Fhaengshia reacted to Zoran in 1st World Cup of Football [rosters, roleplays, results]
    Zoranian Times Live!
On the screen Quiyakaso looks disheveled and is covered in white feathers from what can only be assumed to be from the Dilberian seagulls. He sighed before speaking in a monotone voice,
"Hello Zoran, I am Quiyakaso and I am here to report the past few matches because I was too busy being attacked by drugged up seagulls that followed me from Dilber. Now with that out of the way, let's look at the match against Arrifiyah, out team lost 1-0 after a blade in one of the keeper's shoes went off and embedded itself into the field, causing the keeper to fall over and be unable to block the incoming ball. The Zoranian team congratulates Arrifiyah on their victory. Then in last night's match, our team lost to Recuecn 0-2 after our team failed to control the midfield and were defeated by Recuecn's offensive. The team also congratulated Recuecn on their victory, but rumor has it that the NACZ is not pleased with the team's performance or their political statements that they have been making recently. I asked the coach how he felt about the teams performance he replied with a simple shrug. But when asked what he is going to do to ensure the team progresses in the tournament he responded by saying, 'We will win by any means necessary, we aren't just going to beat the team, we are going to decommission them...permanently.' The members of the Zoranian team do not seem to agree with the coach's statement saying that they will play to the best of their abilities and that all they care about in the end is the game and their countrymen."
Quiyakaso pulls out his phone for a second only for it to start filling up with Nieubasrian ads.
"Damn it! This is what happens when I decide to stop paying for ad blockers! Grrr now it will take me hours to close them all out!"
Quiyakaso continues to grumble about the Nieubasrian ads until the NACZ logo appears on the screen.

Fhaengshia reacted to Larxia in 1st World Cup of Football [rosters, roleplays, results]
Pallandole opened the first half but the scoring was opened by Larxia. Silva puts a through ball to Garcia, who chips it over the keeper to make it 1-0 in the 27th minute. The rest of the half goes by without any goals, though both teams came very close to scoring.
In the second half, Larxia controlled the play most of the time. Pallandole manage to get it through the sturdy Larxian defense. They make it 1-1 in the 62nd minute. The coach takes Aviero out of play in the 80th minute. Fati takes his place on the field. Fati cuts in from the left wing and curls it in towards the top right corner. It's in. Fati makes it 2-1 in the 88th minute. Smart substitution by Guardiola. You can see the King cheering them on with pride. The 4th official indicates 4 minutes of stoppage time. That's the final whistle. Larxia wins two goals to one. The second win for Larxia in the World Cup sees them rising to the top of Group B.

    HT: LXA 1-0 PAL
    FT: LXA 2-1 PAL

We managed to snag a chance to talk to King Maddy IV. On being asked how he felt seeing Larxia perform, he said," It is definitely a matter of pride to watch Larxia just perform on the international stage, and what fills me with even more pride is that they are performing very well. It feels good to see that the money being invested in sports infrastructure is benefitting our nation's athletes. I'm confident in our team. I'll only ask every Larxian to pray that the team does very well in the tournament, and come here. They will feel good if there are Larxian fans in the stands," he further added," I know that many Larxians have come here to watch them play, but who doesn't like having more fans in the stadium.
Larxia will face fellow Andolian nation Fhaengshia in the last game of the group stages. Fhaengshia have been in great form as well as they sit in second place with 6 points. This match will determine who wins Group B. So let's pray for a Larxian victory.

Over and over again, investigators examining international criminal networks point to a common thread -- the ease with which many in the network travel the world using fake passports or illegally obtained immigration documents.
Jens Meklinbourg, the focus of this report, was somewhat of an expert in fake passports. As an operative for GETEFRAN, he used a counterfeit Deneirian passport to enter Nieubasria and apply for political asylum. While living there, he supplied forged passports to other contacts in his network - some of the known forgeries include Kurabian, Fujansk, and Alcheran. And he used a fake Basric passport under the alias of Aldwin Ealdwin in his failed attempt to enter the United Kingdom of Tara and Cambray to orchestrate a chemical attack at an industrial facility.
At the 1420 trial, Meklinbourg testified that he was trained in these and other security-avoidance techniques at a training camp in Central Andolia. He also testified that a GETEFRAN representative had recruited him to supply the group with falsified passports.
The picture of GETEFRAN that is emerging through Meklinbourg's case and ongoing investigations is of a sophisticated terrorist network, able to send "sleeper" agents like Meklinbourg anywhere in the world. GETEFRAN depends on the ability to travel internationally in order to raise funds, recruit operatives, train the operatives in Central Andolia and send them out to plan and conduct terrorist attacks or further build a network within a target country. Key to their international mobility is being able to circumvent immigration laws and law enforcement watch lists.

Investigators believe that there may be specialized GETEFRAN and other international criminal cells operating in Polaris and Aura whose goalb is to supply passports and other documents that can be used by its operatives. There are various ways they obtain and use passports:
The terrorist can physically alter a valid passport -- stolen or purchased from an accomplice -- by changing the picture or biographical data.  In some countries, terrorists may be able to purchase an official passport in their own name, or an alias, by bribing a corrupt official or obtaining one in the black market. Stolen passports may be readily available for sale in most countries. The terrorist can make a counterfeit passport, hoping that the border agent wouldn't be able to identify the forgery.  There's another angle on the trafficking in fake passports. Investigations by Basric and Cambric officials revealed relationships between terrorists and organized criminal syndicates who smuggle humans across borders. It is a huge international business, with brokers in poor countries demanding up to 250,000฿ per person in order to smuggle people into Nieubasria and other developed nations. To avoid detection, the smugglers are constantly changing their routes and methods. Some also rely on huge numbers of fake passports, routing people through as many as two other countries to hide the country of origin. "The terrorists have made common cause with 'people smugglers' who are very good at supplying false documentation," says Leo Laine, a director of the Centre for the Prevention of Human Trafficking. "It gives the terrorists a ready source of altered counterfeit passports and, if needed, the smugglers may assist them in being smuggled into the target country."

The Meklinbourg case illustrated how easily terrorists can enter Nieubasria and other developed nations. Meklinbourg got into Nieubasria on a clearly doctored Deneirian passport and avoided detention simply by applying for asylum. Since Meklinbourg's arrest, at least two other suspected terrorists have been detained in Nieubasria; both had entered as asylum seekers. Many other suspected or prospective terrorists have entered countries by manipulating immigration laws.
Since the "Papers, Please" incident, Nieubasria has decided to spend hundreds of millions of basmarks to beef up internal security and add agents to the border and ports of entry. They are also changing the asylum process so that applicants must undergo background checks before they can stay in the country. The Basrians are also attempting to centralize the terrorist "watch lists" between Intelligence Agencies in order to keep better track of suspects.
The Basric Government also inaugurated the Multinational Working Group Regarding Passport Security and Travel Document Standards as an attempt to combat the sources of foreign fraud and increase the overall strength of the international travel document security system.
National security expert Graham Todor says the Hier is discussing a number of proposals that were originally introduced by the Basric Astorian Peoples’ Party in 1402 but were tabled at the end of session. These proposals include:
Denial of entry to anyone who has supported or joined or is suspected of having supported or joined a terrorist organization, A mandate for information sharing between Intelligence Services and Immigration Services,  Creating or joining international watch lists for terror and organized crime,  Computerized systems to track visa holders,  Additional support for officials to conduct background checks on all visa applicants.  These proposals were opposed by free-trade organizations, immigrant support groups, universities and privacy advocates in the past because they would add time and paperwork to those attempting to enter Nieubasria legitimately and could affect foreign trade. Since Meklinbourg, however, most of the opposition has been removed and new laws governing immigration could pass The Esquiry by the end of the year.
"I know we cannot possibly catch every terrorist or criminal entering our borders," Todor states, "but if perhaps we apprehend one or two, we might be able to unravel the whole network."

We had to work for it today. Pallandole were better than expected and we got sloppy. We got the win but we should’ve won by a larger margin. Safdli and Lartoih are leading defence practice tonight while Jafhaena and I watch the matches of other high profile teams for strategy. We’re mainly watching the Polaris nations as expected. I’m feeling different about the Dalimbari after that match yesterday, I wouldn’t be surprised if any call for asylum. From what little I’ve been able to see so far, United Adaikes is a nice place, Jafnoettuo and Iotehps say it’s a bit like if Lower Gheffian had the money Fhaendhaw does. We got pushed to the top of the table and tomorrow seems like it should decide the ranks for the most part. I think Libterraria is the only team out of Doll Guldur. Jafhaena wants us to build momentum with a big win over them. Mirla says they’ll be ok for the match, but ankles don’t un-sprain overnight. Laenhe has been in good form and will be starting. Better rest up and if we win I’ll let myself have some of that nice pasta I’ve heard about.

United Adaikes survives Nagaraningrad scare, falls to 2nd place in the group despite the win.
The NNF surprised the Panthers and their fans when Jaka Wiranagara scored from a free kick in the 11th minute. The United Adaikes National Football Team had not scored in the first half but ensured strengthened defensive plays and better ball possession before the first half ended. Just five minutes after the start of the second half, Panthers captain Billy Jordan scored from an interception in the transition field during a counter-attack when he passed it forward to Kolton Dale only to return it to Jordan for a powerful kick to goal inside the penalty area. The woes from the visiting Nagaranites continued when Collin Maddox scored a header from a Van Burgess cross in the 67th minute and never let them possess the ball again in the remainder of the game. With that loss, the Nagaraningrad National Football fell to 5th place and hope to bounce back in their remaining games to ensure a seat in the knock-out rounds.

Fhaengshia reacted to Dalimbar in 1st World Cup of Football [rosters, roleplays, results]
One of the big questions of the tournament so far has been.... Who is even part of the Dalimbari squad? Why, after their success in rugby, are they so tight lipped?
The answer to that is [REDACTED]. Football is considered to be an inferior sport in Dalimbar compared to rugby, and played more in the recently acquired territories in the east compared to the heartland. The Dalimbari Football League was instructed to put a team together, yet there is concern over the... loyalties of some members of the squad. As a result, the Dalimbari Stavka quietly decreed that the names of the squad would be withheld until each member's loyalties were proven. With victory.
Victory was arranged on day 1 and a draw on day 2 saw the Dalimbari squad keep their pole position in their group. The team is under constant monitoring to ensure loyalty.

You know that feeling when, for just a couple moments after waking up, you have no idea where you are or how you got there?
Unusually bright morning sun glinting off bleach-white linens, your glasses just a little further away than you're used to.
Your eyes slowly adjusting to the light and the view out the window becoming more familiar.
It is weird how fast a hotel room can feel like a fey version of home. Everything is just slightly different, but strangely comforting - like a hug from a childhood friend you haven't seen in years. Years collapse into days as the estrangement breaks down; seconds become minutes as the illusion of the person you remember dissolves as you embrace the person you no longer know.

A yawn, stretch, and a grunt. The floor coalesces under the feet of Cadi Conor as she stares out of the window to the oddly mesmerizing morning flow of the traffic on one of Perthdoches' arterials. She blinks as though she can will the sleep from her eyes and pads her way silently past the man sleeping on the couch. A light handkerchief resting over his face, fully dressed in a now-wrinkled suit save for the jacket laid carefully on the table next to an array of photos and documents worthy of a conspiracy documentary.
Cadi flicks the small coffee pot on her way to the bathroom and quietly closes the door. Not one to be left with her thoughts, Cadi pops in her waterproof ear buds and turns up the music.
That flashing blue light. That office. That ALARM. They take up any empty space Cadi leaves in her head. Any space not taken up by that note, that is. Images of cut out letters flash whenever she closes her eyes. They were burned into her brain, having stared at it so long. Don't move. Don't breath too deeply. Wait. Wait for the "professionals". We were supposed to BE the professionals. Cadi abruptly turns the shower to cold. Shock takes up enough space, at least for a little while. She reaches for the lotion and dollops some of the white face cream into her hand - and just stares for a moment. She wipes it off on a towel and exits the bathroom. The man isn't on the couch, and she freezes in place.

"Good morning Naz" she calls out into the room, tentatively. Her eyes instinctively dart to her side table to confirm her gun was still there. Listening, the sound of coffee pouring eases her slightly.

Naz clears his throat, and from around the corner he says "Morning Ms. Conor". Too formal for the amount of time they've been working so closely, Cadi thought. Clad in a towel, Cadi retrieved her coffee.  "I think I may have found something last night in your father's accounts. I am waiting to hear back from my contacts in the Air Force to see if this goes anywhere."

Today I met the Director of the Cultural Commission, she wanted to wish the team well in the upcoming World Cup. The old granite buildings filled with government employees were a part of Fhaendhaw I didn’t go to often, the twisting streets were an invitation to get lost. Luckily my driver new the place well. Tomorrow I’ll be landing in the United Adaikes’ new sports precinct, I’ve seen pictures and it’s a far cry from the labyrinth I was in today. I hope my Common is up to scratch for the northerners, but I’ll be spending most of my time with Jafhaena planning out the group stage strategies.
    ———
It’s been a rush, the atmosphere’s been amazing but each night I arrive in my hotel exhausted. The match against Giovanniland went alright, could’ve been better, but could’ve been worse too. We held them off in the first half nicely right up to to last couple minutes when their AM scored. We were able to get even in the second half and stall till the end. Then we faced down Dalimbar, we all hear stories about what goes on in that wasteland, and it scares the kids at home, but facing real Dalimbari is another thing. It felt good. We held the line against them just as we planned and did better than hoped honestly, especially after that hell of a match between them and Larxia. A draw against the group favourite is good, there’s a couple teams I think we can get points from so that should see us to the knockouts. But one match at a time. Need to sleep for tomorrow against Pallandole, they haven’t scored yet and we won’t give them any chances.

    Campaign Report:
    26 June, 1420
Began with a push from north of the province, 20,000 men crossed the border into corporate territory. We were able to use guerilla tactics to ambush a few mercenary patrols and steal some supplies. Our scouts were able to mark some mercenary camps where we divided out men and struck at them simultaneously, falling back to lure them deeper into the jungle so we could regroup and use the jungle to our advantage. This resulted in some casualties on our side but we dealt a massive blow to corporate forces in the province. However, there was an unexpected theocratic assault on the province as well so we had quite a few of them to deal with.
One particular soldier showed some impressive prowess on the battlefield, using only a compound bow and a sword to go behind enemy lines to capture a few soldiers prisoner from smaller enemy camps. When asked how he was able to accomplish this seemingly stupidly rash feat he responded saying, “When a man is able to sneak into your camp, kill five of your friends in the night, and rushes you with a sword and starts yelling at you to get on the ground, would you challenge them?” His name is Tagwadihi Sitsameho and he has gained some recognition and admiration among the troops. I believe it would be wise to keep an eye on him for the future.
Ultimately, after a month and a few days of surprise attacks, raids, and pushing we were able to drive the corporates out of the province and have begun sending men out across the province to secure our control. However, this campaign was not without civilian casualties. A few innocent men, women, and children were caught in the crossfire in a few towns and some were blown up by those bloody Dalimbari landmines. While our men also fell victim to them, seeing a child being blown up in front of your eyes is a whole other feeling. Other people have been displaced by the conflict, exact numbers are unknown. As we gain control over the province we shall begin sweeping for mines in order to make it safer for the people. A provisional government for the province has been established until the people are organized enough to send a representative to the civilian legislative council.
We lost about 600 men in this campaign and approximately 50 are MIA. We also have 130 prisoners, 80 from the corporate mercenaries and 50 from the theocrats.

Fhaengshia reacted to Giovanniland in 1st World Cup of Football [rosters, roleplays, results]
"Good morning viewers from Giovanniland and the world! I am Vanessa Desniana and will be your Giovannilandian Football Report host during the 1st World Cup of Football." She briefly stops for a moment in order to show the landing airplane in which our team is coming. "Watch out! Our football team has just arrived here in Steskia, United Adaikes, and soon they will be preparing for their first game against The Reds from Fhaengshia, which will take place at the Sports Arena of Steskia."
    *landing airplane noises*
"Oh, look! Our team's airplane has just landed and the players can be seen disembarking. First our main goalkeeper Klaudio Spindola, then the backup goalkeepers... now the defenders, then the midfielders, and finally the strikers!" A fair number of fans cheer from afar when the three main strikers appear—Gustavo Zapata, Pietro Takeda, and Klementina de Abreo-Floryo—which are among the youngest members of the Esquadra Nationale and also rising celebrities on social media. "At last the entire team has disembarked and is now entering the inner airport, where they will then travel to a training site near Steskia to prepare for their game."
*Vanessa disappears from the screen and the renowned sports TV presenter Karlo Nakamura-Edrense appears*
"We've just had live coverage of our national team arriving in United Adaikes," says Karlo while more information about the Giovannilandian team appears on the screen. "Now back in Giovanniland, you will now see interesting information about the Esquadra Nationale! Our team is part of Group B together with the nations of Pallandole, Larxia, Dalimbar, Libterraria, and Fhaengshia. As my colleague Vanessa said earlier, we'll be playing all the group stage games at the Sports Arena in the city of Steskia, and our first game will be against the Andolian nation of Fhaengshia." The screen then switches to display other interesting data. "There will be 5 matchdays during the group stage, and Giovanniland needs to stay in the top four of the group in order to advance to the knockout stage. Then there will be a round of 16, quarterfinals, semifinals, and finally the coveted Final and the 3rd Place Match."
Karlo then pauses a second time, now to show the revealed Giovannilandian lineup for the first game against Fhaengshia. "Our coach Tiberio Levino has chosen a 3-3-4 lineup for this game! He also could move Gabriella Orfeo from the midfield to the attack to form a 3-2-5 if needed, though I assume this will only be needed if Fhaengshia scores but Giovanniland doesn't," he commented.
The lineup then disappears from the screen, and Karlo finishes: "That is all for today! Tomorrow we will prepare a special report on the Giovannilandian match against The Reds from Fhaengshia. See you then!"

And the host for the 1st World Cup of Football is..

The Federal Republic of United Adaikes
The Federal Republic of United Adaikes is a nation found in the eastern-northeastern part of Polaris, bordering Marisalia in the north and northwest, and Tara and Cambray in the west. The sixth most-populous country in the continent with about 14 million Adaikesians, the federal government convenes in its capital, Adaikes Central in the Adaikes region.

Figure 1. The nations in Polaris with the inclusion of Dilber from Aura

The nation is divided administratively in 8 regions, Adaikes (the national capital), Ludsport, Mille-mer (East Mille-mer and West Mille-mer), Ngadabrigg, Saymacrell, Thraproy, and Thurhope. The islands-regions do not have cities and are managed by the regional government. After an investment by the federal and regional government a few years ago, they have designated Thraproy as the Sports Capital of the United Adaikes.

Figure 2. The regions in United Adaikes

Thraproy has five (5) cities, Fort Bloom, Neojunc, Perthdoches, Steskia (the regional capital), and Wrarnerbadshot. Sportstown is found in the greater and central Steskia, and to uphold the name of the Sports Capital in the country, stadiums, courts and other playing venues of every known sport can be seen around the whole region.

Please do not post in this thread if you are not a participant. Also, no OOC posts, please.
Welcome to the 1st World Cup of Football! If you are a participant, you can start posting about your nation's football (soccer) team (logo, players, kits, and any other related information). You can also post about your team's preparations for this inaugural event!
Another important thing to include in your roster post is the "role play permissions". If you want to role play while making sure that the other RPer(s) won't do inevitable things you don't want to happen to your team, you can post these below outlining what the other RPers can or cannot do, for example:
    Injure my players: yes/no
Assign my players yellow cards: yes/no
Assign my players red cards: yes/no
    Godmod injuries: yes/no
    Godmod scoring: yes/no
    Godmod other events: yes/no
The last three permissions, godmodding, is the role playing unrealistic or unbelievable things happening. So if you want a more realistic experience for your team (and what we hopefully want in the games for the duration of the tournament), you can ask other RPers not to godmod in your matches. You can also add, leave, or remove any role permissions you want. It's your team, so we will let you dictate the way your team plays (as long as it is realistic).
Also, you can include what we call a "style modifier". This is a number between -5 and +5, which indicates if you are a defensive (leaning to negative numbers) or an offensive (leaning to positive numbers) team. However, this won't affect your chance of victory. If you also don't put one, you'll automatically get a neutral modifier (0.00), and that is just fine.
There are also some teams that are not citizens and are not in the map. This announcement will tell you that it might be hard raking up the wins. The teams who are citizens and are in the map can (emphasize on can, not are) be ensured of a win if they face a team who is not a citizen and is not in the map. Certain handicaps are also in place for those waiting for their applications to be accepted in citizenship and/or a place in the map. However, it has been evident that the scorinator can still give surprises in the results it gives for every match (trust me when I say, a newcomer in an international rugby competition managed to eliminate the defending champions and snagged 3rd place).
If you have any questions, you can always ask me in Discord or in the OOC thread. If you forgot where that is, it is here:

Fhaengshia reacted to Zoran in The Zoranian Civil War
    May 3, 1420
    6:45 AM Over Time
A day after Waholi sent out the call, generals of the monarchist cause gathered at the central headquarters to discuss the future of the war. Waholi is the highest ranking general there and is the de facto leader of the faction until they find Atsil. Their main concerns that they are going to address are Atsil’s location, the bombing of Zoradia, organization of the government until they find Atsil, and plans for the offensive.
“Ladies and gentlemen, thank you for heading my call. The war has begun and already there has been a tragedy. The bombing of Zorardia, which is still going on, is a waste of resources and a tragedy for all Zoranians. For now we cannot do much, all we can do is stay away from the city. But we have another pressing matter that we need to address.” He directs everyone’s attention to a tv screen he has on a stand that shows the video of Atsil being escorted away by CGZ.
“Atsil Ani’-Wah’, the current head of the Ani’-Wah’ family and the person we, along with a majority of the people who support our cause, believe should rule the country as queen, is currently in an unknown location. CGZ’s ‘mythical’ and illusive hideout is where she is most likely located but no one knows its location. We have tried scouts, intelligence, tracking, etc. to try and locate her to no avail. So I had no choice but to look towards a more supernatural means of locating her.” One of the generals, General Nilesa, chuckled at this,
“Waholi, I didn’t take you for a spiritual man. I know you are religious but I didn’t take you to be the person who would turn to something so unrealistic.” Waholi looked at them with a stern gaze before they spoke,
“Neither did I until we ran into a dead end. I had no choice but to accept the assistance of the Saint Markian seers in locating her.” The whole room burst into laughter until another general spoke,
“With all due respect sir, resorting solely on something as ‘mystical’ as seers does not seem to inspire much confidence in us.” Waholi nodded in an understanding manner,
“While I understand that sentiment, we have no choice. Tell me, has any of you found a lead that would let us find Atsil?” The laughter died down as the question was asked and all the generals sat in silence and with slight embarrassment at the fact that they had no better lead on the whereabouts of Atsil.
“Exactly as I thought,” said Waholi with a smirk on his face, “according to the Saint Markan seers, Atsil is not in danger with CGZ, in fact she plans on leaving from hiding soon. But she is in danger from the ‘basket weaver’s son,’ whoever that is. So there is a chance Atsil is coming out of hiding but we cannot be certain on that. If she does come back then we must be ready to protect her and bring her here. I believe everyone knows the procedure that should occur.” The generals in the room nodded, all of them knew what they must do if Atsil is found, they will do as much as they can to be sure she is safe and that she is with them.
“Good, keep your men on the lookout and tell your scouting parties to keep their eyes peeled for any signs of her return. Now, we must get onto the issue of the actual government organization until she returns.” Waholi then pulled out a manilla folder with documents detailing how the provisional government would run.
“I suggest that we let the people have a voice in our affairs too. But, we cannot let them have a voice in sensitive issues that require secrecy. So we have them send representatives to a public building where they can make some decisions until we get Atsil here to form an official government.”
“But sir,” said a younger general, General Quvmate, “why are we letting Atsil form the new government entirely? Sure we want her to be queen but that seems like a bit of an odd idea to me.” His comment was followed by a few agreeing nods in the room,
“Well, Atsil has been studying political sciences in university. She also has experience through the internship she was doing under her father before this mess started. She is also a bright woman whose actions remind me of her father. While my faith in her is somewhat based on the idea that she might be like her father, I still firmly believe that it should be up to the future queen to create the government. We are all just men and women who know of military strategy, with a basic understanding of politics. That is why we form a provisional government with civilian representation to help legislate and make decisions while we deal with the conflict. What we need to do is send people to different parts of the country that we control and spread word to vote on a representative for the Zoranians in that district. From there we can have some order and support from the people while also providing services to those in need. Does anyone have any objections to this idea?”
The room was quiet as the generals looked at each other to see their reaction to this plan. None of them had any better ideas so they did not object to this plan. All of them knew that they could not win a war without support from the people and as the most popular faction in this war, they had to ensure that they take care of the people and build further support in the country. With no objections Waholi nodded before bringing up a map of the country on the screen.
“Now we must discuss our plan for the war. I believe that our biggest threat is the Corporates. After the Divine Shaman’s denouncement of the religious fanatics they will lose any support that they possibly had and will collapse within a few months. The GDC is disorganized, corrupt, and wasting resources on the bombing of Zoradia. So the corporates are our biggest adversary. Should the theocrats collapse, I believe that the corporates will take control of the province to the east. I say we prevent them from having a connected territory on the northern island in advance by attempting to take the province they control to the south. We already have men in the territory we control on the southern border of that province so we can attack them on two fronts.” Waholi said as he pointed at the provinces he was referring to with a stick.
“What about the two theocratic provinces to the southwest of one of our northernmost provinces? If the theocrats collapse as you say then shouldn’t we send men there to secure control as soon as possible?” said General Quvmate.
“Yes, in fact I will let you lead the offensive on those two provinces. Make sure to avoid civilian casualties as often as possible.” said Waholi. The generals further discussed their plans for the war.

    Signups and OOC
Welcome to the 1st World Cup of Football for TWP and its nations as we bring the most popular sport in the world right here in our forums! For those that have been participants of previous sports roleplay (the Rugby World Cups, the College Football games, and the 1st Summer Olympics, among others), then you know there will be something like this. For those that have not, don't you worry!
To enter the 1st World Cup of Football, just add a reply to this topic by saying "I want to sign up for the 1st World Cup of Football", or anything along the lines there. Though, same with the RMB, we won't allow double posting (except for me to post my intentions in signing up ). You can always edit your reply at any given time how many times you want. Also, this thread is for signups and OOC (out of context) posts, like questions about the tournament. If you don't like asking questions here, you can ask them in #world_cup_2021 in our RP Discord server or message me there directly. The IC (in context) thread where we will be posting our nations' team information (players, kits, logo, anything related to such), roleplay (preparations, match day events), and results will be separate and shall have the link be announced in Discord or can be viewed here in our forums starting 2/19/2021.
Also, I will be scorinating this tournament, but if you want your country to host the 1st World Cup of Football IC, signify the same in your reply for signing up (only if you have a place in the map). A little bit of something new from the previous versions of role play, we will be assigning responsibilities for the nation that will host this World Cup (to be selected on 2/19/2021, announced on 2/20/2021). Prepare at least four (4) stadiums (with seat capacity, if available) in cities in your country. Additional responsibilities are given in the Discord post about this one and more will be discussed upon your selection.
Bids for hosting will be accepted until 2/17/2021 at 8 PM ET, while signups will close on 2/18/2021 at 8 PM ET.
That's all for now. Confused about how we will be doing this? New with scorinating? Taking a page from Resu's book, read below.

President Paul R. Goldberg barely wins re-election, beats Sen. Jeremy A. Maxson by razor-thin margin
Today, in what was widely described as the greatest political upset in the history of Santos-Dominius, President Paul Goldberg of the centre-right Democratic Coalition Party(DCB) won re-election, beating an extraordinarily strong and spirited challenge from Senator Jeremy Maxson(WS) of the centre-left Country Liberal Party(CLP), which was heavily favoured to take control of the Fribernese Fortress throughout the entire duration of the campaign. As polling stations opened in the early hours of election day, President Goldberg managed to consistently gain votes at a steady pace as Sen. Maxson underperformed expectations and saw terrible turnout among the mail-in voting demographic, which leans heavily CLP and tends to be counted the earliest.
As the day went on, Sen. Maxson pulled ahead several times as President Goldberg suffered from strong CLP turnout in the battleground swing cantons of Niedersasslen and especially Nordrhuin-Theronigen, where the President's lead shrunk to an abysmal 342 votes in what was called "the tightest cantonal race in all history". Sen. Maxson also suffered from low turnout in left-wing cantons like Lemandie, Framboise and Waldburg-Stadt, as well as voter apathy in important CLP strongholds like the cities of Roivivion, Louisann and Waldburg. At one point, upon looking at the results at a polling station in rural Lemandie, CLP vice presidential candidate Sen. Art Bernstein(LM) exclaimed: "my home canton has abandoned me for the President and the DCB!" Maxson purportedly did the same at his Waldburg home in Waldburg-Stadt, his home canton.
When night fell in Waldburg, the mood at the CLP election headquarters in the city's downtown slowly became sombre. It was becoming crystal clear, at the time, that Sen. Maxson would not be able to catch up to President Goldberg, who finally surpassed him in the popular vote an hour ago at 5pm. Leading in Niedersasslen and narrowly surpassing Sen. Maxson in Nordrhuin-Theronigen, President Goldberg had achieved what seemed impossible only a month ago - winning re-election, albeit by the smallest and thinnest of margins. He is expected to be sworn in, this time for his 3rd term, on February 16th. The final results of this presidential election have been provided below in detail.
