West Fauthur Central Radio 8PM sharp

Moderator 1 (Lehan): Good Evening Fauthur! You're tuned in to West Fauthur Central Radio – Evening!, your source for all the latest news, updates, and of course, music. I'm Lehan, and joining me today is our esteemed colleague, Iltip. How are you today, Iltip?

Moderator 2 (Iltip): Good Evening Lehan! I'm doing well, thank you. It's great to be here, especially given the current state of affairs between Fauthur and Aftokratoria. We have a major incident to discuss today. To make things more urgent, it is BREAKING NEWS, Lehan!

Lehan: Absolutely, Iltip. As we all know, the tensions between Fauthur and Aftokratoria seem to be reaching new heights each day with all the pollitical drama and stuff. We've just received a report about a incident that's sure to add fuel to the fire.

Iltip: Literally! Reports indicate that five Fauthurian vessels, still unidentified, deliberately entered Aftokratorian waters earlier today and Shockingly dumped hundreds of barrels of oil into the waters. To make things worse, the zone they dumped the oil in was designated to be a protected natural habitat! Dear listeners, this is a MAJOR slap in the face, straining the fragile situation between Fauthur and Aftokratoria even more.

Lehan: Unbelievable! These actions will surely stick around for a while. Aftokratorian coastal defense forces have swooped in to respond. They wasted no time in taking the sailors on board those Fauthurian vessels into custody. It's important to remember that these sailors are Fauthurian citizens as well! No one except the coastal defense forces and maybe their ministry knows wht’s being done with these sailors and their vessels! We still have not received any updates nor statements on that matter. But still, you gotta say, It’s not been that long ago. In fact, this incident occurred around 3 hours ago! Their Coastal Defense is probably still cleaning up the mess these sailors made.

Iltip: Indeed, Lehan. This incident raises concerns not just about the environment but also about the potential escalation of hostilities. It remains to be seen how our government will respond to their citizens being held captive by Aftokratorian authorities.

Lehan: Absolutely, Iltip. The tension between the two nations has already led to protests and calls for peace from the public. This incident will undoubtedly intensify those sentiments or even make them worse. We can only hope that both governments take these calls seriously and work towards a peaceful resolution. We do not want a war in the worst case! No one wants that.

Illtip: Well said. It's crucial for Fauthur and Aftokratoria to prioritize dialogue and find common ground. The longer this animosity persists, the greater the risk of a full-blown conflict that could have devastating consequences for our country or even others.

Lehan: Now, it appears that our introductionary time frame is running a bit low. Let's move on to some traffic updates to keep our listeners informed. We have multiple incidents reported across the capital this morning. Firstly, there's heavy congestion Westbound on the A6 leading to Ibbenhausen, due to a multi-vehicle collision near the Lemko-District exit. Reportedly, a semi veered off the right lane into the left lane of traffic, striking a sedan. This followed into a huge wreck where multiple vehicles coud not break in time and piled up. There are a total of 8 vehicles involved. It has yet to be seen how many people are injured or even dead. Meanwhile, Emergency services are on the scene and the left lane has reopened, but major delays are expected, so please plan your commute accordingly.

Iltip: Let’s hope no one is injured. In addition to that, we have reports of a wrong-way driver on the A19 Northbound in direction to North Capital Helpe-District. Authorities are responding to the situation, but it's essential for all drivers to exercise caution and be aware of their surroundings.

Lehan: Thank you for the update, Iltip. Fauthurians, let's stay safe on the roads and remain vigilant. Remember, if you're stuck in traffic or need some calming tunes, we've got you covered with our next song. Up next, we have "Sunset Serenade" by the talented Fauthurian artist, Oliva Rehkle. So sit back, relax, and enjoy the music while we continue to monitor the latest developments and keep you informed here on West Fauthur Central Radio.

Iltip: That's right. Stay tuned, Fauthur! We'll be right back after the music with more news, updates, and the best music on the airwaves.

I think something that drives me away from the being reborn in the future option is that: we don't know what it will bring, the chances are to be born into a better enviroment or a considerably worse one. While a lot of both good and bad things have happened in the past that we already know of.
This also depends if; you're able to choose how far into the future/past you would be reborn, to get rid of that element of uncertanty you could play it safe and do not soo far into the future or not soo uh past into the past (if that made sense). If the time you're sent forward or backwards was random i think id much rather just not be reborn into either.

I have a limited regard for the past save a few specific subsets of it and would rather see where the indomitable spirit of mankind takes us in the future. Although if I were born in the future my thoughts would probably be the same.

Well obviously it depends how far in the past and what time period and such, put I’d rather be born in the past, without hesitation. For one thing, we don’t know what the future holds. Literally anything could happen. Secondly, I am a straight white male living in Canada so I have a pretty decent chance of doing fine lol.

Although I find history very interesting, I wouldn't want to live in the past. There are many things that have improved over time, a great example is medicine. I don't think we will stop making progress, so a rebirth in the future sounds promising. However, because of the unpredictability, I wouldn't want to be reborn in the distant future. I would choose some point between 2040 and 2060.

I would live in he future when we have good body modification technology (and its widely accepted). I think I would also like to live somewhere in space on an artificial world. Like a flywheel space station or a ring world. That way I can live in a place where we have full control of nature so we can enjoy all of its benefits without any of its downsides.

Giovanniland reacted to Garahun in [Factbook] The Prince-Bishopric of Garahun
    Introduction
The Prince-Bishopric of Garahun is a zealous state proud of its great navy. The people follow the Iusmarite faith, and are led by a prince-bishop, elected by the Council of Illegon upon the previous Bishops death. The bishop holds almost complete control over the country but may be deposed by the Council of Illegon if it so pleases. Recently, however, laws making the calling together of the council difficult have been passed. Garahun has a population of almost 12.000.000 people, and the population is heavily militarized. The navy is led by the Synod of Udôn, who often holds sway over the prince-bishop. Garahun has naval bases around Udôn, and on the islands in the Salt Sea.

    The South Hallessekratamian War
After the Great Nuran War and the second Kalmachian Civil War in 1345-1347, tensions between Garahun and Kalmach were at an all-time high. During the civil war, the Anti-Imperialist government reluctantly ceded the provinces of South Hallessekratamia, Brahair, and Western Krymóst to Garahun. This was because of the Garahunnic threat of an all-out invasion of Hallassekratamia during the second civil war.
The prince-bishop oppressed the local Kratans of his newly acquired lands, but political resistance persisted. On the 6th of October 1419, the prince-bishop ordered the murder of several political figures and Kratan resistance members who had gathered in Anschenhof, which ended the organised resistance in South Hallessekratamia and Brahair. The 6th of October 1399 became known as the Red Night of Anschenhof.
The remaining resistance fighters called for Kalmachian aid.
Culminating factors of political murder by Garahun, the public support to reconquer their lost lands, and the suppression of their fellow brethren, caused the Kalmachian government to secretly plan a direct invasion of the country, with the aims of liberating the former Kalmachian territories of West Krymóst, and the entire states of South Hallessekratamia, and Brahair. The original plan had been to slowly increase resistance in the area, with hopes of setting up a puppet state that would later vote for re-unification, but with such a golden opportunity, the oligarchs pressured the president into using the assassinations as an excuse citing “blatant racial genocide, and discriminatory suppression of human rights”.
On the morning of the 20th of April 1420, the Kalmachian government gave a long statement on international state television that they would be entering Garahun for the purpose of liberating the Kalmachian majority in their former territories mentioned above.
In late April 1420, Kalmachian forces bombed the border of Garahun before entering South Hallessakratamia. The border guards of Garahun stood no chance and were completely overrun by the ground troops of the Kalmachian army. The Garahunnic navy was already mobilised and sailed to the strait of Brachiberg, where they pushed back the Kalmachian ships.
The Kalmachian land army conquered South Hallessekratamia within half a year, with minor resistance in the region being the deciding factor. The mostly Kratan, and by extension, Kalmash peoples of Southern Hallessekratamia received the Kalmachian army gracefully in Anschenhof. The Kalmachians of Anschenhof made it a holiday within the city, known as “Frihetschthagh” in Kalmash, or “Freedom-day” in common.
However, as the Kalmachians pushed slightly into majority Garahunnic territory, resistance slowly increased. It was for the Kalmachian army imperative that they captured the key city of Ilragon, as it was a supply area key to holding on to the long front line of guerilla warfare that the Kalmachians saw themselves in.
After conquering West Krymóst in November of 1420, the Kalmachians met heavy resistance at Udôn; a city split by the Marahor River. They conquered the west side, home to poor residents of primarily Kratan ethnicity. However, the Garahunnians destroyed the bridges on the river, and a stalemate ensued in the city. Garahunnic ships patrolled the river and forced the Kalmachians to dig in.
After a stand-still between the start of 1421 and late 1422, Kalmachian tanks rolled into the small city Ilragon, where the now battle-hardened Garahunnic forces had entrenched themselves and prepared anti-tank weaponry. After a two-day struggle leading to 15000 Kalmach and 7000 Garahunnic casualties, the Kalmachians took the city. The Garahunnians moved back to a second stronger line of defense.
Since this, another stalemate has persisted.
Kalmachian plans for the next stage of the war are primarily focused on occupying the rest of the Kratan and Oodwanese territories. As there’s still an area the size of Osto in the south that has yet to be liberated.
The Garahunnian navy is planning an invasion of the Kalmachian island of Osto, but reconsiderations of the idea are popping up, as the island is heavily garrisoned.

    The Council of Illegon

The council of Illegon was established in late 1036, when the city of Illegon was founded by Iusmarites fleeing from the religious genocide in Kalmach. These Iusmarite believers would go on to form the prince-bishopric of Garahun. The goal of the council was originally to decide how the people of the new nation of Garahun were to be ruled. Traditionally, they had lived on the island of Nordo and followed a strict codex of laws inscribed on three stone pillars (said to be the word of The Great Ius of the sea, their one god), but when they fled the island, they failed to bring the pillars with them.

The council, consisting of the 34 foremost religious-political leaders of the Iusmarites, declared that Garahun would be ruled by an elected prince-bishop, whose responsibility it would be to uphold the dominion of the great Ius in the country and act as his representative. The Council of Illegon would help the country (as a separate concept from the prince-bishop) in upholding and remembering the laws once written on the three holy pillars. They had the power to elect a new prince-bishop, even before the previous one died. (Although this would be very rare). All new laws were passed by the prince-bishop, who always remembered that he could be toppled if he did not follow the guidance or wishes of the council. All Garahunnic laws passed were claimed to have been written on the three pillars or were interpretations of well-known passages. During and after the reign of prince-bishop Mirkohas II. Theobaldicus, the lawmakers began inventing their own passages, which had no basis in the holy pillars of law.

The council of Illegon has 34 members. All members participate in the election of a new prince-bishop. 5 members (The Amarikoyôn) may call upon the council at any time if a majority of them agrees to do so. 16 of the members (The Dikares) are part of the holy court of Illegon, the highest religious court in Garahun, that can request changes to the laws put forth by the prince-bishop if they suspect they do not follow the word of the Great Ius of the sea. 14 members (The Yunaioron) have the power to initiate the election of a new prince-bishop. 1 member is the great elector (The Anahar-Ius), and may veto the election results of The Yunaioron, as well as being the overseer of the other councils. The Anahar-Ius must be celibate and over the age of 65 but is arguably the most powerful man in Garahun. Women are not allowed in the Council of Illegon, but often serve the military Council of Udôn (will be explained later).

    Garahunnic War of Religion

Between 1251 and 1254 Garahun went through a civil war. In 1251, the prince-bishop Ôlfar III. Sellarion declared himself to be the equal of the Great Ius of the sea, and that he was to be honoured as a second God – one of the overworld. This was the culmination of a long-standing debate within the Iusmarite faith, circulating around whether the prince-bishop was a vassal or spiritual equal to the Great Ius. (Traditionally being seen as the monotheistic god of the sea.)
Two factions emerged: ‘The Proselytisers’ under Ôlfar III, and ‘The Puritannics’ under Igor Theobaldicus, an influential member of the Synod of Udôn (Not to be confused with the later prince-bishop of the same name.)
After Ôlfar III Sellarion’s claim to godship, the Synod of Udôn (The holy synod in charge of Garahun’s navy) called for the elective council of Illegon to vote the prince-bishop out of power. But two decades of bribing, as well as sparse genuine support for Ôlfar III, led to almost every member in the council refusing. The Synod of Udôn declared Ôlfar III a heretic and announced their spiritual independence from him until the dominion of the great Ius of the sea had been re-established. In response, Ôlfar III called upon the Garahunnic army to pacify the synod of Udôn. In the beginning phases of the war, ‘The Proselytisers’ under Ôlfar III would have control over most of the land army, while ‘The Puritannics’ under Igor Theobaldicus would have control of the navy. Many citizens pledged their support to ‘The Puritannics’ because of their religious beliefs. They established guerrilla fighting groups, primarily in the south of Garahun.

Throughout the war, ‘The Proselytisers’ slowly lost control of the country. Arsium, the traditional capital of the country, fell in early 1254 and was burned to the ground. Ôlfar III was forced to flee to Illegon, where he met with the council he had bribed to his side by the end of the war. The Council of Illegon had during the siege of Arsium debated whether further support of Ôlfar III was in their interest, a majority of the council had argued that they no longer had the authority to overthrow him, because they had agreed to inaugurate him as a second god, not just a prince-bishop. But after Illegon was surrounded by Puritanic forces, the Anahar-Ius declared that the Council of Illegon no longer supported Ôlfar III. The Council met in the town square of Illegon and declared the end of Ôlfar III’s reign, and Ôlfar’s soldiers instantly betrayed him. The army and civilians of Illegon handed him over to the Puritannics. After the war, Igor Theobaldicus was elected as the new prince-bishop, and took the name Mirkohas. He did seek to destroy the Council of Illegon, as they had joined him near the end of the war. Because of the destruction of Arsium, Illegon became the new capital of Garahun.

    West Fauthur - May 25th, 1423
It truly has been some past difficult months for E-Fira Racing Team Leader Kentrijk Heifth and his team. Ever since word got out that the Esferos F1 Committee is scouting for suitable racing teams in Nur to take part in the grand Esferos F1 world cup, the team gave it their all and intensified their PR accordingly, pulling hoour after hour of overtime and giving racing and team building a lot of effort. In that time they won 3 major racing leagues. The Fauthurian Rallye Championship, The Fauhturian National High Speed Circuit Grand Prix Tournament, aswell as the RallyX Championship going alongside the normal Rallye Championship. During that time, many of E-Fira's drivers improved especially on high speed head to head races, and time cutting, consistency. Upon the announcement of E-Fira actually being accepted to the Esferos F1 Championship, the HQ in Bolia Verde, Espirtu Santo, must have been bouncing up and down with happiness. Fauthurian social media is also blowing up as we speak. There has never been so much pride and hype for Fauthur in a sporting competition since we were part of the United Nations of Kalmach. All kinds of people singing praises up and down.
Now, what an insider of TNW (your newspaper truly) found out, is that Head of Government, Kerglom Hafth has shown great interest in the success of the Fauhturian team in the upcoming Championship. He himself has not yet made any statements about this issue and keeps a poker face throughout the whole ordeal. Also seemingly withdrawing from the whole Aftokratorian affair as if it never happened. The Aftokratorian issue is being largely overshadowed by the Esferos f1 Championships currently and seemingly no one is batting an eye on international affairs for now. We hereby want to warn you, dear readers, that there is always a possibility of grave mistakes happening everywhere around you, as well as in the government. We ask you to keep this in mind as international affairs, especially the Championship progresses.
And please do not get rowdy in any foreign states. Always watch your alcohol intake and drive safe. We ourselves are also very proud of the Epsylon Fira Racing Team.

Giovanniland reacted to Ostronia in ADAKU: The Man Who Built a Nation
    Author's Note
Few times in the history of the world has a single man been responsible for the founding of an entire nation. Many will claim their nation's descent from a great and glorious founder, of course, but few will put aside patriotic mythology for historical fact. The careful study of history has shown that many legendary founders are just that—legends. This has made others cynical about their traditional heroes. They remove all human agency from the equation of human civilization and insist instead that the national identity subsists in nothing more in a complex web of social interactions, intricately (but not intentionally) woven by the forces foretold in political science, economics, sociology, group psychology and the other social sciences. The truth lies somewhere in the middle. Great men can be found in history, even if they often ride tidal waves of human emotion. Historical fact shows that a few men have been able to direct these titanic forces so many times greater than themselves towards their own ends—and that is why they are justly remembered as great men.

The true story of a founding father can be found in an unlikely place less than a century before our own time. Ostronia, the second-poorest country in Nur, the third-poorest in the world, was founded not by its notorious Kalmachian colonial overlords, but by the man who led its independence as one nation from them. That man's name was Adaku, and in this biography I will explore his extraordinary life as one of history's few great men.

New Maserut's soccer team wins the Candelù league, the glorious victory will be remembered.
    (Saturday, May 20th, 1423)
Tiveria, after winning the league for 3 years in a row, was eventually beaten by its main rival, which also happens to be our capital, New Maserut. This match has shown how much New Maserut's team has evolved through the years, and how its new captain and coach were able to bring the city's squad to the win.
The match took place in the capital's stadium, as anticipated before, it was against the city of Tiveria.
    Maserut's Team
    Tiveria's team
No one expected New Maserut to dominate the game, and the 4th win in a row for Tiveria was the most likely scenario everyone thought of. Though, from the kickoff, Tiveria's players were overwhelmed by the enemy team's power. Each one of the moves, shooting, passing, it showed the dedication and commitment to win.
New Maserut's offensive was able to breach through the enemies, allowing their star striker, Leonardo Ponte, to create a lot of score opportunities, most of which worked.
In the end, the win was 6 goals to 2, signing not only the end of the streak for Tiveronia, but also, one of the most remarkable days in our Capitals' modern sports history.

    Long live the Emperor.

Anti-colonial sentiment in Giovannilandian Andolia reaches new high as man is mildly upset about taxes
    by Jerry Poole, Head Writer
ANDOLIAVILLE, GIOVANNILAND — Global experts indicate that tensions in Giovannilandian territory in Andolia have reached historic highs after a man expressed minor irritation about Giovannilandilandian taxes.
Flavio Deresse-Lumine, of Andoliaville, was purchasing a bag of milk at the convenience store. He reportedly sighed upon seeing the total ring up. According to witness testimony from the cashier, he then said “Those taxes are adding up, huh?”
This brazen anti-government statement is the latest and most severe action by separatist movements in Giovannilandilandilandian Andolia. As news broke, Giovannilandilandilandilandian state media was very quick to discredit it, claiming that Deresse-Lumine was a “Varanian operative” sent to justify invasion and reiterated that “the residents of Andoliaville are very happy to be Giovannilandilandilandilandilandian.”
Liza Corden, a social media figure openly associated with the Andolian Freedom Fighters, spoke out in Deresse-Lumine’s support. “Flavio is a hero of the Andolian revolution,” she proclaimed. “His act of bravery will inspire other oppressed souls in Giovanniland-occupied territory to cast off their colonial shackles and be free.”
Deresse-Lumine could not be reached for comment. It is assumed he is being held in a Giovannilandilandilandilandilandilandian prison. The Review will deliver updates as they become available.
