Zoran
Transcript The broadcast begins showing Noya standing next to a Quiyakaso in crutches and whose face is covered in scratches. Noya: Hellooooooo Zoran! I am Noya Priscian. Quiyakaso: And I am Quiyakaso Gohalitsve and I am still very much alive, contrary to what some people believe. Noya: Yes...you know that you don't have to be working right now, right? We no longer have a set amount of sick days so you can take off as many da- Quiyakaso: I am perfectly fine, Noya! I feel as strong as an ox! Noya: If you say so...anyways, onto the recap! The Zoranian Sun Hawks won in their match against Peourouin, 32-14, meaning that there is still some hope for the Sun Hawks to qualify for the finals! Quiyakaso: There were some fantastic plays on both sides but the Sun Hawks seem to have finally found their rhythm after their match against Saint Mark and dominated the field. Will they keep this momentum going into their match against Arifiyyah? Or will they meet an unfortunate end during the match? Noya: ...That was very ominous, Quiya. You made it sound like they would actually be murdered. Quiyakaso: Hey, you never know. Maybe Dalimbar puts a landmine on the field to eliminate the competition. Noya: I don't think they would sabotage their diplomatic mission here by doing that. Quiyakaso: When it comes to rugby, nothing is off the table for them. They might send a hitman and cripple the team like that car crippled me. Noya: ...I think you are projecting a bit, Quiya. Quiyakaso: Maybe the Overthinking team will send a car and hit the Avadonialis team. Noya: Quiya...are you ok? I know this isn't the first time you have been hit by a car but I think accident is getting to you a bit. Quiyakaso: I am fine, no need to worry about me. Just getting my frustration out. Noya: ...Okay...well I think that is all from us. Have a great day, Zoran, and let's wish our Sun Hawks the best! United Adaikes
Lovel Ortiz opened his eyes when the alarm from his phone rang. Stretching, he got out of his bed and arranged it hurriedly. He thought of making a strawberry protein shake for his breakfast. Ortiz is one of the professional rugby union players in the United Adaikes. However, their league, formed and sponsored by private corporations, has yet to be recognized by the United Adaikes Rugby Football Union (UARFU). Also, with the World Cup happening, the start of their season was postponed until the end of the Knockouts round so that rugby football fans could watch and savor the World Cup. Standing at 6 foot and 1 inch, weighing 85 kilos, he is one of the top fly-halves in the league. He was one of the top players in their league who sent a position paper to the UARFU to look into drafting players from their league to the national pool. After preparing his strawberry protein shake, he went to the balcony of his apartment, overlooking the coastline in North Wrarnerbadshot, in the north of Thraproy, took his phone out, and browsed for the latest results and stories in the fifth Rugby World Cup happening in Overthinkers. The results of the coming match day will undoubtedly shape the future of the remaining 24 teams still playing for contention in the Knockouts round, he thought. Oh, how he wants to play for the national team. He was thinking that while he was looking at the stats from the performance of the United Adaikes national team from the previous match day. The Sharks are currently second in their group, with Teralyon, the team that beat them on the second match day of the tournament, sitting at the top, still undefeated in four matches. United Adaikes will play against the debutants of their group in the remaining match days. Next, they will play against the unknown Andolian team, New Velka, who have already been eliminated from contention in the Knockouts round and are still winless after playing four matches. Sans Teralyon, they held their AU allies, Nieubasria and Fujai, scoreless. They also won against Sekiya by 14 points despite allowing 10 points from their opponents. Ortiz thought they would be fine against this Andolian team. Still, they had to be wary of this Doll Guldurian debutant. They narrowly escaped with a win against Nieubasria, despite Nieubasria already having a sub-par performance this edition. While Teralyon, the United Adaikes, and Fujai already being stable at the top of the group, Nieubasria needs to win all their matches and hope that both Zhiznovsk and Sekiya lose all their remaining matches so that Nieubasria will make it through and have all of Polaris in their group advance to the Knockouts round. Ortiz does not care for the other groups. While he has reservations about not playing in the international scene, he still wants the best for the United Adaikes national team. As he finished his protein shake, his gaze fixed on the horizon, he felt a mix of anticipation and resolve. He might not be stepping onto the World Cup field this year. Still, his ambitions and commitment to making a name for himself, both in the United Adaikes and on the international stage, remained unshaken. Giovanniland
The Forest Lavender is the namesake of Lavender Island and native to the vast tropical broadleaf forests that cover its territory. It bears some resemblance to the mediterranean lavender found in some other regions of Esferos, but has key differences to fit the tropical climate. Furthermore, it also has a central place in the cultures of Lavender Island's peoples. Biology Forest lavenders feature large, dark green and waxy leaves to capture sunlight, which is limited in the dense forests of Lavender Island. These broad and spread-out leaves are similar to various other plant species in the forest, serving to maximize the intake of light and to store higher levels of chlorophyll, which enhances the photosynthesis. Both the leaves and stems are thick and robust, so that the forest lavender can thrive in the high humidity and rainfall, preventing infections. Furthermore, the species can survive both the wet and dry seasons due to its water management and leaf transpiration. The species' roots are shallow but more expansive, because tropical forests have soils whose top layers are richer in nutrients. It also benefits from several kinds of relationships with other living beings, such as associations with mycorrhizal fungi for better absorption of nutrients, and mutualism with local animals for seed dispersion and pollination. Notably, the lavender-colored flowers are very colorful and have a strong scent to attract pollination from birds, bats and insects found in tropical forests. Culture The forest lavender has been important to the civilizations of Lavender Island since time immemorial. The name of the ancient Lavandulan Empire comes from the plant, because it was prominently featured in the symbols of the initial ruling family that founded the empire, the Kyetsen dynasty. By the end of the empire a millennium later, it came to retroactively identify the civilization throughout its entire history, and the name has persevered. Meanwhile, the island's name comes from the plant's ubiquitousness in the island, perceived both by its inhabitants and foreigners. Today, the forest lavender is widely cultivated across the island and in other tropical regions of Esferos, with many cultivars. Common uses for the plant include lavender essential oil, various culinary recipes, soaps, bath salts, aromatic sachets, and much more. The culinary uses are particularly notable, including but not limited to lavender cupcakes, tea, and lemonade, as well as the famous Giovannese lavender-seasoned pasta. The forest lavender also has an entire event dedicated to it, the Lavender Festival. It originated in the ancient Lavandulan Empire, passed down generation to generation ever since, and was extended to the entirety of what is now Giovanniland during the early Giovannian Empire. It happens during the week before New Year, starting from December 25th, since the forest lavender is considered a symbol of renewal and prosperity. Citizens celebrate the holiday with many activities, such as planting the species at home some time before December so they can be fully grown by the time of the event, decorating houses with lavender bunches and perfumes, and hosting several fairs for the many lavender products. Overthinkers
GUEST EDITORIAL Shaun District Commission approves landmark incentive package for a company that doesn’t want to be here by Journ Eles With a bang and a whimper, our District Commission has just authorized a historic offer for NIUM Inc., about six months after it would have made any difference. Given the timing, after NIUM’s rejection in Joen, it just looks like a sad consolation prize, or like trying to get back with an ex after their new relationship falls apart. To date, SDC has never offered an individualized incentive package, much less one to the tune of μ5 million. In fairness to them, they did their homework. The finished product contained nothing that hasn’t been successful in other jurisdictions, and since it’s mostly made up of rebates, they’re only committing money that doesn’t exist yet. And according to my cursory research, it was by far the most extensive public offer made for the project. So here’s why NIUM, or any company like them, aren’t moving to Shaun anytime soon. My background is in real estate. When you sell someone a home, you don’t have to just sell them on the home. If the home is run-down, that’s its own problem. But even a nice, newly-redone home won’t sell if the neighborhood sucks, if the school sucks, or if it’s too far removed from basic services like a grocery store. (If you don’t believe me, look up how many homes are vacant in the Rolling Hills Addition.) The location and context of a property are as much a part of the product as the four walls of the house. When trying to attract a business, you need more than a piece of empty land. The district has that in abundance. It’s kind of our brand. But that’s part of the problem. We’re so far removed from civilization that moving products in and out is costly. And none of what our commissioners have identified as suitable locations for industry have basic utilities. Sure, we can always add them later, but how long will that take? NIUM can’t wait six months for power and water. In those six months, a Jolteon or an Edison can ramp up and expand their production at existing facilities, putting them out of business before they even start. Even if we had a ready site, who will work there? Our unemployment rate is actually lower than the national average. Our existing industries are already fighting for our meager supply of skilled workers. There’s no point in creating jobs if there is no one to fill them, or if filling them will cause other jobs to be cut. There’s no quick and easy fix you can throw money at when population is the problem. It’s a tired cliche, but in a way it’s true: you should invest in what you have. Our commissioners, city or district level, should focus their efforts and our tax dollars on improving our facilities and services now. When you do that, you create a more marketable product. A place where people want to live, to start families, to start a business. Industry will follow organically. In short, if the people come, then we can build it. a ADVERTISEMENT Edited July 5 by Overthinkers Zoran, Federation of Inner Ryxtylopia, Nouveau and 2 others
Bran Astor
The Wendigo by Ivar Taul In chambers draped with guilt's oppressive pall, Where stolen joys like phantoms come and fall, I sit, a wretch by specters dire possessed, Love's ghosts, a chilling, vengeful, spectral guest. She came the first, with eyes of cerulean blue, A memory of passion, fierce and true. Her touch, once fire, now sent a glacial shock, Her voice, a whisper, "Love, upon this rock..." Then came the next, with raven tresses unbound, A storm of passion on forbidden ground. Her kiss, once warmth, now left my soul bereft, Her sigh, a whisper, "Love, forever kept..." With each pale shade, a lover from the past, The embers of desire diminish fast. Their hollow eyes, with sorrow filled and keen, Reflect the wasteland where my heart has been. No warmth remains, no embers dare to glow, Just arctic silence in this spectral show. They strip me bare, each phantom, cold and white, Leaving a husk where passion burned so bright. Oh, cursed be stolen love, a fleeting dream, For vengeance walks in shadows, whispers scream. A frozen heart, a monument to sin, This is the price for pleasures I let win. The final shade approaches, veiled in mist, A lover's face, forever unkissed. My own reflection, with eyes of hollow blight, A chilling whisper, "Lost in endless night." Federation of Inner Ryxtylopia
An Awkward Interview Before leaving the hotel Tivarra usually took an interview with the ryxtylopian press about the game, and he didn't really enjoy taking theese interviews too much. Luckily for him the TVNC filmcrew that were supposed to show up at that hour in the hotel had suffered a delay and phoned him that they wouldn't be able to show up, which for Tivarra was great news! He would be able to talk with the players instead of the press and leave earlier. Unfortunatley for him, as they were boarding the bus, the press showed up, without much notice they had apparently fixed the issue they had, Tivarra after much dialogue was convinced to take the interview in front of the bus, with a tiny plastic table and chair to go along with it, and during the interview about the match he was clearly not very happy. [Reporter]: Alright, so Coach, how do you think the match will turn out? [Tivarra]: It will turn out just fine. [Reporter]: Do you have any doubts about the team's performance for this match? [Tivarra]: No. The reporters stand akwardly awaiting for further elaboration that didn't come from a visually frustrated Tivarra. [Reporter 2]: Do you belive Einherfell can still cause an upset in the group despite already being eliminated? [Tivarra]: No. ... [Reporter 3]: What about the team's performance in the last game, do you think the result from last game will impact the result that will be obtained from this game? [Tivarra]: No. ... [Reporter]: Uh... and would you say team morale has been consistant through the group stage? [Tivarra]: Yes. ... [Reporter 3]: What about cohesion, has the team commited any major mistakes when it comes to cohesion in the last 2 games, or no? [Tivarra]: No. ... It was obvious he was just going to answer "yes" or "no" to each question. [Reporter 2]: Do you think the team will be able to defeat any of the potential rivals in the round of 16? [Tivarra]: Yes. ... [Reporter]: Has your emotions or personal feelings had any impact on the team. [Tivarra]: No. ... [Reporter 3]: Yes? [Tivarra]: No. [Reporter 3]: No? [Tivarra]: Yes. [Reporter 3]: Yes?! [Tivarra]: No. ... ... ... [Tivarra]: That will be all...? [Reporter]: N- [Reporter 3]: Yes. [Tivarra]: Alright, now do excuse me. Tivarra walks away to the bus, with the first reporter looking with an angry expression at the third. [Reporter]: You dummy! you actual dummy!! did you even pay attention to the question he asked us?! [Reporter 3]: No. The first reporter quickly starts to yell at his co-worker as the signal cuts out showing the bus driving off to the stadium. Clarkov
Jeremy Clarkson: Hello and welcome, viewers. There's an idea that we meet up with three cars here in Cangham. The most populous settlement in Overthinkers. Apparently. But immediately, we've run into a problem. [Bureaucracy Stig shows a car to the viewers with May leaning on it with a smile.] Jeremy Clarkson: This is the Nishida something-or-other from Min-Su that James will be driving. [Bureaucracy Stig moves the camera so the viewers can see Clarkson sitting on his car looking proud of himself.] Jeremy Clarkson: This is the Lampadati... er... owned by XALCM... from Larxia that I'll be driving. [Bureaucracy Stig moves the camera again, to a parking space.] Jeremy Clarkson: And this is an empty space where Hammond's Deben-Martyniuk Valkyrie should have been. Richard Hammond: It isn't here because Deben-Martyniuk, the people who make the Valkyrie alongside other cars like the Vantage, DB12 and Valour, have said we're always horrid with their cars, and they decided at the last MINUTE not to lend us one. Jeremy Clarkson: Now if this was a normal car challenge, we'd just make a Valiant out of leaves or something. James May: Yes, or push Hammond off there, and carry on without him. [May points to where a large drop is.] Jeremy Clarkson: Exactly. But we decided to show Deben-Martyniuk- James May: In a factual and non-entertaining way. Jeremy Clarkson: -Oh, absolutely. That Hertfordshire-Jammbo is not just a snow-bound field in the corner of Andolia, and we will not be pushed around by a 2-bit car company. [A few hours later...] Richard Hammond: This is a Deben-Martyniuk Valhalla that I've just bought. Yeah! Thought you could stop us, did you? Because of demand for these cars back home, I've had to pay Δ51,000 which is Δ10,000 more than the list price. But all the same, I reckon that's not a lot for 998h/p and a sound that can start ice storms. Oh yeah. [Hammond arrives to where Clarkson and May are.] Jeremy Clarkson: That's, er, that's subtle. [Clarkson laughs a bit.] Jeremy Clarkson: Now that we're all assembled, we'll break out the map. We have to go from here in Cangham to Hestmere which sounds like it was founded by a bunch of Hertmerians, through Foren and Occida to Aurum, and then south via Exvia to Anders before returning to Cangham via Bellman. It is in effect a tour through all the host settlements of this Rugby World Cup. James has organised it. James May: Now this does mean we will be missing the match with Varanius. Richard Hammond: We're against Rivalfiume James. James May: Oh. Richard Hammond: Yep. so expect to see Julian, Shizune and Reimu as certainties for the line-up. They're the first choice members anyway. Jeremy Clarkson: Now remember you two. No irony, no hyperbole, no sarcasm and don't get caught in red tape. Richard Hammond: Can I crash into James every time we stop? Jeremy Clarkson: No. Richard Hammond: Just a tiny bi- Jeremy Clarkson: NO! Richard Hammond: Alright. Jeremy Clarkson: If Hammond drives into the back of May, a muscular bureaucrat from Backwater Affairs of an IT firm will come at us with an occasional pile of MP4-12C files and we shall all be killed! Teralyon
Teralyon Triumphs Over Fujai with a 6-0 Victory In an electrifying match at the Fifth Annual Rugby World Cup, hosted in Overthinkers, Teralyon secured a commanding 6-0 victory over Fujai. This win marks another impressive performance by the team, maintaining their unbeaten streak in the tournament and reinforcing their status as formidable contenders. Match Highlights The match against Fujai was a showcase of Teralyon's defensive prowess and strategic gameplay. The only points of the game came from two penalty kicks successfully converted by Teralyon's star fly-half, Visnja Dvorkin. Despite several attempts and pecs, Fujai was unable to penetrate Teralyon's rock-solid defense, leading to a shutout that left their opponents scoreless. Captain Zivko Koci, leading by example, commented on the victory: "Our defense was stellar today. Fujai is a strong team, but we stuck to our game plan and executed it perfectly. We’re thrilled with this win and are now fully focused on our next challenge" Upcoming Challenge Teralyon's next opponent in the Rugby World Cup is Sekiya, a team with a record of two wins and two losses in the tournament. Sekiya has shown resilience and determination in their matches, making them a worthy adversary for Teralyon. Rugby analysts are anticipating a fiercely competitive match between Teralyon and Sekiya. Teralyon’s unblemished record and strong defense give them an edge, but Sekiya’s unpredictability and tenacity cannot be overlooked. Analyst Vedran Nolovic noted, "Teralyon’s defense will once again be the focal point. If they can maintain their form and keep Sekiya’s aggressive forwards at bay, they stand a strong chance of winning. However, Sekiya’s ability to adapt and their quick counter-attacks could pose challenges for Teralyon" Keys to Victory For Teralyon, maintaining a disciplined defense and capitalizing on scoring opportunities through set pieces and penalty kicks will be crucial. Visnja Dvorkin’ accuracy with the boot and Zivko Koci’s leadership on the field will be key factors in their strategy. Sekiya, on the other hand, will need to focus on breaking through Teralyon’s defensive line and minimizing errors. Quick ball movement and exploiting any gaps in Teralyon’s defense will be essential for their success. As the anticipation builds for the Teralyon vs. Sekiya clash, fans from both sides are eagerly awaiting what promises to be an exciting and hard-fought match. Teralyon’s quest to remain unbeaten continues, while Sekiya seeks to turn their tournament around with a statement victory. Saint Mark
The coach was saying, "When Michael runs, it creates an extra player in the line. So exploit that to create gaps between the opposition 10 and open-side flanker at the scrum. This play should be used from a left-side scrum. The angles run here will give the back-line options to attack their weakest tackler or take the ball wide. In practice, we started by running this move at half pace and without any defense. Then, we added a defense, comprising a four-man back-line and an open-side flanker. First, Paul passes to Michael, who will run around from the left side of the scrum. Then Michael has options to pass to Rudolph or Celerio. Either one should call if they feel the pass is on. Rudolph runs out and then cuts in on a hard line toward the outside shoulder of their 10. Celerio tracks behind 10 and then 12 to run on 12’s outside shoulder. Nelson runs behind 12 to be in a position to pass deep to Blaze. Alan runs out and then cuts in to connect with 11 or 12. Blaze and Christopher stay deep to offer the outside option but must be ready to support Alan." The team was gathered in the locker room and paying close attention to Coach Rahl. Their match against Zoran had been disappointing, but not unexpected, but their latest win had given them hope. They weren't doing quite as well as they had last year, but they weren't out of the running either. Everything hung on this next match against Arifiyyah. Saint Mark
"Sweetheart, I'm serious, if Arifiyyah beats the Lions, we're not going there for our honeymoon." "What!? That's ridiculous! Arifiyyah is beautiful, the Royal Palms is exquisite, and all of the arrangements are already made! Don't be petty, Hugo." "I'm not being petty. I won't feel comfortable there if we lose to them and are knocked out of contention because of it. I'm sure reporters will find us somehow and be relentless in asking how I feel. It'll ruin everything." "Ugh! You drive me crazy sometimes! Do you really think anyone will even care about the Lions once these games are over?" "Wow. I can't believe you said that." "I'm sorry, honey. I know how important they are to you. I shouldn't have said that." "But I guess that's what you think, though, right? I'll see you for dinner later with your parents. Bran Astor
A Mother and Wife By Ivar Taul In moonlit whispers, draped in shadows deep, A mother mourns, where regret bids her weep. A chilling wind sighs through the barren tree, A constant echo of what used to be. He was a stalwart, strong and ever true, A love that promised skies of endless blue. But foolish pride, a siren's tempting song, Lured me to darkness, where I now belong. They called him dull, his ways devoid of spark, But love's true flame burns steady in the dark. My heart, a moth, was drawn to fleeting light, Now lost in shadows, withering in night. The blame, it settles, heavy as a shroud, Not on my choices, but his voice too loud. He held me captive, stifled all my dreams, A gilded cage, so love it never seems. My children, blessed with innocence so bright, Reflect a past I cast into the night. Perhaps within their eyes, his shadow sleeps, A constant reminder where true passion weeps. The moon descends, a cruel and watchful eye, As vengeance stirs, a chilling lullaby. Their happiness, a mockery of mine, A twisted love, a bond that will entwine. Let whispers turn to nightmares, soft and sly, Let doubt take root, where trusting dreams once lie. Their love, once pure, will wither in my wake, A twisted echo for the choice I make. Beware, my darlings, love's a fickle friend, A cruel deceiver with a bitter end. In shadows I will lurk, a spider black, And claim the hearts I foolishly turned back. Federation of Inner Ryxtylopia
Saturday 6 - 07 - 1424 No. 143 - 50 RYXES CHACAS NEW STADIUM NEARS COMPLETION - THE RUGBY REVOLUTION IN RYXTYLOPIA Pinilaca, Pestalpa: The new stadium for Chacas Rugby Clube, in Pinilaca is nearly done, a complex that has spent the last 4 years under construction while chacas have been playing in the Istadio Cairrina for the last 5 years during the construction of their new complex. However those 4 years playing in a smaller stadium for a club of their size seems to be over and the reigning champions of the Liga di Rugby A will soon have a new place to call home, north of their current location but still falling near the coast in Pinilaca, the new complex will have a capacity of around 50,000 spectators, as well as having roofs over the seating areas, a commodity Chacas old complex in Dirvaxes - the Istadio Andreís Viscreindía, which while having a decent capacity for 30,000 people, is quickly becomming outdated, with no roof, and a field progne to flooding during storms, as well as being a generally uncomfortable complex. The new stadium is still being named, but it will be a massive upgrade not just for Chacas, but for the entire city, which lacks modern sporting infrastructure, as the stadium won't be only used for rugby events; it will serve as a multi-porpuse arena for rugby and football, as well as hosting boxing competitions, and concerts, a true multi-porpuse venue that will be available for many sporting and social events. Chacas have partially funded the stadium, with their main sponsors being BANCOPE a major bank in Ryxtylopia and UltraGas a petroleum company, as well as those two, they include some international sponsors and a grant from the government that aided them in construction, this project unlike many others did not go too overbudget, being driven mainly by the private sector. The proyect has become the most expensive proyect in the history of the state, with the current cost of construction being around 19 billion ryxes, but despite the high pricetag it has shown that rugby in Ryxtylopia is undergoing a major transformation, as its seeing a massive increase in popularity thanks to the 4th and 5th Rugby World Cups, where Ryxtylopia has seen great success in demonstrating the quality of ryxtylopian sports, and of our rugby players. This so called "Rugby Revolution" may be able to shake the stagnant rugby league in Ryxtylopia, as sources indicate smaller clubs may get bought out by foreign companies looking to capitalize on the growth of the sport, which could upset the current "monopoly" Chacas RC, and Trinchanacó RC hold over the ryxtylopian rugby league, a "monopoly" that has held for the last 20-ish years. Reactions to the construction of the complex have been mainly positive, with the exception of locals in the area (and the fans of Chacas rivals), locals in the area claim this stadium will elevate the land value, which may lead to higher rent prices for people who rent housing there, and also may lead to other infrastructure proyects in the area which will turn a middle-class suburb of Pinilaca into a high-class one, a move that a lot of the residents don't support. There are also concerns about the traffic that the stadium will bring in during matchdays, considering its elevated capacity and the poor state of roads leading into the area where the stadium is being built. Nontheless the public reaction has been mainly positive, and this may be the first stone moved in the Ryxtylopian Rugby Revolution of the 1420's, that could entireley change the face of the sport in this mainly neglected corner of the Auran continent. RYXTYLOPIA ACHIEVES FIRST IN RWC5 GROUP - AWAITING NEXT MATCH AGAINST NOUVAUTERRA Overthinkers: The ARR are currently in their second participation in the Rugby World Cup, the current edition in Overthinkers currently being a great success for the ARR, as "The Pirate" has achieved the qualification for the round of 16 and has also secured qualification in C1, being several points away from second place in group C - Zoran. Theese news have been received with joy from ryxtylopipan fans, and celebrations are begining, as despite still having one game left, Ryxtylopia will leave its group in 1st place, no matter the result of the last game of the group where the Pirate will face Nouveauterra. As for Ryxtylopia's rival in the round of 16, its still up in the air, Ryxtylopia will face the 4th placed team in group B, currently being Sekiya, but the ARR could also face newcomers Zhiznovsk, or Nieubasria if they can get enough bonus points to favor them. Sekiya currently holds a lead over the two other teams being 1 point over Zhiznovsk and 4 points over Nieubasria. Sekiya and Nieubasria will face eachother in the last day while Zhiznovsk will face current 3rd placed: United Adaikes. As of now it seems that the Pirates will face Sekiya, but they could be dealt an upset by Nieubasria if they are not careful, Sekiya does have the easiest road to qualifying as if they win, they will most likley be in unless Zhiznovsk obtains enough bonus points. As for Zhiznovsk they probably have a tougher path; they will need to win against UA, and hope to get enough bonus points, or have Sekiya lose their game. Nieubasria probably has the hardest road to qualify, they must beat Sekiya to have any chance to qualify, and hope Zhiznovsk lose their game, as well as this, they'll need to get bonus points from their game against Sekiya to qualify, but if the results go their way they'll be in. Whilst Ryxtylopia's opponent is still up in the air, team morale is high, especially if they retain their current winstreak, and the team's objective is clear: outdo their result from RWC4, it will be a hard road for them but they'll have plenty of support both in and outside Ryxtylopia. VYNITINÁ - ¿IS IT AS MISERABLE AS THE STEREOTYPE HAS YOU BELIVE? THE DEBATE CONTINUES Vynitiná, Yilanit: The 2nd most populated city in Ryxtylopia: Vynitiná, has a bad stereotype that it cannot shake, propagated in social media by the newer generations: "Vynitiná is a miserable and disgusting place to live in." this old stereotype has existed since the 1370's and 80's and has survived to the modern day, but how? A recent independent study has shown that around 3 in every 5 ryxtylopians have a negative view of Vynitiná ¿Why is that? The negative perception of Vynitiná is mainly due to it being seen as a "poor" and "industrial" city, and many of theese stereotypes, while exaggerated aren't too far from the truth. Vynitiná is one of the most industrially polluted cities in Ryxtylopia and even in Aura, as it still relies heavily on manufacturing, unlike Ryxenia which moved to other industries during the 1400's and 1410's, mainly services, meaning the reliance on industry there has dropped. This has not been the case for Vynitiná which unlike cities in Saxatí and the D.A.F. has remained industrial, and the low cost of labor there has lead to continued industrial investment in the city, mainly into the manufacturing sector, and industry there accounts for a large portion of Ryxtylopia's industrial exports, with the port of Vynitiná being one of Ryxtylopia's most important. Vynitiná by no means is a "poor" city, but it is under the national wealth avarage, and is characterized for slums, and lower income housing, which doesn't help with ridding the city of the stereotypes that haunt it, pollution is rampant, and even the city centre can be filled with smog on ocations, the pollution has been classed as the cities number 1 issue, and has lead to several cases of lung diseases, as well as other diseases from unsanitary water, the citie's water supply can get being contaminated depending on the area where its collected from. All of theese factors have lead to Vynitiná becomming more than a city, a meme in ryxtylopian social media and an example of "where it all goes wrong" a "poor and dirty place" where nobody in gods earth wants to live. Zoran
As of last night on July 6, 1424, Queen Atsila has given partial consent to the latest tax bill passed by the iyundai. The "Childlessness Tax," as it has been called, came as a surprise for many as it was proposed by the Junaluskanist Party and the Brave Talon Party, the radical ends of both side of the political spectrum in Zoran. I read through the bill, as amended after the Queen's vetos and here is what I found. The tax is a progressive tax on wages and dividends for most childless men from the ages of twenty-five to fifty years of age and most childless women from twenty to forty-five years of age. The amount paid by an individual depends on several factors such as annual income, assets, property, etc. said individual has. While many are concerned about the tax it must be said that there are certain exceptions. Students can apply for an exemption on the tax as well as anyone who makes less than a certain amount of adelv a month. The tax even takes into account medical conditions as those who are infertile are also exempt from this tax if they can provide proper medical documentation. Those who have also taken a religious vow of celibacy can apply for an exemption from the tax as well. It is well known that this tax was created to ensure that Zoran maintains its high fertility and birth rate but many are skeptical about how effective it would be. Critics argue that the tax puts unnecessary financial pressure on the youth and would result in a decrease in population growth. Supporters of the tax argue that the tax revenue can be used to provide even more services in social security and healthcare which can improve the quality of life in the country. However, the reasons given by the political parties on this topic are more ideological rather than practical. Junaluska of the Junaluskanist Party stated that the tax would "provide more fighters for the revolution" and that the tax would be progressive rather than regressive. His reason for this is that the "bourgeoisie have the money to have the choice of not having children to support themselves, such is the way of the ruling class and not the proletariate of Zoran." The Brave Talons, on the other hand, have argued that this tax will support "traditional family values" which have been "corrupted by the foreign influences that exerted control through the Zoranian corporates." It must also be noted that many of the vetoed articles of the tax were articles written by the Brave Talons Party that would bar LGBTQ+ people from adopting or having access to methods that would allow them to have children. Whether or not this will be a benefit or detriment on Zoranian society is to be seen and will be investigated in the coming years. Um, when you go to a car showroom now, the salesman will try and sell you lots of electronic bits and bobs for your car. Here's our top tip: don't bother with any of them! 'Cause they don't work, any of them. James May: Minttooth. Jeremy Clarkson: Minttooth. James May: Minttooth never works. Jeremy Clarkson: Hammond uses it and it's like he's sitting at the bottom of a river that's frozen over. [Clarkson covers his mouth and makes a muffled sound to demonstrate what he means.] Richard Hammond: Well, to be fair, sometimes I am. Jeremy Clarkson: Shall I tell you the thing that doesn't work most of all? Voice activation. James May: Oh...! Richard Hammond: Oh that's just a shouting match with the- Jeremy Clarkson: No, 'cause you're driving along, you don't have to take your hands off the wheel, you go 'Call Richard Hammond.'. Richard Hammond: 'Collapsing suspension.'. Jeremy Clarkson: It does! ...What are you doing? It's misunderstood me. 'Call. Richard. Hammond.'. Richard Hammond: 'Deflating tyres.'. Jeremy Clarkson: That's-! It's...! [May can't help but laugh.] Richard Hammond: I didn't say that. Jeremy Clarkson: 'Reinflate tyres!'. James May: 'Calling Richard Hammond.'. [Clarkson laughs too.] Jeremy Clarkson: It's just, the problem is, is that in the olden days when I first came out, voice activation was just for the radio or for the satellite navigation, something simple. Now it's for every single feature on the car and in your life, and it has to understand every accent in all of Hertfordshire-Jammbo, so it's 'Good evening each', or 'Och Aye The New' or it's 'Hullo chaps', and it's- it just- it- it just can't cope! So if you're driving along and go 'Atrium Radio.'. Richard Hammond: 'Accessing bank account.'. [May and Clarkson break into hysterics.] Richard Hammond: No-ooo! 'Transferring funds.'. God no DON'T! James May: It's just... can you imagine the Tsar trying to use voice activation? Jeremy Clarkson: That'll end well. James May: 'Send this Miko/shrine maiden's support message via email to The Youkai.'. Jeremy Clarkson: 'Sending assassins and Clarkson after Prince Marcarius.'. [May once more bursts into hysterics.] Richard Hammond: Or better still, if Mecislavs tries to send a voicemail. Jeremy Clarkson: I'll pretend to be the Tsar for a moment - 'Send this message to the Verkhovna Anglia: I have ratified your proposal for an illegal immigrant deportation bill and will pass it into law'. Richard Hammond: 'Sending this message to the Stavka: You're all idiots and your stupid Path is ruining my day.'. [Clarkson this time laughs his metaphorical socks off.] James May: Oh, don't send that! Richard Hammond: 'Declaring war on Dalimbar.'. [All three this time laugh the hardest they ever have.] Jeremy Clarkson: I don't think voice activation is going to work any time soon. Nouveau
Quote Our war among brothers was not only because of a great divide in ideological positions. We fought because of foolish ambition. The late Tyrant Adrien Lyon plunged our country into darkness when he proclaimed that he would rule absolutely until his death, and that no person could stop him. Many in the country were divided on the issue of the Xenoxeno, and on whether the President had absolute authority to issue mandates within the country. Gatherings and riots broke out in many cities. Maximi like myself, such as Monsieur Gambon and Monsieur Larchemont were concerned that the army of the republic was at risk of being forced upon the populace to control it, as had happened in the Brandy Uprisings of some forty years ago. And many Xenoxeno men and women, whom I have had the pleasure of knowing, were having their rights curtailed because of an absolute mandate set by President Carlous Charibert elected some eighteen years ago. These issues could have been solved in good time through debate and statecraft. In fact I had spearheaded an effort to have these issues discussed in the Grande Assemblee. However, Adrien Lyon in his rapacious opportunism wanted to use those issues to gain absolute power. Prime Minister Yves Charron pleaded with Adrien Lyon to not go about with his drafted mandates: absolute control of the army of the republic, absolute control of law enforcement in the country, absolute control of the judiciary. A king in everything but name. Lyon did not listen. He gathered his alike minded fellows in the Army of the Republic, in the Grande Assemblee, and in society before he announced his Proclamation for the Absolute Mandate of the Presidency. He was wise in garnering support among the most powerful actors he could find, though he did not take into account that there were others who wouldn’t be so easily defeated. Maximus Gambon, Maximus Larchemont and I sat in a small teahouse near la Place Héros to discuss the President’s next move, when a gang of Lyonnots descended on us to arrest us. They were military men in uniform, with rifles and bayonets who had turned coats for the enemies of the state. Through incredible luck and our expertise, we cut them down and shot them like stray dogs. We knew that because of this, Lyon was attempting the same thing elsewhere. We rushed to the Ministry of Defense and found mutineers put in the brig, and the Minister of Defense Pierre Nancy himself searching for any loyal men in the Army. We told him we must secure the Citadelle, if five thugs with guns had already tried to arrest us. Burgess Nancy gave us a contingent of 300 men to secure the Citadelle. We made our way to la Citadelle de la République, and came across the sight of mutineers and traitors holding up at gunpoint a great many members of the Assemblee, unaware of the conspiracy. A shoot ensued as the Assemblee was desecrated with blood and steel. I led my contingent of 100 up the stairs of the Lower Assembly Hall and took control of the viewing gallery, where we shot at the mutineers with great accuracy. The Devil Lyon, watching his men lose the fight, escaped with his retinue of thieves. Once calm had settled in the Assemblee, I read out the declaration of war against Lyon himself, and enemies of the state. Prime Minister Charron became President Charron, and the distinguished Councillor from La Passage Cato Eurastas became the acting Prime Minister. Larchemont, Gambon, and myself became head generals of the ensuing war. - an excerpt from the chapter "The Upheaval" from the memoir "My Personal Account of the War," by Maximus Ter Servilius, 1260, Witt & Ecklund Zoran, United Adaikes, Saint Mark and 2 others
Larxia
The Turning Point: Larxia's Rugby World Cup Journey Hinges on Crucial Clash with Cambria As the Rugby World Cup progresses, the stakes for Larxia have never been higher. The team finds itself in a precarious position, sitting third in their group with a record of 3 wins and 2 losses. With only one game left in the group stages, Larxia's hopes of advancing to the Round of 16 hinge on a must-win match against the formidable Cambrian team from Polaris. The Build-Up The journey so far has been a rollercoaster of emotions for the players, coaches, and fans alike. From the exhilaration of their early victories to the sobering reality of their losses, the team has faced a mix of triumph and adversity. The narrow point differential-only +4 -underscores just how close their matches have been, a testament to their resilience and determination. Inside the Locker Room Behind the scenes, the atmosphere in the Larxian camp is a blend of anticipation and steely resolve. Head coach Marcus Fellini, known for his tactical acumen and motivational prowess, has been working tirelessly to prepare his squad for the crucial encounter. "We've come this far together, and it's all about belief now," Fellini told us in an exclusive interview. "The boys know what's at stake, and they're ready to give it everything they've got." The Players' Perspective For the players, the journey to this point has been deeply personal. Team captain and star flanker, Jasper Hawke, spoke candidly about the emotional toll of the campaign. "Every game feels like a battle, not just on the field but mentally as well," Hawke said. "We've faced our fair share of challenges, but each one has made us stronger. This upcoming match is no different—it's do or die." Hawke's words resonate with the team, especially for young winger Eli Thorne, who has emerged as one of the breakout stars of the tournament. His electrifying pace and fearless play have been a revelation, earning him admiration from fans and pundits alike. "For me, it's a dream come true to be here, representing Larxia on the world stage," Thorne shared. "But dreams require hard work, and we're ready to put in that work against Cambria." The Opponents Cambria, hailing from Polaris, is a rugby powerhouse known for their physicality and strategic prowess. Their position in the group standings is a testament to their dominance. However, Larxia has faced tough opponents before and emerged victorious, drawing on their tenacity and teamwork. "We respect Cambria, but we don't fear them," Hawke asserted. "We've analyzed their strengths and weaknesses, and we have a game plan to exploit them." The Fans' Faith As the nation holds its breath, the support from Larxian fans has been unwavering. From the bustling streets of Larxopolis to the quiet villages in the countryside, a palpable sense of pride and hope unites everyone. "Seeing the boys fight on the field, it makes us all proud to be Larxian," said Sofia Renzi, a lifelong fan who traveled to watch the games in person. "No matter what happens, we stand with them." The Final Countdown As the match against Cambria looms, the pressure is immense, but so is the opportunity. For Larxia, this game is more than just a chance to advance—it's a moment to define their legacy in the Rugby World Cup. In the end, whether they emerge victorious or fall short, the journey of the Larxian team will be remembered not just for the results, but for the heart, spirit, and unity they displayed. As they prepare to face Cambria, one thing is certain: they will leave everything on the field, fighting for their dreams and the pride of their nation. Overthinkers
Adrina Gale Adrina Gale Official character art from the Mandrake Press website. Creator Celine Ivers First appearance Adrina Gale, Captain of the Namora (1365) Most recent appearance Left in Dead Horse Pass (Adrina Gale: Uncharted #3, 1424) Rights owned by Mandrake Press For the LBC television special, see Adrina Gale (TV special). Adrina Gale is a fictional character created by author Celine Ivers who appears in a number of adventure-mystery young adult novels. The series follows the eponymous Gale, a teenage girl from Aurum, who inherited a large sailing vessel from her late father and encounters various criminal conspriacies while trying to maintain the family tradition. Gale first appeared in Adrina Gale, Captain of the Namora, published in 1365. Ivers followed it with Adrina Gale in: The Ghost Freighter in 1368. She wrote a total of 22 Adrina books before her death in 1383. The company Nuteself bought the rights to the property and produced a second series, Adrina Gale: Eastern Star, which included 12 books by various authors from 1401–14. Mandrake Press, after acquiring the property in 2015, has released 3 books to date of the newest series, Adrina Gale: Uncharted, written by Lorelei Ivers. Readers are divided on whether to recognize either spinoff as part of the greater series, particularly Eastern Star. Premise With the exception of Adrina Gale in: The Shortest Voyage (#19), each story in the series involve Adrina and the crew of her ship unintentionally becoming involved in a mystery—almost exclusively set in the Viatic Ocean off the coast of Overthinkers or throughout the Darkesian Sea, and in surrounding ports—and providing some kind of material help that cracks the case for authorities. This has taken the form of discovering clues, stealing critical information, going undercover, and even subduing and capturing criminals. The Shortest Voyage sharply departed from the prior formula with a survival adventure, as Adrina becomes stranded in the Darkesian alone in a lifeboat. In it, Adrina is forced to confront many of her personal anxieties and motivations. Celine Ivers’ version of the character is described as “clever” and “not fearless, but brave”. Adrina’s Antali heritage is important to her, and is said to give her a “solemn reverence for the sea”. Occasionally, she is said to sense the presence of her late father, or of further removed ancestors, in times of inner turmoil. History Original Release Adrina Gale, Captain of the Namora was Celine Ivers’ fourth published novel, and her second with publisher Cooleg Books. It was her first to appear on the National Inquisition bestseller list, reaching #5. Ivers once stated that it was intended to be a standalone book, but its success—as well as her affinity for the character—persuaded her to “continue the story.” The series was well received upon release throughout Overthinkers, records from the Overthinkers Department of Libraries indicate. However, the only recognition it received in Ivers’ lifetime was as a Dourman Award Finalist for The Shortest Voyage in 1381. Ivers was posthumously inducted into the National Literary Hall of Fame in 1385. In 1386, Samwright-Carter (who had bought out Cooleg) republished all 22 books as a “Premium Collection”. All 200,000 units were sold within the year. Acquisition by Nuteself and Eastern Star In 1399, Nuteself, an Overthinkers-based company that primarily published translated Zoranian manga, bought the rights to the IP. In 1401, they released the first in a reboot series, Adrina Gale: Eastern Star. The twelfth and final Eastern Star story was published in 1414. Eastern Star proved controversial for a number of reasons. Fans of the original series found Adrina’s new characterization to be comparatively weak and shallow. While the original focused on adventure and intrigue, the reboot stories mixed it with teen drama and angst. Critics observed that Nuteself’s depiction of Adrina—written exclusively by male authors, three over the course of the series—was vaguely sexist and all but overtly sensual. One particular critic noted, with great disdain, that “the author of this book has never seen a boat save for his daddy’s yacht.” Despite the controversy, Nuteself succeeded in selling the new series to a different audience. That is, until legal trouble derived from both business matters (unrelated to Adrina Gale) and non-business matters (majority owner Cale Ligna’s involvement in a high-level financial conspiracy) forced the company to file for bankruptcy in late 2015. Post-Nuteself In 2014, the Leander Broadcasting Company produced a four-part television special, which aired on LBC One in October of that year. While sharing the same name and protagonist, the TV special was largely disconnected from any existing lore and involved no other recurring characters. Thematically, the “vague mysticism” of Ivers’ books was exaggerated into “something fully supernatural”, according to one thread on an official fan forum. Following Nuteself’s bankruptcy, the rights to Adrina Gale were bought by Mandrake Press, a respected name in YA fiction. Mandrake promised to return creative control of the property to the Ivers estate. In 2019, the first volume of Adrina Gale: Uncharted was released, written by Celine’s great-niece, Lorelei Ivers. In an interview, Lorelei confirmed that Eastern Star is not considered canon to Uncharted. Rather, it is set a few years after the events of the original series, with Adrina as an adult and pursing more extreme natural phenomena Federation of Inner Ryxtylopia, United Adaikes, Saint Mark and 2 others 3
Teralyon
Teralyon Continues Undefeated Streak In a stunning display of skill and determination, the Teralyon team continued their undefeated streak in the Fifth Annual Rugby World Cup by overpowering Sekiya with a decisive 36-10 win. From the opening whistle, Teralyon took control of the game. Their offense was relentless, with fly-half Visnja Dvorkin again leading the charge, scoring two tries and successfully converting three penalties. The team’s cohesive play and strategic execution left Sekiya struggling to keep up. Sekiya managed to score a try and convert a penalty, but it wasn’t enough to challenge Teralyon’s overwhelming performance. The final score of 36-10 reflected Teralyon’s superior gameplay and tactical advantage. Captain Zivko Koci praised his team’s efforts, saying, “We played with great intensity and focus today. Every player gave their best, and it showed in our performance but we must remain vigilant and not let this victory lead to complacency.” Facing New Velka As Teralyon prepares for their next match, they will be up against New Velka, a team that has struggled throughout the tournament, losing all five matches they’ve played. Despite New Velka’s poor record, the Teralyon team remains cautious and focused. New Velka has had a challenging run in the Rugby World Cup, failing to secure a win in their matches. Their defense has been porous, and their offense has lacked the sharpness needed to compete this cup. However, they are known for their unpredictable play and resilience, qualities that can sometimes surprise even the most prepared opponents. Importance of Vigilance Despite their dominant performance and New Velka’s underwhelming record, the Teralyon team is wary of the dangers of assumptions and complacency. Coach Maldoc Wenavic emphasized this in his pre-match briefing, “We cannot afford to underestimate any opponent. New Velka may have had a tough tournament, but that makes them unpredictable and dangerous. We need to stay sharp and focused.” Analyst Vedran Nolovic echoed these sentiments, “Teralyon’s biggest challenge now is maintaining their mental edge. It’s easy to fall into the trap of overconfidence, especially against a team with a poor record. The key will be to approach the game with the same intensity and discipline they’ve shown so far.” Keys to Victory For Teralyon, the strategy remains clear: maintain their robust defense, capitalize on scoring opportunities, and avoid unnecessary risks. New Velka, on the other hand, will need to find a way to break through Teralyon’s defense and minimize their own mistakes. Their best chance lies in playing an unpredictable and aggressive game, hoping to catch Teralyon off guard. As Teralyon gears up for their next match, fans and analysts alike are eagerly watching to see if they can continue their unbeaten run. The team’s awareness of the potential pitfalls of complacency suggests they are mentally prepared for the challenge ahead. Stay tuned for more updates as the Rugby World Cup progresses and Teralyon strives to maintain their perfect record against New Velka. Once a niche sport, it has now become a favorite pastime for both locals and tourists, transforming the picturesque beaches into vibrant hubs of activity and excitement. The Perfect Conditions The southern coastline offers ideal conditions for windsurfing, with its consistent winds and clear, warm waters. These natural advantages have always been present, but recent efforts to promote the sport have brought them into the spotlight. Local windsurfing schools have reported a sharp increase in enrollments, and rental shops are thriving as more people take to the waves. Beachgoer Cara Jenis shared her excitement, "I tried windsurfing for the first time last summer, and I was hooked immediately. The feeling of gliding over the water is incredible. It's great to see so many people enjoying it now." Community Efforts and Events The revival of windsurfing can be attributed to a concerted effort by the local community and tourism board. Regular events and competitions are now held, drawing participants from across the region. These gatherings not only showcase the talent of seasoned windsurfers but also provide an opportunity for beginners to learn and enjoy the sport. Local windsurfing champion and instructor, Davor Tevinic, commented, "It's fantastic to see windsurfing making a comeback. We've been working hard to make it accessible to everyone, and the response has been amazing. The community here is very supportive, and we’re seeing a lot of new faces on the water." Economic and Environmental Impact The resurgence of windsurfing has also brought economic benefits to the Teralyon's southern region, most notably in Sarja. Increased tourism has led to a boom in local businesses, from surf shops to beachfront cafes and hotels. The sport's popularity is contributing to a more vibrant local economy, creating jobs and opportunities for residents. The focus on windsurfing aligns with Teralyon’s commitment to promoting eco-friendly activities. Unlike motorized water sports, windsurfing has minimal environmental impact, making it a sustainable option for adventure enthusiasts. A Bright Future for Windsurfing With its newfound popularity, the future of windsurfing on the southern Teralyon coastline looks promising. Plans are already underway to expand facilities and host international competitions, further cementing the region’s reputation as a premier water sports destination. Local officials are optimistic about the continued growth. Tourism Director Lilljana Mooric stated, "We’re thrilled with the revival of windsurfing. It’s a beautiful sport that brings people closer to nature and offers a fantastic way to enjoy our stunning coastline. We look forward to welcoming more windsurfing enthusiasts to Teralyon." As windsurfing rides the wave of resurgence, the southern coast of Teralyon is set to become a beacon for those seeking adventure, community, and a deeper connection with the sea. Mygrdiyah
NEWS: Day 6 Post-Match Interview - Mygrdiyah’s Yagyu Speaks After Loss Against Dalimbar By Naoya Nordheim | MNN Sports Correspondent | 5 July 1424 (26 minutes ago) In a much-anticipated moment from this year's World Cup in Overthinkers, the upstart Mygrdiyan national team was scheduled to face the reigning champions from Dalimbar earlier today. After four days of grueling competition and only one day of rest, many fans wondered how things would shake out as rugby giants clashed with a very young and motivated side from Mygrdiyah. While things didn't quite go the way that Coach Taue and his players had hoped, the team's captain says that a defeat at this point in the tournament is part of the process. Moments ago, our crew had the privilege of speaking to Haruo Yagyu in the dressing room after Mygrdiyah suffered a 21-12 defeat at the hands of Dalimbar. Here's what he had to say: Transcript: Yagyu: "Make no mistake. The tournament isn't over for us." "A loss is a loss. There are no excuses for our lackluster performance, but we still have a good chance to qualify past the group stage and we're not going to let that chance get away from us so easily. Honestly, I feel like we control our own destiny now, you know? I feel like it's up to us as a team to not panic and move past this." "We knew we'd have to play them at some point. Dalimbar, that is. Credit to them. They're a great squad full of talented players." Beads of sweat continue to drip down from the captain's hair and face as he speaks. Nordheim: "I'm sure it hasn't been easy for you guys. Do you think that the day of rest that you received played a part in your defeat tonight?" Yagyu: "No. I wouldn't say that." "We just had an off night and underperformed because of it. That much can happen to any team on any day, so our only choice is to move past it and look forward to our next match." Nordheim: "Would you say that there's anything to be learned from this outing, or do you intend to disregard it entirely as your team looks to move forward?" Yagyu: "Subconsciously, for sure. But it's not like it's the elephant in the room or anything. We were all out there. Each of us knows what happened, and now it's up to us to take what we can from that experience and use it as another reason for us to play better against Giovanniland." "Part of representing our country on a stage like this is taking responsibility, for both the good and the bad. I know that I'll be pushing harder at practice tomorrow and I'm sure that my teammates will hold themselves accountable for tonight's loss too." "We're a team. We win together and we lose together. But we won't quit after we've worked so hard to get here. I hope that even our biggest critics can respect that about us." The final match of the group stage for this year's rugby World Cup will be broadcast live on 7 July. Tune in on the MNN Sports channel. Federation of Inner Ryxtylopia
¡Strategy! ¿What's it good for? A lot of things apparently. Enjoying the top of the group is something not a lot of teams get to experience, and being qualified as the top team in the group with matches still left to play is also something only a few teams get to enjoy. But in this edition of the Rugby World Cup, Ryxtylopia had qualified as the group leader for the Round of 16 in the 6th matchday, for the 7th no matter the result they would keep first place in the group. But now the question was: ¿Who would be our rival in the next rounds? Looking ahead to plan out is a good thing to do, and that is what Tivarra had in mind when making one of his many lists: First off the rival for the round of 16, it would be the 4th placed team in group B and it could be one of three teams so far: SEKIYA: Probably one of the harder rivals the ARR could face in the round of 16, currently sitting in 4th. If they win their game, they're most likley through, characterized for being a VERY agressive team that is always on the attack - that could cost them when it comes to the retention of possetion but can also be a downside, placing more pressure on the defense. In case Ryxtylopia faces Sekiya the strategy would most likley be to lure them into making mistakes and keeping possetion away from them, to be able to push and force them on the defensive, something their playstyle isn't really about, in that case a victory while not easy, is very much possible. ZHIZNOVSK: An interesting rival due to their more or less balanced playstyle, similar to the ARR. They can get to 4th even if Sekiya wins, by gaining a bonus point in their game, but they depend more on Sekiya losing their game to be able to advance, they are probably the most balanced team in the competition, and could prove a hard-ish rival to face depending on how they go about with their game. In case Ryxtylopia faces Zhiznovsk the strategy would be to keep possetion and pressure, acting more agressivley than usual to hopefully keep Zhiznovsk on the backfoot, and prevent any of their attacks from even happening, as they'll probably rely on counter-attacking Ryxtylopia after failed attempts to score. NIEUBASRIA: Nearly eliminated but still in the competition. Nieubasria need things to go their way to salvage their campaign in this edition of the RWC, they face off against Sekiya, so they need to win or win, and get a bonus point, if they don't get the bonus point its over, they also need Zhiznovsk to loose, to make sure they don't surpass Sekiya in points, to make sure they can still have enough to squeeze through with a bonus point. They seem to lean on the agressive side, but their campaign in this RWC has left much to be desired, however they can still prove a strong team if they pass through the groups as shown in RWC4 when they beat Giovanniland in the round of 16 as "underdogs", the strategy here would be not necessarily play for possetion, as they can probably just take it back, but to make them waste as many chances to score as possible, and build up a strong attack. So far Ryxtylopia has had a relativley "easy" time in the groups, the games have been intense but the team is currently on a 5-game winning streak and is seeking out to keep it that way when they face Nouveauterra in the last day of the groups, however moving on from the groups the difficulty will only increase, but Tivarra knows it, ever since that elimination at the hands of the "Sharks" of United Adaikes that despite feeling terrible still gave the team the chance to compete and eventually win the bronze medal against Cambria. It wont be an easy task to manage the team and analyze all the potential rivals, but if they pulled through one time, they can sureley do it again. Giovanniland
Geography of Giovanniland Giovanniland has a total area of 395,107 km², comprised by one territory in northern Andolia and the other territory in Aura's Lavender Island. Auran Giovanniland shares a land border with Blue Bubble to the west and Min-Su to the east; while Andolian Giovanniland borders Varanius to the west, Tupmonia to the south and Fhaengshia to the east. The nation also borders the Darkesian Sea in three different sections of coast, including the notable Isole Annovi archipelago in Andolia, where Admiral Flavio's expedition first arrived in the new year of 724, as well as the Isola Abrenta off the southern coast of Lavender Island. The country uses the International Atomic Time (IAT+0) for the entire territory, lying between latitudes 12° and 26°S, and longitudes 9°W and 9°E. Giovanniland's border with Blue Bubble is defined by two rivers, the Ameno River in the south and the Purpuro or Muk-lung River in the north, two rivers having their springs near the Abrio Peak of the Great Lavender Range's western branch, a famous mountain also located on the two nations' border. On the other hand, the border with Min-Su has large straight sections, starting near the southern town of Aquaviola, cutting through the eastern branch of the Great Lavender Range, following the Ortano or Shar-lung River for a significant part of the Lavandulan lands in the north, and then ending with another vertical line. As for the Andolian border, the northwestern part bordering Varanius is defined by a few rivers, followed by a large straight section until the southwest. The Gigero River then defines part of the southern border before the Tupmonian border, after which two straight sections define the border with that country, while the eastern border with Fhaengshia roughly follows along the Nia River until its mouth. Topographic and river map of Giovanniland. Giovannilandian topography is diverse and includes several topographical regions. Auran Giovanniland has plains in the southwest, corresponding to the Primolido, Akallia and Abrenosto regions, as well as in the north within the Lavanda Prima region. The capital Giovannia and the surrounding region are located in the central highlands, and to its north is the topographically similar Lavanda Sekunda region. Last but not least, the regions Verdiante and Spandorto are known for having parts of the Great Lavender Range's western and eastern branches respectively. To the south of the mountains, major rivers include the Amore River with large cities such as Porto Violeto and Amorante near its mouth; the Keleste River in whose upper waters the capital Giovannia was notably built; and the southern Festino River that drains into the Darkesian Sea in the city of Abrentopole. In the north, the Dzé-lung or Gratioso River is a very important river for the Lavanda Prima and Lavanda Sekunda regions, featuring their respective capitals Uryde and Kastellavando throughout its course, as well as other relevant cities like Kyene and Lampo. Andolian Giovanniland is far more mountainous, although it also has lowlands and plains where a significant part of the population lives, mainly in the north (the Lido Flavio, Feragia and Altana regions) and the extreme south (the Vallemuni region). Meanwhile, the regions of Terra Violeta, Oltoveno and Doruna in the central part of the territory are known for their great altitude contrast, including valleys of the large Irto River and its tributaries surrounded by large mountain ranges. The region of Kordelleria is very sparsely populated and contains Giovanniland's section of the Great Andolian Range, divided into two parts by the central L'Apertura mountain pass, and it's where most earthquakes in the country happen. As for notable rivers, the aforementioned Irto River crosses the territory from southeast to northwest, and near its waters there are several major cities like Nenofre, Villaflori and Einotta; while the southern Emune River gives its name to the Vallemuni region and is home to cities like Gioseppole and Daurone. Biome map of Giovanniland. Giovanniland has a total of eight different biomes, three of which appear in Aura and seven in Andolia. Auran Giovanniland is covered by a large broadleaf forest, although the northern and western areas receive high rainfall throughout the year and are therefore rainforests, while the other areas have a distinct dry season, leading to the different biome classifications. Meanwhile, a large part of Andolian Giovanniland is covered by tropical grasslands, savannas and shrublands, whereas the rest of the biomes have a more limited distribution—for example the montane grasslands and coniferous forests in the mountainous south, and the semiarid or arid shrublands that cover a significant part of the coast, except in the west where broadleaf forests are the highlight. Giovanniland has a rich biodiversity, especially in the Auran forests and Andolian savannas. Some examples are jaguars, ocelots, capybaras, iguanas, tapirs, sloths, armadillos, piranhas, macaws, flamingoes, and anacondas, some of which are only found in the rainforest regions. All three coastlines that the nation has in the Darkesian Sea are also known to be home to various types of maritime life, including but not limited to dolphins, large whales, shrimps, octopuses, and coral reefs. The country also features a large amount of plant species, such as the many Auran forest trees, while Andolian Giovanniland offers a diverse lineup ranging from pines and araucarias in the mountainous regions to cacti and xeric trees in the arid lands, and of course the ubiquitous savanna trees and shrubs. In order to protect this biodiversity, Giovannilandian state policy has included an extensive environmental protection program for the last century. There are several designated national parks and natural reserves, in which sustainable tourism is allowed but no farming or mining can take place. Laws also regulate industries to prevent deforestation, species endangerment and water pollution among other issues. The hyacinth macaw native to Lavender Island is the national animal.
