Arifiyyah Football League Opening Ceremony
 
Medina Arif-Yesterday was the opening ceremony for all football leagues in Arifiyyah. The ceremony was officiated by the Honorable Minister of Youth & Sports, Dr Haji Isma Danial accompanied by the chief executive officer of AFA at the Arifiyyah Football Association headquarters. The following is a list of contested leagues:
1. Arifiyyah Professional League(12 teams)
2. Arifiyyah Premier League(10 teams)
3. A3 League(10 teams)
4. A4 League(8 teams)
5. A5 League(8 teams)
6. People's Football League(8 teams)
7. Amateur League of States(depending on the respective state football association)
 
“I hope all the teams will give a great rivalry in the league they are competing in”, Dr Isma said in his inaugural speech. A total of 12 teams have completed their registration to compete in the Arifiyyah Professional League. Surely all the fans can’t wait to watch this prestigious competition. Yesterday it was officially announced that all football leagues will start on 30 May.

The above squad will represent Larxia in the Football World Cup. This team was handpicked by coach Ronald Guardiola, one of the best coaches in Larxia and in the world. These players were selected from the Larxian Pro League and Larxians playing in foreign leagues who have proved their mettle with and against the best players in the world.
The chief of FFL issued a statement that the FFL had full faith in the coach and the team, led by Leo Messy.
The Larxian National team will be donning a blue and black stripe jersey with the FFL logo on the left and the Larxian flag on the right.

  Medina Arif FC about to sign Import player from Larxia  
Medina Arif-One of the biggest clubs in Arifiyyah, Medina Arif FC is rumored to be signing an import player who was once with the Larxia national squad at the last World Cup.
 
According to the team manager, the player has signed a 2 -year contract with Medina Arif and will arrive here soon. This player will also strengthen Medina Arif FC with the experience available even though he is only a substitute for the Larxia national squad. The player's information is still kept secret but it is rumored that the player is playing in the attacking position.

A few hours ago, Medina Chief Executive Officer Arif 2 officially handed over his club to a businessman named Dato Ahmad Fazil Hadhari after getting pressure from fans. The new CEO also changed the club’s name to the old name, namely Arifian United FC. Dato Fazil said, "this has become proof that Medina Arif 2 is no longer under the management of Medina Arif FC and is no longer a feeder club for the club (Medina Arif FC). Now we will be a competitor with Medina Arif FC in this city ( Medina Arif).

Leaders and People's Trip to Giovanniland
Today is the second day of the Leaders and People Trip programme in Giovanniland. His Majesty Sultan Arifiyyah IV has wished to bring 1200 poor people in the interior of Arifiyyah to visit abroad. He discussed with the Minister of Rural Affairs on the implementation of this programme. "We will divide the 1200 participants into four groups of 300 people each. The first group will go to Giovanniland on May 22, and the other groups will be rescheduled. Each group will go to a different state,"said the Rural Minister during an interview.
His Majesty the Sultan held this programme with the hope of giving the opportunity to the needy people in the interior to get the experience of traveling abroad. Although he could not bring in all the people from the interior, he was confident that he could make all the participants happy. Our reporters have also been following the progress of the programme. All the people are really enjoy the trip and like to socialize with Tuanku Sultan.

The Federal Republic of United Adaikes
The Federal Republic of United Adaikes is a nation found in the eastern-northeastern part of Polaris, bordering Marisalia in the north and northwest, and Tara and Cambray in the west. The sixth most-populous country in the continent with about 14 million Adaikesians, the federal government convenes in its capital, Adaikes Central in the Adaikes region.

The nation is divided administratively in 8 regions, Adaikes (the national capital), Ludsport, Mille-mer (East Mille-mer and West Mille-mer), Ngadabrigg, Saymacrell, Thraproy, and Thurhope. The islands-regions do not have cities and are managed by the regional government. After an investment by the federal and regional government a few years ago, they have designated Thraproy as the Sports Capital of the United Adaikes.

Thraproy has five (5) cities, Fort Bloom, Neojunc, Perthdoches, Steskia (the regional capital), and Wrarnerbadshot. Sportstown is found in the greater and central Steskia, and to uphold the name of the Sports Capital in the country, stadiums, courts and other playing venues of every known sport can be seen around the whole region.

I am really sorry for not responding to your invitation to drink tea in each other's company. I was a little busy with the final formalities of the transfer to complete monarchy. Coming back to the topic at point.
It has been brought to my attention that our nations are pitted against each other in a bid to secure qualification on the last day of the Super 8 matches. I believe this match will be extremely fun to watch together, so I want to invite you to La Marina, to watch the last game of the Super 8 stages. As for your invitation for tea, I would request you to let me play host in my country, and would like to invite you to my beach-side estate in La Marina, and later the Windlar Castle in New Larxia. We can sit and enjoy each other's company, while we enjoy the tea. You can come here tomorrow, to watch the Larxia v/s Saint Mark game, and then stay here for 5 days, and leave after the finals. I believe it will be an interesting game, as both the teams will be dead-set on securing the qualification for the semi-finals.

The new Spring City Memorial Hospital wing is nearing completion. Combining legacy brick buildings with a new, modernized inpatient wing, Spring City Memorial looks poised to bring cutting edge high quality care to the capital of Fuentana.

In an interview with the hospital CEO Dr. Rowan Creeko, we learned that the intention behind the new wing was to move beyond the generic common hospital ward and to create a more luxurious and relaxing environment. "People heal better when they feel better about the hospital space," Creeko explained. "For this reason, we made sure to create as many semi-private and private rooms as possible with natural light, plenty of plants, and with private bathrooms instead of typical open 'stepdown' units and intensive care units. We also had a landscaper come and work on outdoor gardens and park space. We're very excited about the new look."

Spring City Memorial is already considered a leader in neurosurgery and cardiothoracic surgery, but there are talks of creating an inter-regional specialty trauma care wing that will take select, tough cases from across Aura. "I think our established expertise will allow us to attract leaders in other fields to create one of the best trauma units in all the West." 
There are even rumblings about a possible acquisition of Fountainhead Hospital, an older but renowned hospital on the south side of Spring City with a lively orthopedic and general surgery practice. But Creeko explained that the more immediate task after launching this revamped hospital is to establish a better working relationship with the Fuentana Public City Hospital, which has been marred by scandals due to several bungled cases and inefficient case management. "We want to optimize care, and if we can make Public City Hospital an affiliate, think there will be a great trickledown effect. Our residents will rotate there to run clinics under faculty supervision, and we'll be able to tackle some of the toughest cases possible and standardize care there." 
A reception is planned to celebrate the completion of the new wing on 25 May.

Kunagadoga Quasena is taking a big risk by leaving Zoran and flying to Cambria. He knows that he is leaving a lot in the hands of his subordinates but after much difficulty trying to get in touch with a Cambrian official they finally got a hold of one a week ago. Kunagadoga did some basic research on the person he was about to meet and looked through the file he has on the person he is going to meet.
Darrin Oliver, a knight-inspector for the Order of Tamar. Appears he was a grenadier guard before moving to the Office of Justice. His service record is impressive and he appears to be a very accomplished man, it’s no wonder why the Order wanted him to join them. I shouldn’t underestimate him and I should show him my utmost respect if I am to work with him.
The car came to a stop and he exited the car and six mercenaries he hired for his protection exited another vehicle to accompany him as he walked up towards the Office of Justice building. The guards stopped him, “State your business.”
“I am here to see Knight-Inspector Darrin Oliver.” He said in Cambric, the guards radioed someone in to escort him to Darrin. As they walked through the building, Kunagadoga noticed how little of a threat his mercenaries looked in the presence of the Order members. They certainly do not disappoint, they live up to what I have heard about them so far. He was taken to an office where he was asked to sit and wait for the knight-inspector to arrive. But it was there that he noticed his guards were no longer with him and his eyes began to inspect the office.
The knight-inspector's office was spacious, but simply kept. It had a workmanlike look to it and the trappings that existed appeared to be out of design rather than the occupant's choice. A simple table strewn with scattered files sat in the middle of the room, a couch flanked by reading lamps sat opposite the door. A series of landscapes dominated the space above the couch. A built-in set of shelves to the right of the office's window bore testimony to everything Kunagadoga read in Darrin's file. Degrees, decorations, commendations, and trinkets from far-flung battlefields occupied every centimeter of shelf space. In front of the shelf was a hefty mahogany desk, perfectly polished and vibrantly red.
What a fine desk, I wonder if I can acquire one of these for myself after the war. But I will say I can’t remember the last time I was asked to wait in an office. It has been quite a few years since I was in a situation like this. 
He thought to himself as he waited. It took a few minutes before Darrin Oliver came into the room. He had a long white beard and wore a suit with a kilt. Kuna’s eyes met with Darrin’s extremely blue eyes and could see the experience behind them. He stood up and shook his hand,
“It is a pleasure to meet you knight-inspector. Might I say you were a difficult man to get a hold of.”
"Folks often forget to dial the '9' first. How can I be of service to you, Meistros Quasena?" The inspector smiled warmly and firmly shook Kunagadoga's hand before walking around the desk to his chair. "Please do sit. Why have you come all this way to see me today?"
“Now I believe you are aware that I am here to discuss a certain...thief or rather for you a certain terrorist.”
Darrin jabbed at his keyboard with two fingers. His brow furrowed, he seemingly split attention between hunting for the right key for the password and recalling the details of Kunagadoga's terrorist.
"You will need to be more specific. There are-" Darrin paused mid-sentence then triumphantly hit enter. "There are sadly too many terrorists in the world these days."
"What? You know, the terrorist!” He said slightly flabbergasted, he didn’t anticipate that CGZ wasn’t highlighted in any way shape or form for them, “The one that caused all the trouble in Saint-Jocelyn during the Olympics?”
"Ah! The infamous CGZ. Yes, it is true we have an interest in this fellow." The inspector reached across his desk and picked a couple red candies from a crystal dish on his desk. The room fell silent except for the sound of the hard candy clacking against Darrin's teeth.
“Here’s the deal, I do not know where his hideout is. We have been unsuccessful in locating it whether it be by drone, scouts, or scans. But I know where he is going to make his next appearance.” Kunagadoga said, “But before I get into those details, do you have any questions, requirements, demands, anything you want to mention or request.”
The gentle, almost bumbling look in Darrin's eyes hardened as Kunagadoga spoke. Whatever warmth was present a moment ago was replaced with cold resolve. Darrin held the gaze, continued to play with the candy in his mouth, but didn't speak.
What is this man playing at? I know I can be an intimidating bastard but this guy is a master at intimidation. I can’t read him whatsoever! He is unlike anyone I have ever dealt with!
Beads of sweat forms along Kunadoga’s forehead as those blue eyes unsteady him. He cleared his throat before saying,
“Now for where our target is going to be. Knowing Atsil Ani’-Wah’, the daughter of the late President Apenimon Ani’-Wah’, she will leave CGZ to join the monarchists sometime in the next month or two. When she leaves, CGZ will take her to the Monarchist headquarters and will leave her there. Thankfully for us, we recently discovered the location of where the Monarchists headquarters is. So what I propose is we have some of your officers and some of my men hide out nearby and wait until he arrives with her. We both get what we want here, I get Atsil Ani’-Wah’ and you get your terrorist. How does that sound?”
Darrin finally broke his stare by leaning forward and pressing a button on his office phone. A moment later Kunadgadoga's Cambric escort stepped into the room, ready to tend to their charge. The warmth returned to Darrin's eyes and he stood with a smile.
"I'll be seeing you soon, Meistros Quasena." He walked around the desk and shook Kunagadoa's hand again. "May the Lady watch you." Darrin nodded to the guards and returned to his deskchair.
As Kunagadoga was escorted out of the building, his mind was stirring with what Darrin could have meant.
Was that a yes? Wha-what did he mean?! I am guessing it is a yes but what in the world was that man! I couldn’t read him at all and I made my living off of reading people! Well, at least I know he is competent and that the execution of this plan will go off without much of an issue.
At this point Kuna was standing with his mercenaries outside of the building and he entered the limo that was waiting for him.
“How did it go sir?”  asked an aid in the limo,
“He beat the hell out of me,” Kuna said as he whipped his brow, “he was the most intimidating man I have ever spoken to. He savaged me, mentally, in there.” He then put his head in his hands as the limo drove to the airport for the flight back to Zoran.

Sultan Arifiyyah's Birthday Celebration
           A celebration of the birthday of Sultan Arifiyyah IV, Sultan Arif Nazhim Shah was held on 22 April 1421 at the Royal Grand Palace of Arifiyyah. The celebration was held to celebrate the birthday of the youngest Sultan, who turns 16 this year.
Although the celebration is held during the month of Ramadhan, which is the month of fasting, it is still enlivened with the sound of nobat, cultural performances and parade ceremonies of the National Security Agency (Soldiers, Police etc). Tuanku Sultan also agreed to attend the national level congregational iftar ceremony at Shah Bandar square also for his birthday.

Arrival of new assets of the Royal Arifiyyah Army  
A total of 10 new Maxtopia-made tanks arrived at the Banda Baharu military base at 11.30 am yesterday. The government bought 10 tanks with Maxtopia's latest technology called Taurus-m177. The purchase of these new assets will further increase the strength of our country’s army.
"The purchase of these new assets from Maxtopia will not only increase our military strength, but also strengthen diplomatic relations between the two countries," said defense minister Dato Seri Mohd Salah in an interview yesterday.

National Eid Celebration In Arifiyyah

The melody of takbir praising the greatness of Allah swt has echoed in all mosques in Arifiyyah. Similarly, at the Sultan Arif Royal Mosque, which was attended by more than 18000 Muslim congregations consisting of Muslims and Muslim women. Takbir was led by His Majesty Al-Wathiqu billah Sultan Arif Nazhim Shah. Tuanku Sultan also consented to deliver a sermon after the Aidilfitri prayers.
More than 30,000 people have visited the royal open house at the Arifiyyah Royal Palace. His Majesty the Sultan was accompanied by Prime Minister Arifiyyah, the highly esteemed Tan Sri Dato Haji Rais Zuhdi in a donation handover ceremony to asnaf residents and orphans in Medina Arif.

Đe Kaiser - A typical performance really. A six on his first bat showed everyone that he still had it. The next few bats showed everyone that he really didn't.
Yomiel Stasyuk - Arguably the star performer for Hertfordia Heathens, needing the equivalent of 25 bats to reach a score of 55. Not bad for a so-called dead man walking. If anyone is wondering about the fact that he clearly got 18 runs with 0, that is possible in cricket. We found that out a few hours earlier.
Diego Adamov - Didn't exactly take things quickly. One run at a time here, not quite ideal for high run scoring.
Patchouli Knalide - The librarian of knowledge and shade, if not Yomiel then she was the top performer. Scoring 7 fours and 2 sixes, meaning she needed just 9 runs to make 40, before her progress screeched to a halt. No wonder, this 'Eastern style Western magician' is actually rather sickly and probably wasn't feeling well. Again.
Faust Ḩarełeudeiem - This guy probably wasn't expecting the arrival and flag plant debacle, so wasn't really on point when he came late on. If he was, we might have won this match. Still, he was still in by the time our allocated innings, and 20 overs, had concluded.
Dynamis Dudka: Didn't do much to help his case, either in selection for cricket matches or convincing his colleagues that the 'will of the heavens' actually exists. A solitary 4 was a highlight of the match though.
Derek Sokolov - Done almost nothing at all and just as well, for a citizen had become gravely injured just outside the stadium in a crash. We can report that he succeeded in the on-site operation.
Reimu Hadjieva - One name for Hertfordshire and Jammbo's cricket team is the Hertfordia Shrine Maidens, which came 3rd in the poll behind Heathens & Snowstorm. Enter the actual shrine maiden, who was one of the better performers really despite only earning 10 runs. That score isn't likely to help earn any shrine donations, what little she ever sees anyway.
Yuuya Kovalchuk - The solitary run followed by a lorry full of nothing. Unlike Derek, he had no excuse for that pitiful display.
Patrick Manev - Done rather well when he came on near the end. Consistent, but what looked like a clear six was cancelled with a superb catch right at the edge by a Cambrian fielder. Well done to that guy, through gritted teeth might we add. Despite the performance then, he had almost nothing to show for it.
 
So, if you are confused about this new reporting format, here we are to explain it. Each cricket result we have will receive the most complicated looking scoreboard we have ever seen as well as judgements on each of the batters that took part. We will also have the wicket takers, those who were successful in dismissing the opposition players below the main scoreboard itself. Do not ask us to report on it like the rugby and football lot do, because we know the square root of nothing about cricket. That, and also because if we did, the report would have the same levels of boredom as one of Prime Minister Clarkov's explanations. Death by boredom would be appropriate.
Anyway, as you all saw, we were narrowly defeated by the larger of the two Astorian nations, Tara & Cambray Cambria by 4 wickets. This is because Cambria surpassed our score by a single run with 4 wickets (that's 4 batters) to spare. They achieved this target with 5 bats remaining, so it really was crunch time when the final over of the second innings began. In our next match we shall do battle with Teralyon who were defeated by, er, Blue Bubble? Glenpavia? Oh whatever you get what we mean. So we shall see you on the next report. Also, we thought we would also give you results from other matches but in a way that will brighten up your days back in the dismal cold place we call home after our unfortunate loss. Never mind that the scores are already on display!

The Larxian National Team went on to face the Adaikesian National Team in their first match in the T20 World Cup. The 92,000 capacity stadium was almost full for the match between Larxia and United Adaikes. The crowd containes seas of blue jersey and there were a few green jerseys, mostly concentrated in the lower eastern block of the stadium.
The toss was won by the Larxian captain, who decided that he wanted to bowl first. The Adaikesian team had to bat first. "It just looks like a pitch that would help a bowler more in the earlier hours of the match. I would expect it to be a comparatively low scoring match, with the bowlers giving amazing performances," Virat Kohli said, when asked why he chose to bowl first.
The match started with 2 Adaikesian batsmen in the middle. Bumrah opened the bowling along with Boult. Both of these bowlers bowled really well, with Bumrah registering figures of 3-19 in 4 overs and Boult registering 1-14 in 4 overs. While the bowlers were not very successful, in terms of wickets taken, they did manage to restrict the Adaikesians to a mere 132 runs scored in 20 overs, at an average of 6.6 runs per over. The team was extremely formidable in the field, with only 1 misfield in the whole match. Rabada had a match to forget after registering figures of 0-29 in 4 overs.
There was a small break of 20 minutes between the two innings for the players to rest. The crowd was consumed with excitement, so much so that they didn't even realise that the break was 20 minutes long.
The second innings began with Kohli and Sharma in the middle. Both of them played really well, racking up a partnership of 65 runs in just 7 overs in the middle. The match looked to be going well for Larxia, until Kohli got out, scoring 23 runs, making the score 65/1. After Kohli got out, most of the batting order collapsed, scoring in single figures before getting out, only 1 batsman crossed the 10 run mark. The score went form 65/1 to 98/6. While the batting order was collapsing on the other end, Rohit Sharma was playing a Vice-Captain's innings, holding down the fort, and taking Larxia towards a victory. Sharma carried Larxia close to victory. The score was 127/6 in 14 overs. Larxia needed 6 runs in 6 overs. Sharma faced the next ball, which he dispatched into the stands for a maximum, winning the game for Larxia with almost 6 overs to spare. Sharma batted really well, scoring 89 runs in the innings. 
The losing captain was interviewed on the podium, followed by the winning captain. Then they announced Rohit Sharma as the man of the match. He was given a little trophy and a cheque for 20,000 dollars.
Elsewhere Santos-Dominius managed to get a 93 run victory against Denieria in their first match of the tournament. It will be interesting to see how the in-form Larxia fare against Denieria in the second match.
 

ETYMOLOGY 
The name Arifiyyah is taken from the founder of the Sultanate of Arifiyyah, Sultan Arif I. The name Arifiyyah was inspired by the names of a few kingdoms irl such as the Abbasid(Abbasiyyah in Arabic spell)sultanate, the Ottomans(Uthmaniyyah in Arabic spell),Ayyubid(Ayubiyyah in Arabic spell)and others.

Sultan Arifiyyah's Birthday Celebration
           A celebration of the birthday of Sultan Arifiyyah IV, Sultan Arif Nazhim Shah was held on 22 April 1421 at the Royal Grand Palace of Arifiyyah. The celebration was held to celebrate the birthday of the youngest Sultan, who turns 16 this year.
Although the celebration is held during the month of Ramadhan, which is the month of fasting, it is still enlivened with the sound of nobat, cultural performances and parade ceremonies of the National Security Agency (Soldiers, Police etc). Tuanku Sultan also agreed to attend the national level congregational iftar ceremony at Shah Bandar square also for his birthday.
