Ani'-Wah' met with Mehmed by the limos and Ani'-Wah' said,
"Welcome to the Heart of the Spirit my friend. While I understand that you do not believe in the same god as we do, but it pleases me to see you so willing to at least admire the architecture and the craftsmanship of our ancestors."
The Sultan nodded and smiled at Ani'-Wah'. The President then continued,
"We shall be touring the top section of the temple. It is the major religious center of the temple and considered to be the most sacred part of the temple and it is where the Statue of Woya is located."
The Sultan then turned to his bodyguard and whispered orders to him in Lanorthan, which the President understood but saw no need to listen in. The bodyguards nodded with reluctance and they returned to the limos. The Sultan then motioned towards the temple so they proceeded forward. On their way there, the president decided to introduce Adsila to the Sultan,
"My friend, let me introduce you to my intern and daughter Adsila. A student at the Platypus Island University. She shall be accompanying us today and I hope you do not mind that she does."
The Sultan gave a nod and a smile to Adsila as they reached the site.
"I know that your people do not particularly like other religions due to faith in your own, but the tolerance you are showing in being willing to see the temple is admirable."
They proceeded to climb up the steps, Ani'-Wah' had some difficultly climbing up the long stair case but Adsila supported her father with a smile on her face and the old man was grateful that the Sultan slowed his pace to match his own.
While most of the world may look at the young Sultan as a tyrant, I know he is simply misunderstood. He is a kind man at heart that has simply experienced pain in his childhood. I only wish that whoever succeeds me in my position as President will learn what I already knew about the Sultan.
The old man thought to himself as they made their way to the top of the temple. They passed through the ancient marble archway and entered the religious center of the temple. The room was vast and made of gray stone that had stiacciatos carved into the walls depicting the arrival of the first Zoranians to Zoran and other events from the Zoracon. There were pews and prayer mats throughout the room but at the opposite side of the room from the entrance was a large marble altar with ancient Zoranian inscriptions that were carved into the altar. There was a large gold chandelier that was added in the thirteenth century that hung above and on the same ceiling was a mural depicting the Divine Shaman Adanvdo the Spirit Chosen kneeling before a large ball of light as he wrote the secrets of the universe on a piece of paper. But the one that was central to the temple was the Statue of Woya that stood in the very center of the room with a shallow pool of water around it that is caused from the stream of water that gently rolls down the statues face and comes from the eyes as tears. This statue has been tested dated by researchers to have been created centuries ago anywhere from 8960 BF to 8950 BF and is a marvel to them as the smoothness of the stone and how human-like it looked for something to have been created in that era. The statue is of a woman kneeling with her arms open but close to her side and looking towards to the ground in sorrow with tears streaming down her face.
The three of them admired the statue together for a while before they began to move on to looking at the altar and the other parts of the room.for about half an hour before leaving.
As they walked down the steps, the old man said to the Sultan,
"Next on our places to visit is the site of the Battle of the Covenant, ever since that battle Zoranians have kept it the same condition as it was when the battle ended and maintained it very well. There is a memorial there for the 600,000 men that died in the Great Spirit War in defense of the faith against heretics. Just to let you know ahead of time, it is expected for people who visit there to remove their shoes and any outwear such as jackets, coats, etc. before they even set foot upon the grounds. It is also expected for people not to carry weapons or wear any sort of armor there as it is a belief amongst Zoranians that the spirits of the men who died there still wander and wish to not see anything that reminds them of conflict as they wish to live their life there in peace. Of course this is nothing more than a form of respect to the deceased, it isn't a law as there are few in Zoran."

ELECTIONS
The first General elections will be held in Saronistan on 15 July 2020. 700 members of the Parliament, 39 Presidents of the regions and the General Secretary  will be elected .
Three political forces will be allowed to participate: The National Party of Progressives, The national Party of Moderates and The National Party of Conservatives.
Elections will be held every four years throughout the country. The voting age is 18 years.

Agent 2578349987 reporting from the bunker at  35°24'15"S, 17°E 10'30", there have been a few complications but I am pleased to report that the mission is complete. After days of looking through the research lab I finally managed to find the plans for the rocket engine. However, these are plans and nothing more. The technology needed to even create a prototype will come about years from now. But now with these plans we can distribute it to companies and engineers so they can begin to create the plans needed to create it in the future. But the complications I mentioned earlier involved the “professor” I mentioned in my last report. It turns out she was a member of the OTIS who was conducting counterintelligence operations in the university. I found this out by searching her desk in her office when she was in a meeting with the headmaster and found orders from the OTIS to her. Since I discovered that she was a threat, I followed her home to find out where she lived so I could sit and wait for her to arrive home so I could eliminate her. On January 3, I took a sick day and waited until she left her home so I could break in. I picked the lock and checked for traps or alarms before I entered. When I entered I closed all the blinds and turned off all the lights that were left on, sat in an armchair with my Plat M1300(Zoranian equivalent of Colt M1900) trained at the door, waiting for her arrival. When she arrived home, I heard another voice besides her own outside, it was a male voice. I had not anticipated this but I improvised with ease. When they opened the door, I saw Agent Mortuain enter with a man in tow. I didn’t hesitate when the lights were turned on and open fired putting a bullet in between the eyes of Agent Mortuain and put four bullets into the chest of the man behind her. I then fled the scene without leaving anything that could be traced back to me as I have been trained to do.
There was a second complication but it is more of something that is of concern to the safety of Zoranians. I did some digging into the Project Comet that the daughter of the head of the Ministry of Technology mentioned and it is intriguing yet concerning. The project is that of a weaponized plane, not like the ones we have at home. This actually has an engine and some ability to fly for a lot longer. But apparently, there was recently a crash that took the life of a test pilot. While this is of no active concern closely I would advise we invest in something similar to ensure the protection of all Zoranians. I copied down the project blueprints and plans and intend to bring them with me when I return home. I have already prepared my faked death to ensure that I can leave without people searching for me at the university. I shall return home soon.

Agent 2578349987 reporting from the bunker at  35°24'15"S, 17°E 10'30", everything is proceeding as planned. I have explored the research lab in my time since the last report and have yet to find the plans for the rumored rocket engine being developed. However, I have found other things of interest such as a device that seems to be able to lower the temperature in a room, seems like something that would be useful in Zoran, and some sort of communication device that uses microwaves to broadcast a message over a large area. I was able to acquire the blueprints for these technologies. I shall hand them off to the next agent that I meet.
Since my last report, I have been successful in gaining the trust of ........ ....... and I have learned a few things of interest. The head of the Ministry of Technology has been growing a bit paranoid over what she quoted as “unfortunate occurrences” in a program he refers to Project Comet. She did not know what this project was but she has said she has been concerned over the health of her father. I theorize that the man is suffering from high blood pressure which could lead to a heart attack, his death could put what we are searching for at risk as his successor might scrap the project. This motivates me to work with haste and to try and find the blueprints as fast as possible.
But there is one last piece of information that is of concern. There is a “professor” here by the name of “Tatiana Mortuain” who has taken an interest in me, but not in the romantic sense. I suspect that my cover is at risk of being blown should she persist her interest. I am led to believe that she might either be an agent from another nation or an agent of the OTIA who is assigned to counterintelligence. If her interests persist or if I find any signs that she is working in counterintelligence I will have to take her out of the picture. I hope it will not come to that but I shall do what I must. I shall report back when I can.

Welcome to the map! Where can I RP? A brief "Session Zero" for TWP Roleplay Esferos lore introduction Welcome to Esferos!
The center of roleplay in TWP is the map of our world, Esferos. Our canon is tied to the map and our stories are built by our community—whether you're into nation building, international affairs, or rootin' tootin' cowboys, you'll find something that grips you here. There's no telling how deep you'll go!
Citizens of The West Pacific can request a place on the map to develop a history, culture, and people for their nation. While collaborating with others, you will create roleplay like factbooks, news, stories, or sports—essentially, whatever you want to do with your nation within reason. The current RP year is 1422 AF, this translates to modern-day Earth. Most technologies are also roughly equivalent to the modern day.
Before we get too into things, if you have any questions, you may address them to one of the Lorekeepers on the TWP Roleplay Discord server.
To join the world of Esferos you must be a citizen of TWP, read the rest of this Guide, introduce yourself on the RP Discord server, and submit your Mapplication™ in the Mapplication™ thread.
We very strongly encourage you to join RP Discord server before you submit your Mapplication™. Ideally, we want everyone to have the opportunity to get to know the different regions of Esferos (geographically and culturally) and see who is active there so you can decide which area is the right fit for you, as opposed to throwing a dart at the map.
Where can I roleplay?
TWP's two roleplay locations are the regional forums and the TWP Roleplay discord. However, these two places have different uses.
TWP Forums
TWP's forums are the official home of TWP's roleplaying—there are four roleplay subforums available for use:
Atlas of the Occident - Map and Factbook - Home of the regional map and forum-based factbooks of the nations that reside in it. The Repository - Local & World News - The place to post newswires about the goings on in and around your nation. Roleplay - How the West Was Won - The general RP subforum. If you have an IC roleplay thread to post, it belongs here. OOC Support - Information & Dispute Arbitration - The place where OOC threads belong and where disputes can be resolved. And of course the RP Archive, which is, as you guessed, where really old clutter goes.
RP Discord
The TWP Roleplay Discord server is the home of OOC discussion and worldbuilding. Its activities include nation building, arts and crafts, regional planning, and all sorts of other things, but it is not the place for in-character (IC) talk. It is also not a gameplay or foreign affairs Discord, nor a substitute for the general chat and spam functions of main TWP server.

Roleplay Resources
Official Resources Big Book of Numbers - This contains the core statistics and basic information for all nations on the map, including capitals, land area, population, languages, and much more. The information you provide in your Mapplication™ will go in the Book, and you can comment on cells to add further information. Session Zero Guidance - This guidance forms the basis of our shared world. No one is allowed to go against the guidelines set in the Guidance. Unofficial Resources Language Table - This spreadsheet contains the names of all Esferosi nations in the different languages of Esferos. Maintained by Giovanniland, based on the spreadsheet begun by Kurabis Legal System Questionnaire / Comparison - Prompts to explore the way your nation's society is constructed through its legal system  Nation Building Exercise - A useful exercise for exploring balance in nationbuilding. A brief "Session Zero" for TWP Roleplay
The term "Session Zero" comes from tabletop roleplaying games, in which before a campaign starts, the game master sits down with the players to introduce the setting, set boundaries, and clarify expectations for the coming games. For our uses, it refers to the most basic rules and customs you need to know before starting to build your nation on Esferos.
When in doubt or in need of help/guidance, ask the Lorekeepers. They are all experienced in subjects related to wordbuilding such as history, military studies, archaeology, anthropology, and political and international studies. They also guide the balance, quality, and realism of our shared world, and may take action to enforce it.
Balance
An overriding goal of TWP Roleplay is balance—this means everything good comes with drawbacks. No nation can be good at everything, just as no nation can be bad at everything. You cannot “win” the RP spreadsheet
Your goal should not be to have the highest number on a sheet. Having a high population, a high GDP per capita, or high military spending each have their own drawbacks. It is a balance. Realism
Technological realism: Existing technologies with widespread implementation, such as cell phones or helicopters, are fair play. Advanced technologies with limited or experimental implementation, such as fully autonomous vehicle fleets or advanced laser weapons systems, are guided by balance: if a real-life analogue nation has access to a technology, then you may attempt to justify that access by defining the balance. Historical realism: Real-life religions and languages do not exist on Esferos. Similarly, you cannot use RL religious symbols in your IC religion. You may reference them as inspiration or ‘flavour’ out-of-character. Using similar inspirations to other nations does not mean your nation must be related to them. Your nation didn't always exist in its current form. People probably lived there for thousands of years, but much of it was in a very different form to modern life. It's unlikely that the exact same political entity that exists today existed hundreds of years ago. Ancient developments should follow a timescale with reference or similarity to the real world. If you are interested in exploring the ancient history of your region of Esferos, you should look into real-world societal developments for similar regions and timespans on Earth. Modern developments should also reference the real world. For example, the ‘Industrial Revolution' was a process which unfolded at different scales and speeds around the world from 1760 to today. International relations don't have to be cordial, and your nation can have been friendly and have histories with countries it isn't friendly with today. Miscellaneous realism: Just as RL religions and languages don’t exist here, RL places don’t exist either. Do not name your nation, cities, and other things after prominent RL places like “Shanghai”. Exceptions are common given names like “Georgetown”. If you need help coming up with names, ask in the Discord or check out a random name generator. There is no magic. That doesn’t mean people can’t believe something is miraculous or magical, but you cannot state as an OOC fact that it is. You should make distinctions between historical, semi-legendary, and legendary events and figures. Just because something is not an OOC fact does not mean that it cannot be believed to be fact IC. The laws of physics are the same as we understand them in the real world. They cannot be manipulated or exploited in any extraordinary way. Humans are the only available species to roleplay as. The current year is not the beginning of your nation’s story
We recommend avoiding the propensity to make big events happen in the current year; you should roleplay past events or allow them to be a historical fact. Just because you weren’t playing your nation before does not mean it didn’t exist or have relationships. Talk to your neighbours and define your historical relationships with them, it’s all part of the fun! War is difficult, messy, and detailed
There is no total victory. You should find some drawback or disadvantage to your activity—there’s no fun in always winning all the time. Just because you have a large army and say military spending is 50% of your GDP doesn’t mean you win. Be tactful and realistic; look to real life examples and ask the Lorekeepers for help if you need it. Yes, North Korea is a “real life example” but their level of expenditure is an extreme outlier and comes at great cost. Border changes will not happen without Loremaster approval. This would be dependent on quality and content of roleplay. Remember that matters of war and military are subject to oversight by the Lorekeepers for balance and realism purposes. You are not a “recently discovered tribe”, and avoiding other common tropes
There are no “undiscovered” nations on Esferos, just as there are none on Earth. If your nation is “opening up diplomatic and foreign relationships after a long period of isolationism” you are not going to be up to the modern standard of life or technology. Continents are not “Teams”
The Continental Congresses don't have meaning beyond out-of-character (OOC) planning. There is no IC organization called a "Continental Congress". In the Continental Congress channels, we come together to plan histories, geography, and other things that affect our neighbors, but the goal isn't one continent-spanning intergovernmental organization. Avoid treating continents as teams. A few community rules
Don’t be afraid to ask for help. Worldbuilding and RP can be daunting, but you’re not alone—we’re a community.  Roleplay is multilateral, which means every party has to agree—you only participate in ways you agree to. If any issues arise, please let one of the moderators know. Along with this is zero tolerance for hate imagery or masked clones or iterations of nations like Nazi Germany. This section is adapted from the TWP RP20 Guidance and Rebalancing, which includes a slightly more in-depth version of the Session Zero.
Esferos lore introduction
Geography
Our planet is called Esferos, a medium-sized terrestrial world orbiting a gas giant around a binary star, and is the only astronomical object known to support life. Its surface covered mostly by oceans, with a handful of major continents and numerous smaller island chains.
The five continents of Esferos are Andolia, Aura, Doll Guldur, Nur, and Polaris.
Andolia is located in the southern hemisphere — a land of broad grasslands and forests in the east, mountainous shores in the west, and deserts and rainforests in between. Andolia also has the most active volcanos of any continent. Aura is regarded by some as the historical center of Esferos — much of the southern part of the continent is tropical, covered in lush rainforests and fertile plains, while the north is much more arid and contains the world's largest desert. Doll Guldur is a rugged land in the northeast of the region — its terrain is made up of great plains and wide forests, with shattered mountain chains along the eastern coasts. Doll Guldur also contains the world's largest endorheic basin. Nur is located far to the east the other continents — its surface is covered by plains and rainforests in the north to mountains, temperate forests, and steppe in the south. Nur is the largest and least densely populated continent of Esferos. Polaris is located in the far north — it is a land of great forests and greater mountains in the west, grasslands and hills in the east, and desert in the center and south. It is also home to the largest freshwater lake in the world. Miscellanea
Most of Esferos uses the Markan calendar system, which counts time from the founding of the Holy Principality of Saint Mark. One properly counts time using the BF and AF suffixes, short for "Before Founding" and "After Founding". The current year is 1424 AF. You can easily translate between the Markan and Gregorian calendar by taking the year in the Gregorian calendar and subtracting 600. For instance, 1900 CE in our time is the same as 1300 AF in roleplay time (1900-600=1300). The international language of Esferos is called 'Common'—it originated as a trade pidgin among sailors in the Darkesian Sea and spread from there. Out of character, most players use English to approximate it, but it is not related to English in-character. Esferos is a multipolar world—no single power international power has the strength to dominate the others.

Agent 2578349987 reporting from the bunker at 35°24'15"S, 17°E 10'30", infiltration has commenced. My application as a professor at the Cangham University was accepted last week. Today was my first day of work and I was introduced to the members of the faculty under my persona Professor Agustin Normalor . The faculty was, as reported, a group of well educated individuals who have degrees in different areas of what they call “hard sciences”. When I went into the headmaster’s office I did not notice anything of interest when I took a glance around the room. As to go along with my persona, I had to teach astrophysics classes to freshmen at the university. It was frustrating as many of them were not paying attention, but when I looked at the list of students, I saw a name that was of interest, ........ ......., the daughter of the head of the Ministry of Technology. I will see if I can get closer to her to see if I can learn more information on the potential rocket engine that is being developed here. However, today I was not able to be given my key card to access the research lab here at the university but I have seen where the entrance to the lab is. That is my report for today, I will report again when I am able.

After a suspicious amount of people voting for a bill proposed by a member of the Senate, the opposite party hired private detectives to investigate the potential causes for this. As it turns out... 13 out of the 16 who voted for the bill were women.
The private company delved deeper into the causes for this seemingly woman majority. The bill itself was on economic and land reform, not particularly beneficial to one sex or the other. After asking one of these women why she voted for the bill, and a little money to convince her to confess, she said she'd been sleeping with the senator who proposed the bill.
This woman was already married, but it's even worse. After yet more quiet bribes, 8 other women admitted to sleeping with the same senator. And as a favor, he asked them all to vote for his bill in the Senate.
The Senator in question is famous socialist Paulrice de Gaffe, and he's been formerly confronted about his goings in the Senate. When told about 9 of 13 confessing to sleep with him, he dismissed it as the opposition bribing them to fabricate dirt on him, which was half true. 4 out of the 9 of the women were married, and de Gaffe was engaged. After hearing all this explode on the news, the husband's of the 4 women have started divorce proceedings and denounced de Gaffe as a womanizer. As for de Gaffe, when he next saw his fiance, he was promptly kicked in a very tender spot, as a bit of karma.
This scandal is sure to severely hurt de Gaffe's chances of being reelcted, and be a rallying point for de Gaffe's oponents, namely the President Markeretik himself. Sadly, the President refused to comment on the scandal.

The country of Zoran is a loose confederation of communes that are united under the Grand Defense Council, which is a unicameral legislature.
There are few restrictions on business and the economy except in regards to pollution, slavery(which is illegal), and a few other things. People are free to make money in any way they wish. The way the economy is regulated is by the people as the culture of Zoran promotes honesty, trust, and honor and these three things are heavily emphasized in Zoran(think Japan in terms of honor, it can bring dishonor to your entire family and ruin them) and should anyone discover anything dishonorable the company could lose a lot of business and potentially ruin themselves as well.

Agent 2578349987 reporting from the bunker at 35°24'15"S, 17°E 10'30", infiltration has commenced. My application as a professor at the Cangham University was accepted last week. Today was my first day of work and I was introduced to the members of the faculty under my persona Professor Agustin Normalor . The faculty was, as reported, a group of well educated individuals who have degrees in different areas of what they call “hard sciences”. When I went into the headmaster’s office I did not notice anything of interest when I took a glance around the room. As to go along with my persona, I had to teach astrophysics classes to freshmen at the university. It was frustrating as many of them were not paying attention, but when I looked at the list of students, I saw a name that was of interest, ........ ......., the daughter of the head of the Ministry of Technology. I will see if I can get closer to her to see if I can learn more information on the potential rocket engine that is being developed here. However, today I was not able to be given my key card to access the research lab here at the university but I have seen where the entrance to the lab is. That is my report for today, I will report again when I am able.

AGRICULTURAL REFORM  
Three-year protocol for increasing cereal production.
The goal is to increase cereal cultivation by 30%: organization is needed to efficiently bring cereals from the field to processing to the table. Not only horizontal integration is needed, but above all vertical integration. The unity of the agricultural offer must be created and agreements and networks between agricultural businesses and the food industry of mutual economic interest must be created.
Increasing production does not mean producing blindly without programming and without strategies. It is also important how the product is stored and how it is made: in order to enter into large supply contracts with the industry, it is in fact essential to achieve full and effective quantitative, qualitative and health traceability of the batches of raw materials that are stored. Traceability is the starting point to qualify the national cereal offer.
One of the priorities is to invest in developing the use of digital technologies. Digital technologies are an extraordinary opportunity to increase the effectiveness of the national agri-food model, especially for small and medium-sized enterprises.
We will also focus on the dissemination of innovative precision agriculture practices, with support for research, support for new technologies; developing new varieties of durum wheat, suitable for the territory and different climates.

The early-morning rituals of the Dodek Estate are under way, the main gates to the drive are opened for the day as a smattering of gardeners, housekeepers, and other estate employees arrive in a utility vehicle. 
Overlooking the main drive from the bay windows of his private office, Baron-Esquire Theo Dodek cradles a cup of steaming hot water and nods to the arriving employees. As the Baron nestles into the plush leather chair at his stately desk, two curt knocks at the service door interrupt his usually peaceful morning goings-on. Not hearing an objection, his valet enters the service door and announces "Good morning sir. There is a phone call on the home line for you. They were connected by the Esquiry operator."
Theo furrows his brows at this, now not only peeved, but perplexed. He had no ongoing business with the Esquiry, and they certainly wouldn't be putting a call of interest out at such an hour. "Thank you, I'll take the call here." The valet leaves the room and Theo turns to the phone on the desk, waiting for the line to begin blinking. 
When the green indicator "Home Line" begins blinking, Theo clears his throat and sips the hot water. He picks up the receiver and answer "Hello, good mo-" where he is cut off by a woman's voice. 
"The police are on their way to execute an arrest warrant on Derek. Take care Theo." The call disconnects, and is Theo left bewildered and his blood rushing in his ears. He hurriedly summons his valet and scrambles to retrieve his cell phone from the drawer. Fumbling through his speed dial contacts, the phone begins to ring as his valet enters to which Theo abruptly orders "Get Derek's location now! Then CALL THE LAWYERS. Tell no one else." The phone continues to ring and is picked up by an answering machine - "You BETTER have an answer for this! Get back to me IMMEDIATELY". Angrily ending the call, Theo tosses his phone to his desk and runs his hands through his greyed hair as he catches movement on the drive out of the corner of his eye. 
A convoy of police vehicles pull into the drive, the final cruiser blocking the gates. As the vehicles fan out through the driveway, the employees gather in the windows and at the edges of the lawns.
