So late to reply... But curiously enough I was also RL editor of a small monthly magazine we ran on the Physics School of my University from 2002 to 2008. We called it "La QuantiTica" (Quantum + Tico being the usual reference to Costa Ricans in latin america).

It started as a single 8x17 sheet of paper folded in the middle, 4 pages of content, and the last one was similarly created with 16 pages. We ran articles on current research in the Uni's research centers, news from the School staff and the Students Association staff, "Envelope Physics" challenges, scientific humour and weird fringe-science histories.

I edited and compiled it all in PAINT at the start, as I had no other tools back then! I didn't even had a computer, did it all in Internet Cafes. I loved it... 

I think I should have been journalist...

If not, do we want one? I'd like to think I can help run one... but I would like to know where we are at now. I've been sort of disconnected and away for a while...

My main issue with the 1 post per month thing is that as I got older, I really only reply to things that are relevant.  I'm active in the discord, and people know I'm around, but there isn't always a "topic of interest" to post on here.  
 
I looked at the book thread,  but it's only a couple posts long with the last response being in August.  We do a lot of stuff on the Regional board, but it might be worth bringing some of those topics here at the same time.

Honest opinion, it would have happened at some point.  I was a PRP governor around that time to, and people were getting bored.  I remember CN was expected to be a distraction, but it ended up being more engaging that NS was at the time.  There were periods though where people struck out from CN to go into games like lunar wars and whatnot, but they always went back to CN.

That was my recollection, but I wasn't sure. I was pretty much working directly with Gates. (Which was good with all the factions I was trying to juggle.)
I think CN's impact on NS is often forgotten or discounted. Gameplay was impacted by the talent migration to CN as much as it was by Influence. 

Although there was dissatisfaction in the NS gameplay ranks before CN that boosted interest.

My desire to rule NPO is directly involved with the way Moo and Ivan drove traffic to those other realms.  Though that duality gave us Elegarth (whom I adore!), I still hold a bit of a grudge against Moo and Ivan for the decimation of the NPO by CN.

In a hot, pickled minute.  My one regret from my former life in NS was that I never became the NPO's first Empress.  It wasn't for lack of trying.  Just ask Moo.
I promise to get to more of Westy's questions tonight.  I just wanted to answer that one since it had a nice straight answer.

I miss NS like it was in 2013-2014. Everyone knew who hated who. Now everyone is sneaking around behind each other's backs and nobody knows who they can trust and I don't like it.
