Nieubasria is a nation of nearly 28 million residents, located in the northwest heart of Polaris. Though not the most popular professional sport in Nieubasria, football (called soccer in Nieubasria) is enjoying a steadily increasing popularity due to recent high profile victories and celebrity interest. 
Basric Soccer Association
The Basric Soccer Association is a national sport organization whose mission is the organization and promotion of soccer in Nieubasria. To develop talented Nieubasric soccer players to achieve Esferiad and World Championship medal performances, BSA convenes amateur and semi-professional soccer leagues from which it chooses members of the National Team. BSA became a Convenorate in 1387 when the two remaining members under the previous federative structure merged under then Convenor Baron-Esquire Conrad Ellise.
A Convenorate is unitary organization structure under a single Convenor, usually the Patron, that serves as the figurehead. Convenorates will most often have a form of Board or Trusteeship which publishes bylaws and manages the hiring for the official posts of the organization, such as Manager of the National Teams.

The Common Trust for Generic Medicines (CTGM) was established by the Hier in 1372. At the time, there was a growing concern among the public about the high cost of prescription drugs and the lack of access to essential medicines for many people. The trade associations and non-juridical trade unions seized this as a critical issue affecting the health and well-being of their members and the wider population.
CTGM was created as a public corporation with the mandate to manufacture, distribute, and export affordable generic pharmaceuticals. The trust's founding principles were to ensure that essential medicines are accessible to everyone, regardless of their financial status, and to use its profits to fund research and development of new drugs that were not profitable for private companies.
CTGM's founding was not without controversy, as it faced fierce opposition from private pharmaceutical companies and their lobbyists, who argued that the trust would harm innovation and free-market competition. However, CTGM persevered and quickly gained support from the public, health professionals, and policymakers who recognized the urgent need for affordable medications.
Over the years, CTGM has grown and diversified its product line, including the development of generic versions of drugs used to treat common chronic diseases such as diabetes, hypertension, and asthma. CTGM has also invested in research and development of new drugs that target neglected diseases, such as tuberculosis and malaria, that disproportionately affect developing countries.
Since its founding, the CTGM has become a major player in the pharmaceutical industry in Nieubasria. It has established partnerships with healthcare providers, pharmacies, and distributors across the country to ensure that its products are widely available. The CTGM has also begun exporting its products to other countries, helping to make affordable medication more widely available throughout the world. Today, CTGM is a leading producer of affordable generic drugs in Nieubasria and a respected member of the international pharmaceutical industry. Its mission remains steadfast in ensuring that essential medicines are accessible to everyone and to use its profits to advance medical research and development.
The CTGM is governed by a board of directors appointed by the related trade associations that founded the corporation. The board is responsible for setting the strategic direction of the CTGM, ensuring that the corporation is financially sustainable, and overseeing its operations.
CTGM leads the Astorian Strategy on Generic Medicines and Biosimilars. This strategy coordinates the development of product lines to prevent duplication of efforts, advises on tariffs for the import and export of medicines from the Astorian Union, and promotes international cooperation on medicine manufacture.

Islom Silvestre: "Not only as a representative of the Social Growth Compact, but as an Alcheran citizen, I am appalled by the President's extension of the license of the Basric Common Trust for Generic Medicines. It is utterly unacceptable for this corporation, set up by the legislature of another country, to be allowed to come in and undercut our local pharmaceutical companies. This move not only hurts our economy, but it puts the livelihoods of many Alcherans at risk.
"The CTGM claims to be providing affordable generic medicines to those who need it, but at what cost? There are several pharmaceutical companies that have been providing essential medicines domestically for many years. These companies have invested heavily in research and development, however, since the CTGM entered the market, they have been undercutting these companies by selling generic versions of the same drugs at a fraction of the price.
"By driving local companies out of business, they are essentially monopolizing the market and have the potential to drive up prices in the future. This move not only harms our economy, but it undermines the principles of fair competition and equitable trade.
"It is understandable that the CTGM wants to provide affordable medication to those who need it, but it is important to do so in a way that does not harm local industries. Instead of simply undercutting their competitors, the CTGM should be working with local companies to find ways to reduce the cost of medication without putting them out of business. By doing so, they can help to build sustainable healthcare systems that benefit everyone.

State Dinner
Between: The Free State of Dalimbar, the Kingdom of Giovanniland, and the Holy Principality of Saint Mark

Markus Briand, the Marshal of Dalimbar, walks into his office at the Oborin Palace accompanied by his trusted assistant, Colonel Natalia Kuznetsova. They have just returned from a tour of the palace, checking the final preparations for the State Dinner, which will be attended by Prince Marcarius of Saint Mark and King Giovanni VI of Giovanniland, along with their entourages.
While no longer the residence of the Marshal, he maintains an office in one of the many ornate rooms of Oborin Palace. The walls are adorned with intricate gold leaf designs and priceless paintings, while the ceiling features a breathtaking fresco of a hunting scene. The room is illuminated by dozens of crystal chandeliers, which cast a warm glow over the elegant furnishings.
The Marshal takes a moment to gaze around the room, admiring the opulence of the palace. "Oborin Palace truly is a sight to behold" he remarks to Kuznetsova. "We are lucky that my predecessors built and maintained this. Col. Kuznetsova, how are the preparations for the State Dinner coming along?" Briand asks, taking a seat behind his desk.
Kuznetsova nods in agreement. "Sir, everything is going according to plan and we have spared no expense in preparing for this event. The kitchen staff is putting the finishing touches on the menu, which includes dishes from several districts of the Free State, and the floral arrangements have arrived and are being set up as we speak."
The Marshal smiles, knowing that Col. Kuznetsova's attention to detail is second to none. "Excellent work, Colonel. We have an opportunity here to showcase our hospitality to the world", the Marshal begins. "As a state often away from the rest, we must make the most of this occasion to strengthen our ties with these foreign powers, Saint Mark and Giovanniland."
Colonel Kuznetsova nods in agreement. "It is an exciting time for Dalimbar, sir," she says. "Hosting the Rugby World Cup, now a state dinner with two foreign powers. It has been a lot of work but our guests will be impressed and comfortable here in Oborin Palace."
Briand smiles. "Good work, Colonel. I know I can count on your attention to detail."
"Thank you, sir," Kuznetsova replies with a smile.
Markus walks over to the window, overlooking the grand gardens of the palace. "This event is crucial to our foreign relations. It is an opportunity for us to strengthen the ties between our countries and build new partnerships. Perhaps with things less tense with the Astorian Union bloc, we need to explore the rest of the world for opportunity and trade."
Colonel Kuznetsova chimes in, "Absolutely, sir. And we must ensure that our guests from Saint Mark and Giovanniland leave with nothing but positive impressions of our country."
Markus nods in agreement. "Precisely. We must show them the best of our traditions, culture, and cuisine."
As Colonel Kuznetsova leaves the room, Markus takes one last look out the window, taking a deep breath before turning back to his desk. With the preparations in the capable hands of his trusted assistant, he can rest easy knowing that the State Dinner will be a success and that the guests from Saint Mark and Giovanniland will be impressed with the hospitality of Dalimbar. Markus Briand remembers another crucial detail. "Oh, one more thing, Colonel. Don't forget to have the highlights of the Rugby World Cup playing on the televisions throughout the palace. We are hosting the tournament, after all."
"Of course, sir," Kuznetsova replies with a nod. "And congratulations on Dalimbar's victory yesterday. We have advanced to the Quarter Finals."

“Welcome back to Live from Garrison! I’m your host, Katina Lubov. On today’s segment, we’d like to go over what even is the “Rugby Rankings”. This product of the Department of Sports of our Free State has been so prevalent in not just this Rugby World Cup, but previous editions too! But how does it work, and who developed it?”

“For an analysis on the system that is Rugby Rankings, please welcome Dr. Maj. Victor Gorkin, Sports Statistician with the Department of Sports and Professor of Statistics at the University of Saint Andreisburg!”
[Audience applauds]
“Thank you for joining us here in Garrison Stadium, Dr. Maj. Gorkin.” says Katina.
“Please, call me Viktor!” the doctor-major playfully said.
“Now tell me, Viktor, how did the Rankings even start? It feels like we’ve had them forever in Dalimbari rugby at least!”
“Certainly, but before rugby became more professionalized in the mid-1340s, we never had the Rankings. At that time there were local leagues, particularly in the Starija, which incited passions. This is how many of our greatest teams, from Nadu Naval to Posadka to Fort Kaisah, came into being. The sailors of Nadu formed their team and competed locally, for example. Posadka was just a neighbourhood team for a while. Local champions of their leagues would come together and try to sort out who was the best in the Free State.
It wasn’t until the Union da Rugby formed which led to professionalization and the club scene of Dalimbari rugby. Teams which could afford talent and prospects would get it while those who couldn’t simply failed. That’s the way the Path lays for us.
However, as I’m sure you all know…” he winks at the audience. “... it’s popular to back winners! People bet on the sport! I know most of you might have put in a few Credits, especially if your home team was really onto something, am I right?” the audience laughs and it appears quite a few of them make gestures that they have indeed bet on the sport.
“My husband is in too deep! He keeps betting on Belosel and that hasn’t been a winning bet lately!” Katina says almost exasperatedly. 
“Oh, poor guy. And this is why the Department of Sport started to design Rugby Rankings for the Marshal’s Cup. It shows you how well teams are doing relative to one another in a way that may be hidden from just the score lines. 
For a hyper-competitive league like ours with 40 teams almost constantly going head to head, it’s easy to see that, say, Marinsky being at 79.48, has a better chance of winning versus your husband’s poor Belosel at 68.45 in a head to head. Doesn’t mean it’s impossible for Belosel to win! Remember that stomper they did against Nadu Naval last year?” some in the crowd groan while a few become a tad too enthusiastic in their clapping. 
“When it was announced that there would be a Rugby World Cup, we took it upon ourselves in DoS to try the same kind of Rankings but at the international level. Show how foreign teams are doing relative to one another. 
What the system wants to see is a fair fight between two teams. If you have say… our Boys in Blue face off against those weird Zoranians, who have regrettably won the last two Cups, the winner should get a big boost. What it doesn’t seem to like is when a super strong team goes up against a team which… how do I put this… could have used a few qualifier matches before joining the big leagues. These weaker teams certainly get experience just surviving say a “Big 4” team while the Rankings system is wondering how on Esferos they even left the pitch alive. So, if you’re following the Rankings, this is why despite a win on the pitch, the losing team may gain points.”
“Interesting point, Viktor! We don’t see this in the Marshal’s Cup, do we?”
“There was one match several years ago where Port Ain benefited from this because of just how down in the dumps they were at that point, facing off an almost impossibly hot Posadka, but nothing like what we’ve been seeing on the international stage. Perhaps if the foreign squads had more opportunity to play one another, and build each other up, we wouldn’t see as much impact.”

Jelena Bridge Competed
After years of construction and setbacks, the long-awaited cable-stayed bridge connecting the northeastern part of Teralyon to the southern part of the country has finally been completed. The bridge, which was overbudget and faced multiple challenges during its construction, is now open to traffic, providing a faster and more convenient way for travelers to move from one part of the country to another.
The Jelena bridge, which spans across the strait of Jelena, has been in the works for over a decade. BREAKING NEWS: Queen Atsil Responds to AU Pressure
Transcript of Speech from the Press Conference:
It has been brought to my attention that certain foreign actors are displeased with the recent arms deal with Kalmach. My response to this is simple, we will proceed as planned. 
While Nieubasria and the AU have our utmost respect and thanks for their assistance in rebuilding the Zoranian state, this witless response is disappointing, particularly from Nieubasria. Although the Zoranian-Astorian Union Provisional Working Group is invoked, I reiterate my representative’s statements that Zoran will not be confined in its economic recovery. We are protecting our national interest and avoiding reliance on foreign arms, this was made clear at that discussion. 
With the much-advanced ZF-1 Empyrean the Astorian Union has been content to facilitate the development of weapons platforms in Zoran. Yet when we demonstrate independent success with our entirely native ZF-2, an AU member seeks to belay us. The existence of a Zoranian arms industry is clearly not the issue. 
It must also be said that the deal with Kalmach has put Dalimbari interests at risk, which should be a perceived boon to the AU rather than a threat. Furthermore, we would like to exhibit the innumerable cases in which nations procures arms only to then go and use them. One example is the Cambrian sale of naval craft to Varanius only a couple years prior to near-conflict in the Darkesian sea. Is the seller of arms responsible with what is done with them or not? If you are unsure, I suggest you look to your own actions.
If they feared a Zoranian arms dealing banana republic, then the AU should revert to the logic that led them to support us against the Corporatists. My Government is dedicated to the stability and economic prosperity of the people of this nation and we are confident Zoran is already in a stronger state than it would have been under a crony capitalist kleptocracy. The corporates were bent on wholesale imperialistic conquest of neighboring countries in the Darkesian, which doubtless would have caused greater instability in more nations than a single transaction amounting to less than one third of a percent of Zoranian GDP. The war plans and the self-serving policies of the corporatists are open for all to see! 
Thus I ask the AU this, make a choice, are we friend or are we foe? We will not be treated as both and we will not tolerate double standards.

From the perspective of Nieubasria, the announcement of Zoran's entrance into the international military aviation market and the sale of fighter jets to Kalmach raises concerns about regional stability and the country's own strategic interests. The Kalmachian invasion of Garahun, cannot be ignored however and we will revisit this in our ongoing series Nurean "Cooperation". 
Nieubasria may feel pressure to take a stance on the issue, whether it be in support of its allies or in opposition to their actions. However, it is also possible that Nieubasria will maintain its neutral stance and continue to prioritize its own economic and political interests above taking sides in conflicts that do not directly threaten its security.
Regardless, Nieubasria's leadership will need to carefully consider the implications of its allies' actions and balance the potential benefits of involvement with the potential risks of being drawn into a larger conflict. It may also need to reassess its relationships with Zoran and other nations entering the international military market to ensure that their actions do not compromise Nieubasria's strategic interests.
 
 

 
Statement by the Estates-Ministry of Nieubasria regarding Zoranian Arms Deal with Kalmach
Nieubasria strongly condemns Zoran's decision to sell arms to Kalmach in the midst of their conflict in Garahun as the foundation from which it will rebuild its war-torn economy. It is unacceptable that Zoran would choose to fuel ethnic tension and further conflicts in Nur in order to bolster its own economy.
Nieubasria stands firm in its belief that the unchecked proliferation of arms only leads to greater violence and instability, and we will not stand by while Zoran continues to profit from this cycle of destruction. Therefore, the Sovereign Estates stands ready to impose strict sanctions on Zoran, including an arms embargo and freezing of assets of Zoranian companies involved in the arms trade.
Nieubasria calls on Zoran to immediately suspend all arms sales and to work towards building a sustainable and peaceful economy through means such as those promoted within the Zoranian-Astorian Union Provisional Working Group. Nieubasria stands ready to support Zoran in its efforts to rebuild, but we will not tolerate the destabilizing effects of a nation surviving solely on the perpetuation of violence around the world. As a nation with Tamaric values, we cannot support actions that only lead to further escalation and metastasization of local conflicts.
If Zoran does not commit to pausing arms sales and re-engage with the Astorian Union on state-building aid, the Estates-Ministry of The Prince's Peace has prepared the following sanctions to take effect: 
Seizure and ban on Zoranian defence-related imports, including materiel and manufacturing components, Suspension of defence-related exports to Zoran, including material, precursor chemicals and compounds, and manufacturing components,  Reinstating freeze on the assets of Zoranian arms manufacturers or related industries as designated by the Estates-Minister of the Overthere, and Freeze on any Basmarc- or Cambrian Crown-denominated transactions suspected to be related to the production, sale, or transportation of Zoranian arms or defence-related items processed by Basric financial institutions.  To support the case where sanctions must be employed, defence-related exports not approved as of April 10 will be held at ports of entry, Basmarc-denominated transactions of the DG Corporation (Dawisgali Gosdayi (Arrowhead) Corporation) and known affiliates in the production of ZF-2 Stormhawk platform will be temporarily frozen, and Basric nationals in Zoran are requested to report their presence in Zoran to their nearest Astorian Union embassy or consulate. 
The Sovereign Estates is assured that other nations will join us in taking strong action against Zoran to demonstrate that such behavior will not be tolerated in the international community. The Estates-Minister of The Prince's Peace states that expanded sanctions may be put in place at a later date.

While outside of any Dalimbari areas of interest, we are hopeful that operations remain confined to anti-piracy and does not develop mission creep, especially into any Dalimbari areas of interest.
We strongly denounce the sale of 69 fighter jets from the barely functioning Zoranian regime to Kalmach. While Stavka was starting to explore potential trade relations with Kalmach, they have made their intentions clear that they would rather have shoddy products from a backwards state than the tools needed to complete their agenda. We condemn both the Zoranian and Kalmachian regimes for their flagrant disrespect of the peace of sport. We further are encouraged by the statement released by Nieubasria regarding this situation.  
We would like to note that the repatriation of the criminal Nazer Ablaiev from the Kingdom of Cambria back to the Free State is complete. He has been sentenced of committing the crime of treason against the Free State and shall be incarcerated at a labour camp in District 15 and shall remain there for the rest of his existence. We thank Cambria for their cooperation on this matter.
