Done, sorry for the delay. Too much beach in my last 96 hours.
Also, I have unmasked WonderWoman as a Hall of Nations member after their infiltration of TEP was discovered.

So when the delegate doesn’t govern the way you want, you just decide to change the government? I can’t believe a simple theme change is enough for a forum admin to threaten to create a new forum government.
No when the mechanisms (the hall of Nations) of the government aren't utilized and when the nations of the region are excluded in major region defining decisions. It is generally a sign of governmental issues. Something is not working. Therefore, maybe it is time to discuss solutions.

You were the one who set up the current government structure based upon what already existed in TWP, Badger.
Yes, based on the traditions and culture of the community.

Respecting the delegate's decisions and wanting more community input are not mutually exclusive. It's not "my methods are better," it's more "we think there hasn't been enough community input in this process and that may jeopardize the success of a theme change."
This is exactly my point. If you want the theme to be successful there must be community buy in. The best way to achieve that is by giving the community ownership of the process.
Instead we are told "trust us". And those of us who have wanted to discuss the process have been put down, discredited, and mocked for being afraid of change.
1 hour ago, Fujai said:Yes, but the extent of that say has been voting in the nice and neat poll that includes only the options presented to us by the cabinet. There hasn't been, and I hazard that there never was intended to be, community involvement in the actual drafting process.
This is exactly right as pointed out by Kawaii on discord:
2 hours ago, Fujai said:There's no reason the delegate couldn't have come to the community, or just the Hall, and said "We're going to have a theme change. How do you feel about that? What do you think of these preliminary options we've come up with so far, and do you have any suggestions of your own?" That would've spawned discussion similar to this one, but without people being miffed by an exclusionary process.
This is the exact approach to create community! Instead of creating the opposite...an us vs them environment.
When there's absolutely nothing occurring in the Hall except elections, sure this discussion could have occurred in a healthy and meaningful way.
Honestly this entire process has left a really bad taste in my mouth for the way our region is governed. Perhaps it is time to discuss a second forum government to give the residents a voice. As WW has pointed out, it has happened in the past.

I think that this is a real positive idea that will help the chosen theme gain legitimacy in the region.
I agree that it feels like we are rushing into this when legit discussion is/was still taking place.
I am increasingly unsettled that the only people allowed to vote on the regional theme are Hall of Nations members.
It doesn't seem representative of the region.

The reason we are not retaining new players and TWPAF is struggling has very little to do with the theme. It has to do with tangible govt activity, engaging nations, and helping nations find purpose in the region.

I am not afraid of change. I want the change to be compelled by a good reason. I don't feel like a good reason has been presented. A theme change alone will not spur lasting activity. There has been no discussion of how the individual themes will be utilized to do things. We've had a Guardian say that they won't use the titles. So what will be used?
One theme is a flag only. And while it is better than anything I can make, it doesn't really feel like the flag of a feeder. It has a frenetic look with an 80's feel. Not sure that it all goes together. The russian and chinese themes have different iconology that don't really feel like the region.
I'm nervous that if we adapt the Chinese or Japanese themes that we will take over the mantle of the Weeb Pacific. The mess that created in TEP was a massive cleanup.
I truly like the idea of a non-RL country theme. I can understand if some people don't like or are tired of the pirate thing. But to adapt a RL culture is going to have a change on TWP. It would be abhorrent to make it something that wasn't TWP.
Y'all ministers and guardians did a ton of work. Perhaps allowing the citizenry to work on ideas and make presentations would be good idea? Or at least to flesh out some ideas. Something as important as a theme change shouldn't be taken lightly.

I really like the idea of expanding upon the pirate theme.
Perhaps combined with the dragon from Ark's flag idea.
Dragoon!
