Commission an Embassy in Yakadu
Kalmach replied to Zogradia's topic in Roleplay - How the West Was Won
- The full title of your nation. The United Nations of Kalmach - Do you have a particular architectural style in mind for the chancery* building? (Feel free to send an image if you have something specific in mind, or leave this question blank if you're fine with a more generic design) The Kalmachian Embassy should be a building on its own, ideally not touching any other building. A fence around it would be nice as well. If you want any lore reason for this, the Kalmachian government makes a big deal about foreign embassies and you could say that the funding for the building was directly provided for by the Kalmachian government. - What is the name of your ambassador? Role Kromann - How big is the diplomatic complement? (IRL this is typically 20-50 people, but can be in the 100s depending on how close the two nations are. Note that most staff members generally live in regular housing, outside embassy grounds) 41 - What are your security needs? Low? High? High security, whole war situation, may be people willing to do acts of protests or worse as a sign of disagreement. - Will you be hiring locally to supplement your security or other administrative needs? (The past 3 questions will determine the size of the chancery and its property) No - Name any other cities in which you would like to commission a consulate (optional). - Would you like the Federal Republic of Zogradia to send an embassy to your capital city as well? If you'd like, your choice. -

Kalmach replied to Qyr's topic in Roleplay - How the West Was Won
Wednesday, 3rd of January, 1341 City of Tórshaven, State of Óstóhav 1500 Local Time A rainy day is upon the 2nd Armoured Brigade of the Royal Kalmachian Army. Slowly while taking his time, a soldier with the grand responsibility of counting cars for his battalion strolls along in discomfort while doing his job. Another soldier approaches. “Hey, how’s it going.” “Fine. While small discrepancies have appeared, nothing major yet. The tally so far makes sense according to my estimate. I haven’t counted them all yet, after all, so can’t say for sure.” A small pause appeared, with the other soldier appearing hesitant to speak further. “Rumors are going around.” “Rumors?” “The Empire is apparently collapsing from the inside out. Multiple stationed soldiers elsewhere have reported unrest among the local populace, mostly in Ionia. The motherland as well, is no exception. Democratic extremists in Hellessia, Skaia, and Hennland have begun increasing activity and recruitment to their cause. I have a feeling we’ll see the end of our nation soon.” “... Perhaps. Either way, that isn’t our job to worry about.” The soldier slightly spots a person in the corner of his eye. Slowly, as if taking a casual stroll, approaches Colonel Aleksander Vibork the two soldiers. With a determined pace, he heads towards the soldier given the task of tallying the total amount of Asir Blamhunns that his battalion have been supplied before takeoff. He bears a wet, yet straight coat slightly waving in the uncomfortable combination of wind and rain. “Soldiers.” He speaks “Yes sir!” “Slacking off are we? How’s that tally going.” “Well, sir! Almost finished.” The Colonel thinks for a moment. “Where are we headed tomorrow?” He asks. This is of course not out of curiosity, the Colonel just liked these small tests from time to time. Failure would lead to way too many pushups to continue comfortably holding the clipboard, so the soldier answered as correctly as he could. “We are headed down to Ionia to make sure that no civil war within the country takes place, sir!” “Party correct, twenty pushups.” “Shit”, the soldier mutters under his breath, letting the half-soaked clipboard lay flat on the ground as he puts his hands on the wet asphalt. As the Colonel pops a cheeky smile, he explains. “While it’s true that your destination was correct, the fact is that a civil war in Ionia is inevitable. That little septic tank of a colony has long been way more trouble than it’s worth, but, as the emperor says, it is necessary for complete Kalmachian domination of Nur. There are also talks of Inseberistan involvement, but who knows at this point.” The Colonel states blankly for a second. “Anyway, how does everything check out so far soldier?” Finishing his final pushups, the soldier picks up the wet clipboard and dries his hands off on his green, state-issued trousers. "Reporting, sir. While it seems we are a bit shorthanded on Tiker IIs, we have a slight surplus of Blamhunns. Rifles are a check, as well as artillery. I have yet to finish counting of the support equipment." "Sound great so far. We continue according to schedule. You two, report to the airfield barracks at 1700 regarding briefing for tomorrow." "Yes, sir!" As the rain intensified, multiple groans could be heard from exhausted soldiers. But none of them had any idea of what was to come, as a long, long decade of fighting was ahead of them. -

Article 9 Kalmachian International Relations (And a bit of history) Official factbook directly from the Goverment of Kalmach Click here to go back to the top Might be slightly outdated, i won't update it now, will at some point though. Fauthur - 9.1 Being a former member of the Empire, and having recently changed in favor of a more democratic and modern government, Fauthur has good relations with Kalmach. However, these have soured after the invasion of Garahun. Sekiya - 9.2 For a long time, Sekiya disliked Kalmach for preventing their expansion conquest in southern Nur in the Great Nuran War. However, their relationship has recently improved after volunteers from Sekiya arrived on the Garahunnic front to fight for Kalmach. It may seem like indirect support for the Kalmachian cause. Ostronia - 9.3 A former colony, Ostronia is still quite under the thumb of Kalmach. Kalmach, having both a military presence and an ethnic minority in the country, is essentially controlling Ostronian affairs behind the scenes. Therefore, relations are very strong between the countries. Ostronia also lets Kalmachian planes and ships refuel and repair in their ports, even with the military base located in Tristhavn. Norton Mast - 9.4 A former part of the empire, however, relations are unclear as we've yet to figure out exactly how much the Noton-Mastian peoples liked the Kalmachian presence in the country. Ionia - 9.5 Being a very resistant colony, the only reason that these two countries still hold some sort of positive relationship is because of the defense and support that Kalmach provided during the Great Nuran war. Giovanniland - 9.6 Giovanni relations with Kalmach have been unstable ever since the violet slaughter of 1049, however, relations have bettered since the civil war of 1345. The government's chance away from the imperial faction helped relations for the better since the new, more liberal government is focused on bettering relations and trade with all nations of Esforos. Garahun - 9.7 Garahunnic relations with Kalmach have been rough throughout history. The main reason for the tension is the issue of their borders. Both claim lands that the other claim, so peace was never an option. The ethnic groups of the area of their border is seen below. As a result of these tensions, multiple wars have been fought. However the most notable events are the following The South Hallessekratamian war (1420-present) The demand for South Hallessekratamia (1345) Let us start with the demand for South Hallessekratamia. This was an event that happened because of a rash decision made by the Garahunnic government. They decided to take advantage of the second Kalmachian civil war and demanded a large territory from them in the southeast of their country. They threatened an all-out invasion if this demand was not met. As the Anti-Imperialist government did not want to fight a war on two fronts, they decided to hand over the territory, although reluctantly. This landgrab by Garahun eventually made way for the South Hallessekratamian war. This was a war where Kalmach cited intentions of anti-opression and liberation. As of 1423, the front looks like this: Originally, Kalmach's plan was to set up a puppet-state in the area by funding resistance groups in the area, however this failed after Garahun executed multiple resistance leaders of the area. Refer to this post to get more info on this event. Campa Simpatica - 9.8 -

It was a formal state-sponsored union of different badminton teams of the states of Norddistaten, Henessa, Easthaven (Gr. Easthaven included) and Hallessekratamia. The best players of the badminton leagues are by far birthed in Norddistaten. Even with the small population, the best players of Kalmach history are birthed in this state. These are the current top 10 players of the UKBL (As of the 1422 Kalmachian championship). 1. Sefto Poisson 2. Lars Kenssi 3. Kinschten Teftsson 4. Poul Traghsten 5. Pirkschta Femte 6. Willsen Gesner 7. Utonscht Persikschti 8. Krista Poulsson 9. Utoniv Hikaras 10. Karlssen Rhiness The Kalmachian Badminton Championship (KBC for short) Every year on the 24th October, the Kalmachian Badminton Championship Language - 8.2 The Kalmachian language, or Kalmash is a language very similar to danish with a small hint of slavic. Religion - 8.3 The official state religion of Kalmach is Yellowism, where around ~96% of the population follows it. They dislike the violotists, as they believe the religion to have relations to the evil god, Lillja. Here is what is known about Yellowism: Before the concept of time even existed, the higher being known only as “Gúl '' descended upon earth. Earth, being an empty wasteland at the time, was incredibly barren and colorless. Gúl took it upon himself to create the sky, the earth and the intern. After which he made three beings who would govern the world. “Plå” would govern the sky and the sea, “Drôn” would govern the land and “Líllja” would govern the intern. Here, it had the gift of infinite freedom of creativity, as long as it promised not to create life. Living in harmony for millions of years, Plå and Drôn would make fantastical creatures known as the Pingsvines. However, Lillja was not able to create life. As generous as the all-knowing lord himself is, Gúl went too far with the power it granted Lillja. Being jealous of the gods on the outside, Lillja decided to destroy everything the other gods worked hard for, introducing elements such as death, natural disasters and worst of all, sin. It killed every single one of the Pingsvines, who had been roaming the earth peacefully for millions of years. Gúl, and the other gods, decide to discuss what to do with Lillja for a whole millennia, before finally deciding to banish Lillja to a life of infinite darkness, to make it repent for its actions. The one place Lillja felt at home, the Intern, was turned into a sea of black, with nothing to be seen in any direction. Core Deities and Concepts Gúl: God of everyone, creator of all, god of judgment and light. Plå: God of the sea and the sky. Drôn: God of the earth. Líllja: God of the intern, death, and natural disasters. Intern: A place filled only with darkness. It is the place people are sent to repent after living a life of sin. (Essentially hell) Riek te Lys: Heaven. Sacred Writings and Scriptures The holy texts of Yellowism are collectively known as the "Gúldruhn". This sacred scripture is divided into several books: "Sjkabelsens Båk" (Book of Creation): Details the creation of the world by Gúl and the governance by Plå, Drôn, and Líllja. "Pingschvienns Saga" (Saga of the Pingsvines): Chronicles the lives and extinction of the Pingschvienn, the fantastical creatures created by Plå and Drôn. "Lílljas Falt" (The Fall of Líllja): Describes the events leading to Líllja's jealousy, the introduction of death and sin, and Líllja’s ultimate banishment to the intern. "Dåmmens Lys" (Light of Judgment): Outlines the ethical and moral codes set by Gúl for all living beings. Ethics and Rules of Conduct Ærbøtighet får Livet (Reverence for Life): All life is sacred and must be protected and respected. Taking life unnecessarily is a grave sin. This includes vague depictions of what is considered “alive”. Stuff that is not considered alive is subhuman species, for example, Garahunnians and Aukerans (jk), Cows, Insects, Fish, etc. Yellowism description of life is something that cognitively forms complex thoughts. Ærlikhet og Retfærdikhet (Honesty and Justice): Follow the path of Gúl by being truthful and fair in all dealings. Sammenhåll og Fred (Unity and Peace): Strive for harmony among all beings. Avoid conflicts and work towards peaceful coexistence in the name of Gúl. Angring og Fårlòsning (Repentance and Redemption): Those who sin must seek redemption through sincere repentance and must work to make amends. Those beyond salvation may be banished from life as the judgment is beyond our mere mortal understanding. Rules of Worship Daklik Bòn (Daily Prayer): Devotees must pray to Gúl every day at noon, honoring the light and seeking guidance. This is done by facing up at the sky, spreading your arms, and closing your eyes. This prayer may be done lying or standing, to one's preference. Månetlik Fællesskab (Monthly Communion): On the first day of each month, followers gather to give small gifts, first to the gods and then to each other. One Jælpar (priest) must be present for each monthly communion. Årlik Festival (Annual Festival): An annual celebration is held to commemorate the creation of the world and to honor Plå and Drôn for their contributions. This festival includes grand offerings of beautiful creations to symbolize life and harmony. It is typically on the 1st of June. Traditionally it followed the Old time system, but state-encouraged modernity campaigns have changed it to follow a more standard schedule. Life After Death Yellowism teaches that after death, souls are judged by Gúl. The righteous are granted passage to "Riek te Lys" (Realm of Light), a place of eternal peace and creativity. Those who have sinned are sent to the Intern, where they must repent in the darkness until they are deemed worthy of redemption. When Líllja deems fit, a soul may be reevaluated for Riek te Lys. Organized Institutions Templer te Lys (Temples of Light): These are sacred places where followers gather to worship Gúl and seek guidance from the holy texts. Essentially churches. Rankings of the templar: Fóljer (Follower): Your average Yellowist joe Leter (Leader): A person helping in the monthly communions. No education is required, and one can simply apply online at a templar website to become one for a small fee. Jælpar (Priest/Helper): Education required. One who leads official monthly communions. Typically lives in the building in which the communions are held. Hòjjælpar (High-priest/High-helper): Education required. Oversees a templar, a place where people go for guidance, off-time prayer and repentance. Highly respectable job. Vogter (Guardian): The same as a Hójjælpar, except with the additional responsibilities of the “Vogtere te Skjabelse”. Creasentanten (The Representative of Gúl): Selected by the Vogtere. The holy figure of Yellowism, and the repræsentative of all of Yellowism worldwide. Highest possible position within Yellowism. Vogtere te Skjabelse (Guardians of Creation): A selective and dedicated group of high-priests who oversee rituals, teach the sacred scriptures, and guide the community in ethical living. These individuals are asked to vote on problems within Yellowism, and a unanimous vote among them must be passed for any changes to be made. Råtet får Fret (Council of/for Peace): A council elected from a selected group of priests to resolve disputes and promote unity and harmony. -

Article 4 History Official factbook directly from the Goverment of Kalmach Click here to go back to the top Historical Events of Kalmach (964 BF-present) - 4.1 Lost Days of Easthaven (964 BF-346) - 4.1.1 Known Information [WIP (REWORK)] Not much of this era is known by historians, as first-hand sources are very few. However, sacred texts mentioning Easthaven can be traced back to 892 BF mentioning Easthaven as a small city-state. Kalmash had changed massively since then, so translators are hard at work translating ancient texts. Kingdom of Easthaven (346-984) - 4.1.2 Era of Unification (984-1104) - 4.1.3 The Violet Slaughter - 1049 April 4th, 1049 marks the day that the imperial government chose to commit one of the worst genocides in Kalmachian history. Having experienced massive migration from Giovonniland because of recent territorial success, and supposed freedom of religion, the newly formed UKK found itself divided, with the main religion, Yellowism, hating the newly-arrived Violetists. As such, a secret plan to get rid of them was formed by the nobles of Easthaven. Over 8 days, approximately 13 thousand Violotist civilians were hung/executed by firing squad in masses. This would come to be known in modern times as "The Violet Slaughter" Giovonniland, the nation to which most of these citizens had a genetic heritage, had an immediate reaction, immediately cutting all ties and sanctioning the UKK from all Giovannilandian trade. Giovannilandian relations have since improved after the government change as a result of the Kalmachian civil war in 1345. Surviving violitists fled to modern-day Fauthur for a haven. First Colonial Expansion Era (1104-1163) - 4.1.4 Kalmachian Integration Attempt - 1105 In a period of 3 years from 1105 to 1108, the government in Easthaven started the process of integrating the member states of the UKK. Though the integration of the government was successful, a short integration like that was doomed to be ineffective. This is the event that is told to be the prelude to the first and second Kalmachian Civil War. Second Colonial Expansion Era (1163-1239) - 4.1.5 First Kalmachian Civil War - 1314 [WIP (REWORK)] Era of Instability - End of the Empire (1345-1394) - 4.1.7 Second Kalmachian Civil War - 1345 [WIP (REWORK)] April 1345 marks the day that the Anti-imperialists rose against the Empire. Their primary goal was de-colonizing and granting freedom to the colonies. The Imperial faction capitulates in June of 1347. At the start of the war, the imperial family was kidnapped by the anti-imperialists, and executed, thus bringing an end to the Kalmach bloodline. Through two excruciating years, the imperial government did its best but was nonetheless surrounded by all sides. The fight was decided from the start. The imperialist plan was to capitulate Arnssted and Henessa. After, they wanted to split the remaining forces into smaller groups and then follow up by encircling and crushing them. All major generals and strategists of Kalmach had gone to the anti-imperial faction, so the plan went less than ideal. The state of Fauthur decided to declare independence after realizing that the empire was doomed to fail, as they were hardline imperialists at the time. Modern Era (1394-present) - 4.1.8 -

Other minority languages, besides common, (ascending in rarity) would include Faush, Garahunnic and Campan. Kalmash, or variations of it, are spoken in countries across Nur because of Kalmach's colonial past. This minority is specifically present in countries like Garahun, Campa Simpatica, Ostronia, Fauthur and Kikuyat. The national religion of Kalmach is Yellowism. Yellowism is presented in the flag of Kalmach through the color Yellow, which is to a small degree praised as superior to the other colors. Read here (google docs) for more info.
