Giovanniland reacted to Arracrania in What language(s) and writing system does your nation use?
The vernacular in Arracrania is Kartellano, which bears great resemblance to a mixture of Spanish grammar (with the exception of grammatical gender) and Georgian script. The lingua franca is English, which is used mostly in trade and communication with foreign entities. Both Kartellano and English are official languages of Arracrania.

VALET FINDS GENERAL KUDRYAVTSEV DEAD IN HIS BED
———————
NATION IS STUNNED BY NEWS
It was announced by his private estate at 10:45am to-day that Vladimir Kudryavtsev, the leader of Lanorth, who retired to rest in fair health, died peacefully in his sleep early this morning of lung-related issues caused by his constant smoking habits. In accordance with the constitution, his deputy, Nicholas Brezhnev, has immediately been notified of General Kudryavtsev's passing and has immediately become the leader of Lanorth.
The family of the General received the news on an island off the coast of Lanorth, during the night, that he had passed away peacefully in his sleep. They immediately took a flight to the estate where he passed away. Not much information has been revealed as of yet as the story was only recently released, as more information is due to pour in within the next few hours or so.
The nation has begun to mourn the loss of their great General. The nation has entered a week-mourning period. All schools have been shut down for that week as well as the majority of businesses and non-essential supermarkets. The national anthem is being sung across the country and a two-minute is due to to be held soon in his honour.

The Confederacy of Zoran Opposes Crab Coup of TWP
The Confederacy of Zoran has issued a response to the coup of the TWP by the Crab King. The Defense Council has voted to declare open rebellion to restore the original order of TWP.
"We may not be very militaristic but we will not stand by and watch crabs walk on our shores." Stated President Apenimon Ani'-Wah'.
A draft is to be put in place and crabs are banned from the country as decided by a vote in the Defense Council after much debate by each representative of the communes. They have also put out a call to arms to all members of the TWP who oppose the Crab regime in a hope to push for a restoration of the old order.

Giovanniland reacted to Khesed Archipelagic Republic in Western Doll Guldur Archaeological Expedition
In the times of antiquity, long before the current calendar was formed, an ancient civilization ruled the western region of Doll Guldur. For centuries, mere fragments of the ancient nation was uncovered in the nations of Einherfell, Libterraria, Novasamita, and Novia Xeneia. However, about a month ago, a large cavern was found on the border of Einherfell, Libterraria, and Novia Xeneia. Archaeologists delved inside to explore. What they found was more than they expected.
A massive temple and some smaller buildings buried under the ground, hieroglyphs still intact, giving more clues about the old culture and peoples of the land. A camp was set up, and photos were taken and sent to the respective organizations and specialists that were assigned to the task of researching such a discovery. Now, a month later, each nation is here to unveil their initial findings, and determine whether it is worth continuing the expedition to uncover more knowledge of the lost nation, which is yet to have a name assigned to it.

Giovanniland reacted to Libterraria in Western Doll Guldur Archaeological Expedition
Libterrarian linguists analysed hieroglyphs and found that they are likely a ideographic or pictographic writing system. However, they were not able to decipher any words besides common ones. Similarities within the language show that the language is possibly. related to Libterrarian and Einherfell, but the evidence is scarce
Libterrarian geologist found that the rocks that were used in the construction of the temple were 7000-6500 years old, which is slightly younger than previously found relics. The stones used to construct the temple likely come from the coast of the lake at the border of Libterraria, Novia Xeneia and Novasamita.
The Libterrarian Government funded Libterrarian scientists exploring the ruins a total of 3.5 Million Potatoes = $2700000. Libterraria wishes to continue the expedition in collaboration with the other west Doll Guldur countries.

The Zoranian Platypus on the Verge of Extinction
For centuries the Zoranian Platypus, who reside within the the great Relutan rain forest, has been a symbol of the Zoranian people. But with recent developments in industry and the deforestation of the rain forest, the very symbol of our people are now on the verge of extinction. The culture of Zoran could be completely changed forever if the platypus is allowed to go extinct. New rituals and prayers for the salvation of the platypus have recently been created by the spiritual group in the country. The platypus, the national animal, is held very dearly in the hearts of many Zoranians and the country's citizens are obligating the government, which seeks to limit its own power and responsibility, to take action and to make an effort in putting funding into a environmental department to help save the Zoranian Platypus and help its population make a comeback.

Giovanniland reacted to Arracrania in Hello, TWP!
Just a newbie here looking to learn and interact more with this great region! I chose TWP since it has the best maps among the Pacific regions I am a relatively big fan of anime (not so much of a manga fan though) and play some board games here and there (I frequent Board Game Arena a lot) - so if you're also into those things, we'll probably get along nicely!
Hopefully you are all doing well despite COVID-19 forcing us to retreat back to our homes. Stay safe everyone!

Spring! I just love all the flowers. It's also the only season that has a weather I like - summer is too hot, and autumn and winter are too cold here.

Giovanniland reacted to Nark in Hello!
Hi from the lands of Daskel! We are a developing nation, with a capital city and province called, unironically (I swear I did this before joining NationStates!) Astor City. Currently working on civil rights, the nation strives to be a place where inclusion and culture is the key. We love killer whales with passion! (Also love dachshunds with passion, but oh well, let's call those little legged friends our "off of record" national dog?). I am new in this game, but I'm learning the ropes of this diverse user made universe.

Giovanniland reacted to Lagerus in Social Technocratic Union
Hello to TWP!
As our first official post to this embassy, we would like to provide a formal introduction of our region and its beliefs.
The STU is a technocratic/meritocratic region which believes in the rule of the qualified and competent, over the rule of those merely popular enough to take victory in elections. Of course, we share this belief and culture with TWP, hence our interest in building ties.
The STU was founded by Josh (Imperium of Josh/Technocratic Founder) partially to raise awareness of the real world ideological positions technocracy encompasses and enhances, and partially to provide a unique space within the game offering a meritocratic outlook as its primary driving force in IC policy, foreign and internal. The STU is presently not aligned militarily with any ideology, though it has generally raider leaning membership.
Thank you for reading. Please address any questions or concerns to our appointed diplomat, or to Josh personally.

Kurabis joins Nieusbasric MWG
March 4, 1420
Written by Tom Durand
Kurabis recently joined the Nieubasric "Multinational Working Group Regarding Passport Security and Travel Document Standards (or the MWG)" programme.
Along with Tara and Cambray, Reçueçn, The Holy Principaly of Saint Mark and others, the group is targeting the growing incidences of cross-border crime.
"If the new standardisation will come in force, the immigration procces at airports may need to be renewed. That can cost up to 2,5 million crowns (approximately 162 100 USD)," says Foreign Affairs Minister Daria Kulakov.
According to a survey, 73% Kurabisians say they are fine with renewing their passport for a newer one according to the standards, while 15% say it is time-wasting or they do not have time for it.

Note: this article is outdated, as I have decided "č,š,ž" is still part of Kurabi alphabet.
New legislation will bring back "ž"
March 9, 1420
Written by Jakåb Våssr
The new legislation will bring back "ž" to the Kurabi language. It was removed long time ago from the alphabet with other letters, such as "č" and "š", since westerners thought "it was too complicated".The new legislation was created due to Kurabisians thinking the "zh" combo used until today looked strange.
While the "ž" letter is getting back, Kurabisians are talking about also bringing back "č" and "š". The passing of this legislation may be postponed if enough Kurabisians will support this.
