Ancient Andolia - Insulare, Bereme and Inte Civilizations

Native%20Andolians%202.svg

The major native Andolian civilizations in the territory that is modern-day Andolian Giovanniland.

Several indigenous peoples have lived for thousands of years in the northern Andolian land that is today part of Giovanniland, inhabiting different areas of various geographical features and biomes throughout the land, such as the coastal lowlands, the large chains of mountains passing through the middle, and the valleys to the south. The mysterious Insulare civilization has the earliest archeological records, being contemporary with the Proto-Lavandulan-Minsunese in Lavender Island, and by 4000 BF they had formed a civilization in the islands known today as New Year Islands. Much about the Insulare is still unknown, including their native name and their undeciphered writing system. However they were known for their commerce prowess, and records from the mainland show that trade with the Insulare was flourishing by the end of the Early Insulare Era, conventionally ending at 2300 BF.

The oldest civilization in the mainland are the Bereme people, who migrated downstream through the great Irto River between the years of 3500 and 2500 BF, and went on to create city-states throughout the river's course, with advanced irrigation systems. Old Bereme scriptures have emerged since 2400 BF, and soon the civilization would see the rise of local kingdoms fighting for prominence, until the unification in 2152 BF. The different lands were unified under the command of a single ruler for the first time, with the first dynasty lasting from 2152 to 2043 BF and focusing on consolidating the new state as well as spreading the native religion. The second (2023-1939 BF) and third (1938-c. 1887 BF) Bereme dynasties undertook a coastal expansion starting in 1980 BF, while also interacting with the Insulare colonies founded on the mainland during the Middle Insulare Era, and the Inte people to the west of the Bereme.

Following the collapse of the third dynasty, a century of turmoil ensued, marked by foreign influence by the Insulare and internal division. The Inte people also migrated eastwards during this period, settling lands to the west and east of the Irto River, and possibly adding to the upheaval. However, the fourth dynasty (c. 1796-1716 BF) reunified the civilization, and their rulers are also known for building several magnificent temples. Prosperity for the Beremeans ensued during the fifth dynasty (1714-1573 BF) who conquered the Inte homelands, and the sixth dynasty (1573-1412 BF) who achieved the peak of power during this first golden era, notably overseeing the navigation of the upper Irto River and founding many new settlements.

Unfortunately, the able rulers of the sixth dynasty were succeeded by weak ones from the brief seventh dynasty (1408-1377 BF), followed by division into northern and southern realms. The eighth and tenth dynasties ruled the north, and were heavily influenced by the Insulare, who were at the height of their power and wealth in the Late Insulare Era, while the ninth and eleventh ruled the south. The ninth dynasty emperors were ethnic Inte people, who had invaded parts of the Bereme territory as revenge for being dominated by them before and decided to establish their dynasty. However, they were overthrown in the year of 1235 BF by the native eleventh dynasty, who came to defeat the northern invaders and unify the Bereme civilization.

While this all played out, new civilizations developed to the south and east of the Bereme. They all had common ancestry from a culture called Proto-Boreandolian, lasting from 3000 BF to around 1500 BF. It then divided into the southern branch, which developed into the Emüne civilization to the south of the great mountain range, and into the northern branch composed by two closely related cultures. These would eventually separate into the Ardala civilization in the northern coasts and the Ulerge in the central mountainous valleys, who would come to play important roles in the Classical and Medieval Ages of northern Andolia.

President's Office, Red Palace
Security, Justice, and Peace Cluster Meeting

Military Affairs Secretary Carlo Charlton presented the latest on the Mille-mer: "True to everyone's commitments, Task Force 417 has been able to deter illegal activities along our coast. But our current problems, Mr. President, are the influx of prisoners in Mille-mer's corrections, with some prisoners caught in Northeast Mille-mer being ushered to Neojunc's corrections."

Adaikesian President Luke Salazar faced Justice Secretary Jeffrey Searle, "Give me a report on the conditions of the mentioned corrections by next week. Can we also request if the Regional Justices of Mille-mer and Thraproy can fast-track these cases in their lower courts so that these Bilyadis are incarcerated in our larger City and Regional Jails?"

Searle nodded while responding, "I was able to talk about this with Chief Justice Aucsap a few weeks back before he fell into a stroke. These shenanigans in the Supreme Court just came after, tossing questions about whether the Chief Justice seat is said to be vacated when the sitting Chief Justice suffers an illness that prevents him from accomplishing his role."

Salazar replied, "I know that there's nothing in our Constitution that replaces the Chief Justice other than being impeached, dead, or retired. We'll let the Justices take care of their problems in the Supreme Court, but while we're at it, let's talk to the respective Regional Justices that are affected by these current problems of ours in Mille-mer." Searle nodded to the President's statements.

Salazar then faced National Security Adviser Marian Proudfoot, “Where are we on Pouria?”

"Our agents have confirmed, Mr. President," Proudfoot replied, "that Pouria has not stepped foot in any Auran or Andolian countries that have direct flights from any Polaris nations."

“So Pouria may still be in any of the countries in Polaris?” Salazar asked.

"That's what our agents have concluded, Mr. President," Proudfoot replied, "but you know as well, Mr. President, that as a member of the AU, we are not allowed to conduct any investigations, may it be for a local issue or an international dispute, or even deploy personnel to any of the member-countries, unless the AU allows it."

"That just came from an interpretation of one country, Marian," Salazar reminded. He then faced Foreign Affairs Secretary Anne Duncan, "Did we already have an answer from AU on that matter, Anne?"

Duncan shook her head and frowned.

Salazar looked back to Proudfoot, "What about the things that I want y'all studied?" pointing his lips at the folder in front of her.

"We're still continually looking at the source of the chemicals being used by the Bilyad Marines, Mr. President, if these are being locally manufactured or if countries are providing them resources."

Salazar again faced Military Affairs Secretary Charlton and asked, "Have we done something about this to protect our own when they are against the Bilyadis? I don't want to lose Adaikesian lives over this again."

"The Military Research Bureau is still looking into the components in the chemical used by the Bilyadis, Mr. President, and they still need to check if we have the necessary resources that we can use to defend our people."

Salazar has had it with the Auran nation, "Why don't we just bomb Bilyad so that we won’t have to think about these problems?!"

“I told you, Pouria, these things take time,” Barr can hear the voice of the Former Trade Secretary Felice Colbert on the phone.

“I’ve been here in Kurabis for three months already, Felice! The travel from Artztokzsia was even harsher.” Barr responded.

“Have they been good to you so far, Pouria?”

“I’ll give them that, Felice. But as long as I’m being cooped up in damp houses, my desires to return to Gasple are getting stronger.”

"You are not a state priority, Pouria," Colbert reminded. "You're the one who wanted to have asylum in the first place. If you're one, you're in a state-of-the-art hotel or will be shipped here right away. Just be grateful that they're treating you with the decency you are being afforded."

The Final Verse

By Jaan Kapp

With dawn's first blush, I greet the restless sea,
A canvas churned with foam, a symphony
Of crashing waves that lick the jagged shore.
These weathered cliffs, where salty winds implore,
Have seen a lifetime pass, a heart grow old,
Yet hold a beauty that can still unfold.

Here, where the gulls cry out in morning's light,
I chase the muse, a phantom taking flight.
My inkwell's dry, the fire within wanes,
Each verse a sigh, a whisper of past pains.
Love's melody, a songbird long since flown,
Leaves echoes in this heart, now mostly stone.

Noon finds me scaling heights where eagles soar,
Among the peaks, where clouds like giants pour.
The sun, a crown upon the mountain's brow,
Casts long, stark shadows on the world below.
A lifetime's climb, a summit hard-won prize,
But from this height, where memory resides,

I see the tapestry of years unfold,
The triumphs sung, the stories yet untold.
The valleys bloom, where youthful fancies played,
Now tinged with amber, where pleasant dreams have stayed.
And in the distance, faintly, I recall,
A face, a touch, a love that conquered all.

Dusk paints the south in hues of fading fire,
Where swaying grasses whisper on the pyre
Of day's demise. A lone wolf lifts his head,
A mournful cry that echoes 'til it's dead.
The warmth of twilight soothes my weary bones,
A quiet peace upon these golden tones.

Life's final journey, to these lands I've come,
To seek a spark, to chase a phantom's hum.
Though beauty lingers, and the world inspires,
The well of verse runs dry, consumed by fires
Of time's own making. In this fading light,
I close my eyes, and greet the coming night.

Lazar Ignatiyev: "...and we have live pictures of the FSN Marshal Zhukov and supporting ships making their way to port in Aurum, the capital of Overthinkers. With General Iosip Franc and the Boys in Blue on board, the FSN Marshal Zhukov has been on a diplomatic tour of friendly states, including Saint Mark and Giovanniland, before arriving in Overthinkers for the fifth Rugby World Cup."

Roman Isakov: "Lazar, I've been told that the Boys in Blue have been a huge hit on this mission, is that right?"

Lazar: "Absolutely, Roman. At each port of call they played friendly games with the locals, showing off their skills and having the natives meet with our famed captain, Luka Ivika, who as we all know is a charming and humble man."

Roman: "I'm glad he's returned to be captain of the squad for this tournament, there was talk of him retiring after the victory at home last year."

Lazar: "When I spoke to him at the stop in Giovanniland, he noted that he has a drive to make sure that the Free State wins the cup on foreign soil, something which has eluded the squad so far. Winning at Garrison Stadium was a dream come true, but winning the trophy elsewhere really would make the squad feel that they're the top team in the world."

image.thumb.jpeg.6ef84d170fad6ff0b945ccf1039ab9a5.jpeg

Captain Luka Ivika photographed with the Boys in Blue while on tour.

Lazar: "General Franc is said to be in good spirits, as part of this tour he is representing the Marshal and all of the Free State in a new tradition of "handing over" the hosting responsibilities from Dalimbar to Overthinkers. This includes handing over the ceremonial flame which was lit in Saint Andreisburg and carried on the FSN Marshal Zhukov on the journey to Overthinkers. He is expected to meet with the Overthinkers leadership this evening."

Roman: "Thank you for your report, Lazar. We here at Free State Television are proud to present you live action of the fifth Rugby World Cup, and we look forward to the success of our glorious team!"

OstroniaStarsLogoRWC5Small.png.a1340232f469cd4a95cfd69c13d8c3a6.png

Ostronian Rugby Federation Headquarters
Gida, Ostronia
One month before the Fifth Rugby World Cup

"Thanks for coming in, Erik. How's the knee?"

"Got it taped up with prayers and gauze."

"Nasty hit there, nasty hit."

"My career-ender," admitted Erik Tafa, former captain of the Ostronia Stars, to the suit in front of him.

"Well, that's what I wanted to talk to you about. Please, have a seat."

Erik relaxed into the lounge chair with a small wince. Karl sat on the front of his desk, arms crossed over his chest, which he puffed up with a big breath to look strong and confident. It only reminded Erik of nervousness.

"Drink?" Karl offered quickly, waving a hand at the cabinet. A nice bottle of rum shone amber under the lamplight. Based on the rest of the dilapidated office, Erik wondered briefly about the Rugby Federation's budget priorities.

"No thanks. Driving home to Ibadan tonight."

"Maybe. Maybe not," Karl's eyes glimmered. "Let me cut to the chase. Coach Balarabe quit today."

Erik sat up a bit. "Why?"

"Professional disagreements," Karl tried to reassure him. "At the end of the day, he wanted my job as GM for the Stars. He wanted to pick what he thought were the 'best players.'"

"Not surprising," Erik nodded. "Let me guess- they were all Ausa?"

"And every one of them is supposedly better than Yaya," Karl chuckled, shaking his head.

"Why'd he quit now? You should have the whole team picked out and training together by now. I mean," he scoffed, "we're only a month a way from Overthinkers."

Karl traced his palm with his thumb. The pressure made the knuckle turn white. "We only just finished the selection process," he said to the carpeted floor.

Erik stood up in shock, his knee's protests be damned. "What? You're telling me you only now have a team picked out? No wonder Balarabe's left you, scurrying like a rat off a sinking ship! Did you even have auditions? Have you even notified any of them? Have you even let their teams know?"

It was Karl's turn to wince. "I was hoping that could be your job, Coach Tafa."

"No. No, this is ridiculous. Pull out of the cup right now before you embarrass the whole country. And don't call me again."

Erik turned to leave. Karl placed a hand on his shoulder. He was tempted to grab it and throw the suit to the floor.

"Don't you want to see the roster before you leave?" Karl said.

Erik sighed.

"Show me."

General Manager Karl Olsen
* Played in RWC4

Karl handed him a legal notepad. On it were some names he had probably jotted down an hour ago. Erik recognized several of his teammates from last year in Dalimbar, but there were several fresh names too. And of course-

"Yaya's on here," Erik stated.

"Why wouldn't he be? He's the best prop in the country."

"Yeah, and his agent is up in Easthaven right now trying to get him a deal with a Kalmachian team."

"That won't matter for the World Cup. He can't play for Kalmach there."

"But it sure says a lot about his patriotism. Or lack thereof. He might forgo the World Cup and a potential injury if he signs for a team up there."

"You played with him. You know he's a gloryhound. Use that."

Erik tsked. "It might be the only way to get through that thick skull of his. He won't be able to turn down another shot at world champion."

"Exactly!" Karl clapped.

"Let's pray the Kalmachians don't put in an unwritten clause that he sits out this cup," Erik warned.

He tossed the notepad back to the suit and pinched the bridge of his nose. "You're giving me a month to get these fifteen guys together on a pitch, get the biggest personalities in Ostronian rugby to play nice with each other, and somehow make sure we aren't an embarrassment to our country in front of the entire world."

"If anyone can do it, it's you, Erik. Yaya may be an amazing player, but he doesn't have your mind for team strategy. You were captain of the Stars last year, not him. You took the team to the round of sixteen."

Erik shook his head. "I don't know, Karl."

Karl had one more card to play. He put every bit of his father's salesmanship into it. He grabbed Erik's hands in both of his. "Look, Erik. What are you going to do, now that you're off the pitch? Coach the Ibadan Reds and hope you maybe someday win a state title? Or do you want to be back out there, out on the world stage, with your players, helping them achieve what no one thought this little country in Nur could?

"You were a great captain, Erik. Now you can be an amazing coach."

He released Erik's hands, then positioned his own for a handshake.

"Before I shake your hand," Erik said, "tell me you at least have a pitch for us to train on."

"Of course! Of course! I wouldn't hire a coach without a pitch. It's right here in Gida."

Against his better judgment, Erik shook Karl's hand. He was going to the World Cup again.

"Though I should mention," Karl added, "it's the local high school's pitch."

Erik groaned. This was going to be one hell of a month.

A news broadcast flickers on, in a university dorm, a noisy bar, quietly humming along in a dentist's office - That matters not.

The nation as a whole watches on intently, this was to be the first major international sporting event that war-battered Zhiznovsk had participated in since it won its independence. An odd display of national fervour flared up amongst its citizens that day, as it watched its team, regional celebrities, walk up to a stage with many advisors and councilmen in attendance, including the recently disgraced Servant-Councillor for the Promotion of Public Physical Health and Sporting. Most didn't let it bring down the spirit of the day, however, as they still sat, with bated breath and much anticipation.

Meanwhile, the anchors introduced the story, beginning their broadcast, interrupting some kind of weather report.

"Здравствуй, товарищы, мы аужор предъявим этой-"

The various ambassadors, exchange students and tourists of Zhiznovsk must have sighed in relief upon seeing that there were indeed subtitles- English ones, for the broadcast.

The same broadcast was sure to capture the team moving through a veritable crowd, separated only by a well-planned fence, as they shook hands with the common people, cheery as ever, for they, of course, were the ones who enabled them to partake in such an event. Such ran belief, such had to run belief.

Rasul Ismaelov, the team's coach/manager, took his place at the podium last, following the rest of the team as they smiled and waved their way across the red-carpeted stage, wearing their characteristic blue and yellow jerseys. The coach himself was a relatively young raven-haired man, looking to be in his early 40s, who limped his way to his position, wearing a simple, yet well-tailored suit. A certain stoic coolness emanated out of his, cold in the way ember-coals in the freezing cold are.

"My brothers-in-arms!" He proclaimed, as a wave of adulation propagated across the crowd, holding many a banner or sign.

"Today, it is my pleasure and my sorrow to bid you a goodbye, for now. A week hence, these glorious men and women behind me-"

He gestures

"-will take their place in the green grass in Andolia, across the Viatic, in the gracious country of Overthinkers. Doubtless, many of you will join them there, we suggest you look at the travel advisories and guides we have published for your reference. But even to those who watch on, from home, I ask that you band together, in the spirit of unity, and support these brave men and women as they bare their well-honed skills to the world!"

A well-timed pause, the crowd exploding into cheers again.

"I have seen them play, rise above the others, take on the best of Zhiznovsk and win. But the time is come, for them to prove to the world just what we of Mother Zhiznovsk can accomplish when we work together. I am immensely grateful to have been given the opportunity to mentor these fine folks behind me"

He gestures behind him yet again, and continues.

"However, I have spoken on long enough..." He picks up a rugby ball lying aimlessly on the floor, looking at the crowd, before looking back at his players.
"But I'll be passing the floor to Anya!" He throws the ball behind him, with the well-experienced movements of an athlete, as Anya- a thin, flaxen-haired lass- hops up to catch it, in a moment which almost seemed rehearsed.

The crowd goes wild, as Anya takes the podium and begins to speak.

Meanwhile, in a bar in the capital, a group of people watch the broadcast intently, for a wholly different reason, dressed in a wholly different jersey to the sports bar around them....

Joen City Commission rejects proposal for electric vehicle facility

by FARA WHIN
Editor

JOEN—The Joen City Commission voted 5-2 to reject a rezoning request for a 121.4-hectare plot of undeveloped land, effectively stalling a startup’s plans to construct a μ450,000 factory for electric vehicles, or EVs.

The vote followed a contentious public hearing where locals did not hold back their opinions on the project, and electric cars in general.

“We’re not buying this B.S.,” stated resident Garth Realm, who introduced himself as a seventh-generation rancher. “Nobody asked for this. We won’t be able to even use ‘em here.”

“If you’re going to build a toy factory, call it one,” pontificated another resident.

“We simply want to invest in this community,” insisted Regan Corder, a spokesperson for the applicant, NIUM Inc. NIUM is funded by a consortium of Overthinking tech companies as well as foreign investors. “This facility would create jobs, not just at full operation, but throughout the construction process. It would put Joen on the map.”

According to DRAGEDGE Consulting, a commercial real estate firm associated with the

project, NIUM has been in talks for the property since November. The rezoning application was the first public record connected to the project. To this point, all dealings had been conducted privately, which proved to be an additional sticking point for many residents—as well as some commissioners.

“Why is this the first we’re hearing about this?” Ward 6 Commissioner David Kelly asked. “Are we supposed to feel anything but blindsided? If you’re so eager to ‘invest’, then I should think cooperation would be important.”

DRAGEDGE stated in an email to the Times that prior negotiations had been subject to non-disclosure agreements, and that such agreements were standard procedure for commercial projects. Companies wish to protect against competitors moving in and either obstructing the process or placing higher bids.

Regardless, the well-kept secret meant that few allies attended the commission meeting.

“It is unfortunate that this stumbling-block appeared so close to the finish line,” Mayor Elis Foer said afterwards. “However, it is evident that the manner in which this was conducted has upset the community. Speaking personally, I could not in good conscience approve the request against the will of the citizens.”

The commission vote is only the latest chapter in the EV industry’s troubled story in Overthinkers. In 1421, Cangham battery manufacturer Large Box Inc. announced its partnership with a Larxian automobile company on a new line. While the vehicles were not produced in Overthinkers, this was the first move by an Overthinking company in the EV space.

Despite becoming a popular investment for corporations, public adoption of the technology has fallen short of expected demand. Coastals continue to prefer public transportation where available, while more car-dependent rural consumers have proven resistant to change.

Proponents of EVs believe it to be a no-brainer. With the abundance of renewable energy sources in Andolia, and Overthinkers’ dominance in electronics, advocates claim that we have the capability to become a global leader in the industry. Opponents claim that the return on investment is not yet proven and the difference for the end user is too minimal.

Manufacturers will likely take another hit later this week as the National Congress is set to hear its first legislation regulating personal use of EVs. Legislators are split regardless of party on the issue, but a set of policies including separate registration fees and charging station permits are expected to pass by a comfortable majority.

The Zygotian Seer

Zygotia, Varanius

The recent election of controversial tech mogul turned politician Sarah Fim to Prime Minister has turned heads in the political establishment, both domestically and abroad. Fim’s fiery rhetoric has propelled her and her policies to the center of public discourse. Nominated by the Governance Council on the first of June, and ultimately granted approval by the Core the fourteenth of the same month, she has ascended in record time. Many institutions and thinktanks have serious concerns for what her election and fervent base spells for Varanius and the Darkesian writ large.

Fim first entered the national consciousness as the upstart CEO of C-Tech, the company responsible for the EyePhone. As the daughter of a Mauvist clergyman, she grew up with faith deeply intertwined with her personal, and eventually professional, life. She graduated from the University Kynfruma with degrees in both Business and the Mauvist Arts, before parrying this experience into lower level financier positions. Since her rise to prominence, she’s become one of the most generous patrons of the Mauvist Church around, donating a cumulative total in the millions.

craiyon_173759_Sarah_Fim__tech_mogul_turned_reactionary_politician.png.607494931075b96c0ba26f750ec0cb5a.pngThe policies Fim champions are much less usual. Bringing together a coalition of nationalists, jingoists, and anti-secularists, Fim has organized a rather consistent base of support for a nation which notably has no political parties. A forefront policy goal of hers has been the full legal prohibition of animal flesh in accordance with Mauvist principles of vegetarianism, strongly at odds with the recent liberalization and secularization advanced under Conus Guy’s terms. She also very intensely campaigned on “protecting Andolia” and “securing Varanius’ future”, arguing for aggressive action in the Darkesian and the ramping up of hostilities with Giovanniland.

Ultimately only time will tell what extent of Fim’s campaign is genuine intent and which merely empty posture, but one could be forgiven for feeling some whiplash with the rapid turn Varanian politics have seemingly taken. Is Fim’s stormy rise a sign of things to come, or a fluke compromise candidate? The world, and we in the Seer, look on.

WATCH: Mygrdiyan National Captain Haruo Yagyu Speaks On World Cup Debut
By Kelsey Chad | SPOT Matchday Correspondent | 23 June 1424 (4 hours ago)

Transcript:

Chad: "Good day, everyone! My name is Kelsey Chad, and I'd like to begin our broadcast by thanking all of the passionate fans from around the world for tuning in to SPOT's coverage of the fifth annual Rugby World Cup live from Overthinkers."

"In just a few hours' time, we'll be seeing the debut of the Mygrdiyan national team on the world stage. As the athletes prepare to take the pitch later on this evening, I'm fortunate enough to have the opportunity to speak with the fresh-faced team captain from Mygrdiyah and get his insight as to what they'll be looking to showcase once the lights go on and the world is watching."

"Without further ado, I'm pleased to introduce my guest at this time: Captain Haruo Yagyu from Mygrdiyah. Thank you for taking the time out of your rather busy schedule to join us, Mr. Yagyu!"

Yagyu: "You're very welcome, Miss Chad. The pleasure is all mine."

Chad: "Now that introductions are out of the way, I wanted to get your thoughts on a few things."

Yagyu: "Ah yes," he says, nodding his head slowly.

Chad: "It's you and your countrymen and women's first time here in Overthinkers. What do you think of it so far?"

Yagyu: "It's a nice place," he responds. "That's what we were told to expect by Mr. Kisugi, after all."

"The people here seem welcoming and are committed to taking care of us during our stay. While we certainly don't want to impose, we would like to thank everyone for the hospitality that they've shown us so far."

Chad: "I'm glad to hear that. I know that the event officials here have put a lot of thought and care into making sure that everyone, both sportsman and spectator alike, are comfortable while they visit us here."

"It must be quite nerve-wracking, coming to a new place, traveling each day, and playing in front of new fans in new stadiums. I must ask: How are you and your team preparing for your debut match against Min-Su? Are you handling the adjustments well?"

Yagyu: "Yes, I'd like to think that we are handling the changes well."

"It's a very exciting experience for each of us, but it's also something that we know can't get in the way of our training. It may sound cliche, but we really do need to stay focused and play our game above all else. We have a great opportunity to take in our surroundings and appreciate these moments for what they are, but we're careful not to let said moments become bigger than ourselves or our team."

"Of course, we respect our opponents at every turn. Min-Su is a veteran side with history and experience here at the World Cup. There's a part of us that wants to go out there and show the fans in attendance what rugby in Mygrdiyah is all about. We play with poise and passion. I think that the key to it all is for us to stick to what we know that we can do. The rest will come naturally, as they say."

Chad: "A very thoughtful and candid answer. Thank you."

"You mentioned showing those in attendance what your nation's brand of rugby is like, but what about your native supporters back home? Has the support from them been all that you'd hoped it would be?"

Yagyu: "Yes, that and more. Everyone is just as excited as we are and we're grateful to have the chance to share that excitement with them."

"Mr. Taue tells us that even the Prime Minister has been in contact and that he said he'll be cheering us on for every match. It's a great feeling to know that we have both his support and the support of our fans back home. It's a great morale booster. Everyone is so passionate, and it shows us that we're not alone in this."

Chad: "The fanfare that surrounds the World Cup brings together people from all walks of life. I'm glad that you and your teammates aren't feeling too overwhelmed by all of the attention, especially from the media," she chuckles.

"On another note, how are you guys feeling about your group draw? You're in group D, which is the same group that features the host nation of a past World Cup and a nation that had previously lodged a bid to host this year's World Cup. Does that intimidate you at all?"

Yagyu: "No, I wouldn't say that it intimidates me or any of us really."

"Like I said, we respect our opponents no matter their accolades. It's a good habit to get into, I think. When you approach every match with the same attitude regardless of the teams that you're playing, it's a lot easier to keep a cool head and not allow the pressure of everything to get to you."

"Giovanniland and Dalimbar are certainly some of the heavy hitters, you could say. Nonetheless, my teammates and I are looking forward to the challenges that await us. At the end of the day, we're playing a game that we love. We can't possible bring ourselves to feel bad about that."

Chad: "Oh, I see. Well then, I'm sure you'll take care to put together a gameplan and start things off on strong footing before the time comes for those matchups."

"It's been great to talk with you. But, before you go, I do have one more question to ask."

Yagyu: "Yes, of course. Go on...," he smiles.

Chad: "Everyone wants to know: What does this year's World Cup mean to you and your teammates? It means something special to everyone, of course, but I imagine that it's especially important for your first time competing. How is this showing significant?"

Yagyu: "Hmm...," he pauses. "It's hard to say."

"I think that we want to make a good first impression out there, for sure. In order to do that, we have to do what got us here in the first place. It's a special feeling whenever you experience something new, but it's an even better feeling to be able to be confident in yourself. We want to be a team that everyone in Mygrdiyah can be proud to send again next year! I hope that they will continue to support us as we follow our dreams and play this great game."

The Dashing Couple

Wales superstar gets engaged to supermodel girlfriend | Page 5 of 5 | Ruck

Hugo Dasher and Emily Clement-Bosworth

Leigh Halfpenny Family, Wife, Age, Siblings, Height - Chicksinfo.com

The happy couple at last year's engagement party

Hugo Dasher, the Lions Left-Wing-On-Leave and former Most Eligible Bachelor, watched from the stands today as his teammates scored big against the hapless Einherfell team. Accompanied by his fiance, Emily Clement-Bosworth, daughter of industrialist, Sir Aston Clement, and Lady Phyllis Clement-Bosworth, he was seen cheering and embracing his future bride after the last score. While it is reported that it was his decision to take this season off so as not to be distracted by the wedding plans, one wonders if part of him wouldn't rather have been on the pitch instead of his replacement, Celerio Blitzen.

And what a replacement Blitzen has been! His speed and agility surpass Dasher at his best and were a key component of today's win by The Saint Mark Lions. When (if?) Dasher returns to the Lions next year, will his old position still be available?

05:00 Over Time
24 June 1424
New Zoradia, Zoran

Atsila sits in her office, eating her breakfast before her daily brief, wondering what sort of issues she needs to resolve today.

I wonder who is going to be causing a fuss today? Will the Junaluskanists be making radical demands in the iyundai again or will it be the Brave Talons? Or will some nationalists be outraged after our rugby team’s defeat to the Nouveauterrans in yesterday’s match?

As she is taking a sip from her glass of water a knock comes from the door, interrupting her thoughts.

“Come in!” she says,

Minister Agaluysdi enters the office carrying a file and bows when he reaches Atsila’s desk,

“Good morning, Your Majesty. I hope my interruption of your breakfast isn’t inconveniencing you.”

“Not at all,” she answers, “but considering this isn’t a phone call I assume it is urgent?”

“Not exactly urgent but something that we may want to keep somewhat of an eye on.” he says as he hands the file to her. As she opens it up and reads through the document he says, “As I am sure Soyohata might have told you a while ago, the Varanians elected a fairly controversial figure as their prime minister, Sarah Finn. However, her rhetoric and policies might warrant us to keep an eye on Varanius as her political allies and her own ideas are jingoistic and nationalist.”

“So I see, but do we have any idea if she is more than her words? Do you think she could be a risk to us, our allies, or the Aniyvwiya nations under our protection in the Darkesian?”

“In terms of the Aniyvwiya I cannot say, but I can say that she will likely be increasing tensions with the Giovannilandians over the region of Andoliavilla. While I do not think she would be bold enough to really push into the Darkesian, we should monitor Varanius just in case and reaffirm our commitment towards the protection of the Aniyvwiya states.”

“Very well, in that case let it be so. I will let you carry that out however you see fit. I personally don’t believe she will become of much concern for us but it wouldn’t help to be cautious.” she says before taking a bite of her tuya gaduhi (see molletes).

“As you wish, Your Majesty. Have a good day.” he says before leaving the office, letting Atsila finish her breakfast in peace, a rare luxury for her these days.

Noya: Good morning, everyone! I am Noya Priscian and I am currently trying to find where Quiyakaso is.

Camera Man: I thought he told you that he was going to get some fruit?

Noya: He did but he didn't specify where.

Camera Man: That...is never a good sign. Who wants to bet that he is currently getting arrested?

Noya: He is no-

???: HEEEEEEEEEEELP!

Camera Man: Did you guys hear that?

???: HEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEELP! PLEASE! SOMEONE HELP ME!

Noya: That sounds really close. sigh I swear if Quiyakaso is the cause of whoever is in distress.

???: NOYA! PLEASE HELP! UP HERE!

Noya: Huh?

Noya and the camera look up to see Quiyakaso stuck in a tree.

Noya: What the...What are you doing up there!? We are supposed to be reporting about last night's match!

Quiyakaso: I told you! I was getting fruit!

He then holds up what appears to be an unripe apple.

Noya: Oh my- QUIYAKASO! THAT ISN'T EVEN RIPE! PLUS, YOU CAN'T JUST TAKE FRUIT FROM THE PARK!

Quiyakaso: Oh...well can you get some help? I am stuck in the tree.

Noya: It is not that hard, Quiya! If you could climb up it then you can climb down it! Just carefully fell around with a foot as you climb down!

Quiyakaso: I can't! I am too scared!

Noya: sigh Fine! Just hang in there and we will fall the fire department. You are paying for any fines though!

Quiyakaso: Please hurry!

Camera moves back to face Noya who is simply pinching the ridge of her nose before looking back at the camera.

Noya: I'm sorry about that, everyone, Quiyakaso is just having another one of his moments. During our first match day, the Nouveauterran team completely defied expectations and defeated the Zoranian Sun Hawks, 22 to 6. It was a well played game and a great debut match for the Nouveauterran team, but it is a sad sight for our Sun Hawks that they will have to make up for in their next match or they face elimination! The next match is one you don't want to miss as our Sun Hawks will once again face off against last World Cup's underdog's, Ryxtylopia, an exciting match to be sure. Will our Sun Hawks get revenge for last World Cup or will they experience another disappointing defeat as the former two time champion team falls into further decline? Only time will tell, I am Noya Priscian and you are watching the Royal News Network.

Quiyakaso: Can someone throw me a plastic bottle? I really need to take a [bleep].

Noya: By the Great Spirit, Quiyakaso! Just hold it in! I believe in you! The fire department is on its way!

< Previous: Insulare, Bereme and Inte
Classical Period - the Beremean Golden Age

Bereme%202.svg

The Bereme civilization's territory during its history spanning several millennia. Their core territory was settled during antiquity, while their imperial conquests happened during the Classical Age.

The Classical Age starts with the reunification of the Beremean lands in 1175 BF by the eleventh dynasty, who founded the Bereme Empire and ruled as the first imperial dynasty until 1112 BF, reconquering lost lands to the west, east and south of the Irto River. Great infrastructure projects across the land were completed in this period, alongside progress in new inventions and technology, which was also continued by the twelfth dynasty (1112-996 BF). Meanwhile, the influence of the Inte and Insulare civilization waned, especially the latter due to an economic decline in their eastern colonies, which would soon be abandoned due to Beremean conquest and Ardalan migration to the coast.

The peak of the Bereme civilization in territorial extension and riches came with the two Great Dynasties, the thirteenth (996-763 AF) and fourteenth (763-644 AF). The former was the longest dynasty in all of Beremean history and undertook vast territorial expansions, starting in the eastern coast which they conquered in 986 AF and soon would be inhabited by the Ardalan people. Two decades later it was time for the Bereme to deal their revenge to the Insulare, and the occupation of their homeland in the New Year Islands starting in 959 AF led to the destruction of many settlements and oppression of the native culture, so that by the end of the empire a majority of the islands' inhabitants was non-native. Last but not least, the Ulerge were conquered in 912 AF, when the Bereme explored even higher reaches of the Irto River and the nearby mountains.

After the conquests, the 9th and 8th centuries BF were also a prosperous time for the Bereme Empire, including significant advancements in trade, science and the arts. The empire's strategic location and control over trading routes in northern Andolia facilitated the exchange of many goods, often passing through the Empire's coastal cities of Takoria, Baire and Kedirtio as well as the capital Naftera and the inland trading center of Nenofre. The Bereme civilization had an intricate architectural prowess, seen in the magnificent temples featuring scenes of Beremean religion and often built in honor of a city's given tutelary deity. Their ancient texts about medicine and healthcare also showed advanced scientific knowledge for their time, describing detailed surgical procedures, diagnoses and treatments for various diseases.

However, by the end of the fourteenth dynasty in the mid-7th century BF, intrigue and power struggles were frequent in the royal court, and the situation got worse after the eastern subjects of the Bereme started to rebel. By this time, the two Northern Boreandolian branches of the Ardala and Ulerge were fully separate and began seeking independence. The Ulerge successfully revolted in 655 BF, causing the overthrow of the reigning emperor and its replacement with the fifteenth dynasty (636-589 BF). This dynasty failed to stop the turmoil, and came to an end after the Ardala achieved independence in 590 BF, followed by a loss of the dying empire's southeastern frontier lands.

The ascension of the sixteenth (587-512 BF) and seventeenth (539-466 BF) dynasties began a new reality for the Bereme, with their rulers no longer seeking the title of emperors. The eighteenth dynasty (494-375 BF) oversaw a reconstruction project for the civilization, including the founding of new cities in the conquered northern islands, causing the Insulare culture's eventual demise after centuries of occupation. In the western and eastern valleys, the descendants of the Inte people thrived, with some integrating into the Bereme civilization and establishing dynasties. The twenty-first dynasty (246-91 BF) is an example, and it managed to be successful amid the post-imperial uncertainty, since it strengthened the realm's defenses and temporarily reconquered the southeastern lands that had been lost three centuries earlier. However, the Beremeans eventually fell to the rising Ulerge Khanate in 42 AF.

ASAHI, MINSU - The revered religious icon of Fujimo-no-Mikoto, the deity of death, has arrived this morning from Karlopole, Giovanniland. This significant artifact is set to undergo a solemn benediction and sermon ritual at the sacred site of Toyoda Grand Shrine. The ritual, led by the Principal Paragon of the Kannushi, will commence at 3 PM Minsu Standard Time (MST).The icon's arrival marks the beginning of a sacred journey, with the Celestial Hall, the highest organ of the Gaoist faith, preparing to enshrine the icon for three days. This period of enshrinement is seen as a profound honor and a moment of deep spiritual significance for the faithful in Minsu and Giovanniland.

Thousands of Gaoist adherents have flocked to Toyoda Grand Shrine to witness the historic event. The shrine, adorned with vibrant banners and sacred symbols, stands ready to welcome the icon. As the clock ticks towards the 3 PM ritual, the atmosphere is filled with a mix of anticipation, reverence, and joy.

The Principal Paragon, a key figure in the Order of the Kannushi, will lead the benediction and sermon. The ritual is expected to include traditional kagura dances, purification rites, and the chanting of sacred texts from the Zenith Scroll. The faithful are preparing to participate in the ceremonies by performing ritual washing and bathing to ensure purity.

Following the benediction at Toyoda Grand Shrine, the icon will be enshrined in the Celestial Hall for three days. During this period, special prayers and offerings will be made to Fujimo-no-Mikoto, invoking blessings and protection for the people of Minsu and Giovanniland.

The icon's journey does not end in Minsu. After its stay in the Celestial Hall, it will pass through the city of Aquaviola in Giovanniland and several other Giovannese cities, allowing more faithful to venerate the deity. This tour is seen as an opportunity to strengthen spiritual ties between the regions and bring blessings to the cities it visits.

Finally, the icon will return to its home at Ukeda Shrine in Karlopole, where it will continue to be a focal point of worship for Gaoists in Giovanniland. The sacred tour is expected to enhance the spiritual connection between the Gaoist communities in Minsu and Giovanniland.

The arrival and subsequent rituals underscore the deep spiritual ties and cultural exchange between Minsu and Giovanniland. It highlights the unifying power of Gaoism and the shared reverence for deities like Fujimo-no-Mikoto, fostering a sense of global Gaoist community.

As the sacred icon of Fujimo-no-Mikoto embarks on this significant journey, the faithful in Minsu and beyond look forward to the blessings and spiritual enlightenment that this revered symbol brings.

This House That Held A Universe

by Kristiina Raadik

This house that held a universe – now echoes sigh alone –
Where laughter bloomed, a chilling wind now makes a mournful moan.
The chairs that cradled company, stand stark, with vacant eyes,
And memories, specters pale, through drafty hallways rise.

I walk a stranger in this room, where once I danced with glee,
Pale reflection in a looking glass, a face I scarcely see.
The Love that filled this hallowed space, a phantom, cold and thin,
Like frost upon a windowpane, where warmth once held within.

Do they who left, still hold me dear, in whispers, soft and low?
Or am I but a faded dream, the one they used to know?
Perhaps their hearts hold other suns, and mine, a dying star,
Lost in the vast, indifferent dark, unseen, however far.

Is even memory a curse, this constant, gnawing ache?
Of fireside tales and gentle hands, a love I cannot take
With me, into this chilling night, where shadows twist and turn,
And whispers mock, "Does anyone still love what you've become?"

Can embers, buried deep within, be coaxed to life anew?
Can love, once lost, rise from the ash, bathed in a gentle dew?
Or am I doomed to wander here, a ghost in shades of gray,
Forever lost within this house, where love has gone away?

A Jury In The Corner Hangs

by Kristiina Raadik

A jury in the corner hangs, of silken thread and gleam,
Eight watchful eyes, a silver stare, upon my being beam.
No gavel falls, no verdict rings, yet dread begins to creep,
As though this silent, splindly judge, my very soul doth keep.

It spins its web of woven thought, where conscience hangs on high,
And each slow turn, a pondering, on virtues left to die.
Did honesty hold fast and true, within this fragile breast?
Or did deceit, a sly serpent, find welcome as its guest?

Compassion's thread, is it worn thin, by trials yet unseen?
Or woven strong, a sheltering cloak, where kindness intervenes?
The verdict hangs, unspoken still, a weight upon my mind,
For terror grows with every tick, the clock of judgment kind.

Perhaps it seeks a hidden flaw, a chink in virtue's wall,
A whispered sin, a shadowed thought, for which I soon shall fall.
But oh, the silence amplifies, the dread that fills the air,
Awaiting pronouncement, swift or slow, to find me wanting there.

I long for accusation's sting, for anger, hot and bright,
Than this unending, silent stare, that chills me through the night.
For is there not more solace found, in fury's righteous flame,
Than waiting for a verdict hushed, and bearing endless shame?

Ryxtylopia in the Group Stage; The matchups.

A SPECIAL BROADCAST BY TVNC SPORTS

[Railo]: We're going? Alright, Good afternoon everybody, you are currently watching Televiza Natxinal di Cuiltura, im your presentor for today Tivan Railo, and while id usually be joined by some coworkers to discuss the state of rugby in ryxtylopia and the world today i find myself alone in this space, since our schedule for those types of broadcast hasn't started yet. Rather, this is a one-time special broadcast by TVNC.

And you may wonder, why alone? Well its beacause we're going to take a brief look into Ryxtylopia's opponents for the group stage of the 5th edition of the Rugby World Cup, being hosted all the way down in Andolia, in Overthinkers to be precise. Our boys arrived there a few days ago, and now they are looking forwards to their first, and probably hardest group stage match, against a familiar opponent, so its time to get the show on the road and see the rivals we'll be facing and how they compare to our team, starting with...

The screen transitions into a small overview of each opposing team from now on.

ZORAN!

The Sun Hawks of Zoran are a slightly familiar opponent for Ryxtylopia, both teams met in the quarterfinals of the last RWC, where the zoranians; at the time the reigning champions lost to the Pirates on their debut in RWC4, its been a while since that day in Dalimbar, and so far its been the only ocation where Zoran and Ryxtylopia met in a RWC match, with the Pirates taking the victory 31 to 25 points.

The zoranians have already started their campaign in this edition of the tournament, despite being an experienced team, they have started on the wrong foot loosing to Noveauterra 6-22, their playstyle favoring attacking in that match cost them against an inexperienced but solid noveauterran defense, which absorbed the zoranian attack and was able to take the chances they had to counter-attack, resulting in the debutants getting their first victory against a previous RWC champion.

Maybe it was overconfidence that doomed the zoranians, but that's something they probably wont suffer from against Ryxtylopia! As our team is a primarily young team with experience from a previous RWC and a lot of athletically capable players, what to expect for a match?

We could probably witness the zoranians playing more cautiously trying to get the Pirates to overextend themselves on the field, or trying to lure the pirates out, we can probably also expect a LOT of passing in this match, as for chances it will be either a scorefest for both sides, with either side being able to gain an advantage, or it will be a slog throught the field, with frequent possetion changes and few chances. After the loss against Noveauterra the zoranians may play more defensivley than usual, but they still preffer to go on the attack, whilst for this year, Tivarra has changed the tactics as he stated before he intends to play more agressivley.

This is a match we'll be transmitting tomorrow! So hopefully you all get your snacks and enjoy what promises to be a very intense match.

SAINT MARK!

The Lions of Saint Mark are a respected, posh team in Aura, Saint Mark being the largest and most populous nation in the continent - its no surprise they are able to produce talent, maybe not the best talent in comparison to some other teams but they have plenty of it, meaning they have a lot of options when it comes to players and a lot of experience to consult. The Pirate and the Lion have never dueled in the RWC, as during Ryxtylopia's debut, Saint Mark got knocked out in the round of 16, never meeting Ryxtylopia in the groups either.

But they have started on the right foot unlike the zoranians, the Markans have won their fist game in not an astonishing but a comfortable fashion against the wavering Einherfell team, which as of now is the worst ranked team in the world, the Lions glided elegantly to victory with the score being 10-0, their favored style of play seems to lean a bit of the defensive edge, maybe leaning towards possetion, but a still balanced style of play as they can attack when you need them to, and they can put up a if not "magnificent" a decent defense against any opponent.

When the Lions encounter the pirates we could expect a slower match than with the zoranians, as they'll probably hold back for the first minutes, playing cautiously, whilst our team might make go for drop-goals if scoring a try proves too hard, both teams have a balanced style of play, so its unlikley we'll see risky plays from either, or any team leaning overly towards attacking or defending.

The date for when we'll transmit this match is TBD, so stay tuned on TVNC for more info.

PEOUROUIN!

Making their way all the way from Nur to take part in the tournament is the Peorouin National Team, which sadly for me don't seem to have earned any nicknames yet, like Ryxtylopia they debuted in RWC4 and got 4th in their group, only to be bombed into the ground by the zoranians in the round of 16, Peourouin is a team with slow but steady growth and shouldn't be underestimated. A team which Ryxtylopia hasn't played against in a RWC yet.

They've started the tournament off with a win, 17-7 over Arifiyyah, and their team has shown to be agressive, which could be one of their greatest weaknesses against the stronger teams in the group, since playing agressive is a high-risk style of play with a lot of potential chances to score but also a lot of potential chances to concede, it will all be down to how their defense is and how much possetion they can retain, as they could very easily pressure their opponents continously given enough possetion and physicial ability.

As i said previously being over-agressive might be a weakness, if their tactics do not change, we could expect a game between them and the Pirates being a lot of chances from their team being wasted with a few scored, whilst their defense may struggle against a barrage of pirate counter attacks, depends on how much possetion they're able to keep. Considering their players are still relativley young, and they're another fellow ex-debutant from RWC4 this match will be very interesting to watch.

ARIFIYYAH!

The Mighty Orangutan from Arifiyyah a nation known more for football than rugby, having several succesful participations in the soccer tournament, but not being able to replicate that success in rugby, since in Dalimbar they came in dead last in their group, which they did share with the pirates, with the result favoring the nation north of Bilyad as Ryxtylopia won that game 14-0.

They haven't gotten to a good start loosing 7-17 to Peourouin but they seem to be in a process of restructuring to improve their rugby team and perhaps put up a fight for one of the 4 spots to the round of 16. Their team plays semi-agressivley, apparently preffering to be on the offense, very similarly to Zoran and less like Peourouin.

In a game against the Pirates, we could expect them to try to pressure Ryxtylopia with a lot of passing, and moves forward, but this game will be hard for them, and currently they're not in line to make it out of the group, they do have a lot of players with potential that probably hasn't been tapped yet, and if Ryxtylopia can retain possetion and conduct counterattacks, Arifiyyah could be in some serious trouble once they face the Pirates, but like i said its a team that with the necessary reforms could become a decent team in the RWC.

EINHERFELL!

Another team without a nickname, also apparently without organization, either that or something else that's causing the team from Einherfell to have a terrible time in recent RWC's, they finished last in their group in Dalimbar, meaning Einherfell and Ryxtylopia have not had any games in a RWC as previously they haven't shared groups and Einherfell haven't advanced to a knockout round in the last RWC.

Their start to this RWC also leaves much to be desired by their fans loosing 0-10 to Saint Mark, and their team doesn't seem to have any coherent playstyle, they variate a lot between games, so its very hard to know their preffered playstyles.

This may be the least interesting of the matches to play and its hard to know what to expect in a game, but it wouldn't be surprising to see the pirates win with a very favorable score, specifically as Einherfell doesn't seem to be a team that likes to pressure their opponents nor defend too much.

NOUVEAUTERRA!

A team making their debut in this RWC: The Nouveauterran National Team seems to be a team with a lot of potential, since this is their debut they haven't faced Ryxtylopia yet, but they're already looking like a solid team, with one particularity: a lot of their squad is composed of part-time rugby players, meaning this could be a factor later on to determine their performance.

They achieved victory over the zoranians 22-6, a stunning result that has sent shockwaves through the rugby world and has indicated that very much like in the last edition of the RWC debutants will play an important role, both in the groups and later on. Their playstyle is semi-defensive, and they have proven to be able to carry out effectivley.

Facing the Pirates, a less agressive team than the zoranians, the Nouveauterran team may have some issues when it comes to pushing, and attempting to score, being forced to be more agressive, that could be their undoing if they're not careful, but considering this is their first RWC their team seems to be playing it safe, in a game we could either expect few chances to score from either team, a tie, or Ryxtylopia winning with a good score in favor.

The screen transitions back to Railo in the studio.

[Railo]: And that will mark the end of this special broadcast by TVNC! As we just went through we have been able to see the strenghts of each team and how possible games with Ryxtylopia could go, a few teams may give us trouble but as of now the Pirates are one of the auran favorites to win the tournament due to the recent streak from RWC4.

We hope you enjoyed this transmission, don't forget to tune in tomorrow to be able to watch RYXTYLOPIA VS ZORAN! Live from Overthinkers! Only with the best signal here in TVNC, i thank you for your time and i hope all our viewers have a wonderful day, thank you.

The camera zooms out from the studio, as the transmission quickly fades to ads for a betting site advertising Ryxtylopia vs Zoran.

NEWS: Local Pub Offers Free Food After Each National Team Victory
By Hokomori City Press Staff | 25 June 1424 (2 hours ago)

In local news, a small, family-owned eatery and pub in Hokomori has announced today that they'll be offering free food to those who visit their restaurant the day after each of the Mygrdiyan national rugby team's victories in the fifth annual World Cup. This year's event, which is being hosted in Overthinkers, is also the first time that Mygrdiyah has made an appearance on the world stage to participate in organized rugby competition.

As part of this sudden yet rather generous promotional event, the owner of the establishment, Mr. Makoto Miyahara, was quoted as saying, "Many of the players on the Mygrdiyan national team have been quite good to us in the past. We'd like to thank them for their patronage by giving back to our community and encouraging our dear customers to support them whilst they're away on their trip to Overthinkers."

Additionally, the restaurant's staff explained that "There's no need for any apps or rewards program sign-ups. You don't have to give us your email address or even your name. Just come visit us wearing the shirt of your favorite player on our national team and we'll make sure to take care of you. It's the least we can do, after all."

Suffice it to say, business is expected to boom within the coming week for Mr. Miyahara. Behind the scenes, the family hopes that their gesture of charity will encourage more people to support the Mygrdiyan national team in this year's competition and in the future, as well as support the growth of rugby as a sport within the kingdom. Doors open at 11AM each day and closing time isn't until 1AM, the restaurant's official website proudly proclaims.

Despite being small and quaint, Mr. Miyahara's restaurant is nonetheless a popular destination for many of Mygrdiyah's native amateurs, professionals, and semi-professional rugby players, who enjoy dining there. In the past, players have even said that the food Mr. Miyahara and his family serves helps them to feel rejuvenated and ready to take on their team's next challenges. Without the local Mygrd cuisine to comfort them, one wonders how the national team's players are handling the pressure that comes with playing away from home. Although, if their debut match against Min-Su is any indication, the team's faithful supporters are reassured in saying that everything will be fine going forward.

Mygrdiyah's next matchup in the Rugby World Cup V will be on 25 June against Ostronia. Please tune in to SPOT for live coverage of the match!
