So long as the position itself exists there's a problem, imo. Vlagh wasn't the problem, the position was/is.

Wouldn't be a TWP thread without a threadjack. Glad that has not changed.

But back to the point of this thread, the apology is accepted, but leadership is now needed.

Leadership unfortunately can't come from anyone but the delegate on this because you took the authority away from those who had it.

That's not a judgmental statement but a fact. Now you've got to lead us to the next place and if some people want the offsite government and you don't, well you've got to lead those folks to your way of thinking.

    The delegate seat is weighty.

I'm only in with the stipulation I listed above. I'm sticking to my guns on this one.

This right here is why I would have love URAP to give me a heads up. I would have never, repeat never, gotten TWP's NS embassy restarted had I known this was coming. Utter waste of time and makes me look pretty foolish.

I don't like to waste my time.

Piling on Vlagh is the misdirection. As I said before, I don't really care enough to try to discern if he has ulterior motives. It takes a lot of brainpower and i don't think he's the source of the problem.

The problem that we have is our offsite forum's activity levels are light years below what they are on the in-game site. As the offsite oligarchs  - and yes we're the oligarchs - we have constantly sought ways to make the offsite forum more active because we think that the game should have an offsite forum and that it should be active.

As I stated months ago, why don't we try to change the whole paradigm and do away with  the offsite government dichotomy and do something different. Let's have the government be in-game and have the delegate establish whatever he/she/it wants it to be as delegates change. If we want to use this forum great, and if we only want to use this forum for limited things that's great too.

I think our constant reboot of forum governments is akin to a leopard trying to change it's spots and become something it isn't. We are a Karaoke Friday, Chocolate Loving, Marsupial hating, region and we don't need to be like TP, TNP, TEP, or anyone else. We just need to be comfortable enough in our own skin to realize the offsite may never be what the onsite is. But our onsite activity and TWP-ness is pretty da-- good.

So I say let's just let go of trying to fit a square peg in a circular hole and build our government at the delegate's direction on the onsite forum. Let's be the leopard and accept, no embrace, our spots.

And this my friends is the crux of the issue.

The delegate has no authority as far as I can tell to dissolve the offsite government. But Minister of Legislative RP did, technically, and he may have some backing to do so.

I have no desire to participate in any form of government that can be so unilaterally dissolved without so much as a notice. The reason is, why invest in something if someone  - per whatever - just wants to pull the rug out.

    Not cool in my book.

    This is not Vlagh's fault.

Let's be clear. I accept our delegate's apology and once again in recent memory of TWP I'm really disturbed that I'm excluded from the conversation on how to improve things.

See my comment in the other thread.  This is silly.  The Delegate has the authority to ignore an offsite government, but not to dissolve it.

I'm not convinced the Minister of Legislative RP has purview over the Voice.

I can see arguments both ways given the latitude Vlagh was given when we had the constitutional convention so it is not completely out of the realm of logic.

Having said that the last few days we were picking up traction with the Voice and we would have picked up even more given time.

What concerns me most is that our Delegate did not come to me with concerns prior to this action being taken. I commented weeks ago that I was on vacation until last week and that afterwards my time would be freed up. Since then we've begun to see movement in the Voice and we will continue to see more as I know TWPers are interested in forging a future.

the timing and the how this occurred have me troubled. not to mention, as I said, i'm not 100 percent convinced the legislative RP role is a role that continues.

If I have learned anything from my own removal from the Guardians, delays are no longer going to be acceptable. We've got to push forward. This is not an indictment against any one person, but we need to move.

Yeah, Guardians can see everything (ah, miss those days ) so it is moot from that perspective.

But, just for the sake of argument let's assume that a DA goes off the rails, if all DAs can see everything then we've just left ourselves open. With Guardians & Admins able to access all areas, I think there's enough oversight of the DAs so that we shouldn't have to worry about something happening on the boards that would put the region at risk.

From a military perspective, I'd like to be able to conduct covert ops if necessary and keep as minimum people in the loop as possible just because of the security of the missions. With intel missions it's even more imperative to have as few knowing what's being done.

If the FA DA would like other DAs in the know, I get that, especially for input and whatnot...but i'm not sure the street should go both ways.

    I like the ad Fish.

We are indeed in a new start and as with most things new, I fully hope that we will get our creative juices flowing as Fish has. Members of the TWPAF will soon learn that I lead looking to inspire versus control. I hope people in TWPAF feel free to communicate openly and share their ideas.

Fish - can you shoot me a note with any other ideas you have around advertising and let's see where we want to go with this. I think this is awesome what you have here. What I want to make sure we do, and admittedly I owe Elegarth a TG, is stay in alignment with our Advocate's vision for TWP. Unity is a strength of regions that is undervalued in today's NS but is something I hope we new leaders build as the "old Guard" - one that is very unified - look to pass on to less green pastures.

Well...not all of us old Guard that is...hehe
