"I think it's kinda hard to come up with something game-play related, which everyone would find funny. You often need a bit of familiarity with either the region or situation in question to see what's amusing about it. Here goes though.

I liked the time the Pacific submitted an application to join ADN. It was just after Mammothistan became delegate. From what I remember he mostly did it on a whim, expecting a quick rejection. ADN didn't feel like playing along though, so started the application process, thinking that Mammothistan would quickly admit that his application wasn't serious. Having gotten caught up in a situation noone had actually thought through, neither side were willing to back down and lose face though. So we spent a month or so, posting cordial/snide replies back and forth, acting towards the rest of NS as if we all might actually be interested in seeing the Pacific become a part of ADN. What was really amusing though was the fact that the ADN leadership got to explain to the rest of ADN why having the NPO join ADN wouldn't be a total disaster, while the NPO senate found themselves having to pacify a bunch of irate district governors and Pacific citizens, who were pissed that Mammothistan had submitted the application without consulting them.

At that point in time the NPO and ADN really disliked and distrusted each other, but neither side were willing to back down, even though the application process was leading everyone closer to an outcome no-one actually wanted. It never did come to the NPO actually joining, but I think we reached the point of ADN getting the application vote going before someone decided to call it quits."

As you already know, we recently completed our first Autism Awareness Week and had previously collaborated with another region's DIABETES AWARENESS DAY.
In a vote for the region, the majority of voters considered this is a thing we should continue doing, as a manner of taking advantage of the thousands of persons we reach in the game.
I've created this thread to open a long term discussion and perhaps even to create a small committee that could work on researching and creating our future awareness day / week / weekend whatever.
There are some I'd like us to for sure (like October's International Breast Cancer Awareness, as well as November's Men Movember Awareness for Prostate Cancer. We don't NEED to do them monthly so we may still have 5 months before the two I'd like us to make sure we keep in sight.
I've sent a TG to all those who voted for the option about wishin to be involved with the planning, but ANYONE seing this is more than welcome to propose, comment and even offer their help

A couple of suggested corrections:
 
THE ISSUE, line 2 there should be an "s" for organisms.
 
Item 4: add "DNA" in front of the word "structure"
 
Item 5: Line 2, there is a comma instead of a full stop in the sentence.  
 
PS I prefer Hariko's title for the issue

Submitting a regional Daily Issue is a great idea but we need to ensure that it is ORIGINAL but, with over 480 already 'out there', this may be a difficult task  The other aspect is that it needs to be capable of having a high humour content.  For my money, would go for the 'Product Placement' one

Just a short note to say that the Index of Daily Issues is a bit behind with 20 new issues not yet posted.  I have placed the last 3 Issues, #474, #475 and #475, on the Nation States **SPOILER ALERT** thread as my most recent offering there    Checked back through the index postings and found that I had posted 13 as 'first reported' - didn't think it was that many

There seems to be a minor moderation jurisdiction error, according to 'The moderating team' page.
 
Elegarth, as Delegate, is supposed to have moderation powers over 38 forums, but he now has only 2 subforums; 'TWP News and Media Centre' and 'The West Pacifican'.
 
Vlagh, who has retired from all positions and should not have any mod powers, still possesses power over the Voice, the Judiciary, and the Constitutional Convention subforums.
 
I request these errors be fixed to ensure any unwanted tensions are prevented.

If NPS indeed participated as part of the DEN team, we may as well elevate the decision to our judiciary system, which is flexible enough to simply be called to act.
I do like to point out this attitude is troublesome, Malv:

If you have FACTs, then just show them and I'm sure the advocate can simply put this in the hands of our judiciary articles, without anyone throwing a tantrum...

Karaoke: suggest you ask Yy if he could write something about its history, the "rules", and embed one or two songs for every edition?
 
How about a series on "How did you become involved in NS" -starting with an interview of the Old Guard and then the New Guard?
 
What about a series done by the Polandball group with sketches/skits of TWP characters?
That's 3 different regular topics that should keep somebody busy for a while

Issue frequency is always a hard one to agree on.  I would suggest to start out that bi-monthly would be a good periodicity. Ideas are very often easy to come by for the first few issues but things tend to 'dry up' thereafter and undue pressure is brought to bear upon editors, writers, etc to produce good quality articles, and the staff has a tendency to become disillusioned, and leave.
 
As for content and structure, the Dass Nachrichten team did a great job for the single issue and maybe you should tap into their thoughts and add those to your own.  The overall format was good although there was a need for better proof reading of the BBcode because we had a few 'bloopers'
 
One thing that we must include, is pictures.  Our last publication, although it had good content and a good banner, lacked visual impact as it was all text.
