Dissolution of The Voice of the West Pacific Union
Fujai replied to Big Bad Badger's topic in Voice of The West Pacific Union
Yes. -
Long live the VoV!! Vive le VoV!! My services, little as they may be, are at your disposal.

My nationality is American, born in Chicago, raised in Wisconsin. Ethnicity is more complicated. My mom is 100% German, and my dad has some German as well, but there's also French (via Canada), English (via New England and Canada in the 1600s), some Scottish, and a tiny slice of Polish. I have an ancestor, Peter Ingersoll, who was a Captain in the Continental Army and also owned an inn in Great Barrington, MA. I don't remember the name of it though.

So, as you may or may not have noticed, I haven't really been around the past month or two. I'm going through a rough patch over in RL, and I'm just having trouble dealing with it. I just have a lot of stress and badness in my life right now, but don't worry, I'll be around occasionally, not enough to actually do much, though. I'll be be back completely sometime around February after the semester ends. Thanks.

Yeah, that makes sense, and it's doubtful that that'll even happen in the first place.

I haven't been incredibly receptive of systems like this in the past, but I like where this is going. My only problem is in section 3, number 6. I feel like that should be changed to being just another runoff election or a vote by the Voice instead of something as arbitrary as who declared candidacy first. I would have quoted it, but mobile doesn't feel like doing that today. Overall it's a great proposal.

How is this flag? Let me know if you want anything different?
-
One could be for the Office itself, and the other could be modified for each individual ambassador.
-
My apologies for the way I went about this, but in retrospect, I really didn't want that being seen. I could have made it nicer, but I preferred to scrap it. (Also yours looks really great, what did you use to make it?)

By the way, there was a change in the seal that will be my submission (in other words I thought it looked terrible so I made a new one)

Hello, and welcome to Fujaian Designs, formerly Flags by Fujai, a graphic design service run by yours truly, Fujai (pronounced foo-'jay or foo'yay). While this service began with flags, it has since expanded to include regional themes, branding (for nations, storefronts, or anything else), maps, seals, badges, awards, coats of arms, banners, and any other type of graphic design! To request a design, simply send me a telegram, forum PM, or a Discord message at Smithy876#6074. I ask that you include what you would like, any ideas you have, such as color or style, and what it will be used for. After I send you a first draft, let me know if there is anything you would like to change—I encourage constructive criticism so that I can make you the best product possible. You can see a gallery of my work at my dispatch here. A couple notes: My only request is that after I've made you a design (assuming that you like it), you point people in my direction if they ask about it or need something designed. Programs I use, if you're curious: For designing, I mainly use Adobe Illustrator (95%), Adobe Photoshop (4%), and FlagMaker (1%). Free alternatives to Illustrator and Photoshop are Inkscape and GIMP. If you are a student or work for a university or large company, you probably have some sort of discount for Adobe products. If you don't have a discount, they charge ridiculously exorbitant prices for much the same functionality as the free alternatives. ColorBrewer.org is a great utility for making scientifically tested color schemes for maps and other forms of data visualization. Color.adobe.com is also a useful tool for making color schemes. I use Instant Eyedropper to sample the color of any pixel on my screen, and Image Resizer for Windows to resize my images easily. This will always be a completely free service. Thanks! --Fujai

I agree. If not the name, this should at least be somewhere on it, potentially a tagline.

The Western Mail The Snark Sentinel The Western Banner The Western Post The Snark Sun I think it should be a part of TWP, something that symbolizes us as a community.

Yep. Yeah, you're right. I forgot about that bit.

Wait, it's not pronounced Dark-EE-jah? (with the J pronounced with a French accent (there's probably a sound for that in Englich, but I can't put it into words)) My mind has been thoroughly blown. Fujai is pronounced Foo-JAY, as it says in my signature, because everyone I've seen try to pronounce it does it wrong. It doesn't help that Fujai is pronounced quite oddly for a nation with a language closely related to Norwegian, since Norwegian doesn't have a hard 'j' sound.

Charter change proposal/discussion Part 2
Fujai replied to Yy4u's topic in Voice of The West Pacific Union
8. I agree with changing the terms to months, with elections on the first of September and March. Plus no term limits unless they are consecutive, as stated above. 9. There should be some protocol here, I feel. 10. See above. 11. I've stated previously that this should be changed to requiring a 2/3 majority vote. -
I feel like that's a bit much. He betrayed our trust and acted incredibly childish, but that doesn't necessarily mean that we should burn his name out of all the history books. Until a couple weeks ago, when his leadership and decision making were called into question, he was a valued member of the region. Maybe he isn't leader material, but we can at least reach out to him. In these times we need all the experienced and dedicated players we can get.
