The King has issued a statement, saying that the stadium in New Larxia will undergo some renovations which will be ready in time for the finals of the T20 World Cup taking place here in Larxia. The King once again expresses his joy and enthusiasm that Larxia is hosting the 1st World Cup. He also expressed his gratitude to the International Council for accepting Larxia's bid to host the tournament.
Coming to the point of the renovations, the King's Circle Stadium in New Larxia will see a new VIP box being added to it for the finals of the World Cup. This luxurious, state-of-the-art viewing box will be called, One World VIP Box. This box will be exclusively designed for the World leaders. The VIP Box will include every luxury you could think of and it is being made with the safety of the World Leaders in mind.
The King would also like to officially invite the Heads of the State of the 16 participating nations to join him in the One World Box to watch the finals in New Larxia. The King hopes that the World Leaders will accept his invitation and usher in a new era of friendliness and co-operation.
On a side note, the King has seen some of the misfortunes of the Zoranian news reporter, Quiyakaso, and would like to ask him whether he needed any kind of extra security to maybe reduce the chances of something like this happening in Larxia.

The sun rises over the horizon as Quiyakaso adjusts his tie in a public bathroom of the New Larxia Airport. First sports broadcast of the new public news network of Zoran and his first day on the job. He hopes his luck has turned around and that nothing bad happens during his recording. He lets out a deep breath before making his way out of the bathroom and towards the terminal where the Zoranian team had arrived.
"Going live in 3...2...1..." The producer said as he motion for my broadcast to begin,
"Good morning people of Zoran! I am Quiyakaso Gohalitsve and welcome to the first live broadcast for the RNN's new sports news segment! We are live at the New Larxia Airport to witness the arrival of our cricket team! Many other teams have arrived the day before but our team's flight was delayed because of a storm over the airport last night that prevent them from taking off. Our team has high hopes for this world cup and despite the damage and disruption that the past year has caused, our team has been practicing in whatever way they could. They hope to bring home some glory to Zoran and its people to show that despite its recent troubles the country could still compete with the best in the international community! The Queen herself has wished the team the best of luck during this competition and that regardless of the outcome of this competition that the country will know they played the best they could." Behind him, the cricket team came walking out of the gate with smiles on their faces,
"And here they are now folks! The Zoranian Cricket team! They are excited to compete with other nations on the international stage to test their abilities with the best of the best. They have practiced in warzones, ruined fields, and the rainforests of Zoran and anywhere they could this past year in order to be in the best condition possible for this event. Instead of holding a parade, the team will be raising funds that they will donate to the various communities of Zoran that were the most affected by the war and for those that lost everything in the Desolation of Zoradia. We wish them luck in this task and look forward to seeing them play. Now let's go back to the news room to the current events section!" The broadcast ended and Quiyakaso let out a sigh of relief that something didn't go wrong for once. One of the interns came running to him with the coffee he requested earlier, he took it and thanked the intern before taking a drink and quickly spit it out onto the floor.
"This isn't what I ordered!" said Quiyakaso in a mildly annoyed tone,
"I know sir," said the intern, "the café said they discontinued your order a year ago." Quiyakaso fell to his knees and looked up at the ceiling as he yelled,
"NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!"

May 9th, 1421; 7 PM International Atomic Time
The captains of the 15 teams are present in the King's Circle Stadium in New Larxia for the opening ceremony of the 1st T20 World Cup. Unfortunately the Hertfordian Captain was delayed and he is not present here. Around 127,000 fans have come to attend the opening ceremony of this coveted tournament. The tournament will start tomorrow with the same fervour as the opening ceremony. There is a stage made in the centre of the ground, with 16 flag holders at the back and the national flags rolled up at the top of the stadium. There is a small podium covered by a cloth with the trophy underneath. "All the captains will be introduced and they will come to the stage and they will put their respective flags in their assigned places. Please give a huge cheer for all the captains and give them a warm welcome," the announcer said on the stadium speakers. The crowd roared in excitement.
Each captain gets on the stage and plants their flag to thunderous applause and loud cheers. As each captain gets up on the stage, the flags rolled up at the top of the stadium are unfurled and they hang from the top of the stadium sideways, fluttering freely in the breeze. Each captain is personally interviewed by the announcer to deafening cheers from the crowd. "Where is the Hertfordian captain? Where is he? Please tell me he wasn't kidnapped or anything," the announcer shrieked frantically. "Hold on, mhmm, we are getting news that their coach broke down, mhmm mhmm, Ohhh, and, wait WHAT? And apparently they are driving across the continent on tractors. Well, nothing we can do about it, so let us continue on with the ceremony." 
"Now the world-renowned top Larxian artist, Selena Cabello, will perform for the crowd. She will also be debuting the Official Song of the T20 World Cup. Make some noise and welcome SELENA CABELLOoOoO". Cabello performs for the crowd and ensures that they are very excited and lifts the energy of the crowd to another level. Some other artists like the famous Larxian DJ, DJ MaXXus, also perform a few sets for the crowd. As the performance ends, DJ MaXXus exclaims at the top of his lungs, "Now please welcome His Highness, KING MADDY IV!!!!! Make some noise in welcoming him to the stage."
King Maddy IV gets up on the stage and motions the people to be quiet for some time. He says enthusiastically, "Citizens of Larxia, it brings me great pleasure that Larxia is hosting the tournament. To the captains I say, this game is a very beautiful game, so my sole advice will be to enjoy the games you play here, have some fun in Larxia, but most importantly uphold the honour of the game. To the fans, I say, enjoy watching these amazing athletes compete for the trophy and go to the stadiums to support your team. It might not seem like much, but it definitely makes a difference, ask the captains. With that, I declare the First T20 World Cup here in the Democratic Republic of Larxia, open! And with that, I present to you, the trophy that the winning team will take home with them." King Maddy IV uncovers the trophy to be given to the Champions of the T20 World Cup.

The fans get extremely energised, and you can hear it in the loud chants and cheers as the fireworks go off in the stadium. King Maddy IV stays up on the stage to meet the captains individually and wish them luck in their World Cup Campaign. The King takes a little more time with the Larxian captain and gives him his blessing for the campaign. The King is escorted to the King's reserved box in the stadium to view the rest of the ceremony. Selena Cabello and DJ MaXXus continue the ceremony for awhile. The ceremony ends around 11 PM and the captains take their leave to rejoin their respective teams in their team hotels. The King also leaves by around 11.15 PM after meeting the dignitaries present for the opening ceremony.

The Great Empire of Larxia
The Great Empire of Larxia is a nation in the western part of Andolia, bordering Irador in the west, and Daskel in the South. It is the most-populous country in the continent with about 25.5 million Larxians. The Central Government convenes in the capital city of New Larxia. The climate is usually temperate with distinct seasons and bearable heat. The climate is a little oceanic in the west but gets a little extreme(continental) towards the Eastern border of the country.

 
Cities hosting the World Cup:
New Larxia- It is the capital city of the Great Empire of Larxia. With a population of 3.4 million, it is the most populated city in Larxia. It is located in close proximity to the sea, which makes it very important for marine trade.
Nexilia- It is the technological capital of Larxia. It is also known as the Silicon Valley of Larxia. Most of the tech firms in Larxia call this city their home. 
San Dojas- It is one of the most important cities for the sports in nation. It is a little sparsely populated compared to the other cities because it houses expansive, state of the art sports complexes.
La Marina- As the name suggests, it is close to marine life. It is famous for the marine life that cannot be experienced anywhere else. The main selling point of the tourism of La Marina is the lake we Larxians like to call the Lake Falcon.
Zancoudo- It is located in the  mountainous region in the North of Larxia. It is a small range but the the mountains are pretty high.This city houses the highest and the most beautiful stadium in the world and the views from the stadium are breathtaking.

Kunagadoga stands in his office looking out upon the city of Yemiduga, dark clouds loom overhead as rain drops fall upon the city of the Corporates. He is waiting for his team to arrive but they are running late, something which displeases him deeply.
I don't know why I keep surrounding myself with such incompetent people. I ask them to do one simple thing, arrive on time, and yet they manage to fuck that up. If they didn't have inside knowledge on our plans after this war I would fire them.
That was when the door to his office opened and three people, one male and two female, in water soaked suits entered the room panting.
"Sorry Mr. Kunagadoga, sir! We tried to get here as quickly as we could but the protestors kept getting in the way of our car!" said the man. Kuna did not turn around nor reply to what his excuse, leaving an uneasy silence in the room until he heard them walk closer to his desk and set something down on the table. That was when he actually turned around to face them,
"Let's get straight to business. I don't care about your excuses, you already cost me money by having me wait. Have you drafted up plans our plans for after the war?" said Kunagadoga,
"Yes, which would you like to see first. The reconstruction plan or Operation Lavandula Spica Incursio?" asked one of the women,
"The Operation, I already know the reconstruction plan well enough." answered Kunagadoga. The other women sorted through the papers and pulled out a map of Lavender Island to the south of Zoran.
"The biggest opposition we will face on the island is the Giovannilandians, despite having a small army they are well equipped. However, they lack actual combat experience, something which could be to our advantage. But we must be cautious considering they have more knowledge of the terrain there and they have homefield advantage."
"Thank you for stating the obvious Gadiya. Show me what actual invasion plan we have for the island."

"What kind of drawing is this?!" Kuna says as he gestures towards the map, "It looks like a five year old drew those lines!"
"Sir, you did ask us to make these plans only about two hours ago. It was hard to get ahold of our officers considering the recent campaigns." said the man. Kuna gave him a withering stare which immediately shut the man up. The man cleared his throat,
"Anyways, this is to depict the various parts of the Operation. From our southern most island, we will launch three naval invasions. One on the northern coast of Giovanniland, one on a nearby island to establish another base from where we will make landfall on directly southwest of the island, and the third on the northern coast of Blue Bubble. Our forces will secure a foothold on the land to allow for supplies to be sent to them. Meanwhile, once we acquire the Zoranian Navy, we will send them to blockade the southwestern coast of Giovanniland. By controlling the northern coast and blockading the south we will cut Giovanniland off from imports." Kuna nodded, pleased at what he was hearing, "From these footholds, we will start a push towards the inland, securing our control over the island as our men make our way inland. As we starve the people of Blue Bubble and Giovanniland, they will become desperate, weak, and divided as they face unrest from the people. This should make the job of our troops easier when we secure a solid front after we push to the first dotted line you see there. Once that is secure, we will have a three pronged push to Giovannia, hopefully with air support and missile strikes. We will ensure that our men use a scorched earth policy to further starve the city as we burn the farmland around the urban areas. The missile bombardment and the air support should assist in the final push where we surround the capital city and ensure no one gets in and no one gets out. We starve them out for a few days with occasional bombardments and give them a three day ultimatum. If they do not comply we will push into the city, round up the monarchy and members of the legislature and force them to sign a surrender. From there, we will execute the monarch, the royal family, and all members of the government we capture live on television and have the military control the country until we send our own people in to govern the area. Blue Bubble should follow suit with Giovanniland if they know what is good for them." Kuna was very pleased by this plan, he didn't need the specifics of how these plans will be carried out as he will let his officers decide how to do that. Lavender Island will be the first of his future corporate empire, the rich will get richer and the land will be reaped of all it holds, no matter how many lives it will cost. Kuna opened a drawer in his desk and took out four cigars and handed one to each of them. He cut off the bits for all of them and lit his own before raising it up in a form of toast,
"To profit, my friends." He could tell none of them were smokers by their reluctance to accept his offer to light their cigars, but they were too scared to refuse and they followed suit,
"To profit." they said somewhat half heartedly.

President Goldberg announces the Ten Stars Award Programme to encourage youth development
Today, President Paul Goldberg announced that after much consideration, he would be officially creating the Ten Stars Award. Set to be the Federal Republic's official youth awards programme, the Ten Stars Award would be awarded to adolescents, youths and teenagers of various ages for completing a multifarious array of extra-curricular activities. The Ten Stars Award programme is set to begin in six months, during which the Government would be accumulating funds and collecting taxpayer money from the Treasury to set up and kickstart the programme.

Santo-Dominian left unites after narrow defeat in presidential elections, but old problems remain
Today, the Santo-Dominian left-wing overwhelmingly united behind one banner, ending years of endless division and factionalism in the political camp that once reliably dominated the Federal Republic's political scene. The centre-left Country Liberal Party(CLP), which gave this country Presidents Jan Davis Lovings and Eliot Klein, decided to merge with the far-left Santo-Dominian Communist Phalanx(SDCP). Interestingly, the long-running feud between these two leftist parties was chiefly perpetrated by none other than Lovings and Klein themselves. Here's a recap of the entire feud.
The year was 1306, and then-President Lovings enjoyed good approval ratings. As the 2nd President of Santos-Dominius, Lovings pioneered social and welfare reform, built and repaired rural infrastructure, and sought to eradicated illiteracy. He held the support of a majority of Santo-Dominians, and while he certainly had detractors, they were outnumbered by his supporters for the most part. However, within his own Country Liberal Party, a plot to topple and replace the extremely old President was brewing, and leading the plot was Senator Eliot Klein(SN) and his centre-left moderates.
Disillusioned with the seemingly "radical" and "extreme" measures that President Lovings pushed for in the National Senate, the young and charismatic Sen. Klein convinced many of the party elders, as well as young CLP voters, to support him and abandon Lovings. After all preparations had been done, Sen. Klein invoked the CLP's constitution and launched a sudden and unannounced leadership challenge against Lovings, ultimately winning it and becoming Santo-Dominian's 3rd President and the first one that came into office without being popularly elected. Infuriated by his own untimely and early demise, Lovings and his far-left base left the CLP, founding the SDCP and siphoning a reasonable amount of votes from the CLP's base.
Both Sens. Lovings and Klein have since died, but the feud continued on after their deaths, weakening the Santo-Dominian left for years. It was this heated feud that was heavily blamed by both parties for the left's defeat in the 1422 presidential elections, in which incumbent President Paul Goldberg, of the centre-right Democratic Coalition Party(DCB), barely defeated leftist challenger Sen. Jeremy Maxson(WS) from the CLP. Opinion polls had long predicted a massive CLP victory and Maxson's election as the 5th President of the country, but on election night, it was revealed that a razor-thin majority of Santo-Dominians had abandoned the left and voted to re-elect the old and white-haired President Goldberg, handing him his 3rd and possibly final term as he approaches 100 years old.
Though recommended by leftist commentators and columnists alike, Sen. Maxson declined to become the leader of the new party after the merge was completed and the appropriate documents submitted to the Government. Instead, the CLP's 1422 vice presidential candidate, Sen. Art Bernstein(LM), assumed joint leadership of the party with Sen. Diane Waterside(SDCP-RO), an avowed socialist and former schoolteacher. Bernstein and Waterside named the new party "Coalition of Roses"(CoR), selecting the rose - a historical symbol of the labour movement and leftist causes - as its party symbol. With the left now united behind the CoR, Santos-Dominius seems to be stabilising as a three-party democracy, with the CoL, DCB and the far-right Split Conservative Union(SCU) contesting elections. However, Sen. Bernstein's advanced age and Sen. Waterside's radical ideas may threaten the unity and appeal of the CoR, and Santos-Dominius' left-wing still has a long way to go if it aims to win an election against the now established and strong DCB.

Long, long, long ago, before the first humans settled on the islands we now call Santos-Dominius, the islands were inhabited by a group of gods living there. These were the powerful gods who descended from heaven to create the Santo-Dominian archipelago. There were seven gods, and they were: Saxilon, god of creation; Palatina, goddess of fate; Arlancia, goddess of happiness and nature; Ubuntinius, god of hate and destruction; Oporil, god of weather and the seas; Rechs, the god of war; and Santosia, goddess of love.
Every day, the gods were living on the islands, nourishing and cherishing it. As the years flew by, however, the gods were beset by loneliness, and the gods met to discuss Arlancia's proposal of creating fairies to help them manage the archipelago. Ubuntinius enthusiastically supported the idea, given that he could create hate between the fairies and gods, bringing him great fun after years of creating boring hate between the gods themselves. Rechs too announced his support, for he could have new playthings to create war between.
Unsurprisingly, Palatina, Oporil and Saxilon all disagreed with the proposal. Palatina feared that she would not be able to handle the increased workload, as she had already been tired by years and years of determining the fate of plants, animals and nature all over the world. Oporil stated that since the fairies would live on land, he would therefore be equally lonely regardless of the creation of fairies. He refused to support the proposal unless mermaids were created instead, a counterproposal which Arlancia rejected as that would bring her loneliness.
Saxilon ultimately decided against the proposal, citing the reason that the creation of fairies would take all his energy and powers, and cause him to permanently lose the status of a god. With three people in favour of the proposal and three people against it, the deciding vote was held by Santosia. She agreed to the proposal, saying that she would be honoured to create love and romance between more creatures. And so, the fairies were created in Santos-Dominius.
Years after, on one fair day, Santosia walked on the largest island in the archipelago. She had always admired the beauty of it, from the beaches to the mountains. She was attempting to create a little shrine as a gift to Arlancia, who created the island, when something bumped into her. She turned around, and was mesmerised by the most beautiful fairy she had ever seen, a handsome male called by the name of Dominium.
Both of them knew it was love at first sight. Santosia believed that Palatina had blessed her and led her to the love of her life. From that day onwards, the goddess of love fell terribly in love with the fairies she promised to introduce romance to. They would play island-hopping. They would befriend animals and listen to the whispers of plants. But in the eyes of the gods, Santosia had made a big mistake. To fall in love with a creation of your own self, the gods thought, was a most unforgivable sin, one that would call for harsh punishment.
Santosia was summoned to a hasty meeting of the gods. She was angrily reprimanded by Oporil, who held the belief that the gods were superior to their creations and therefore must not indulge in romance with them, which would - in his opinion - diminish their superiority. She was warned that one more romantic encounter with Dominium would result in Palatina giving their relationship a terrible fat. Santosia lashed out, calling out the gods and angrily storming out of the meeting.
After the meeting, the goddess of love was haunted by her inability to go to her own lover. She yearned for the chance to see him again, and when the gods set off on a trip and left her alone on the biggest island, she flew to Dominium. But right after they finally reunited, the weather rapidly darkened and the waves started growing more and more violent. As the couple was about to share a kiss, a thunderous bolt of lightening struck Dominium, instantaneously turning him into a pile of nothing but glowing ash and dust. The waves crashed against the shore, sweeping the ash forever out to sea, where Santosia could not reach at all. He had been killed by Ubuntinius' lightning and Oporil's waves.
Santosia was distraught. She tried to have Saxilon, Arlancia and Palatina, who were sympathetic to her, to revive Dominium, but it was out of their control. Palatina explained that once she had set the fate of someone, it was impossible for anyone - even her - to change it or take it back, for that was the nature of fate. Santosia decided that if she could not get her lover back, she would remember him in spirit. She named the biggest island "Santos", after herself, and named the southern archipelago "Dominius".
Santosia also repaid the sympathy and support of her fellow gods. When Saxilon created humans to apologise for deciding against the proposal to create fairies, Santosia had the first two ancient city-states, Saxilonia and Palatinium, named after Saxilon and Palatina respectively. The beautiful city of St. Arlaine, nestled in the northern part of Dominius, was named after Arlancia, who tried her best in vain to obtain Dominium's ash from the seas. Rechs, who failed to help her, did not get anything named after him, and neither did Ubuntinius or Oporil.
And this tragedy, one that happened thousands and thousands of years ago, is rumoured to be the reason why Santos-Dominius is named so. Today, Saxilonia and Palatinium have become Sasslen and Palain respectively, while St. Arlaine has survived throughout the ages, something superstitious citizens claim to be as a result of divine protection from Arlancia. Nobody knows if this fable is real or not, but it is certainly one that has survived through the ages, earning it the right to be called a Santo-Dominian fable.

Nobody knows if this fable is real or not, but it is certainly one that has survived through the ages, earning it the right to be called a Santo-Dominian fable.

Thank you all for reading our absolute final report on the HAJFF and the tournament as a whole. What, you thought we were gone? Hah! You'll never truly be rid of us! Even if a closing ceremony has occurred, we'll always be around to have our fill. It has been a fantastic ride as we make our way to overall 14th place in the World Cup of Football registering ourselves in the first matches of our history as a mid-table team. With our incredible variability and ruthless gegenpressing style we were able to make a strong start and quickly become the team to watch for exciting matches, such as the dominating 3-2 win over Italia. The Paradigm Compass also dominated the match against Arifiyyah until they pulled out a dramatic last minute comeback to ruin our fine day. After comfortably beating Reçueçn and being the only team to score against them at all in their run, we found ourselves on the end of what at the time was the Football World Cups biggest upset. A 5-1 defeat to Irador who were in the middle of a mini-renaissance of sorts, a scoreline that brought great shock to not only us, but to Irador themselves too. Considering our offensive style and their defensive style, this result was not expected. From there we kind of became boring, a 0-0 with the war-torn Zoran making us all fall asleep. Nevertheless we made it through to battle Larxia. After what must have been the most evenly matched game in the entire tournament, an 89th minute half-volley culminated all hopes of us bringing home the trophy. Larxia, who would eventually finish 2nd as well as have the top scorer (who failed to score against us), scraped through by the surface of their teeth. Thus came to an end our valiant efforts in the cup. Starting strong, collapsing in the middle, then coming back strong again only to suffer heartbreak at the very end.

The HAJFF actually has a few anthems to it. One for the Federation itself, another for the team and one submitted as an entry by the fans, for the fans.
 
In our last report, we said that we had something in the works. Unfortunately, our budget was pretty poor for it. But we still got it done, below is the link to the Hertfordshire and Jammbo analysis of the participants in the World Cup of Football. (WARNING: IRREGULARITIES ARE ALMOST CERTAIN)

As for us, here is a quick summary of the matches we had. Nothing too big, just a run-down.

We would now like to extend a glass of whatever drink we so happen to choose to the hosts United Adaikes, who performed a very fine job with hosting this tournament. As well, the HAJFF offers a belated congrats to the winners Nieubasria, runners-up Larxia and third place Tara & Cambray. We are admittedly quite dismayed that Polaris has yet again taken the most top spots, but at least Andolia finally made a name for itself. Too bad it wasn't us lot. The bitter taste of truth indeed.

President Goldberg announces new passport designs to be rolled out with new citizenship policies
Today, President Paul Goldberg(DCB-FE) announced that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs had completed designing new passports for Santo-Dominians. The endeavour, which cost around 675,000 SD Dollars, was completed by the MFA with the help of design and marketing firm DesignSD, famous for employing top students from the University of Friberne's Elaine Ip School of Arts and Design. Senator Diane Hutchison(DCB-YC), Minister of Foreign Affairs, said that the passports would be rolled out by 1422, though she added that expedited production may make widespread distribution possible this year.
Sen. Hutchison explained to reporters that the old passports, adopted after the foundation of the Federal Republic, had become outdated and inconvenient, especially for government officials and diplomats, as their passports were identical with the normal civilian version in terms of appearance and only identifiable by checking the first page. She stated to avoid inconveniences and misunderstandings, there would be three new passports, with one for civilians, a diplomatic passport for diplomats and a service passport for government officials.
The new passports were revealed to be in different colours. The civilian passport would be in a splendid shade of deep purple with gold letters, while the diplomatic passport would be in a much lighter shade of purple with white letters. The service passport was in a shade of burgundy(though some say maroon), Santos-Dominius' unofficial national colour besides the classic dark grey, with letters also in white. The 10-Star Partitioned Shield, the Federal Republic's most recognisable symbol and unofficial coat of arms, is displayed prominently on all three passports.
She also stated that accompanying the new designs would be a new citizenship policy. The Overseas Citizens' Rights Act of 1421, passed the day before yesterday in the National Senate, would introduce a new kind of citizen: the Santo-Dominian Overseas National(SDON). Whereas Santo-Dominians living overseas were traditionally required to completely abandon their citizenship if they stay for over 5 years with less than 10 visits to Santos-Dominius, expats abroad can now apply for SDON and stay indefinitely in foreign countries while still retaining the full rights and privileges afforded to a regular Santo-Dominian citizen living back home. Sen. Hutchison stated that SDON citizens would have to renew their status every five years, with the condition that they must at least stay in Santos-Dominius for an accumulated total time of at least one week every five years.
The new passports, as well as the Overseas Citizens' Rights Act, were generally well-received by most people. Sen. Jeremy Maxson(CLP-WS), former presidential contender, praised the designs of the new passports, calling them "an improvement over the previous, outdated version". Political commentator James Lindsey agreed, saying that the new passports "are miles better in appearance and design". However, Sen. Art Bernstein(CLP-LM) was more critical overall, calling the MFA out for "excessive spending on designing passports while the Santo-Dominian people yearn for better lives". Sen. Bernstein remarked that the cost to have DesignSD create these passports, 675,000 SD Dollars, was an "exorbitant amount of money wasted".
President Goldberg himself stayed notably silent on the matter following the announcement, with the press conference mostly dominated by Sen. Hutchison's explanations. Lindsey noted that this may be a result of his narrow re-election and weakened political standing, stating that since the President was elected on such a tiny margin, he would therefore attempt to avoid partisanship and controversy at all costs in order to solidify popular support for a possible fourth term. Now in the early days of his third term and nearing his later 90s, President Goldberg is known for his political strength and perseverance, which has allowed him to obtain victories, albeit with the thinnest of margins.

Tropical Storm Viola approaches western Santos-Dominius from Yatasail Sea
Today, the National Weather Observatory(NWO) of the Ministry of Science & Development(MSD) announced today that Tropical Storm Viola was swiftly approaching the Santo-Dominian archipelago. Senator Walter Untermann(DCB-NL), Minister of Science and Development, said in a press conference at the MSD headquarters that Viola "is quickly and swiftly approaching Santos-Dominius and rapidly increasing in strength and speed". He stated that Viola "will most certainly pose a strong threat to the Santo-Dominian archipelago", and spent the entire press conference speaking about precautions and preventative measures.
Sen. Untermann first announced that Viola "is undergoing the meteorological situation of rapid intensification, a dangerous process where a tropical cyclone intensifies dramatically in strength and especially maximum wind speed in a very short amount of time". He told reporters that the National Weather Observatory "predicts Tropical Storm Viola to be classified as a major hurricane and a very real danger to the country", and urged Santo-Dominians to "take any and all precautions and preventative measures possible so as to reduce and control ahead of time the damage and impact caused".
In line with Sen. Untermann's stern and serious warnings, the Ministry of Information(MI) and the Ministry of Biological, Ecological and Zoological Affairs(MBEZA) both announced extreme preventative measures. Sen. Terry Melvin(DCB-FE), Minister of Information, announced that all schools in the country would have to be closed indefinitely until further notice starting the day after tomorrow. "We must protect and ensure the safety of our children," Sen. Melvin wrote in his statement. Sen. Christelle Chantal(DCB-FR), Minister of Biological, Ecological and Zoological Affairs, announced that all zoos, parks, nature reserves, national parks and wildlife enclosures would be shut down indefinitely and the animals would be all moved to secure indoor facilities that would be well-stocked and able to run independently for weeks on end.
Other government ministries also took the threat of Tropical Storm Viola seriously. The Ministry of Commerce advised all non-essential cargo traffic to and from Santos-Dominius to be halted as soon as possible, and urged cargo ships and planes already on the way to arrive in Santo-Dominian docks and airports as soon as possible to "allow for protection and shelter". The Ministry of Defence was put on high alert as the Naval Constabulary, the country's non-military naval policing and patrolling force, advised all ships traveling in Santo-Dominian waters to dock and temporarily unload cargo immediately to allow for safe and secure storage. The Ministry of Social Services announced it would close its offices in three days and urged all who had business with it to come forward and "get it over with" before the closures.
Some ministries took preparation to the extreme. The Treasury of the State announced that all of its offices would be closed starting tomorrow and all employees would be on indefinite paid leave. It also stated that it would limit its operations to only accept applications, requests and documents online, and even those would only be processed after Viola is no longer a threat. The Directory of the Interior also announced that major highways would limit traffic and that after the tropical cyclone passes, all arterial roads would be restricted to government vehicles only. It also announced that the Bill Mulberry International Airport would be closing down tomorrow night indefinitely, and urged all Santo-Dominian planes to be securely parked in hangars and all foreign planes to return to their home countries as additional shelter would not be available at the airport.
With the entire government scrambling to prepare for the worst case scenario, where a Hurricane Viola wrecks havoc across the Federal Republic, it seems that Santo-Dominians across the country are also preparing to face the brunt of the brutal side of nature. In the big cities like Friberne, Sasslen, Louisann and Arkurter, traffic has ground to a halt as citizens rush to big-box stores and grocery markets to purchase essentials and stock up for the impending disaster. In the rural areas, villagers and farmers have prepared their farms, vineyards, lands and houses for what the NWO describes as "the most destructive natural disaster Santos-Dominius will encounter".

The Nieubasrian national team are running around the pitch, celebrating and hugging, as if not believing that they won the 1st World Cup of Football. The action-filled (and close) match ended in 1-0. The technical and utility units of the United Adaikes World Cup of Football Organizing Committee were busy preparing the podiums and the stage riser in the middle of the pitch for the awarding and closing ceremonies. United Adaikes President Luke Salazar, after congratulating the Nieubasria Ambassador in the VIP box, went down with him and the Larxian Ambassador to the field to congratulate the players.
When everything was in place, the United Adaikes Football Association Head Myron Lillakis started, "Before we continue in congratulating and awarding the champions of the 1st World Cup of Football that is hosted in our very own nation," he turns to Salazar, "Mr. President, I would like to congratulate and give awards to individuals who performed exemplarily during this tournament. First off, the Golden Glove award is given to the best goalkeeper we have seen in this tournament, and after allowing 5 goals only since their first match in the group stage until bagging 3rd Place in this tournament, congratulations to the Tara and Cambray Union Football goalkeeper Stefan Keller!" As Keller climbs the stage riser, he slaps his chest three times, points and looks to the sky before receiving the award from United Adaikes Sports Commission Chief Pouria Barr.
"This next award," Lillakis continued, "is given to the player who scored most in this tournament, and though they lost today, he drove his team on top of Group B and helped his team tie with the most goals scored in the group stage. They have the most scored goals in the tournament with 20, and he scored every goal that mattered in the knockout rounds. Help me in congratulating him, from Federacion de Futbol Larxia, winger Leo Messy!" Though grateful with the award presented to him by the Larxian ambassador and smiled for the cameras, the look on Messy's face can be seen that he thought he should have done more.
"Lastly," Lillakis read from his cue cards, "this next award is given to the best player of the tournament, voted by football fans here and abroad from the start of the knockout rounds up to the semi-finals, selected by the international sports media, and chosen by the United Adaikes Football Association from the pool of players that came from the votes of the fans and selection of the media, who nonetheless, shown great character, sportsmanship and the best of football during this World Cup, help me congratulate Nieubasria forward Camdyn Cartwrighte!" Upon receiving the award from the Nieubasria ambassador, he clenched his fist, kissed it, pointed and looked to the sky and mouthed, "For you, Earc." "Once again", Lillakis said before stepping off from the podium, "congratulations to the winners!"
United Adaikes Sports Commission Chief Pouria Barr then went to the podium and spoke. "Mr. President, esteemed guests, players, and to the fans here and around the world watching, out of the 24 teams that entered this tournament, they won a feat only dreamed by few, help me in congratulating our Runner-ups in this tournament, the Federacion de Futbol Larxia!" Everyone in the stadium clapped hard, with all fans in the stadium shouting in unison "Larxia!" repeatedly before the team went off the stage.
As Barr stepped off from the podium, United Adaikes President Luke Salazar went to the opposite side of the riser to his Executive Podium, "I will not make this long, I know, you want to celebrate with your team and everyone, but I would like to thank all participating nations for the trust in our country to host the 1st World Cup of Football. This won't happen without your earnest cooperation. To the Football Association, a job well done for heading in the organization of this event. To the Sports Commission, our work is not yet done. We need to continue to improve the state of our competitive sports in the country to be at par with our international counterparts. And expect the utmost cooperation and participation of the Federal Republic of the United Adaikes to other international sports tournaments that will happen in the future. I'm sorry if I made that long - so, without further ado, ladies and gentlemen, your 1st World Cup of Football champions, the Sovereign Estates of Nieubasria!"
