The Kalmachian Government
Prime Minister Willsen Hessen is seen in an office, with a big Kalmachian flag in the background.
"As the war keeps drawing on, we feel that we need to publish a statement about what is currently happening in Kalmach and in Garahun. Many have expressed concern about the invasion, and what it entailed, as we had remained secretive about the plan up until its execution. We will clear some stuff up."
The prime minister shuffles in his papers a bit.
"We did not launch this war in order to make land grabs but believe that the Garahunnic government is incapable of properly protecting its citizens. The execution of peaceful protesters in Southern Hallessekratamia is proof enough of this. Before the invasion, we even tried to give a secret ultimatum, however, the Garahunnic did not listen. We never received an answer from any official representing Garahun, so we decided to launch the invasion.
After the second Kalmachian civil war, they forced Kalmachians out of their cities in order to put in their own Garahunnic peoples and replace them. The ultimatum of 1345 was a blatant attempt by Garahun to expand their empire. Taking advantage of a weakened Kalmach during it's infighting is the worst of the worst one can do.
Some have shown concern about the potential for human rights violations in the war. We will ensure that doesn't happen. We promise the protection of every single ethnicity in the area we occupy, in contrast to the Garahunnic. From the Oodwanese to the Garahunnic, we will treat them all the same as citizens of Kalmach. We also want to announce that we have no intention of controlling any ethnically garahunnic land. The eastern push was simply something that was needed in order to maintain the frontline. It was purely strategic, and we have no plans to advance in the east. However, we will continue to do whatever is necessary in order to protect the Kratans and the Oodwanese in the south.
We wish for peace, but we also wish for change. Therefore, The United Nations of Kalmach has demands. The Garahunnic has 2 options. One is to help us set up an independent state in the areas compromising the ethnically Kalmash and Oodwanese areas, with minor territorial concessions in Southern Hallessekratamia. Another is to let Kalmach have complete control over the ethnically Kratan areas of Garahun. We have had enough of the barbaric oppression of all the ethnic groups of the Garahunnic Prince-Bishophric."

This thread is an info-dumb on the war that's currently going on in northern Nur and a place where any person can ask questions about it!
General overview
The Kalmachian-Garahunnic war started in 1420 and was the result of the suppression of Kalmachian resistance fighters, and the execution of Kalmachian resistance organizers. Kalmach tried to set up an independent state in the ethnically Kalmash parts of Garahun. They wanted to support resistance members in the ethnically Kalmachian territories, and have them declare an independent state. This state would eventually vote to re-join Kalmach as an official union state.
(I accidentally spelled Garahun wrong lol)
After the executions, Kalmach had to basically give up on the thought of setting up a puppet state, but suddenly they had the excuse to launch a full-scale invasion and thus rushed with preparations. On April 14th of 1420, the Kalmachian government announced that they would be pacifying Garahun, and liberating the oppressed Kalmachians of Garahun. As of April 1423, the situation looks like this.

tl;dr points:
- Garahun oppressed the ethnic Kalmachians living in their country
- Kalmach never had any goals of conquering ethnically Garahunnic lands.
- Kalmach did not give a public ultimatum before launching the invasion, however, they did announce they would do it before the actual invasion. They did try and send one privately to Garahun, but met no answer.
- Kalmach does not wish to advance any further east as they believe it to be against their interest and goals
- Kalmach only captured Ilragon (A mostly Garahunnic city) because it was important strategically.
- Kalmach has not yet occupied all ethnic Kalmash lands.
- Both sides are likely to take heavy casualties in the event the war continues much longer.
- Kalmach refuses any peace talks that do not involve either an independent buffer state of ethnic Kalmachians, or the complete annexation of the ethnically Kalmash lands into Kalmach itself.

With the Southern Hallessekratamian war raging on, the brave soldiers of the Kalmachian army fight on the Garahunnic front lines. With a stalemate on the eastern front, the Kalmachian government looked outwards for any possible means of turning the tides, and to the surprise of Kalmach, Zoran answered.
Very recently, the Kalmachian government passed a bill allowing the military a wider budget range until the war is over, effectively doubling their budget for purchases, maintenance, wages, etc. This resulted in the outwards look for opportunities of military purchases, of either aircraft, sea fleets, tanks or infantry equipment.
A 2 billion dollar deal (7,4 billion kkr) was made with Zoran for the purchase of 69 ZF-2 Stormhawks to help with the aerial war being fought for control of the skies in Garahun. It is expected that the planes will be ready for combat in approximately 25 months, with the aircraft needing to be made and modified to fit the tropical Kalmachian climate. May this be a big leap towards pacifying the Garahunnic threat once and for all.
In a private Dalimbari hotel lobby
"Guys" Ingemann begun, "That was one hell of a letdown. I don't think we've performed worse ever, and against Ryxtolopia no less!"
"Of course it was, you expect us to perform well? It's been too long since we took you-know-what, the side effects were bound to show at some point" Fedmand said, as he but his hands in his face. "We can't keep on continuing this, and you know it. I know we were doing well at the start, but... I don't know how much longer I can take this."
"I agree with Fedmand" Schven said, "We gotta stop taking it. If we gotta have a choice, at least let us decide ourselves how we'll lose."
"I decide what we do. You guys' careers are on the line, we continue doing what we must. The next dose will be supplied in your rooms. I better start seeing better results."
Ingemann walks out of the room, before any rebuttals could be made.

"...Ladies and gentlemen, here we have them. The glory of rugby all over Kalmach, the Easthaven Crosses!"
Loud cheers are heard from the large croud, as the slightly pale players of the Easthaven Crosses walk down the red carpet laid down for them. Slowly stepping down, as to get as many shots from the news photographers as possible, they make their way towards the private terminal Y7 of the Interstate Easthaven Airport. A slightly flustered boarding attendant checks them in, and they head towards the shuttle that'll take them to their private jet up the runway.
With the silence being too much to bear, Tristen speaks up:
"You guys excited?" He tries waiting for a response, but to no avail. "I think we got a solid chance at this, don't you think. It's not like the Dilberi are known for their rugby skills."
"Neither are we" Fedmand utters quietly. "And that's why we gotta take that stupid stu-"
"Cut it out." Ingemann inturrupts. "We did what we had to. Now quiet. We're at the place."
The crew steps out, and into the plane that'll take them across the world. "Pretty large for a private jet, but that's what you get when you're the team sponsored by the state." Tristen mutters. The interior has a light tone, with a tv and couches of the highest grade. One can see how much comfort was prioritized when designing this plane.
As the plane takes off, Tristen gets a good look of Easthaven in all it's glory. As he grew up in rural Skaien, he had never seen such a large city of such magnificent proportion. Lucky encounters and connections got him this far, and he felt a tingle of pride for himself. Though, that tingle did eventually turn into this twisting feeling of anxiety in his stomach, when he realised the situation at hand. Both the anxiety of the match and if they were... going to get caught, was getting on his nerves. He brushed it off, and went to sleep, trying to get through the 17 hour flight.

"Alright guys, let's face it. We don't have a flying f#!?s chance of winning this tournament, so i don't have much to say. We've been almost completely out of the game for years now, pulling off even a single win is gonna be difficult here. "
Groans is heard from the short audience, followed by a member speaking his mind.
"Can't we at least have a little bit of optimism. I know we're the underdog, but still I-"
"Just stop. You're right, optimism is good. Being overly confident is better than being overly cautious. But let's not try and sugarcoat it, we're not gonna win. But we can do something to maybe increase our odds."
Ingemann pulls out a stack of paper.
"This is our plan. I will hear no excuses. This is necessary to beat Dilber, you're all too light to compete as it is now"
As the coach hands out the papers to the team, the audience starts mumbling to themselves and eachother. The blindside flanker, Påsko Jukaf tries to speak his mind.
"Coach, this is absurd! The notice is too short, this will destroy our muscles before the matc-"
"I said. There will be no excuses. Dismissed. You are to start immediately."

Kalmach now officially a participant of the 1423 United Adaikes Badminton Invitational. How does the predictions look, and who will be representing Kalmach?
After recent news of the Kalmachian participation in the UABI, the best of the best kalmachian badminton players from the UKBL have announced their willingness to go head first into the competition. From the deserts of Arnssted, all the way to Norddihaven, thousands have competed in the qualification matches, with rising stars showing up left and right. So who exactly will be competing for Kalmach in this international sports event? We'll be discussing that, and revealing it at the end of the article, so make sure to stick around!
The potential players of the UABI have a lot of competition within the UKBL, with former KBC winners such as the best Kalmachian female player in history, Krista Poulsson of Easthaven, and the three-time champion of Sefto Poisson also competing this year. Promising rising stars within the UKBL, who just reached the top 10 include Karlssen Rhiness, Utoniv Hikaras and Utonscht Persikschti. All of them competing for the chance to represent Kalmach in this important international badminton event. Although, popular names such as Utoniv Hikaras and Kinschten Teftsson have puplically announced their unwillingness to participate in the event due to the recent scandal involving the ICP president, Phaschishti Paschtasche. The excitement is real, as the results just came in from the UKBL administration.

Fauthur - 9.1
Being a former member of the Empire, and having recently changed in favor of a more democratic and modern government, Fauthur has good relations with Kalmach. However, these have soured after the invasion of Garahun.
Sekiya - 9.2
For a long time, Sekiya disliked Kalmach for preventing their expansion conquest in southern Nur in the Great Nuran War. However, their relationship has recently improved after volunteers from Sekiya arrived on the Garahunnic front to fight for Kalmach. It may seem like indirect support for the Kalmachian cause.
Ostronia - 9.3
A former colony, Ostronia is still quite under the thumb of Kalmach. Kalmach, having both a military presence and an ethnic minority in the country, is essentially controlling Ostronian affairs behind the scenes. Therefore, relations are very strong between the countries. Ostronia also lets Kalmachian planes and ships refuel and repair in their ports, even with the military base located in Tristhavn.
Norton Mast - 9.4
A former part of the empire, however, relations are unclear as we've yet to figure out exactly how much the Noton-Mastian peoples liked the Kalmachian presence in the country.
Ionia - 9.5
Being a very resistant colony, the only reason that these two countries still hold some sort of positive relationship is because of the defense and support that Kalmach provided during the Great Nuran war.
Giovanniland - 9.6
Giovanni relations with Kalmach have been unstable ever since the violet slaughter of 1049, however, relations have bettered since the civil war of 1345. The government's chance away from the imperial faction helped relations for the better since the new, more liberal government is focused on bettering relations and trade with all nations of Esforos.
Garahun - 9.7
Garahunnic relations with Kalmach have been rough throughout history. The main reason for the tension is the issue of their borders. Both claim lands that the other claim, so peace was never an option. The ethnic groups of the area of their border is seen below.
As a result of these tensions, multiple wars have been fought. However the most notable events are the following
- The South Hallessekratamian war (1420-present)
- The demand for South Hallessekratamia (1345)
Let us start with the demand for South Hallessekratamia. This was an event that happened because of a rash decision made by the Garahunnic government. They decided to take advantage of the second Kalmachian civil war and demanded a large territory from them in the southeast of their country. They threatened an all-out invasion if this demand was not met. As the Anti-Imperialist government did not want to fight a war on two fronts, they decided to hand over the territory, although reluctantly.
This landgrab by Garahun eventually made way for the South Hallessekratamian war. This was a war where Kalmach cited intentions of anti-opression and liberation. As of 1423, the front looks like this:
Originally, Kalmach's plan was to set up a puppet-state in the area by funding resistance groups in the area, however this failed after Garahun executed multiple resistance leaders of the area.

The United Kalmachian Badminton League (UKBL for short)
The UKBL is an organisation founded in Henessa on the 27th of april, 1367. It was a formal state-sponsored union of different badminton teams of the states of Norddistaten, Henessa, Easthaven (Gr. Easthaven included) and Hallessekratamia.
The best players of the badminton leagues are by far birthed in Norddistaten. Even with the small population, the best players of Kalmach history are birthed in this state.

The Kalmachian language, or Kalmash is a language very similar to danish with a small hint of slavic.
Religion - 8.3
The official state religion of Kalmach is Yellowism, where around ~96% of the population follows it. They dislike the violotists, as they believe the religion to have relations to the evil god, Lillja.
Here is what is known about Yellowism:
Before the concept of time even existed, the higher being known only as “Gúl '' descended upon earth. Earth, being an empty wasteland at the time, was incredibly barren and colorless. Gúl took it upon himself to create the sky, the earth and the intern. After which he made three beings who would govern the world. “Plå” would govern the sky and the sea, “Drôn” would govern the land and “Líllja” would govern the intern. Here, it had the gift of infinite freedom of creativity, as long as it promised not to create life.
Living in harmony for millions of years, Plå and Drôn would make fantastical creatures known as the Pingsvines. However, Lillja was not able to create life. As generous as the all-knowing lord himself is, Gúl went too far with the power it granted Lillja. Being jealous of the gods on the outside, Lillja decided to destroy everything the other gods worked hard for, introducing elements such as death, natural disasters and worst of all, sin. It killed every single one of the Pingsvines, who had been roaming the earth peacefully for millions of years. Gúl, and the other gods, decided to discuss what to do with Lillja for a whole millenia, before finally deciding to banish Lillja to a life of infinite darkness, to make it repent for its actions. The one place Lillja felt at home, the Intern, was turned into a sea of black, with nothing to be seen in any direction.

Elections - 7.1
The elections of the UNK take place every 4 years. Next election is in 1424. A political party can serve as long as the people vote for it, but a single person cannot sit in the head of office for more than 3 terms, in an effort to avoid rampant corruption in the country. The current Prime Minister, Willsen Hessen has been sitting in the PM seat for 2 terms. Next will be his last, if he can win yet another election.
Each election has 3 phases. Phase 1 is where each union member count up their votes. These votes are then
At each election, a party must at the end of a 1 month period after the vote tally has been counted, hold at least 50% of the votes. Parties are allowed to cooperate with each other in order to get a 50%> vote size.
There are 199 seats in the parliment, so that each party cannot maintain an exact 50% vote share.

On January 7th, the UNK together with other countries all over the Nuran continent, signed the first legislation from the newly established NCC. Diplomats met in West Fauthur to sign a legislation unifying Nuran liscence plates, making free international travel via automobile possible. The diplomats that met and signed the legislation include, but are not limited to: The Repuplic of Sekiya, The Directorial Republic of Rivalfiume, The Infinite Empire of Aukera, The United Republics of Fauthur, and of course, The United Nations of Kalmach. Under you will find the liscence plate design agreed upon by the Kalmachian states via unanomous vote.

Historical Events of Kalmach (964 BF-present) - 4.1
The Lost Days of Easthaven (964 BF-346) - 4.1.1
Known Information
Not much of this era is known by historians, as first-hand sources are very few. However, sacred texts mentioning Easthaven can be traced back to 892 BF mentioning Easthaven as a small city-state. Kalmash had changed massively since then, so translators are hard at work translating ancient texts.

As Hallessekratamian and Easthaven's interests collided, both seeing Aukeran Empire as a threat, they decided that a union would be most ideal.
As Easthaven and Hallessekratamia unite as one single political entity under the single monarch of Pekte I, there was the question of the name that this new union would take. They decided to make a new royal lineage, and name the union after this family. It was decided that this family was not strictly bound by blood and that adoptions would be a suitable resolution in the event of a sterile monarch. Henceforth, Pekte I would be known as Pekte Kalmach I, and the United Kingdom of Kalmach was officially founded.
The Violet Slaughter - 1049
April 4th, 1049 marks the day that the imperial government chose to commit one of the worst genocides in Kalmachian history. Having experienced massive migration from Giovonniland because of recent territorial success, and supposed freedom of religion, the newly formed UKK found itself divided, with the main religion, Yellowism, hating the newly-arrived Violetists. As such, a secret plan to get rid of them was formed by the nobles of Easthaven.
Over 8 days, approximately 13 thousand Violotist civilians were hung/executed by firing squad in masses. This would come to be known in modern times as "The Violet Slaughter"
Giovonniland, the nation to which most of these citizens had a genetic heritage, had an immediate reaction, immediately cutting all ties and sanctioning the UKK from all Giovannilandian trade. Giovannilandian relations have since improved after the government change as a result of the Kalmachian civil war in 1345.
Surviving violitists fled to modern-day Fauthur for a haven.
The Diplomatic Annexation of Arnssted - 1086
With the long grueling guerilla-warfare war of Arnssted, both sides found it most beneficial to sort out the war peacefully. Arnssted agreed to join the union, only if they were given official statehood. The only other member with official statehood at the time was Hallessekratamia.
First Colonial Expansion Era (1104-1163) - 4.1.4
Kalmachian Integration Attempt - 1105
In a period of 3 years from 1105 to 1108, the government in Easthaven started the process of integrating the member states of the UKK. Though the integration of the government was successful, a short integration like that was doomed to be ineffective. This is the event that is told to be the prelude to the first and second Kalmachian Civil War.

Second Kalmachian Civil War - 1345
April 1345 marks the day that the Anti-imperialists rose against the Empire. Their primary goal was de-colonizing and granting freedom to the colonies. The Imperial faction capitulates in June of 1347.
At the start of the war, the imperial family was kidnapped by the anti-imperialists, and executed, thus bringing an end to the Kalmach bloodline.
Through two excruciating years, the imperial government did its best but was nonetheless surrounded by all sides. The fight was decided from the start. The imperialist plan was to capitulate Arnssted and Henessa. After, they wanted to split the remaining forces into smaller groups and then follow up by encircling and crushing them. All major generals and strategists of Kalmach had gone to the anti-imperial faction, so the plan went less than ideal.
After squashing Arnssted and painfully trenching through Henessa, the imperialist government decided to try and do what is mentioned above. This fails, and Hallessekratamia and the combined forces of Skaia and Norddistaten successfully capture key cities of Busakria, Samholdssted, Gránssted, and the capital of Easthaven. The Imperial faction surrenders and the civil war ends. The state of Fauthur decided to declare independence after realizing that the empire was doomed to fail, as they were hardline imperialists at the time.
As a result of the second civil war, Hennessa, Skaia, and Norddistaten were granted statehood. Hallessekratamia and Arnssted had their statehood reinstated, and voting power was divided among population in the states.

The goverment in Easthaven is currently having issues with civil unrest in the capital of Hennessa. Independance movements and riots are mildly frequent, and are crushed through force, but not lethal. Casualties have not reached the hundreds, but multiple protesters have forced the hands of police operating in the region.
The demands of the protesters are for now, only the districts of 326, 305 and 334 to be annexed into Hennessa. Negotiations are currently underway.

Kalmach, or the UNK is a pretty big nation of 2.202.723 square kilometers (850.475 square miles) in northern mainland Nur. It borders the countries of Garrahun and Campa Simpatica and has maritime borders with Aukera. Being the biggest country in Nur in terms of military and size, it is undoubtedly a major player in Nuran or even world politics. It is also the second most populous nation in Nur.

UNK OFFICIALLY PART OF NEWLY ESTABLISHED NCC. WHAT COULD THIS MEAN FOR THE FUTURE OF KALMACH'S AUTOMOBILE INDUSTRY?
Recent news involving the signatory by Asir founder and vice-president William Peisson, of a resolution to make standerdised Nuran numberplates, has been going around, and the automobile industry is scrambling to know what reprecussions this will have for the booming car economy of the UNK.
The Willsen Hessen administration has, after a long period of discussion, decided to set a deadline of March 1st for the final liscence plate design of each region. After this, car manufactures will have a period of 2 months to set up production of the new liscence plates. NCC liscence plates are mandatory by July of 1423. Additionally, a tax of 2% of the total car cost after external taxes will be introduced following this period. To change your previous liscence plate, to that of the all-new NCC ones, you will have to pay a flat fee of 5.000 kkr to the goverment. Additional fees may apply depending on the approved manufactorer handling your plate. Approved manufacturers confirmed are currently Asir, Hemlaf and Ordin. Additional manufacturers may be announced in the near future.
While a general design for the all-new Kalmachian numberplate has been drafted, regional variations, and minor changes will be previlant in the next couple of months. This design features the same-old Kalmachian standard layout for letters and numbers, but with the left side of the liscence plate being covered in a red square, featuring the Kalmachian 3 letter code, together with the letters "NUR".

You might be wondering when these changes will take place?
The effective change of these numberplates will happen july of 1423. Additionally, after a interim period of 5 years, a red-tagged plate shall be required for foreign travel. Perks of this change include free auto travel between NCC member countries, so no longer will you have to pull up your UNK passport to go to your weekend vacation in Fauther!
While more information is still being drafted, this is believed to be a massive development in the foreign relations of Nur.

The threat of war has been on their doorstep for long, and because of that they have started to heavily invest in military, with over 16% of their gdp being dedicated to that alone. They believe in extreme capitalism, and have developed a frightingly effecient economy because of this.
