@Karlica, the Cartography Board decided not to approve your expansion request. Your original area request was reduced for being too large and brought to a size that would have minimal effect on your other requested statistics and indicators. Wanting one's nation to be larger for the sake of being larger is not a compelling enough reason for expansion.

Most importantly, the city was not affected by the reforms of Artanar Nellaspordo during 1344-1392. The region of Brahair only consists of the westernmost half of an ancient region under Kalmachian influence with the same name.
The islands in the Salt Sea west of Garahun are under the direct administration of the Council of Illegon, but are taxed and administrated separately from the region of Haldôr. Religious minorities exisist on these islands.

The Crimson Order has offered the services of The College of Cardinals, in their authority of Inquisition, to serve as Justices of the Interplanetary Supreme Court of Justice of the region The United Federation of Planets.

Giovanniland reacted to Candeluian Minister in Daily Candelù
Tiveronia in a crysis after independence movement manifestation: Is it something not to worry about, or will Zanna declare independence?
Latelly, many groups of people in the west of Candelù took part in manifestations, showing their desire of independence, wanting to divide Zanna and Granzia once again.
This is thought to be caused from the recent laws proposed by our government, which, from the "Grup d'Indipendenza Zantese Tiveroniano" (GIZT) are seen as oppression of the Zannese culture and people.
The laws are still being visioned by the government, but the leader of the independence movement, Luciano Kazmo confirmed: "If the Zannese's culture will officially  need to becalled "Candeluian", we'll do our best to peacefully leave. That would NOT be what our great great grandparents agreed on anymore. We were promised the recognition of our culture, and we'll keep it, even as an indipendent nation!"
The emperor is worried, like most of the Granzian population, he sees the inhabitants of Zanna as brothers. He is activelly partecipating with the government in the research of a solution.
Candelù's President, Tarbano Dabro recently told to the whole nation: "We will not allow any law that can and will harm any person in Candelù, Zannese or Granzian, of any other ethnicity or coming from other nations of Esferos. Ways to solve and "fix" this Zannese crysis will be found."

Only time will tell how this is going to end, us of Candela Mattutina hope for a peaceful and calm future for our country.
    Long Live The Emperor.

35 years and going: CMPC's origins
    Published July 12, 1423
    Written by Osmond Malmqvist

Whilst most mainstream news sources globally have their roots in decades, even centuries, of reporting information, CMPC is different. Now marking its 35th anniversary, the Czuleck Media Publishing Cooperative has had a relatively short term of operation with quite a bit of history. This includes milestones such as establishing the first ever podcast in Czuleck and becoming the first publishing cooperative with media access across the confederation.
With all CMPC has released over the years, many citizens still don't know about the origins of the cooperative. On a voluntary poll issued to online listeners of "Not this again!," our most popular podcast featuring a panel style comedy segment, only 32% of listeners correctly identified who the founders of CMPC were. The remainder of listeners assumed it was started in other ways, including being a former state media company turned anarchist. So for those who may not know the true origin of the cooperative, they may ask, well what is it?
One woman and her camera (1380-1388)

At the height of the Czuleck civil war, Salla Lindholm was a member of the Karhu column. The column itself was named after Matias Karhu who was a well known anarchist that spearheaded Czulian Anarchism and workers rights in the 12th century. Although the column's primary objective was to survey defensive positions made by Lewibarr's forces, it additionally had a well known secondary objective: document the war. Karhu's column was critical to providing citizens with regular updates on the war, and ultimately showing its destructiveness in the end.
Lindholm was an important figure in the column. She went on numerous missions some would describe as "suicidal" in order to relay the truth. This includes infiltrating's Lewibarr's forces to document war crimes on the frontlines, recording up to 39 different troop movements around the city of Bundaberg from bombed out apartment buildings, and even going as far as using a hidden camera to record conversations in a field headquarters where Lewibarr himself was present.
In total, her efforts to the war were invaluable to say the least. Even as the war was coming to a close and mass demobilizations were starting, her passion for the truth and accountability didn't falter. As soon as she was discharged from the United People's Front (UPF), she contacted former members of Karhu's column to start an organization that would provide citizens with ample coverage of events, and prevent another Lewibarr from occuring.
    Change was brewing (1388-1413)

After all was said and done, Czuleck Media Publishing Cooperative was established on July 12, 1388. It had over 100 staff members from the Karhu unit that instantly went to work. The combined staff members started putting out daily issues of the news that covered a wide range of topics, including the establishment of the People's Forum and the Sloit trials for war criminals. After much trial and error that includes misprints/spelling mistakes, CMPC became a hit across Czuleck. And with that new found attention, big changes were made to the formula of CMPC.
The first major change was the establishment of a radio and television broadcasting subsidiary in 1392 that was called the Czuleck Media Broadcasting Cooperative (CMBC). Following this was the establishment of a digital newspaper service in 1396, the creation of Czuleck's first podcast in 1406, the development of a smartphone app in 1410, and the creation of the CMPC War Reconstruction Fund in 1412, a service collects donations and assists other nations in reconstructing after war. During this time period as well, the CMPC established publishing studios in all communes of Czuleck, and even created a program that allowed foreign citizens to listen in on global affairs and local Czuleck matters.
However, amid all of these great changes, tragedy struck CMPC. In 1412, during the popular bike racing event "Trek: Czuleck", Salla Lindholm was shot dead by an unknown assailant. Later investigations would prove this murderer was a member of a group that supported Lewibarr during the war, and wanted to reinstall a government similar to his. Although she was gone, CMPC and all of Czuleck would not forget her spirit.
    Then to now (1413-Present)

Since 1412, CMPC has continued its program of covering various topics in Czuleck with a unbiased eye. No matter any decision made by any council within Czuleck, CMPC has not taken a stance on any political issue since the end of the war. CMPC was created to show citizens nothing but the truth, and it has continued to do so with great success. Programs within the cooperative have given training to reporters to prevent, to the best of their ability, having biases in covering events.
Further advances have been made with CMPC as well, including making a radio station that operates on a fishing trawler and even experimentation with artificial intelligence in regards to organization of stories. In perhaps the biggest accomplishment yet, CMPC has reached an all time high with audience size that is on par with some major foreign outlets. No matter the year, the cooperative intends on advancing its resources as much as possible, whilst sharing its findings with other cooperatives at the same time.
As of right 1423, CMPC has become the largest media source in Czuleck. Despite this large following, CMPC frequently supports smaller media cooperatives across the confederation in hopes to give citizens as many choices as possible. It is important to offer citizens these choices to allow them to form their own opinions on what goes on daily. It is not only the right thing to do, but it also was a goal of Lindholm.

1423 State Visit to Aftokratoria & Usta Crisis Summit.
Amelia Marcus, Chancellor of Sekiya, visits Aftokratoria & attends a regional summit in response to the recent oil spill incident in the region.
From: Office of the Chancellor and Secretary of the Chancellor
    Published: 09/07/1423
Location: Aftokratoria Earlier this week, Chancellor Amelia Marcus made a state visit to Aftokratoria to meet with recently elected Prime Minister Otto Kracy. Following the Usta Island Oil spill, it was then announced that the Chancellor would also be attending an emergency summit in the Aftokratorian Capital, Evimeronia, with Otty Kracy and a delegation from the People's forum of Czuleck.
On the first day, the chancellor flew into the airport of Gatankri, a large city next to Evimeronia. After spending some personal time in Gatankri, the Chancellor then traveled to Evimeronia, where she greeted Otto Kracy and several other officials from the Aftokratorian government. Several things were discussed, including trade opportunities, renewable energy investments and further cooperation.
The two then traveled to meet the Czulian delegation for the summit regarding the recent incident involving Fauthur. The three leaders discussed ways of dealing with the oil spill and countering further offences from Fauthur, however Sekiya declined to support a full embargo against Fauthur.
Following several hours of discussion, it was later announced that Sekiya will dedicating a small fleet to the region, for a minimum service of a year. Destroyer RNS Castle, supported by two frigates RNS Destiny & RNS Concorde will act as a deterrent to further trespasses.

Additionally, the auxiliary ship RNS Mercy will assist in relocating those most affected by the disaster, providing logistical support, and acting as a scientific research base to investigate the greater extent of the issue.

The chancellor then gave the following speech, before the close of the conference.
Following the conclusion of the summit, the chancellor then spent several days in the city of Voreivikost, before returning to Sekiya.

The National Museum of Campa Simpatica located in Puertopatico announces major addition to paleontology exhibit.
    1423, April 26.

Seen above is reconstruction of a "bosquesaurus." Recently, more and more pieces of the spinosaur have been discovered, allowing a good enough inference to be made in creating the skeleton above. Most of these discoveries were made in Campa Simpatica State, Gran Bosque, and Sothern New Kalmach, all of which being the most gifting in terms of fossils. Due to these regions largely revolving around Northern Gran Bosque, it was named after said region.
Like Spinosaurus, it can be inferred that bosquesaurus primarily ate fish based on the shape of its skull. However, like seen in the exhibit, it may have also eaten pterosaurs such as the one seen in its jaws. A tooth from a bosquesaurus has been found imbedded into a fossil of a similar pterosaur, leading to the conclusion that the flying creatures were likely part of its diet.

Oil spill near Usta Island affecting thousands
    Published June 14th 1423
    Written by Vragi Erland

Map depicting the original oil spill location [red area] and Usta Island [Blue area]

In what is considered one of the worst environmental disasters since the rapid militarization campaign pushed by former dictator Colonel Lewibar, the Home Guard station of Usta Island has reported a catastrophic oil spill off the coast affecting not only the nation of Czuleck, but that of Aftokratoria as well. What is worse is that reports indicate this was done deliberately by those acting on behalf of Fauthur.

A report issued by Usta Island Home Guard Coordinator Fardhe Odenberg indicates that the small island, inhabited by 13,723 civilians, has been thrust into chaos. The local economy that was once based on local fisheries has been catastrophically damaged. Shipping to the island has been halted as well, causing supply chains to be disrupted and prompting airlifts to occur.

In previous months, the leader of Fauthur, Kerglom Hafth, has accused Aftokratoria of not being part of the Nur continent, insisting it is too far north to be truly considered as such. Although being without support from his own government, Hafth has continued to bombard Aftokratoria with threats and insults, even going as far as proposing legislation to cut trade between the two nations. However this plan was voted down by lawmakers, even by some in the same party as Hafth.

During this time of contention, Czuleck has stayed out of the debate all together. Whilst local town and communal councils have voiced support for Aftokratoria, the people's forum has notably voted down any motions to offically pick sides in this fued. That was until yesterday's action of oil dumping near Usta Island.

The People's Forum convened the previous night in an emergency session, and spend most of the morning drafting and voting on a resolution to address the crisis. In a unanimous vote, the forum has formally activated, with permission from the communal councils, the Usta Island and adjacent commune of Oplistan's Home Guard units. Furthermore, the Czulian navy has been deployed to assist with cleanup operations, and ensure no Fauthur ship is to enter Czuleck's waters without permission.

The forum has additionally cut all trade relations with Fauthur in protest, condemned the nation for its "wanton destruction", and has forbade any Fauthurian ships to enter Czuleck's waters unless specifically present with migrants or to assist in cleanup operations. Numerous civilian ships were called up to assist with cleaning as well, however, the call surprisingly was far reaching.

Civilians from around Czuleck have travelled to assist with the process. From small canoes to larger fishing vessels, citizens have come together to protect the environment and help all of those affected. Although it is projected to take weeks and maybe months to clean the area up, the citizens present have shown dedication in spite of insurmountable odds.

"Our nation was formed on the basis of helping one another out," said Aimée Eklund, a captain of a small fishing boat. "I can't stand to see our people suffering and not take action." Not only have those like Eklund volunteered their ships for use, but food drives have sparked across the northern Communes closest to Usta. Centers have been set up to collect donations and airlift them to the island.

Although a developing and complex matter, citizens across Czuleck have shown what true unity can bring to the table. Whether more donation centers spring up or more action is taken by the Forum remains to be seen.
