This thread is an info-dumb on the war that's currently going on in northern Nur and a place where any person can ask questions about it!

General overview

The Kalmachian-Garahunnic war started in 1420 and was the result of the suppression of Kalmachian resistance fighters, and the execution of Kalmachian resistance organizers. Kalmach tried to set up an independent state in the ethnically Kalmash parts of Garahun. They wanted to support resistance members in the ethnically Kalmachian territories, and have them declare an independent state. This state would eventually vote to re-join Kalmach as an official union state.

(I accidentally spelled Garahun wrong lol)

After the executions, Kalmach had to basically give up on the thought of setting up a puppet state, but suddenly they had the excuse to launch a full-scale invasion and thus rushed with preparations. On April 14th of 1420, the Kalmachian government announced that they would be pacifying Garahun, and liberating the oppressed Kalmachians of Garahun. As of April 1423, the situation looks like this.

tl;dr points:

• Garahun oppressed the ethnic Kalmachians living in their country
• Kalmach never had any goals of conquering ethnically Garahunnic lands.
• Kalmach did not give a public ultimatum before launching the invasion, however, they did announce they would do it before the actual invasion. They did try and send one privately to Garahun, but met no answer.
• Kalmach does not wish to advance any further east as they believe it to be against their interest and goals
• Kalmach only captured Ilragon (A mostly Garahunnic city) because it was important strategically.
• Kalmach has not yet occupied all ethnic Kalmash lands.
• Both sides are likely to take heavy casualties in the event the war continues much longer.
• Kalmach refuses any peace talks that do not involve either an independent buffer state of ethnic Kalmachians, or the complete annexation of the ethnically Kalmash lands into Kalmach itself.
