  1. I like these ideas better. But perhaps something less bureaucractic sounding.

Here are some synonyms of guardian: attendant, baby-sitter, bird dog, cerberus, champion, chaperon, chaperone, conservator, cop, curator, custodian, defender, escort, guard, keeper, nurse, overseer, paladin, patrol, preserver, safeguard, sentinel, shepherd, sitter, sponsor, superintendent, supervisor, trustee, vigilante, warden, watchdog

Maybe even different names for the different positions like: Warden of the military. Sentinel of standards, Preserver of Culture.

  2. Two people overseeing one ministry seems horridly bureaucratic.

Agreed. Guardian as an in game position should have limited authority in the offsite government.

Another idea to help with what Hari Addressed with the job being too big for one person. And it could help with temporary, announced inactivity due to RL. We could have a Lieutenant Governor to assist with the job and fill in when necessary.

  3. Russo, I've been with you all along trusting your decisions and discretion.  You have a tough and at times thankless position that requires thought in avenues that most of us will never understand.  And you've handled yourself with wisdom and honor.  However, this role Vlagh is playing does not sound like something we would do in TWP.  Its ominous and puts a spectre around our offsite government that quite frankly breeds distrust, secrecy, and puts people off in a way that was the very problem last week.  I implore you to reconsider.  A reset because you don't like the way things are going is not the response we need in TWP!  We need open transparent decision making to put the people in position to be active participants in a flourishing government.

  4. I agree with Dark and Drach.

Furthermore,Hari was a great example. He was active on the forum, playing games. But it takes more. We need al of the leadership on. The past few days are a great example. The clubhouse section has been booming.

Recruitment takes time, but a concerted, enthuiastic effort will be successful.

It starts with those of us active now! Let's grow this thing. Let's have fun and build something we can be proud of!

  5. *Gets on soapbox*

I feel that leadership in the voice was an issue. No sooner were people selected to fill positions, then they were absent. Frequently! For long periods of time without interacting with or leading the voice. It happened frequently and caused a void at a time when we needed guidance. Furthermore, several leaders in abstentia were guardians. So their void was felt on both sides of TWP.

I would not complain without a possible solution. Nearly every absence was announced, but no one was substituted to take their place. When a DA or guardian has to leave because of RL, then a replacement, either full time or temporarily must be selected.

Another leadership concern I have observed that has stifled activities on the forum is ejecting active members. I'm sure the people deserved to be removed but we haven't replaced their activity. Banning people has consequences. Makes some not want to be active.

Lastly, leadership has not been as welcoming and encouraging as they need to be. Many never comment, post, or play the games thereby encouraging less forum usage with their absence. Some are negative or too stern when commenting. This is a game! People who are chastised do not have fun. Furthermore, I feel that many in the leadership are too clique-ish and exclude others especially new participants.

Dissolving the Voice was the choice made by leadership to create more forum activity. Perhaps a change in management philosophy was all that was necessary?

I'm not writing this as an indictment on delegates, guardians, advocates or deputy advocates. I'm writing this because I care. TWP has been fun for me and I'd like to increase my enjoyment. I'd like to be more active because it's fun for me! But leadership needs to be there for us to inspire activity!

    *Steps off soapbox*

PS: I typed this on my phone, sorry for editing issues on an important post.

  6. I am interested in serving TWP as the DA of Intelligence. This position will give me an opportunity to cover up my lack thereof as well as to serve and protect my homeland that I have been an active participant in since last spring.

My qualifications are vast. I am a professional in a field where gathering information is of paramount importance. I've recently binged watched Game of Thrones and understand the art politics and the inner workings of government.

Please consider my application. I am ready to TWP!

  7. The Texan points to the display table adjacent to the line. On the display is a picnic package with fresh rolls, sliced tomatoes, onions, avocado, and a variety of condiments.

"I'm pretty sure they meant for us to eat this while we are in line! I mean the grill, charcoal and tools were all here."

Next to the display is a cardboard cutout of a footballer and bikini model each with light beers in their hands. The caption reads: "Get all of your weekend grilling needs at the TWP-Mart!"

  8. The Texan returns from the butcher with a bunch of hamburgers.  Begins to put them on the grill.  "I don't know what y'all want on your burger but one of the workers gave me this tray with all of the toppings!  We should be set!"
