Dalimbar got a reaction from Big Bad Badger in Gratitude thread
@Bran Astor You've been one of my closest friends. This was the case before you were my boss. This will be the case after you're my boss. While you're my boss here, you've been one of the best people that I've served under. I like that you challenge me to think in new ways, and I like that you allow me to challenge you as well. I like that we can have very frank discussions and as much as I've be annoyed for a brief couple days, you're always ready for the next discussion that I bring up. You're a true comrade and friend.

Do you really respect someone? Do you admire someone or their hard work? Then use this thread to thank them. Right now we live in uncertain times, the world we create is the one we make. We should spread as much gratitude as we can. Recognize someone in the thread below, list out why they mean something to the region, to you or to thank them for contributions.

Dalimbar reacted to Saint Mark in Gratitude thread
There are so many people I could thank here. TWP is filled to overflowing with good people. I really am blessed to have been "born" in this region.
So one person .... hmmm ...
I think I would like to thank @Big Bad Badger. When I was a noob, he was the TWPAF Commander and tried to teach me raiding. I stunk at that, but he saw potential in me in other ways and stuck with me, mentoring me when he became delegate and including me in his plans. In addition to helping me personally in NS, he has been a huge asset to the region. His reforms began our TWP renaissance. Even after his delegacy, he has continued to be active and supportive.
Thanks, Badger!

@Dilberis the most amazing boss that I have had the pleasure of working for in this game. He inspires me to do work without ending. He is my best friend, he is loyal as hell, he is always willing to give himself to a dedicated cause. He is truly one of the kindest and heart of gold people I have ever met.

Here is some more.
@Dalimbarwhile threatening to purge me is an amusing, steady snarky consistent resource and asset to the region. While he may threaten, he has the region's interests best at heart, infamous as almost "evil" Dilber in a sense, his hard working talent leads to the protection of our region. His humor, his participation keeps the region going, while he does quite a bit in the background, I appreciate his opinion, snark and general contribution to the region. People keep the community going, whether in obvious ways, behind the scene, whether in being a pillar of community. TWP would not be the same without trying to bedazzle Dali's banhammer. Dali is a significant and important member of this community that I am lucky to know (seriously).
@Fujai is extremely hard working. He is always coming up with new ideas for culture, promoting activity within the region and with the newspaper. He has amazing skills and he is just a joy to watch work. He clearly knows what he is doing, and he is a remarkable individual. He is kind, good-hearted, humorous and full of snark.

Dalimbar got a reaction from Clarkov in TWP Rugby World Cup [rosters, roleplays, results]
In light of the recent protests from foreign nationals against longstanding Dalimbari frontier policy, the Protector General of the Free State of Dalimbar, Field Marshal Markus Briand, had the following to say:
"Fellow Dalimbari, what the unwashed hippies attacking our embassy don't understand is that our frontier policy of fortification by landmines is a peaceful policy. We have indicated to the world that we will not expand our realm further, although we strongly believe that the world needs more Dalimbar. The landmines are as much for your safety as ours. Keep out of our yard and we will stay out of yours. The moment we remove those fortifications is the moment the world gets more Dalimbar."
An official diplomatic protest has been raised to the international community, noting that the sanctity of embassies must be protected at all times. Further demonstrations against our diplomatic or other facilities may be seen as a failure on the part of the hosting party and will require Dalimbari forces to station themselves in the embassy for protection of our assets and personnel.

Dilberian students LOVE the new school-focused mascot of the Dilberian Dopin' Dogs. Replacing the old D.A.R.E class with a class taught by Dopey has led to enhanced physical performance, raising the next generation of rugby players, as soon as they finish second grade.

Dalimbar reacted to Reçueçn in TWP Rugby World Cup [rosters, roleplays, results]
Reçueçn, Reçueçn—Reçueçn City Chief of Police Marie Rocher-Éby released a statement today warning Fujar sports fans visiting Reçueçn for the Rugby World Cup not to join planned protests outside the Dalimbar embassy. "All protesters, regardless of nationality, will be subject to arrest and prosecution," said Rocher-Éby. "The Rugby World Cup has been planned here in Reçueçn as a wonderful opportunity to bring The West Pacific together, and it is a shame that anyone would want to ruin the very moment where we put aside our differences to come together in a sporting match with their divisive political agenda. An event like this, on Reçuecian soil, is not the time or place to be dredging up old conflicts between third parties." The Chief of Police also indicated that security would be tightened at all World Cup events. Subsequent to the the release of the statement, the Reçueçn City police department proactively stationed additional police patrols outside the Dalimbari embassy.
Other Reçuecian government officials softened the message. "The Ministry of Foreign Affairs may be vacant," said one ministry staffer, who requested to remain anonymous, "but that doesn't allow the Chief of Police to take over international policy. Reçueçn recognizes that the tension between Dalimbar and Fujai is nuanced and complicated, and actions taken by municipal police officers do not represent international politics decisions taken by our government."
These more moderate voices, however, have not put in place a more concrete response to the Chief of Police's statement, and news pundits backed up Rocher-Éby and seemed to think that most Reçuecians would, too. "We don't want our neighbors hashing out their fights in our country," said one talk show host. "It's not interfering in their politics to ask them to settle their problems elsewhere. Plus, if this protest is being indirectly sponsored by the Fujansk government, that's a big deal, and if they go through with it, I expect the response to get a lot sterner, fast. If those protesters show up tonight, I hope the cops lock 'em all up."
An interesting turn for this World Cup that had started out all roses and sunshine, and the first sign of tension between the historically amicable Reçueçn and Fujai in years.

Dalimbari Rugby Squad Match Report
Feb 23 - Dalimbar vs Big Bad Badger
23 - 13 Win
Tries: Theodor Rybar (15', 38'), Vasco Barta (62')
Conversions: Kristen Navratil (16', 39')
Penalties: Fluvio Drago (27'), Marko Zellweger (52')
In a brutal grudge match against Big Bad Badger, Dalimbar was able to overcome a hard hitting and aggressive line from their opponents to win 23-11. Three Dalimbari players had to be taken off the field, with Valero Lang (Tighthead Prop, 3) being tackled by two BBB players at once at 19', and both the Arts brothers Alexandre (Openside Flanker, 7) and Florijan (Fly-half, 10) receiving injuries at 62' and 69' respectively. Valero Lang was replaced by Tore Sessa (17), Alexandre Arts by Jurriaan Gabrielli (22), and Florijan Arts by Javor Steuben (25).
Captain Theodor Rybar (Number 8, 8) continued to lead the drive from his position, scoring two tries at 15' and 38' when the BBB squad provided openings in the centre. Kristen Navratil (Inside Centre, 12) was more confident in the conversion attempts compared to last match, converting both of Rybar's tries. Vasco Barta (Outside Centre, 13) was fancy on his feet, receiving the ball from Saveli Lafrentz (Right Wing, 14) at 10 m to the line, dodging three players from BBB before smashing the ball at the top right corner. Navratil tried to make the extremely difficult conversion but made a valiant attempt.
*In Saint Andreisberg, government officials watching the tournament howled in laughter at seeing the barbarian teams from Fujai and Nieubasria lose their matches today.*

Protesters Raise "Minesweeper" Flag Outside Dalimbari Embassy February 26, 1420
Above is pictured an approximation of a flag raised by a protester outside the Dalimbari Embassy during the demonstrations on this Tuesday. A number of social issues groups gathered outside the Dalimbari diplomatic mission in Clarendon to demonstrate - one such group that claimed authorship of the "Minesweeper" flag was attempting -in the words of Jolanda Piers- to "raise social consciousness of the Dalimbari Junta's inhumane use of landmines all along its border to keep its oppressed population in and democratic ideals out".

Sunday 23rd February - Matchday 1 - Win
Dalimbar Union da Rugby 17-18 Härtferdsierndeambeu Ragbi Junjen (HT: DUR 12-0 HRJ)
Tries: Ongo Vidopliassova (42'), Robert Lee (65'), Mina Klebitz (78')
Penalties: Scott Bevan (49')
First Half Report: The Dalimbari team began the game the better team, inflicting heavy pressure on the Anglian side. This almost relentless pressure soon paid off, with Barta scoring a try in the 13th minute, although a conversion would not follow. At the 25 minute mark, Dalimbar increased their lead thanks to Rybar, and this time Navratil would score his conversion. The rest of the first half was pretty quiet. Hertfordshire and Jammbo had it all to do in the second half.
Second Half Report: After Isambard May had a right go at the players for their lacklustre first half performance, the pep talk/angry rant had an effect, as Hertfordshire and Jammbo came out guns blazing and almost immediately scored their first try of the game, courtesy of Ongo Vidopliassova. A conversion, much like most tries in the game, did not get converted. Seven minutes later, and the HRJ lost a player through injury. Williana Zelensky collided with Victor Labelle of Dalimbar and dislocated her shoulder as a result. It is feared she will be out for the rest of the tournament. In response, Scott Bevan secured a penalty. Eventually, Dalimbar picked up steam again, with Rybar scoring his second try of the game, but this would be the limit of the Dalimbari scoreline. At 65 minutes, Robert Lee cleverly manoeuvred his way around the Dalimbari team and put Hertfordshire and Jammbo in with a shout. Again, no conversion. Finally, just 2 minutes before match's end, Mina Klebitz, who had been brought in for the injured Zelensky, scored the try that granted a sneaky victory to the HRJ. There was to be no conversion, but it didn't matter. Hertfordshire and Jammbo had just pulled off an unlikely comeback.
Next Time: Härtferdsierndeambeu have two bye days before they do battle against Big Bad Badger at the Chapel-Field House in Reçueçn City. Dalimbar Union da Rugby have one bye day before facing the same opponent at Stade de la Reformation in Genève.
