Elegarth reacted to Pestarzt in The Revolution's Roadmap
Milograd has gone the way of all living things.
Elegarth, you say that TWP isn't open, but it is: you're here, despite a perceived disagreement.
***
TWP doesn't believe in the word "coups", first of all. Coup has connotations of illegitimacity. In reality, a delegacy change is just a delegacy change. Beyond that, the context varies.
Proactivity from the players and a desire to control their own destinies is inevitable, as far as I'm concerned. There are three clear possible paths that TWP might go on: the Revolutionary Party may assume power and ensure an active future, nations unassociated or oppositional to the Party may engage themselves in the government and lead themselves to a more active TWP, or the Guardians may force someone to step up.
The question isn't whether TWP is going to undergo a change: the question is how it's going to, and who are the nations that are going to be at the forefront of this change.

Facepalming is only smacking yourself because someone else did something stupid. While it only takes 56 muscles to reach out and slap that person.

I remember when I was wee little boy, I wanted a dog. And my mom lied to me saying she was allergic to dogs. So I got 4 birds instead. I believed her for more than I would like to admit.

Elegarth reacted to God-Emperor in So you want to be a Delegate
What about rogue delegacies supported by the Guardians?
I envision the Regional Guard that I mentioned in my fifth and final point as a check against rogue delegacies. Seeing a few scores of regional guard flags endorsing the delegate and vice delegate that can potentially disappear within just a few days should give any potential rogue delegates pause.
If the Guardian system was abandoned all at once, I would agree with you, but I'm only suggesting a very gradual phasing out of the system. As the Guardians are very gradually phased out, their nations would still maintain a very high level of influence. That being said, any GCR is virtually impervious to external threats, and, as almost every GCR has shown, it's almost impossible to protect against internal threats indefinitely. While the Guardian system is the reason why TWP is the most secure GCR behind The Pacific, I believe it's also the reason why TWP is also the most stagnant GCR behind The Pacific. Any nation that has been founded in the region in more than two years has had zero chance of becoming delegate, and we all know that's the one thing most new nations want to eventually do. I think we need to stop trading security for activity. A reputation as a more inclusive region is one we need to begin to foster.
