  1. dude, im old...skype is still new to me!
  2. Heyo Dilber! You came back to be delegate? LOL! The more things change, the more they stay the same.
  3. Hello there! I was a wee bit of a hellraiser in my day! Who is the delegate these days?
  4. Retirement life is still good. I miss the heyday of this game. Gen Xers used to be the Young people, but now its Gen Z. Time flies but politics still remain!
  5. Checking in. How you fine folks doing? Ohh...I can't see the Guardians forum any longer. EDIT: Ugh, down to "member". The sadness is real. :p
  6. Sorry I'm just getting back to this. Westie, reading through your post was emotional and I wasn't able to properly respond. I'm still not but thank you for sharing. Eli, Cormac, and Dark...thank you. I wasn't able to write about my dad they way I wanted until the end of the year. I wrote about my mother too. http://donroach.org/blog/2017/12/31/so-long-2017/ So far, in 2018 I've been making choices to "live" and it's been really good.
  7. The origin of the name punk daddy begins in 1992. I was a 14 year old kid who loved to act and was acting in my first High School play. I was very insecure this particular year and there were some girls I liked who were making fun of me. Playful fun but I told them, “well you know what they say about black guys, right?” For those that don’t know, “they” say black guys are well endowed. From there I gained the nickname, Big Don. “Don” is PD’s real first name. In my junior year, I played the role of Daddy in a play, was way more secure in myself, and those same girls changed my nickname to Big Daddy. When I went to college I joined a web chat as Big Daddy. However, I was very precocious as gained a nickname – Punk Daddy – from the older folks who thought I was just a kid who should go back to school and not talk to them about matters of the day. I like Big Don, Big Daddy, but I liked Punk Daddy the most because I felt like most people in my world wouldn’t associate me with that name. And I like being different. So when I joined NS back in 2004, I had been using Punk Daddy for years and it became my first nation name. ------------------------------------------------- This post isn’t really about my name but about punk daddy’s daddy. He passed away on August 21st. I’d venture to guess that both Darkesia and Eli are aware as they are my friends on Facebook. It was a pulmonary embolism that took him out. From the moment he woke my stepmom to tell her he was having trouble breathing to the moment he died was about 40-45 minutes. I did some reading on massive embolisms and they strike suddenly and they are not easy to treat once symptoms start showing. In the days prior to my dad passing away I had texted him this “I want you to live to see that day” regarding seeing me, his son, reach a particular level of financial success he and my mom had tried to attain (and failed) back in the early 90s. He didn’t respond to that text which wasn’t unusual, so don’t read too much into that. My last text to him was “TGIF!”, it’s funny that’s the last message I sent to my father. He was my best friend. He could tell me things others couldn’t. As the oldest son, I took on the responsibility of writing his obituary. It was not easy but I knew that I had to do it. The final result was something I’m sure he would have enjoyed. I’ve also had bad job news and my oldest son is also having some health issues. It’s been a trying time. But my head is still up and I wanted to share with you all where I was. PD
  8. I'm a black dude and US citizen. I dislike the term African-America sounds really technical and I'm not Africa and no one in ancestry has been in Africa for centuries.
  9. Welcome to the freak show! It's cute to see your desire to dominate the world. If you are able to last a month or so let's talk.
  10. 2 week ban? Cormac is losing it. Such a waste.
  11. Yeah i didn't really like it but i had high expectations looking forward to batman v superman though
  12. I'm going to jump on the I told you so bandwagon too. We should dissolve the offsite government. I do not believe it serves any function any longer. I think instead we should create an onsite government and get really good at where our strengths are. I've said this before and will continue to say it. Listen, I'm a member of the TNP community too and I'd not advocate that there because the offsite is supreme. But here in TWP our on-site communite is where we should put our focus, imo. 13. Way back in the day when TWP had two legislatures and a Mayoral type of thing, offsite activity wasn't a problem. Way back in the day TWP did rival TNP for offsite activity. Changing to onsite supremacy has led to a number of ebbs and flows in activity but it's been a struggle for years.
  14. I think the end of section to makes these changes a non-starter here.
  15. Many years ago, TWP rivaled TNP as the most active offsite forum. There were many arguments back then. To me - the disconnect between delegate and offsite is the reason for little offsite activity. I'm just going to throw this out there. If I was delegate, I would force the offsite government to be an arm of what I'm doing onsite. No if's and's or but's about it. I think that's the route we should take, imo.
  16. BBB - you could open a discussion here. I think that would be a great idea. Let's figure out what our best approach should be.
  17. Big B Baby was my nation. I brought it in from The New Meritocracy when I saw TP had done something similar (though days earlier) and I thought it would help jump start us. We ended with 0 infected and 4 trillion plus survivors. That's pretty awesome.
  18. I noticed this too...at least activity within "The Voice". But I think if you look outside of The Voice you'll actually see quite a bit of activity. And I'll mention this again that I have come to believe that TWP has turned into a very active onsite community that simply has no need for an active off-site government. I think this is due to the separation between church and state I mean delegate and offsite. The offsite doesn't regulate the delegate and without said regulation what point is there for an offsite government unless to administrate tasks delegated by the delegate. I just don't believe there is a need or desire for an offsite bureaucracy within TWP.
  19. Ha! No posts since my first one eh? Well, ZH 17 i think we've turned the tide and are losing more zombies. Dead are going up. I feel like our region is doing a great job. But TP is beating us and has a higher max potential of survivors. However, the other GCRs are getting wiped out. I mean it's really TP, TWP, and everyone else. I expected a little better.
  20. Hello all, I figure we could keep a running diary of events to memorialize today + a half day. Please post your entries and take on events below. I'll start. So it's 4:08pm (ZH :08) where I'm at and I've begun researching the cure. Started with a ton of zombies already and can't wait to use my cure missiles!!!
