  1. "only those deemed fit" - deemed by who? You? Better get that ego checked boy, it's running a bit rampant.
  2. How about "No". And may four winds blow you somewhere.
  3. Not true. Before Eli ripped up that particular rule book Delegates were elected by the legislature, whatever form that took. Totally agree with your last sentence though and I would not like a return to the "old rules".
  4. Does your missus know about your predilection for stunning blondes?
  5. Aye and there's the rub. As Dark said we're lazy and I don't mean that in a pejorative sense. We like laissez-faire and really only get off our backsides when something really, really annoys us. Our last rogue Delegate being a case in point.
  6. As we discussed via tg I'll do a TWP version of Desert Island Discs. My first guest will be ... me!
  7. Can someone lock this sub-forum please? Better still burn it to the ground and then scatter salt on the ashes!
  8. Ah Kaboomlandia, seen you often around the GA and SC and occasionally have given you a hard time, though not as hard as a certain Mr Pearson. Anyway, you are more than welcome to TWP.

  10. I agree with Dark, we're very thankful for your calm presence here while things have been a bit rocky.
  11. On site diplomacy as I have said elsewhere is in the realm of the Delegate. The Foreign Affairs ministry has generally been one of administration, setting up embassies in forum, organising Ambassadors making sure they are active and posting updates when available in our embassies in other regions. As far as I remember the Delegate leads in Foreign Affairs.
  12. Actually I agree with your comments about Foreign Affairs. The on site running of that has always been (if I remember correctly) the Delegate's bailiwick. The forum role has been one of organising Ambassadors to our various friends, making sure they post updates and running the in forum embassies, not of dictating policy.
  13. I think it's time to move on. I appreciate Mal starting this thread, but I believe we should look at what we've done already and say that's enough, no need to keep picking the scab.
  14. Correction to my above post: it's Monday morning in the UK, so Sunday evening for those of you in North America. Sorry about that , misread the empherides.
  15. This coming weekend there is s total eclipse of the Moon. It's also a "supermoon" which means the Moon is close to perigee (closest position to the Earth) so it will appear slightly larger in the sky. Mid-eclipse is early morning on Sunday in the UK, so late evening Saturday for those of you in North America. I doubt I shall be getting up to see it - we have two of the granddaughters staying and Mrs BBD will brain me if I wake them up.
  16. I suspect that's still Knot - I don't think he handed the nation back to Russo, but I am happy to be corrected if I've got this wrong.
  17. I'm going to be in the minority here and agree with Lord Ravenclaw's assessment.
  18. In my original post I had something in the back of my mind that DEN had some association with known forum destroyers, which I went and confirmed later. Probably did that the wrong way around, but my first concern was the security of this site. And yes two of the Admins have couped the region, but they were "family". By declaring for DEN URAP left that association and lost my trust that he would not try and do something stupid forum side. You may find this hard to believe Vlagh, but I count you as TWP family, which means that there is an implicit trust in terms of things like forum security.
  19. Ok I know this is blowing my own trumpet, but this one caused TAO to blow his coffee out of his nose. *waves to Vlagh* We could have done with a bit of your scathing wit here the last 24 hours. I was down to "Yah boo, invaders suck".
