There are areas and threads where the issue does not happens, others it will.
The easiest approach is to write up your post, hit POST and then (if it doesn't goes through normally), wait 10 seconds and then RELOAD the thread. Most likely your post will be there

Figured it wasn't an obvious place for someone just seeing the problems to find it...so posted a link

I'm starting to think I might need to export the forum settings into a fresh install to get rid of these problems.... *sigh*

Objectively, yes, life is meaningless. You have to give it meaning though, and that's at least my purpose in life. It's never a boring place here, whether exploring the world around you or the internal life going on in your head.

That was oddly uplifting, I like your take on it, as opposed to 'Life is meaningless, we're nothing, all is lost etc.' which I get from so many others.

Perhaps we have to just yank the tooth out already. Let's hold a vote in the Voice to dissolve the Union and its bureaucracies. The former Offices of WA Affairs, Internal Affairs, and Foreign Affairs can go under the jurisdiction of the onsite government and the onsite government can inherit all of the paperwork of the Union.

Afterward, the onsite government can choose to keep the subforums on this site for their own use or ask Winni to delete them once the documents are moved over to the onsite.

A good amount of people feel there is no use for the forum government anymore. If the Advocate and Delegate will give me their approval, I'd like to start a thread for the vote so we can stop talking and start doing.

As for finding a replacement for the subforums for the government offices, I'd be more than happy to extend my help. I'd like to say I've gotten quite good at factbooks and BBCoding, so I'd be able to create factbooks that serve as directories and repositories for government documents. Using BBCode I've been able to simulate wikis, newspapers, websites, and text documents.

Then just enjoy what you can sense in front of you, because somehow, whether or not you are real, you can perceive, you are aware. You can experience the world around you, and are conscious. Even if you aren't real, you can do more than anything that would happen in a real universe devoid of life. Your existence is more meaningful than any real universe because the fact that you are conscious and self-aware gives meaning to a world that has none otherwise. The meaning of life and of the universe dies with the life that can experience it. After that, there is essentially nothing in a universe that is heat dead. It simply is.

Stand up and stretch your legs. Turn the computer off or put the phone down. Go outside and look around. Experience life, because a universe with meaning has a finite time left. The universe just wants to be observed while it still can be. Experience it to give meaning to the world. Do it for yourself. We will all die much sooner than we'd like to admit, and simply won't be. Contribute something before you have to return to the void.

Perhaps life is a dream of sorts. Enjoy it before you have to wake up.

I would of course argue that I have NEVER couped the onsite government, of The West Pacific. From my POV the Delegate is supreme and the person with the most endorsements is the rightful, Blessed By Max, leader of the onsite government.

But I HAVE couped the offsite government, witness this forum that my good friend Winnipeg created so we could have somewhere to go.

( BBD you may or may not quibble with my hair splitting if you wish.)

Now I propose that I re-coup the offsite government and now that I have I propose the following.

    A. I am in full support of our Delegate Elegarth.

    B. I am the Loudest Voice of Voices, and so I am now Eli VoV

    C. You may direct your fealty my way

On a more sane sense, we should do something humanitarian and supportive, such as the Paint It Blue thing we did for World Diabetes Day last November. We could revive the Awareness Weekends campaigns and make it a regular thing instead of an one-time event. Or we could always do weekly Marsupial Massacre Mondays in order to purge the Jen Gov. World of these malicious monstrous menaces.

Perhaps The Weird Pacific could do with a completely nonsensical holiday that is in no way related to anything, such as Saint Deflurgenbergtoaster Day where we honor the accomplishments of Saint Deflurgenbergtoaster.

Saint Deflurgenbergtoaster is known for how he triumphantly rid his birth country of Ktildismibinijimistan of snails and cabbages by pouring tons of salt on them (we do not mention how this led to a great deal of trouble for farmers whose cabbage fields were now completely unfarmable, and the subsequent salt-shortage, and increased cost of snails and cabbages nationwide). He also invented the Two Slice Deflurgenbergtoaster Oven, or Toaster for short. He also invented the process of toasting, before him bread and bagels were either eaten cold or thoroughly burnt (it should also be mentioned that any toaster with a capacity for more than two slices of anything are works of the Devil, who is also Saint Deflurgenbergtoaster's evil twin). Seeing the famine and economic strife that his homeland suffered from (which were in no way a direct result of his own actions), Saint Deflurgenberg Toaster gave all of the profits from his Toaster back to his community, effectively ending homelessness and bringing about world peace for about 30 minutes. However, all the prophets from his Toaster led to a great deal of confusing and conflicting prophecies that the monks of Ktildisimibinijimistan are still trying to properly understand to this day. Saintdeflurgenbergtoaster tragically died in the middle of an outdoor karaoke party when he was ambushed and devoured by a pack of rabid snakes.

The proper actions for observing Saint Deflurgenbergtoaster Day (April 16th), otherwise known as The Feast of Saint Deflurgenbergtoaster as it takes place on the anniversary of this one time that Saint Deflurgenbergtoaster ate an entire jar of pickles in one sitting, are as follows:

    - Eating toasted foods or otherwise using a two slice toaster.

-Admonishing those who use/own a toaster with a capacity for greater than two slices of bread.

-Pouring vast quantities of salt on things we dislike

    -Giving alms to the poor

-Channeling the spiritual energy of toasters to create more prophecies to keep the monks of Ktildisimibinijimistan employed

-The especially devout may also honor Saint Deflurgenbergtoaster by commiting ritual suicide by sacrificing themselves to snakes.

This is just a rough idea though.

I've still got the issue with most forums. The spam one's did the same for me just now, haven't tried the others.

Edit: But not this forum - it did fix it!
Edit 2: The liking was still slow for liking your above post.

    Test?

    HOLY CRAP, I FIXED IT!

Seems it's not the Posts, or even the Topics, that were at fault, but something in the Forum itself...  By Creating a new forum and moving all the topics to it, it fixed it...for that Forum.

So I need people to let me know of Forums that are having the problem, and then I will re-create the forums in question.

*sigh* still no idea why it's doing what it's doing...but I've verified it's not a problem with the Javascript, or Ad-Blocker...  The AJAX Query sends the request for the new post, but the server never replies to say "done" so the Javascript just keeps turning and turning...

So, as you may or may not have noticed, I haven't really been around the past month or two.  I'm going through a rough patch over in RL, and I'm just having trouble dealing with it.  I just have a lot of stress and badness in my life right now, but don't worry, I'll be around occasionally, not enough to actually do much, though.  I'll be be back completely sometime around February after the semester ends.  Thanks.

I think having a 'recognised Chief Executive' that is not the Delegate in any situation simply perpetuates the current problem. I support leaving the concepts of 'rebellion' to game mechanics and not as part of the offsite government.

    The night before Christmas(TWP style)
Twas the night before Christmas, when all through the region,
Not a nation was posting, cause they were all sleepin'!
The preferences all set to vacation mode with care,
In hopes that St Delegarth soon would be there.
The newbs were nestled all snug in their beds,
While visions of endorsements danced in their heads.
And mamma in her slippers, and a cat in my lap,
Had just settled down for a long movie recap.
When out on the lawn there arose such a clatter,
I sprang from the bed to see what was the matter.
Away to the window I flew like a flash,
Tore open the shutters and threw up the sash.
The moon on the breast of the new-fallen snow
Gave the lustre of mid-day to objects below.
When, what to my wondering eyes should show,
But a miniature sleigh, and five tiny RO's.
With a little old driver, so lively and swarth,
I knew in a moment it must be St Delegarth!
More rapid than eagles his coursers they came,
And he whistled, and shouted, and called them by name!
"Now PD!, now Yy,!, now Badger and Medio!
On Bhang Bhang! On all you, we got to go!
To the top of the porch! to the top of the wall!
Now dash away! Dash away! Dash away all!"
As dry leaves that before the wild hurricane fly,
When they meet with an obstacle, mount to the sky.
So up to the house-top the coursers they flew,
With the sleigh full of endos, and St Delegarth too.
And then, in a twinkling, I heard, just out of view,
The prancing and pawing of each little shoe.
As I drew in my head, and was turning around,
Down the chimney St Delegarth came with a bound.
He was dressed all in fur, from his head to his foot,
And his clothes were all tarnished with ashes and soot.
A bundle of endos he had flung on his back,
And he looked like a peddler, just opening his pack.
His eyes-how they twinkled! his dimples how merry!
His cheeks were like roses, his nose like a cherry!
His droll little mouth was drawn up like a bow,
And the beard of his chin was as white as the snow.
The stump of a pipe he held tight in his teeth,
And the smoke it encircled his head like a wreath.
He had a broad face and a little round belly,
That shook when he laughed, like a bowlful of jelly!
He was chubby and plump, a right jolly old elf,
And I laughed when I saw him, in spite of myself!
A wink of his eye and a twist of his head,
Soon gave me to know I had nothing to dread.
He spoke not a word, but went straight to his work,
And sent all endorsements, then turned with a jerk.
And laying his finger aside of his nose,
And giving a nod, up the chimney he rose!
He sprang to his sleigh, to his team gave a whistle,
And away they all flew like the down of a thistle.
But I heard him exclaim, ‘ere he drove out of sight,
"Happy Christmas to all, and to all a good-night!"
