    OOC Footnotes:
    - Skrubbe og Skure translates to "Scrub and Scour", and En Upartisk Utfrågning translates to "An Unbiased Interrogation"
    - Kalsborg is the fourth largest city in Fujai, and a rote is the first subdivision below a kommune. Most kommunes have 2 to 5, but larger cities may have dozens.

    A familiar foe

For the second time in a world cup, Ryxtylopia would face off against Larxia in the group stage, a pretty good country in the football world, as they had made the final on the first edition of the tournament, and in the second edition had made the quarter finals, in both instances loosing to the champion of both tournaments: Nieubasria.

Last time the Ryxtylopians played against the Larxians it didn't go well, with the Vultures conceding 4 goals, and nearly getting knocked out of the group being saved by a goal from, now former player Fylas Mataña, who was able to bring the goal difference to a point were Ryxtylopia narrowly edged over Saint Mark and secured a spot in the round of 16, where the Vultures would get knocked out of the tournament in H&J by the Cambrians.

However a lot of the old team was gone now, and despite drawing with Kalmach last match the Vultures had reason to be confident, they were playing at home after all and they would have the support of the crowd, Ryxtylopia's supporter base also known simply as: "The Band", which has been pretty loud in the Kalmach game.

The team talk started, with coach, Marco Garraves speaking:

[Marco]: Alright boys, we're going to go a bit more defensive now, i want you to give it your best, cause we're at home, the Vulture's in its nest, we'll be using the 4-1-4-1.
Marco does some drawing on the whiteboard.

[Marco]: Fydó i want you up front for a counter-attack, while everybody else will form up in lines, Dipartí, you go to the backline, and Larista i want you as a CDM, you'll be the one responsible for handling the ball in our counter attacks.
[Marco]: Everybody else in the midfield i want you to both attack and defend, but focus on keeping possesion, Larxia has really good players so we need time to plan out our attacks, Fydó can score goals but he needs support and the backline will count on you to aid with defending.
[Marco]: Messy worries me a lot, he's not too old yet, and not too young meaning he has experience and physical skill, i want you all to focus on keeping the ball away from him as much as you can... Aviero also worries me and they do have a strong defense, i think our greatest defensive and offensive tool will be the midfield...
    Marco exhales.
[Marco]: Alright, same lineup as yesterday tho i might bring some of you off and on...
[Marco]: Farris and Arvaléz, i want you to go forward with Fydó in case of an attack, Milatacha and Vilaní, you two stay behind Farris and Arvaléz, in case we loose posetion, i want you two to buy us time as well as Larista.
[Marco]: Also for the 4 of you in the back, dont overextend, Larista will take care of passing to our midfields and Fydó, are we all in agreement with this?
The players nod, and prepare themselves for the match.

Outside of the stadium, the ryxtylopian fans began singing a chant directed to the Larxians arriving at the stadium, presiceley called: "Larxia's Band".

Llaigo la bandá di Larxia, miré que poicos son!
Probable qui si vinieron e un microbus!
Ryxtylopia ni se rinde y vai aguaintar.
Ryxtylopia vai a absorbir sus atiques y contistxar.

    In Herfortdía perdíme duro.
Y los jugadories si hixieron burro.
    Así mi guste, quirida bandá.
Fimando Hyrba i Bisxfando Coca - Anda!

Larxia’s band arrived, look how few there are!
They probably arrived on a microbus!
Ryxtylopia doesn’t give up and they’re going to hold.
Ryxtylopia will absorb their attacks and they will respond.

    In Hertfordia we lost hard.
And the players turned to donkeys.
But i like it that way, beloved band.
Smoking weed and snorting coke - Lets go!

More than 100 people chanted the song as the Larxian fans and eventually their players arrived at the stadium, after the 4-1 loss to Hertfordia something was awfully clear, "The Band" was seeking the Vulture's revenge and the atmosphere would be rather heated for this match.

    Ardala Khanate
An article from the Lavender Encyclopedia | Choose a different language

The Ardala Khanate's extent during its peak in the 7th century.
    Status: Khanate
    Capital: Altan-qota (Golden City)
Common Languages: Ardalan, Ulergean, Emunean, Beremean and others
    Demonym: Ardalan
Area: circa 195,000 km² (7th century)
Population: est. 3 million (7th century)
The Ardala Khanate (Classical Ardalan: ᠠᠷᠠᠳ ᠳᠠᠯᠠᠢ ᠶᠢᠨ ᠬᠠᠨᠲᠠ ᠤᠯᠤᠰ, Modern Ardalan: ardalain khaant uls; Giovannese: Kanato de Ardala) was a medieval state in northern Andolia. Founded after a civil war that brought down its predecessor, the Ulerge Khanate, this polity achieved a never seen before size for a country in the region, bringing many different peoples under its control during its centuries-long history. Starting from the Ardalan homeland in modern-day northeastern Giovandolia, the khanate conquered its southern Ulerge neighbors during the civil war with the help of the ancient Bereme people to the west, after crafting an alliance with the latter.
The khanate achieved its peak in the 5th to 7th centuries AF, after expanding to the other side of the large Andolian mountain chain and establishing contact with the Emüne people who became a tributary, as well as performing a significant territorial expansion to the east of the Nia River, annexing lands in modern western Fhaengshia. In the 8th century AF, amid a succession war, the khanate was eventually annexed by the rising Giovannian Empire.
    Background & Rise
The Ardala and Ulerge people share an origin, both being descendants of the Northern Boreandolian people that were formerly united but eventually separated under foreign domination. After their independence, both peoples started building their own cities and polities, separated by the large Boriorto Mountains, and eventually reestablishing contact following some centuries.
The Ulerge people eventually united under a single Khanate in the 1st century BF and soon expanded northwards to annex the Ardalan Confederation, a league of city-states. This polity would also incorporate the Bereme people to the west soon after, but owing to its khans' authoritarianism and mismanagement of the military, turmoil soon started in the 3rd century AF. Both the Ardala and Bereme people rose up to start a civil war, and soon after forged an alliance to help each other, in which the Ardala would form a khanate of their own and the Bereme would enjoy more autonomy.
The alliance won the civil war in 283 AF, the date the Ardala Khanate was founded, and the alliance's leader Erdene (ruled 283-312 AF) became its first khan. By 301 AF, it also unified the Bereme remnants that were opposed to the alliance and wanted to stay independent, and for the remainder of his rule Erdeni Khan focused on stabilizing the newly-founded state. Subsequent rulers, such as Jargal Khan (ruled 312-330 AF) and Mandakh Khan (ruled 355-363 AF), also enacted important policies to improve the inhabitants' quality of life and strengthen the military.
    Expansion & Peak
Starting from the reign of Tsinua Khan (ruled 397-429 AF), the Ardala Khanate started to expand beyond its initial lands. To the west, expansion reached the border now known as the modern northwestern border of Giovandolia, and to the south, the vast mountains were crossed during the rule of Tsinua's son Ilalta Khan (ruled 429-444 AF). In 456 AF during the reign of Aldar Khan (ruled 449-470 AF), the Emüne people were made a tributary of the Ardala Khanate, and many of their upper classes were enlisted as advisors to the khans due to their reputation as skilled people.
During the 6th century the khanate reached its maximum territorial extent. The longest reigning ruler Ulaghan Khan (ruled 521-565 AF), followed by his younger brother Zorigt Khan (ruled 565-581 AF), conducted the great expansion to the east, beyond the Nia River that marks parts of the modern Giovanniland-Fhaengshia border. These lands were then added to the khanate, which by then had achieved regional fame among other peoples. Trade with neighboring peoples was extensive, and in the 7th century the newly-unified Giovannese also started conducting trade. Rulers of this century decided to maintain the current territory and focus on increasing the khanate's wealth and strength, most notably Elbeg Khan (ruled 623-655 AF).
    Fall
The last two ruler of the empire were Khürel Khan (ruled 698-714 AF) and Ochir Khan (ruled 714-722 AF), who returned to an expansionist policy after the previous few rulers focused on consolidating the territory. Although Khürel achieved initial success in his campaigns, these advances were reversed under Ochir, and the khan also suffered greatly when his son Namar was killed in battle. Ochir fell ill shortly after and died heirless, with various members of the royal family then attempting to take control of the khanate.
The Giovannian Empire took advantage from the situation, establishing some of its first settlements such as Forte Giovanni (modern Islamagna) and Andoliavilla in the islands and coastal lands taken from the khanate. The strongest pretender to the throne, Naran, was imprisoned and killed during the Siege of Altan-qota, after which the Giovannian Empire went on to conquer the rest of the khanate. Resistance would continue in the southern mountains for a few decades, before eventually ending after the death of the last local ruler Daichin Khan.

Giovanniland reacted to Clarkov in World Cup of Football III [rosters, roleplays, results]
The trio were meant to be flying across the Darkesian Sea in their military plane towards Saint Mark to circumvent it. Problem was, May was flying...
    R. Hammond: While we could be thundering past Giovanniland, James is making our lives a misery... again.
[Clarkson looks down to what's below them.]
    J. Clarkson: Er... we can't be at Ryxtylopia already, right?
    R. Hammond: James, why can I see a nation?
    J. May: Er, because I went in the wrong direction mate. I didn't tell you this, I made a route towards the Andolian Territories of Giovanniland and have had to go along through there a bit and we'll head up toward-
    R. Hammond: H- I'm sorry? We, on a route towards Saint Mark, have flown into Andoliavilla?
    J. May: Yeah mate. Sorry.
    R. Hammond: So you've made us get lost in this farm prop as well as slower.
    J. Clarkson: That is the face of a Hammond who knows that all the pre-flight checks in the world can't compensate for being stuck in an airborne tumble dryer with Esferos' slowest man at the controls. Also it's Andoliaville.
    R. Hammond: No, Andoliavilla.
    J. May: Officially it's called the Andolian Territories of Giovanniland, but they call it Giovandolia so that's what its name is.
    J. Clarkson: James, we're not from Giovanniland, we're from Hertfordshire-Jammbo. We call it Endeuliyevil or Entestiprazye and that translates to Andoliaville.
    R. Hammond: I maintain your wrongness on this.
    J. May: I was being correct.
    J. Clarkson: Pfft, whatever.
    R. Hammond: No you weren't.
    J. May: And anyway, it's a colony. They ought to leave this continent.
    R. Hammond: Has James been swapped for a Varanian?
    J. Clarkson: He's not a Varanian, but he is an old lady.
    J. May: I'm a what? No sorry, I missed that.
    R. Hammond: I mean... I knew he was from the 10th century, but really?
    J. Clarkson: He's always been an old lady, he was born an old lady. Congratulations Mrs. May, it's an old lady!
[Hammond laughs into the air, May is confused.]
    J. Clarkson: Anyway, back to the main topic, we're lost.
    J. May: No we're not. I think.
    R. Hammond: Whichever way you cut it, this is the wrong way.
    J. Clarkson: Hang on a second. We're flying in a plane from the Armed Forces.
    R. Hammond: Yeah.
    J. Clarkson: I hope the Giovannilandians don't send a welcome party.
    R. Hammond: How are you doing?
    J. Clarkson: Yeah, I'm fine. How about you?
    R. Hammond: We're going the wrong way, we've veered off west into Andoliavilla and are flying over it right now. So that's a no.
    J. Clarkson: A route imposed by James' inability to use a map.
    R. Hammond: We have to fly over every town. There's a place called Giovenoria that could be a bit tricky for us. Ugh...
[Hammond puts his head in his hands in despair. Clarkson adjusts the camera through which Hertfordians and Jammbonians (and Hertmerians) back home are watching them.]
    J. Clarkson: So if you've just started watching us, an update on our trip for you. We're behind schedule... by miles.
[The plane continues to fly through Giovanniland and out onto the Darkesian Sea where it has to divert heavily to avoid encroaching onto any more countries. It's passing along the coast of Dilber when Hammond pipes up again when he tries to eat his lunch.]
    R. Hammond: James. I've got no fork.
    J. May: Yeah, it's not allowed on the flight.
    R. Hammond: Well it's just as well 'cause if I had any cutlery right now it'd be sticking out your neck!
    J. Clarkson: Richard.
    R. Hammond: Yeah?
    J. Clarkson: I found these sheets. Do you think I should show this to the audience?
    R. Hammond: I don't see why not.

Style: +1.7 RP permissions If my opponent RPs first, they may... Injure my players: yes Assign my players yellow cards: no Assign my players red cards: no Godmod injuries: no Godmod scoring: no Godmod other events: no A sheet with what was seemingly useful drivel on there. But the trio had figured out that this must have been important otherwise it wouldn't be in the plane with them. It looked like some kind of permission slip.
    J. Clarkson: Certainly, the roster of The Genesis is more of an engineering triumph than James' plane...
    R. Hammond: We've got no bloody forks.
    J. May: Stop whinging about the ruddy in-flight food, man.
    R. Hammond: Fuck's sake...
    J. May: And don't jig about, 'cause we're climbing. We're struggling a bit here.
    R. Hammond: I am not jiggling!
    J. May: Yeah, but Jeremy is.
    R. Hammond:  How rubbish is this thing if I can't even lift a chocolate bar to my face without us crashing into a mountain of drugs or Quiyakaso?!
    J. Clarkson: I know what will cheer you up, Richard. Let's talk about a car made back home, the Buralati Chirkov. More specifically, the special "Legends of the Snow" version that was made in honour of the Hertfordshire & Jammbo cricket team that won the T20 World Cup. You know, even though there are these huge cooling guts and the engine has no cover at all, that thing has 11 radiators. 4 to cool the engine itself, 3 for the intercoolers, 1 to do the axle oil, 1 to do the engine oil and 2 to cool the hydraulic fluid used to raise it's rear spoiler. ...It's got more radiators than my house!
    R. Hammond: ...That was made in Hertfordshire & Jammbo?
    J. Clarkson: I know it seems absurd but I promise you, it's not as far fetched as it seems. Most of our land is untouched countryside with mountain ranges, lakes, a lot of snow and miles of quiet straight roads. It's the sort of country a hypercar could unleash everything it has in, providing the roads aren't too covered in ice or frost.

The Buralati Chirkov that Clarkson was talking about. It has a quad-turbo W16 engine that produces 1,578bhp and goes to a top speed of 305m/h. It's the fastest car that Hertfordshire & Jammbo has managed thus far. It's named after legendary Hertmerian racing driver Lui Chirkov. He is believed to be living at Hestmere in Overthinkers, but this has yet to be proven.
    R. Hammond: That is just... wow. Incredible.
    J. Clarkson: You know what else is incredible?
    R. Hammond: What?
    J. Clarkson: James looks like he's preparing another lump of disappointment.
    J. May: Hammond? Clarkson? We have to stop for fuel.
    R. Hammond: Well, why didn't you put more in?
    J. May: Well I filled it up. That's as much as it takes.
    R. Hammond: So we've got to pull over for petrol?
    J. May: Are you, er, are you familiar with the basic principles of flight?
    R. Hammond: No.
    J. May: One of the problems we have is because the plane is heavily loaded is that we need, essentially, more lift so we have to fly with the wings at a slightly higher angle...
    R. Hammond: Oh god...
    J. Clarkson: I'm nodding off.
[May continues his lecture, which takes so long that by the time he had finished, they were flying over their destination. Not that May was aware of this.]
    J. Clarkson: Guys?
    J. May: Yeah?
    J. Clarkson: We're here. Look.
[Hammond and May look out of the windscreen and window respectively to see Ryxenia coming into view.]
    J. May: Guess we don't need to stop for fuel after all. Just need to re-fill when we land.
    J. Clarkson: Or whatever it is that flying fridge-freezers run on.
    R. Hammond: I'm starting to think James' plane plan wasn't as lightning fast as I'd first imagined.
    J. May: Remind me to tell the person who refuels our planes to stop being such a Fujansk trade unionist and get on with it.
    J. Clarkson: Oh! Before we go, viewers, I want to show you this. It's the roster of The Mafia, otherwise known as The Genesis. I'd have shown this to you earlier but, well, you know...
[Clarkson uses his head to gesture to May.]

    J. May: "Wait a minute. Why did Petersburg edit her profile to have horns?" | Esmeralda P.: "I don't have to disclose that." | R. Hammond: "The thing about having a deaf-mute captain is that no one besides us lot know what we're planning. Unless you happen to have complete knowledge of sign language."
    J. Clarkson: Can I just point out that the first match of Hertfordshire & Jammbo has finished already? We drew 0-0 with Saint Mark.
    J. May: Has it? How's that happened?
    J. Clarkson: Maybe it has to do with the fact that your pre-flight checks and sense of direction have caused us to be catastrophically late?
    J. May: Oh cock...
The trio and their plane finally landed in a field nearby Ryxenia, from which Clarkson and Hammond got into a Buralati Chirkov that the HAJFF had shipped to Ryxtylopia for them. May meanwhile chose to get on the team coach - named "The Ragnarök" - where he received a verbal hammering from assistant manager Tess on the way to Saltavacha.

Giovanniland got a reaction from Fujai in World Cup of Football III [rosters, roleplays, results]
Giovanniland's Football Team Arrives in Ryxtylopia
Ryxenia, Ryxtylopia - The Giovannilandian National Football Team (Esquadra Nationale Giovanniterrana Pedesfere, in Giovannese) has arrived at the Ryxtylopian capital city for the start of the 3rd World Cup of Football. The 33-player strong team will be playing in Group B for the group stage, together with Cambria, United Adaikes, and Teralyon from Polaris, the latter of which the Giovannilandians will meet on the first matchday, as well as the Nuran nations of Sekiya and Peourouin.
The national team has seen many changes since the last edition of the World Cup, most notably Gustavo Zapata replacing Lorentio Santo-Ferrari as team captain. Gustavo scored goals for Giovanniland in the two previous World Cup, and also led the nation's football in the past Summer Esferiads, being the leader in goals and assistances while being a key contributor to Giovanniland's two silver medals in Saint-Josalyn and then Quorivo-Kharventhin. Interviewed about his expectations for the upcoming World Cup by the Nuntikarta, Gustavo replied he hopes that Giovanniland can surpass its previous record of the Round of 16.
    1423 Chess Championship Near
Sonserina, Akallia, Giovanniland - While most of the world is currently focused on the 3rd World Cup of Football happening in Ryxtylopia, many in Giovanniland are also looking forward to one of the nation's most famous competitions. The 1423 Giovanniland Chess Championship is slated to happen in December of this year, and preparations are finishing while the regional competitions host their last matches to decide which chess players will participate in this grand national event.
Chess is one of the leading sports of Giovanniland, available since childhood in most schools as an option for those who are not very skilled in physical sports, and this event that has happened yearly since 1354 usually earns recognition from the nation's prime minister. The current holder of the position, Elisa Anario-Silva, has already confirmed her visit to the event, and this year the Chess Championship promises to be even more special since it will end as the Lavender Festival starts, which is a national celebration of the new year.
Fourty participants will be participating in the event, these places having been divided into places for each region allocated in proportion to regional population, aside from one spot automatically reserved for the defending champion, Guillermo Uryde-Amorino from Primolido, which has won the last two editions. Several notable players from the past editions have already qualified, including but not limited to Giovanni Amdo-Gyasso and Raffella Quadrigaro from Giovannia Magna, Vittor Nyima-Lyamo from Altana, as well as Lavanda Rosetta-Lyra and Karlo Neurino-Sousa from Lavanda Prima.
    Economy of Giovanniland Continues Strong
Giovannia Capital City, Giovanniland - The Giovannilandian economy finishes another month in a strong position, maintaining its place as the fourth largest economy of Esferos and also keeping the nation's place among the world's highest Gross Domestic Product (GDP) per capita values. Giovanniland's GDP PPP is valued at $1,406,647,221,920 while the per capita index is at $48,000, with the highest contribution coming from the tertiary or services sector, followed by the secondary or industrial sector and at last the primary sector.
The tertiary sectors accounts for 72% of the national economy, with significant participation from the trading, finances, and tourism areas. An example is banking, with the nation's leading banks known internationally for their secure systems and lower taxes, although the government receives a fee to ensure the sector's strength and there are also mechanisms to avoid illegal money deposits. Eco-tourism has also seen continued growth, as the nation's environmental policies ensure that visitors can experience lands as diverse as the rainforests of northern Lavender Island to the southern Giovandolian Mountains.
Meanwhile, the secondary sector contributes to 26.5% of the national GDP and is very diverse. The technological industry is headed in the Primolido and Altana regions, in Aura and Andolia respectively, and retains its place among the nation's spotlights due to its high advancement. The food industry, strongest in the Abrenosto region, has also seen a notable increase ahead of the end of year celebrations, when many in the nation hold special events and several cities also brace for significant tourism. On the other hand, the retail and automobile industries were among those marking a slight decrease, although it is hoped this will be overcome soon.
Finally, despite its far smaller contribution of 1.5% to the economy and a retraction this month, the primary sector maintains its importance as the basis for many of the nation's more advanced exports. Due to its tropical location, Giovanniland is a significant producer of a variety of crops, including but not limted to bananas, coconuts, papayas, cassava, cocoa, coffee, rice, sweet potato, and tea. Mining operations also continue, especially in the Spandorto and Kordelleria regions, although mindful of the nation's environmental regulations.

Below is the kit the team sported earlier.
Starting the match, the Cambrian team scored 2 points five minutes apart at 10' and 15', laying out the opponent's grip on the Peouroun team. Both teams kept tossing the ball between themselves and the goalkeepers, Cambria evidently going on attack more often causing Peourouin to rely on its considerably stacked defense. Peourouin then at 30' threaded the needle with Nortssk's quick and precise kick to Hass through the tight Cambrian defense. The ball went too far for the goalkeeper to deflect it, making the score KCM 2-1 APR by half-time.
Resuming for the second half, the break did wonders for the Peourouns. They were light on their feet and worked the Cambrians down for everything they had. Hopping away at 52' with a wide-open pass from Zelehvy to Ussrsaii. Cambria gained back its lead at 74' with a clean shot. Peourouin fought hard minute by minute, and their efforts yielded another goal at 89', closing the gap between them. The match ended KCM 4-3 APR, the most goals in a match.
Peourouin ends with -1 in Group B after MD1, but a fighting -1. For MD2, Peourouin will be up against Teralyon. Teralyon, who was absent for the previous World Cup, has returned this year. The team is taking an ice bath, preparing for the match tomorrow, November 19. 1423 has been a year of interest, tomorrow is something you should not miss.

Prime Minister Olaysiy Udemmiena travels to Ryxtylopia along with the United Peourouin Sports Authority for the inaugural presense of Peourouin at the World Cup of Football III
    Joukin Aksprata, Auran Correspondent
Despite the protests in Ryxtylopia, PM Olaysiy Udemmiena has proceeded to travel to Vynitiná to observe Peourouin's first appearance at a World Cup of Football (WCF).
PM Udemmiena trip has apparently been approved for international travel by President Humatiy, however, many have heeded the lady PM to be vigilant in areas of conflict.
One subscriber to PT stated, "The PM should be protected, and she should be wary about her whereabouts. I know that our security detail will inform her of any suspected target on her, but it shakes me to my core to have such an important figure in Peouroun politics fall victim in foreign hands."
The consensus of the nation is troubling, but the PM stands firm in the undermining eyes of many. President Humatiy has sent regards to her and the Peouroun team. He stated in a quick soundbite, he would be watching the performance. "We must show the world that we are not an easy opponent, but we will work towards the top on the field or through pen on paper.

In the dim glow of his private office, Jacen Goode, a young and astute lawyer at the high-powered firm Goode-Ehfrau-Anwalt (GEA), leaned back in his leather chair, contemplating the potential outcomes of his client's pending divorce.
A ping from his laptop brought his eyes from the ceiling to the pop-up window. The subject line, stark and intrusive, cut through the usual casual treatment of emails:  "A Proposition You Can't Ignore."
Opening the email, the message was succinct yet laced with a threat that struck at the core of Jacen's meticulously constructed web of relationships - professional and private. In his time at GEA he was courting some of the wealthiest businesspeople and highest class of nobility in Basria and the Astorian Realms. He is now renown for his discretion and penchant for keeping his client's name out of the papers. The email begins,
    Mr. Goode,
In the realm of privilege you navigate, there exist shadows. Secrets, Mr. Goode, that could tarnish the pristine reputation you've so carefully built for your Lords and Ladies.
Consider this a proposition—one you can't afford to ignore.
The email continued with a narrative that raised Jacen's hackles - a hint at evidence, subtle yet foreboding, regarding some of his clients. The veiled threat left Jacen uneasy, a sensation he rarely entertained in his world.
As he absorbed the implications, the message transitioned from the hints to a more tangible demand. The proposition pivoted around a legal challenge, a battle that would thrust Jacen into the heart of a conflict between the state and the very importance of privacy - an assertion of freedom against the prying eyes of the government.
The writer claimed Jacen's assistance in a case involving a prominent biotech company. The allegation was startling - government interference in encrypted communications, industrial espionage, and the alleged theft of trade secrets pertaining to a revolutionary diabetes medication. The twist lay in the revelation that the government entity responsible for acquiring the decrypted information was none other than CTGM. A government corporation that Jacen knew was well connected to Basric business and politics, but was part of a subtly separate private alignment of nobles and their own lawyers like himself. Not an easy target.
The room now echoed with the weight of a choice that transcended the boundaries of legality. Jacen found himself standing at a crossroads—a choice between loyalty to his clientele, whose deeds would cause greater scandal and damage than this case, and the inevitable damage caused by pitting the elite echelons against each other.
The email, now a specter haunting his conscience, left him wrestling. It was signed: "I'll make sure the firm reaches out to you soon. Be ready with your answer, SilverShadow"

Giovanniland reacted to United Adaikes in World Cup of Football III [rosters, roleplays, results]
"The more time this young one is sitting at the President's Office, the more this country's going down the drain."
That's the first line Fawn Dickson started in another episode of her podcast, "Perspectives Unleashed."
"Luke might be popular with his friends outside the United Adaikes, but he only talks about proposed policies. Nothing comes to light, even in the House of Representatives. It all ends up in Committee Hearings, but nothing more productive!
"Now, check this: Foreign Affairs Secretary Anne Duncan called a quick press conference. Assistant Secretary for Polaris Affairs Garnet Sinclair and Assistant Secretary for Auran Affairs Nidia Bourke were also at the table with Secretary Duncan at that press conference. The topic? Calling out the Ryxtylopian government on the missing journalists since World Football announced that Ryxtylopa will host the 3rd World Cup of Football.
"Well, two things: number 1, aren't they friends? They have a joint base there in Matixarrati with Cambria and Teralyon. What do you think would happen to their friendship now and whatnot? And number two, quite the irony when they locked up the anti-female football players protesters. The Fujansk government may have to call us out again after we locked up the vlogger that spread shit about Former Secretary of Trade Colbert. Then, we found out months later that Felice was in connivance with the Dalimbari government.
"The People's Democratic Party, the leading party in the House right now, as well as the President's party, are all of the same crazy kind. In the last session of the House, senior member Higinio Parsons, the representative of North Shil City, called the country's representatives to vote for a bill providing international aid to Ryxtylopia, with the Auran country's "slums" being highlighted by one international news channel. Mr. Parsons, with all due respect, can't we find a way for our people first to get out of our very comprehensive social programs, where I think they're the only reasons our finances are bleeding? Focus first on the "poor" ones in this country and help them look for jobs so that they won't be very dependent on our country's social programs. Almost everything is free in our country, yet we pay them because they are poor?
"And take the extravagance from our international players! They're still the same Adaikesians in our country! They're already earning big in this country, yet we still provide them the bigger bucks just to feel important in other countries. We got some footage that our international football players are heavily guarded with guards in Ryxtylopia, from disembarking from their plane to their hotel and practices. Now, if the country's paying for those security personnel, I'll be sad for this country. Not counting the fact that they're staying in Hoteil Ila de Oro, one of the most luxurious hotels in the country, despite being "poor."
And don't get me started with whatever we're doing over at Bilyad!"

FSTV 3 - The Way to Health
[Opening scene: A well-lit studio with the host sitting at a desk adorned with various health-related props. The camera zooms in as the host begins speaking.]
Dr. Gerasim Orlov, Host: Welcome, dear viewers, to another episode of "The Way of Health". I'm Dr. Orlov. Later on in the show we'll be discussing the negative mental and physical effects of consuming foreign media, especially "anime" from places like Zoran, but first...
[An ominous looking fungus appears in the corner of the screen.]
Dr. Orlov: ...we're going to address a growing concern in our community - a dangerous street drug known as "fun-gi", "devil spore", or "brain rock". This substance has been making its way through our streets, and it is crucial that we shed light on its potential risks. What makes this substance particularly alarming is its origin, as it is believed to have originated in the backwards society of Varanius, and both its original form and a synthetic form has been used by young people going to parties and clubs, particularly in Saint Andreisburg.
[Cut to video of a party club scene while Dr. Orlov continues to speak.]
Dr. Orlov: The Office of the Surgeon General notes that after its introduction via smuggling into the Free State during the Rugby World Cup, a synthetic form has been developed in clandestine laboratories in hostile-class regions of Yugodalia and then bought by innocent Dalimbari youth, thinking it is just a harmless party substance. They take it before and while in a club, but its effects can be both unpredictable and perilous. Users seem to experience hallucinations, altered perceptions of reality, and intense mood swings.
    [Cut back to the studio.]
Dr. Orlov: The concerning part about "fun-gi" or "devil spore" is that its production methods are entirely unregulated, leading to variations in its chemical composition. This makes it extremely difficult to predict how an individual may react to the drug. Reports of adverse reactions, including seizures, anxiety attacks, "skin crawl", and even cases of overdose, have been on the rise.
[Transition to a pre-recorded interview with a recovering addict.]
Former User: I started using "fun-gi" at parties, thinking it was just a bit of fun. It made me feel really good for a while, like I was on my own Path! But soon, I found myself unable to control the impact it had on my life. I was spending more and more on this junk, just to try to feel the same way I did the first time I tried it. It took a toll on my physical and mental health, and I knew I needed to seek help. I really had strayed from the Path.
    [Cut back to the host.]
Dr. Orlov: It's stories like these that emphasize the importance of being informed and vigilant. If you suspect someone you know might be using "fun-gi" or any other unknown substances, encourage them to seek help. We can not lose any Dalimbari from the Path. Addiction is a serious issue, and professional support can make all the difference.
[Contact information for local treatment centres appears on the screen.]
Dr. Orlov: Remember, your health is your most valuable asset. Don't waste the life your ancestors gave you. Stay vigilant and stay on the Path. Up next, our panel will be discussing the dangers of foreign media. You won't want to miss it.
[The screen changes to a commercial on the latest tractor.]

Giovanniland reacted to Federation of Inner Ryxtylopia in World Cup of Football III [rosters, roleplays, results]
    The Dark

After the first few days since the tournament started, the protests that had marked the day before the start and the ones that happened on the first day had calmed down, as since the tournament had already started there wasn’t much point in protesting especially considering the police response was a bit harsh (by ryxtylopian standards).
No domestic media outlet had reported on the protests yet, only passing it off as “minor unrest in Ryxenia” and this unrest had only spread to a few other cities, were riots hadn’t happened.

However it wasn’t all sunshine and roses, many media outlets had been speculated of taking bribes not to report on the situation, or in some cases, been intimidated to not report on the situation by the police and internal security apparatus, the police in Ryxtylopia is widley hated, and so any story about it usually reaches front pages in local news, due to this the government had acted preemptively to stop any stories from going through, at least domestically.
On the international stage it was a different story however, many foreigners had taken notice of the unrest with some even wandering off into it, which was not good in terms of the image of the nation, due to this the police often did their best, or rather worst when it came to intimidating foreign press to not go into the slums and report about the unrest, at least while containment efforts were still ongoing.
4 Well-known reporters in Ryxtylopia had gone missing in the week during and leading up to the tournament:
    Taxia Divas
    Isadro Guivarra
    Arturo Dipartí
    Rascanda Ivarradí
As well as this around another 50 to a possible 89 lower profile reporters had gone missing, as well as protest leaders, known agitators, union leaders and even low-profile political figures, and innocent people, it wasn't the people going missing that was the problem, it was their profiles, activities they had been involved in, political or social influence and something most of them shared in common was dissaproval of the tournament.

Reporters going missing in Ryxtylopia was nothing new, however 4 of the most well known critics of the government going missing in a short period, people with pretty big influence in the opposition media, that wasn’t a very good sign, and it was just a matter of time before more people took notice of the matter, but with still so many days to go before the tournament ended, the police presence remained the same, and detentions went up by approximatley 50-75% in some areas.
However the tournament had to go on, and efforts to prevent foreign media reporting on the unrest had been sorta successful, as no *MAJOR* stories about the civil rights abuses had made it into the global headlines yet, which was a good thing for an authoritarian, oligarchic country trying to portray itself as a functional democracy on the global stage.

    Transcript:
Video shows Noya Priscan and a Quiyakaso Gohalitsve with a black eye in front of the stadium
    Quiyakaso: "Helloooooooo Zoran! I-"
Noya: “Quiyakaso, why do you have a black eye?”
Quiyakaso: “Oh this? Yeah I got it after a Ryxtylopian punched me in the face during a flash mob.”
Noya: “...A flash mob? Really? What is this, 1403?!”
Quiyakaso: “Well, it was a weird flash mob. They were all holding signs and chanting something. So I made myself a sign that said 'I Like Pie' and started chanting that while walking with them.”
Noya: "...Quiyakaso, that was a protest...not a flash mob."
Quiyakaso: “Ooooooooooh, that makes a lot of sense!”
    Noya: [groans] “You think!”
Quiyakaso: "Yeah...and then I walked into the slums. Nice people, some of them. One tried to mug me and I gave her my fake wallet! That's right! I carry a fake wallet on me now for occasions like this!
Noya: ...You did the two things we were told not to do! Get involved with the protests and enter the slums!
Quiyakaso: "Oh come on, Noya! Where's your sense of adventure?"
Noya: "I left it at the hotel room, now let's get back to the actual news report we are supposed to have."
Quiyakaso: "Ok, fiiiiiiiiiine. The Zoranian Thunderbirds won their match 2-1 after clutching victory from the jaws of a tie!"
Noya: ...That's not the expression, Quiyakaso. It wouldn't even work in this situation!
Quiyakaso: Eh, but they get the point. The Zoranian team is going up against Pedandria next at the Par-...Parkui? Parkui Victoria?
Noya: Parque Vittoria. Let's hope our team does well in their next match. I'm Noya Prisc-
Quiyakaso:  Hold on! We're not done yet! We have to go to the slums! Show the country what the true life of a Ryxtylopian is!
Noya: That is not our job! We are here to report on the sporting event! We are not travel journalists!
    Quiyakaso: But adventure!
Noya: NO! I'm not going to let you go off an potentially get killed in the slums!
Quiyakaso: But how about we go get some real tacos instead of tacos that are sold here at more touristy restaurants?
    Noya: ...
Quiyakaso: Eh? Eeeeeeeh? Not a bad idea, huh?
Noya: Ok, one time. We go the slums just. this. once.
Quiyakaso: Yes! I knew I would win you over one day!
That is when a pack of seagulls descend upon Quiyakaso and start attacking him
    Quiyakaso: NOT AGAIN!!!
Noya: sighs Can someone get the bandages?

Candelù's First match and first loss.
Fans hope in success for the next match.

As we know, yesterday was the first day of the Esferos world cup, and us of Tiveronia 'i Zuja have all the news about our national team's performance!

Sadly, the first match was a loss, being a  1-0 for Fujai's team. Our players aren't demoralized from the results, as it was their first ever match against another national team, and one that reached the top 5 last year!

Directly from Ryxtylopia, our correspondent has much more info, we give the mike to you, Gabri!

"Hello? Can you hear me? uh, this is chaos here. Well! ignoring the revolts happening in the background, it's actually pretty calm down here!"

Well, i guess that kinda makes sense Gabri... What's the fans' feling about the loss?

"The Candeluians fans here have soooooooooooo much hope for success in the next days, and me too! i mean, a loss of 1-0 for the 5th ranked nation team isn't too bad right?"

Yeah, and what about tomorrow's match?

"Well again! Everyone here is THRRRRRILLED for tomorrow's match, and again based on yesterday's result, we all hope for success!
For more info, the next match will be played again H&J- wait, it's not it's actual name?"

    No Gabri, no it isn't.

    "That's interesting and weird, Weirderesting!"

Gabri, keep going with the report.

"Right! Well, H&J will by no means be a easy fella to face, but with the power of your fans everything is possible!"

Good enough Gabri, remind me to change reporter later...

    "Okay!"

Well, that was all from the sports section, we from Tiveronia 'i Zuja wish you a good night and we'll see you in the next days! Keep Fanning, Football Fans!

Giovanniland reacted to Overthinkers in World Cup of Football III [rosters, roleplays, results]
[OOC Context Note: Broadcast the day before Match Day 1.]

Melanie: From SPOT Studios in the heart of Cangham, we bring you the inaugural Football World Cup Preview, presented by Ping AI. I’m Melanie Soft, and I’m joined today by my colleague Weston Hall.
    Weston: Greetings!
Melanie: Over the next two hours, we’re going to be breaking down the minutiae of the third Football World Cup in Ryxtylopia, and how your very own Overthinkers National Team is preparing. But first, let’s start with the basics. Weston, many of our viewers may be new to the World Cup, how would you explain the tournament in simple terms?
Weston: It really is quite simple, Melanie. Twenty-four teams of gladiators have entered the arena seeking the title and international glory. These teams are comprised of the mightiest champions of the countries they respectively represent. In the interest of narrative, these teams must prove themselves against each other in a series of matches before entering the yet-more-competitive knockout stage.
Weston: To prove themselves thus, teams have been assigned to four groups, each more or less evenly matched in skill to one another, but representing a wide range of skill within each group. Teams shall earn favor with the lords of the tourney by winning matches against their group, or a lesser amount of favor by tying. After each team has tested themselves against every other team in the group, the four teams most favored shall enter into the knockout stage.
[Melanie is smiling at the camera, but the pain behind her eyes is obvious.]
Weston: In the knockout stage, the stakes become higher. Each of these battles becomes a do-or-die situation for our gladiators. The victors live to fight another day, the losers will board a plane back home. We proceed from sixteen to eight, then to four, then finally to the last two teams remaining, who shall fight to claim the World Cup trophy.
Melanie: Great! Now, let’s introduce you to what teams are playing. We start with Group A, which includes Overthinkers.
[Graphic of Group A teams appears onscreen.]
Melanie: Notably, this group includes the hosts, Ryxtylopia, but also includes Larxia, one of the top 5 ranked teams in international play. Besides Larxia, the teams in this group are all either unranked or within 5 ranks of one another, meaning that at least on paper, anything can happen in this group.
Weston: Truly, this field was designed to give all a sporting chance, all the better for Overthinkers to improve upon their showing in the last World Cup.
Melanie: For the sake of brevity, I agree.
[Melanie runs through the remaining groups, with occasional interjections by Weston. Notably, Weston is thrilled by the uncertainty over whether Sasha of the Dalimbari team is a bear.]
Melanie: Now, before we go to break, we’ve asked our “special analyst” some questions in advance and gotten some prognostications. Let’s hear from our sponsor, Ping AI. Hey Ping, given the teams listed, who will win the World Cup?
    Ping: Saint Mark.
    Melanie: Interesting! Can you elaborate?
    Ping: Because I said so.
Melanie: Great! We’ll be right back after the break to introduce you fully to your Overthinkers National Team.
    [ad break]
[Coming out of the ad break, a hype video plays. Generic rock song plays as highlights and photos of OT players flash on screen, introducing each member of the starting lineup. It then ends with the Football World Cup graphic.]
Melanie: And we’re back with the Football World Cup Preview, presented by Ping AI. We’re taking a look now at our starting lineup.
[A graphic of the full team roster appears on screen.]
Melanie: Eight of last year’s starting eleven return this year, and two of last year’s reserves are starters this year. Altogether, there’s seven players making their World Cup debut, including Jeri M. Anders, who landed a starting role at forward.
Melanie: To truly get to know these players, let’s talk to someone who has been on the world stage with many of them before. We’re joined in the studio by Ian Reid, who is missing this World Cup due to injury. Ian, I know you’d rather be in Ryx with the team, but welcome to the studio.
    Ian: Pleasure’s all mine, Melanie.
Melanie: So you’ve seen our roster for this year. Anything that immediately catches your eye here?
Ian: I said after our elimination last year that we had all the ingredients for success, but we weren’t prepared to execute. Seeing so many of the same people here, now with World Cup experience, I can only imagine we’re ready to grind.
Ian: I’ll call out Max Hamilton, here, my replacement. He was a reserve last year, got some play time in, but since then he’s really stepped up his game. He would have given me a run for the starting job even if I were healthy. I think he’s every bit as good as Elle and Ryan in the backfield.
Ian: Jeri, too. Even younger than Lukas and fully earned that starting job next to him. I spend some time at Highland this year and really liked what I saw from her and from that whole program. We’ve got some great younger players coming out of these smaller clubs that can only go up from here.
Weston: The youths also stir the hearts of the nation, displaying some spectacular showmanship on the field that deviates from the team’s normal, reserved strategy.
Ian: Yeah, and I’m torn on that, frankly. These younger players try to be flashy, they try to be heroes, and seeing Lukas go off last year only inflated their egos. This is Coach Luigi’s team, he wants you to defend the ball and score safely. Hopefully he can temper some of that recklessness.
Melanie: While the starters have a lot of experience, the reserves are majority newcomers to international play. What do you make of that?
Ian: They’re new to international play, but they’re not new to football. Petra and Stephen have three rings between them. Joy played for a long time at West and is accustomed to the rise and grind that this team plays. If they can shake off the nerves early, they’ll be just fine.
Melanie: Love it. Thanks for joining us today, Ian, and hope you can get back to the pitch soon.
Ian: Myself and my doctors have differing opinions on that. Cheers.
Melanie: Before we go to break, we have another question for our sponsor, Ping AI. Hey Ping, who will be the Overthinkers team MVP this World Cup?
    Ping: Chris Peterson.
Melanie: Chris isn’t playing this year.
    Ping: Chris Peterson.
Melanie: O-kay, stay tuned. After the break, we got a moment with the Overthinking team after they touched down in Ryxenia.
    [ad break]
Weston: Welcome back, dear viewers, to the Football World Cup Preview, presented by the incomparable Ping AI. We’d lose our jobs if we actually used this product at SPOT, but that’s our problem, not yours.
Melanie: Ahem. Yes. Earlier this week, the Overthinkers National Team departed from Cangham International Airport and arrived in Ryxenia, the capital of Ryxtylopia. Once the team got through customs, we caught up with them in transit to their lodgings. Let’s hear now from field correspondent Emily Corral.
Emily [voiceover as B-roll plays]: The Overthinkers National Team has arrived in Ryxenia for the third Football World Cup. The city is warm and vibrant, and the streets are lined with football fans, thrilled to have an event of this significance on their home turf.
[Half of a protest sign comes into frame before the scene abruptly changes.]
Emily [now on-camera]: We’ve gotten exclusive access to the team bus as the team travels to one of Ryxenia’s finest hotels. I’m here standing next to Ray Chang, one of the veterans of this team. Ray, how was your trip?
Ray: It was just fine. We all thought the plane ride was shorter than expected, and when we got off, we were surrounded by some of the finest architecture we had ever seen. Like, completely blown away by how beautiful and grandiose everything was. But it turned out we had actually landed in Saint Mark. Our plane had an instrument issue that needed fixing. So by the time we got here to Ryxenia it was…
[Ambassador von Edelgard peeks out from the seat back behind Ray.]
Ray: ...also pretty great. You can tell there’s a lot of money in this place.
    [von Edelgard recedes.]
Emily: I see. We now have Coach Wendell Luigi right here. Coach, how is the team feeling after the trip?
Coach: They’re ready to roll. It was a pretty smooth trip, despite the interruption. We’re all super locked in and ready to get practicing.
Emily: Now Coach, we haven’t had a chance to talk to you since Lucille Lyons resigned from the team at the last minute and then dropped off the map. Has there been any impact from that on the team?
Coach: I can’t speak from the players, they’re each dealing in their own way. All I have to say on the matter that’s fit for TV is, you picked a fine time to leave us, Lucille. But we were able to get George called up to fill her slot. The kid’s ecstatic—you can tell it’s a dream come true for him. I want to focus on the positivity of that.
Emily: Understood. You guys are playing Alchera in the first match. Are there any particular strategies you have for them?
Coach: Not particularly. They’re a solid team, we’re about evenly matched from what I saw last year. We will go out there and play our game, and make them play our game too. And we’ll adjust from there.
Emily: Larxia is far and away the strongest team in Group A. Do they give you any concern?
Coach: We only have to worry about them once before the knockouts. We’ll try our hardest, but we’re giving our all in every game.
Emily: Thanks for your time, Coach.
    [Cut back to studio.]
Melanie: Thanks, Emily. Now, one more question for our sponsor, Ping AI. Ping, what World Cup team has the potential to be a dark horse this year?
    Ping: Kalmach.
Melanie: Good call! Why is that?
    Ping: Because I said so.

    The end of day 1

People packed into the Rivalda, practically filling up to capacity for the game between Ryxtylopia and Kalmach, “the colossus” preparing to see Ryxtylopia’s first match at home.
As per usual with matches involving Ryxtylopia, fans of both teams weren’t allowed to sit in the same areas, the stadium was subdivided, and most of these subdivisions went to Ryxtylopia considering they would have most of the guests, with removable metal fences separating both sides and each subdivision to prevent fights from breaking out.
After both national anthems played, the locals kicked off, starting off slightly cautiously, but after a gap opened up in the opponent's defense the ryxtylopian players took to attacking, with a pass from M. Larista reaching A. Fydó who was able to send the ball cleanly into the right side of Kalmach’s goal in the 2nd minute, as the Rivalda exploded with the word “GOOOOOOOOOL!”
That meant Ryxtylopia was 1 up in the 2nd minute, expectations were high however from here as the kalmachians kicked off the game lost momentum, and it became both sides constantly fighting for the ball, with the ryxtylopians attempting to get the kalmachians to make a mistake to be able to attack, while their opponents put pressure on the midfield without being able to get into the backline.
In the 37th minute, Fydó got a pass from R. Dipartí taking the ball all the way into the box, where he attempted to shoot but the ball went over the post.
Just before break in the 44th minute, Fydó took the ball and tried finding someone to head it in, he passed it to Larista in the box, but Larista missed the header, the ball heading for M. Vilaní who was unprepared for the ball, expecting a bounce; Vilaní shot with his weak foot, sending the ball on a low angle to be easily catched by Kalmach’s GK, Meikal Schkridt.
After 2 minutes of added time, the whistle blew signaling half time as both sides headed to rest, and fans headed for more snacks and replenishments.
For the second time it mostly remained the same, however after some changes Kalmach was able to get back on the game, as ryxtylopia made fewer attempts on goal, the last one being a long shot N. Farris on the 54th minute that got easily intercepted by Schkridt.
On the 67th minute however after several attempts to get through the midfield Kalmach was able to exploit a missed pass by P. Arvaléz and get through into the backline, where E. Rivas failed a slide tackle and E. Vilaña was too slow to respond, as the ball went and bounced off the post into the net on top of Franco Arvaldí’s Head, at the 67th minute.
After that the stadium felt silent as the ball once again kicked off, Kalmach immediately going on the attack and getting past the strong Ryxtylopian midfield, however this time around the 70th minute Vilaña intercepted a ball headed for the box and cleared it away.
Ryxtylopia had their last chance of the game around the 81rst minute when Vilaní received a good pass from Farris and passed it to Fydó who had his ball blocked by one of the kalmash defenders.
Kalmach continued with the pressure until their last chance in the 90+1rst minute during the 3 minutes of stoppage time, when they received a corner kick, but shot to the net but defender E. Guivéz deflected the ball towards the midfield, where the match ended 1-1.
Fans left the stadium, the game was sort of intense but many were disappointed by not winning their first game at home, the game exposed however how loud “The Band” was, with the whole Rivalda singing almost in unisense with several songs, as fans stayed right up until the end of the match.

From the best known song; Adilentí Ryxtylopia! to Biutre Ródeado, and insults at the federal police, flags and banners everywhere and the fireworks and singing at the start, the match probably had the best atmosphere during that day.
But the players didn’t celebrate, as they got ready to train the next day, as their next match would be against a team that beat them 4-1 in the previous competition, almost condemning the last team to fall in the groups, and previous finalists: Larxia.
