THE FEDERAL GOVERNMENT OF THE UNITED ADAIKES
The federal government of the United Adaikes is the national government of the United Adaikes, a federal republic located in northeast Polaris, composed of eight (8) regions (including one (1) self-governing territory, Marisalia).
The UAD federal government comprises three distinct, interdependent branches: executive, legislative, and judicial, whose powers are vested by the Sixth Constitution (1387) in the President, the House of Representatives, and the courts, with the Supreme Court as the highest judicial body. The powers and duties of these branches are further defined by acts of the House of Representatives, including the creation of executive departments and courts inferior to the Supreme Court.

Office of the Vice-President (OVP)
Vice President Mel GasparThe OVP is an administrative, advisory, consultative government agency that aids the Vice President in performing their duty as the second-highest executive official of the government of the United Adaikes.
For local governments, regions are governed by Governors, while Mayors govern cities. Governors and mayors are elected at the same time as the President. However, the President appoints the Governor for the national capital region Adaikes.
Legislative Branch
The legislative power is vested in the United Adaikes House of Representatives. The 32 representatives from each city and island region, including one (1) representation from the Marisalia territory, are elected two years after the Presidential elections for a four-year term with no term limits, serving until not re-elected, resigned, impeached and convicted, and death.
The current House Speaker is Kramnit-Ram Patneg, from the majority People's Democratic Party representing Ngadabrigg.
For the local governments, regions have Regional Congresses with one representative from each city district. For island regions, there are 20 at-large members for their Regional Congresses.
The cities have City Councils, electing three (3) councilors per district. Island regions do not have City Councils.
Judicial Branch
The judicial power is vested in the Supreme Court of the United Adaikes and lower courts established by law. The Supreme Court has a Chief Justice, elected from among the eight (8) Justices, coming from each Region selected by their Governor from 3 Regional Justices vetted by the Regional Congress. The previous number of Justices was seven (7), but with the inclusion of Marisalia as a self-governing territory, it became eight (8). The Supreme Court occupies the highest tier of the Judiciary.
The current Chief Justice is Rex Aucsap, from Wrarnerbadshot, Thraproy.

-Court of the OmbudsmanFor the local governments, the regions have Regional Trial Courts with 6 Regional Justices sitting en banc. There are also City Courts for cities, with a Presiding Judge sitting in each City Court. City Courts in a city should equal the number of its districts.

2215HLuke Salazar was thinking of a different name for this room. "War Room" seems so negative. But when he looked around the room, he gave up thinking about it.
Vice President Mel Gaspar is to his right, and to his left is the Red Palace Chief of Staff Jed Gill. To the left of Jed was Executive Assistant to the Red Palace Chief of Staff Gina Marvin, the Secretary of Foreign Affairs Anne Duncan, along with Foreign Affairs deputy secretaries and military liaisons. To the right of Mel was Secretary of Military Affairs Carlo Charlton and the United Adaikes Armed Forces Chief of Staff General Navoy O'Drall, the Commanding Generals of the Army and Air Force, and the Flag Officer-in-Command of the Navy.
"Are we good to go, sir?" Charlton asked the President.
"Anne, call the Sultan of Arifiyyah. Jed, call the President of Ryxtylopia. Admiral, call your counterpart from Teralyon. Gina, call Minister Klavan of Cambria. General, tell the people in Joint Base Auzarun to prepare," was all they heard from the President.
Operation Golden Cougar is about to commence.

2222H"Understood, General," Lieutenant General Leopoldo Horton responded to the phone call, "yes, our men are ready to materialize the plan."
"Yes, sir."
"Thank you, sir."
"You'll now be seeing on your screen what I currently see on my screen here in Auzarun."
In the lower left of the screen was the position of Teralyon navy ships docked near the largest island in East Mille-mer. Occupying the middle and lower right of the screen was satellite footage of Dilber, Arifiyyah, Ryxtylopia, and the land between Arifiyyah and Ryxtylopia.
"We will initiate Operation Golden Cougar exactly 60 minutes from now."

2235H"Give me updates, ladies and gentlemen," Salazar was getting edgy. He doesn't want to be left out of the loop, but what the President gets are as much as what he wants.
Vice-Admiral Linwood Barnett, the Flag Officer-in-Command of the Navy talked first, "The Teralyon ships are moving according to our plan, Mr. President."
"The Sultan doesn't want any aircraft in their airspace, or any ships in their territorial waters, or the first thing we get from them is the ashes of our people," Duncan continued.
"President Etsañó has ensured that Ryxtylopia is currently closing their borders in the south and southwest of Carraizal, Mr. President," Gill said.
"50 minutes, Mr. President," General O'Drall tells the room.
"The Cambrians are confident that everything will be according to plan, and they offer 'a stroke of luck' if we need it," Marvin shakes her head while reporting to the President.
"Tell the Joint Base we're all systems go in 20 minutes," the President commanded General O'Drall.

Vlogger imprisoned for slanderous remarks against the Secretary of Trade
Brendan Shelton, a famous vlogger from Adaikes, known for being vocal about his stance against Dalimbar and his isolationist views, was arrested by the National Police a day after releasing his latest vlog, mainly talking about the Secretary of Trade Felice Colbert and her presence in Dalimbar and the Rugby World Cup.
"Do you really think she's just "care-taking" the National Rugby Team in Dalimbar right now? No, ladies and gentlemen! She's looking for more friends like the Dalimbari friends she had.
"I mean, Luke could've sent someone else with the National Rugby Team. Why does it have to be the Secretary of Trade? We're rich enough; we can get by with our current resources in the country. But why are we selling it off? Are we reaching surplus numbers already in our production? Why is it not announced by the Agriculture and Trade Departments?
"You had obviously seen the clip from when she ate that lemon in that Dalimbari cafe. Even without audio, you can read her lips, 'tastes just like ours'. Don't bullshit me; those're clearly Mille-mer lemons! And why does Dalimbar have our lemons?! I haven't even heard about a trade agreement between the two countries!
"Madam Secretary, stop selling our stuff to everyone else! Who do you have in your contacts now, the Giovannilandians? The Nurans? Go back to the corporate world! You're not fit working for the government!"
The prosecution used all the above statements as bases for the imprisonment of Shelton, who is currently being held in the Gasple Police District Headquarters.

Breaking News: All but one fourth-level official in the United Adaikes Sports Commission sacked
With the news spreading wildfire about the recent allegations of corruption in the Commission and confirmed reports of Sports Commissioner Pouria Barr leaving the country, the Red Palace has issued a press release that they have sacked Barr and all but one deputy commissioner pending the results of the investigation.
National Sports Association (NSA) Affairs Office Head Ezra Moors, while still running NSA Affairs in the country, is currently the Officer-in-Charge of the Commission. Moor's fate is still unclear once the investigations are over.
The Department of Justice also stated that they had created a Task Force to investigate the allegations and that the country's well-known private sports management agency, the Adaikes Sports Group, is involved.
No other comments were given by all agencies mentioned in this breaking news.

"Call anyone from the Sports Commission, may it be Pouria's deputy or the parking attendant," the President's personal Red Palace secretary Diego Vernon received the instruction from Jed Gill, the Red Palace Chief of Staff.
Gill has been going in and out of the President's Office, and this has been the fifth instruction Vernon received from Gill.
Inside the President's Office...
"Tell me the National Police has found Pouria," President Luke Salazar asked Gill when he saw him enter the room again.
Gill shook his head.
"When things get better, I am always reminded that there are other problems in the country. I did not think this would happen on top of these cherry problems we're having," the President said.
"I thought Teralyon is accepting 1.5M tons of 'em from us?" the Vice President asked.
"We haven't heard anything from them yet, sir," Gill replied.
The next voice they heard was not the voice they were expecting to hear.
"Mr. President," the National Security Adviser Marian Proudfoot started, with everyone going silent, expecting bad news, "my agents have confirmed that Pouria has left the country."

Four months ago...
"Thank you for coming on short notice," Red Palace Chief of Staff Jed Gill started the meeting with selected Cabinet members. Vice President Mel Gaspar was in the room, including National Security Adviser Marian Proudfoot, Finance Secretary Nabeel David, Social Services Secretary Mae Kaiser, Trade Secretary Felice Colbert, Environmental Resources and Protection Secretary Hallie Sanderson, Public Works Secretary Monet Walter, Military Affairs Secretary Carlo Charlton, Press Secretary Vikki Boatwright, and Presidential Adviser on Legislative Affairs Sydnie Wright.
"And with the President's current desire to roam the country and have a town hall meeting with every city in the country every week, he has asked me to set up a cluster system for the executive department to serve as a venue and mechanism for coordination, harmonization, complementization, and synergy among the executive departments and other Government instrumentalities. The plan is to have clusters that can meet within themselves, streamline their functions, and improve existing procedures to achieve a more efficient and effective integration of programs, activities, and priorities.
"There will now only be six Cabinet clusters remaining going forward, the Participatory Governance cluster, the Infrastructure cluster, the Human Development and Poverty Reduction cluster, of which the Social Services cluster is subsumed in this new cluster, the Security, Justice, and Peace cluster, the Climate Change Adaptation and Mitigation and Disaster Risk Reduction cluster, and the Economic Development cluster.
"The Participatory Governance cluster will be led by the Office of the Vice President, with the Department of Finance as its Secretariat. It is created to exert all efforts to enhance citizen participation in governmental processes.
"The Infrastructure cluster will be led by the Department of Public Works, with the Federal Economic and Development Authority as its Secretariat. It is created to focus on infrastructure development for the realization of the 12-point Socio-Economic Agenda of the President.
"The Human Development and Poverty Reduction cluster will be led by the Department of Social Services, with the Department of Labor and Employment as its Secretariat. It is created to exert all efforts to improve the quality of life of the Adaikesians through a broad-based approach to the delivery of services.
"The Security, Justice, and Peace cluster will be led by the Department of Military Affairs, with the National Security Council as its Secretariat. They shall ensure the preservation of national sovereignty and the rule of law and focus on protecting and promoting human rights and pursuing a just, comprehensive, and lasting peace here and abroad.
"The Climate Change Adaptation and Mitigation and Disaster Risk Reduction cluster will be led by the Department of Environmental Resources and Protection, with the Department of Disaster Management as its Secretariat. They shall focus on conserving and protecting the environment and natural resources. They shall serve as a venue for discussing inter-related concerns on climate change and disaster risk management.
"The Economic Development cluster will be led by the Department of Trade, with the Federal Economic and Development Authority as its Secretariat. They shall focus on promoting rapid, inclusive, and sustained economic growth.
"The President also informed me that the National Security Adviser, the Press Secretary, the Communications Secretary, and the Presidential Adviser on Legislative Affairs should attend all meetings of all clusters, as well as the meetings of Cluster heads with the President.

Marvin chose a cable news network, with everyone surprised by what they saw on the screen.
"Breaking News: Corruption in the United Adaikes Sports Commission"
"Call Pouria," Gill was shaking his head, facing Marvin, but his voice was heard by everyone in the room, "make sure he's the one the President will be talking to after this meeting with the Chief Justice. Move all schedules accordingly."
Gill then faced the group at the table as soon as Marvin left, "I guess this meeting will be cut short unexpectedly."
Gill looked to his left, "Mr. Vice President, I hope you still have extra time to meet with the President about this recent conundrum of ours. I hope it's fine with you, too, Marian, Vikki," facing the Cabinet members.
