Consular Posted May 7, 2015 Posted May 7, 2015 Oh god Westwind... I don't think I have any words that will be of any use here. Life can suck
Westwind Posted May 7, 2015 Author Posted May 7, 2015 Thank you kindly. I even got a hug from a TSA agent at the airport. I explained to my daughter that there are times in life when the status quo and prevailing paradigm of your life is suddenly and irrevocably changed before a new 'normal' is established.....until the next event that comes along. Change is the only constant. My mind grasps peices of lyrics, quotes, poetry... "Life goes from bad to worse I still choose to live Find a measure of love and laughter And another measure to give I still choose to live And give, even while I grieve Though the balance tilts against me I was brought up to believe" Perseverance leads you to the future dawn. Life always goes on. Little Sealand and Llamas 2
Elegarth Posted May 7, 2015 Posted May 7, 2015 Change and death are the only constants. I wish you the best from the bottom of my heart, WW. One always comes out of those tunnels different, but still oneself. /heartfelt hug
URAP Posted May 8, 2015 Posted May 8, 2015 Good lord, AGP. I have no words. I wish you the best, Comrade.
Westwind Posted May 18, 2015 Author Posted May 18, 2015 Thank ye I am home again, however received more bad news. My half-brother was taken to the hospital last night, his heart stopped this morning. Cause unknown, he's in ICU. 2015 is not being kind. Meanwhile, my lawn is all tall grass and taller weeds since I've been gone so long.
Mediobogdum Posted May 18, 2015 Posted May 18, 2015 Meanwhile, my lawn is all tall grass and taller weeds since I've been gone so long. To add a slightly more positive note, as long as you are taller than your grass and weeds, you know you're okay Thinking of you - stay strong. Westwind 1
Westwind Posted May 19, 2015 Author Posted May 19, 2015 To add a slightly more positive note, as long as you are taller than your grass and weeds, you know you're okay Thinking of you - stay strong. Reminds me of lyrics again....(BBD should recognize these) "Getting over, over hanging trees...." also "And here you stand no taller than the grass seas...." Oh well.... Now the verses I've sang Don't add much weight To the story in my head So I'm thinking I should go and write a punchline....
Consular Posted May 19, 2015 Posted May 19, 2015 Do not stand at my grave and weep I am not there; I do not sleep. I am a thousand winds that blow, I am the diamond glints on snow, I am the sun on ripened grain, I am the gentle autumn rain. When you awaken in the morning's hush I am the swift uplifting rush Of quiet birds in circled flight. I am the soft stars that shine at night. Do not stand at my grave and cry, I am not there; I did not die. ~ Mary Elizabeth Frye Westwind and URAP 2
A fish in the sea Posted May 23, 2015 Posted May 23, 2015 ... I'm sorry about what's happeneing to you right now Westy. It's really quite terrible, and it's a shame to happen. Best wishes, -Fish Westwind 1
Westwind Posted May 23, 2015 Author Posted May 23, 2015 Thank you most kindly, my half-brother died, his funeral is today. His brain stem burst. Bizarre, eh ?
URAP Posted May 24, 2015 Posted May 24, 2015 When I read this, I am heartily sorry for you, but also, I am honoured that you still take the time to be with us. Thank you. I rubbed some dust off of that sign we have, the one that we all thought said "The West is The Best". It actually says, "The Westy is the Best". Westwind and A fish in the sea 2
Hariko Posted May 29, 2015 Posted May 29, 2015 (edited) So, I've gotten sick with some sort of viral infection that makes me drowsy and have a sore throat, as well as a few other symptoms. It's going around town. #BanIRL.Because I'll be asleep a lot, not really able to follow what's going on, I'll be absent for a while. Thanks for waiting!*sneeze* I have made a surprisingly quick recovery. Carry on. Edited May 31, 2015 by Hariko
Nox Posted June 8, 2015 Posted June 8, 2015 More head injuries, more hospital for me. Won't have access to my computer or any of my files, but I can still be around on my phone.
Nox Posted June 8, 2015 Posted June 8, 2015 I'm very prone to messing up my head, it's been a pretty common thing since I was six. I've been to the hospital so often that I'm on a first name basis with some of the doctors. It's nothing too serious, so I'm not particularly worried, I'll hopefully be back soon.
Bhang Bhang Duc Posted June 27, 2015 Posted June 27, 2015 Work related travel is going to be high for me in July, so my presence here will continue to be spotty.
