    DAY TWO–HEADLINES
    - The Orandian basketball team wins 89-59 vs. Dilber.
    - The Orandian water polo team loses 6-9 vs. Hertfordshire and Jammbo.
    - The Orandian beach volleyball pair, Evelyn Asplund and Jane Offerdahl, place fourth out of fifth in their group.
    - Windsurfers Jarle Overbay and Therese Hoyland fail to pass the qualifiers, with scores of 91 and 92 respectively. (A lower score is better in windsurfing.) Therese's remarkably good first race, scoring a meager 2 points, was not enough to net her an equally impressive overall score.
    - Star diver Amanda Orvik places first in her 3-m springboard diving qualifying heat with an astounding score of 293.85.
    - Fellow diver Oliver Hougen qualifies as well with a score of 276.15. In a shocking turn of events, Hougen places just above Orvik in the semifinals, by a difference of about three points, but neither of them qualify for the finals.
    - In the 1500-meter freestyle, the ever-popular Ingrid Mundahl loses her last chance to make a splash, failing to pass the qualifiers with a time of 15:18.93. Livia Bengescu, unexpectedly, beats her with a time of 15:16.93, but also does not qualify.
    - Fellow swimmer Viggo Knutsen, however, qualifies with a time of 14:45.10. Viggo comes in sixth in the semifinal, with a time of 14:58.93.

    COMMENTARY
"Lex coming at you live once again from the Esferiad! Today, I thought we'd gather up some comments from the athletes themselves on their performances today. First up is the captain of the Orandian basketball team, Dimitry Gheorghiu. What inspired this turnaround?"
Dimitry: "After the first loss, it's safe to say it sobered us up. We knew it was time to get serious. We were being serious before, of course, this is Esferiad, but I think this put fire in our bellies. And we gave it our best, and I'm proud to say it paid off."
"All right! Next is the talk of the town, Amanda Orvik! Can you tell me what went on in your head when you were making those amazing dives?"
Amanda: "The first dive was kinda harrowing. It happened so fast, I was purely going on instinct. [Laughs] I think that's what really impressed the judges, that's what made it so good. I kind of got it in my head that I could do anything, you know? I took a bit of a risk in that second dive, I was a bit more conscious, and I think that's what got me. Yeah, that got me. It's a good lesson, though. I'll carry it into the 10-meter dive, for sure."
"We couldn't get ahold of Ingrid Mundahl for an interview, unfortunately, so last but not least, here's Viggo Knutsen, semifinalist in the 1500-meter freestyle. How're you feeling, Viggo?"
Viggo: "A strange calm. When you're in there, it's just you and the water and the ends of the lanes. No cheering, no noise when you're submerged. But fifteen minutes is a long time to stay in there. I was still tired going into the second race, my time was not as good. But you don't get to decide when you swim and when you rest here. You have to bring it all right then."
"There you have it, folks, exclusive interviews with Orandia's top athletes. Tune in next time to hear from two bitter rivals in the 100-meter dash, and the return of Kai Haagen and Jonathan Stuart in the multihull event!"

    LOOKING AHEAD–DAY THREE
    - Match day three looms for the Orandian basketball and water polo teams.
    - Match day three is also on the horizon for Evelyn Asplund and Jane Offerdahl, the beach volleyball pair.
    - Kai Haagen and Jonathan Stuart return as a pair for multihull sailing.
    - Amanda Orvik will have to wait for her second shot at a medal. Instead, backstrokers Maiken Morstad, Quentin Sylvestre, and Arnold Nordrum take the stage.
    - Track and field events begin! Berix Tomoiaga and Germaine Rodin compete in the high jump.
    - In the 100-meter dash, rivals Ilie Andreescu and Jean-Christophe Genest go head-to-head. Also in the event is Nina Millet.

    Disappointment Continues in the Esferiad
With day 2 concluded, Tupmonia has yet to see any medals come their way. In tennis Tupmonia combined for a terrible 0-7. Tupmonia also lost in both of their repechage matches in Taekwondo. In baseball Tupmonia looked strong for the first five innings against Nieubasria, keeping the game tied at two, but Nieubasria pulled away in the sixth inning and won 8-4. Additionally, Tupmonia suffered another crushing defeat in basketball. This time against the United Adaikes. Team UAD hit a game winning basket that put them up by one with 0.8 seconds left on the clock. Tupmonia lost 70-69. Evan Walker suffered an ACL tear during the game, and he will be sent back home after averaging a solid 14 points through the two games. Sources say Mitchell Nowell will fly to the games to take his spot. Finally, for beach volleyball Sylvia Marband and Kerry Bulon put up no competition against their opponent, losing by nine or more in both games.
Tupmonia is not doing so hot to start these games off, but hope still remains for other sports.

A New Esferic Record for Saint Mark Dressage!

The Saint Mark Dressage Team set a new Esferic record of 73.560 in the Group A event.
Dressage is often described as “horse dancing” as it features rhythmic footwork, pirouettes and other beautiful moves that the horses display in a routine set to music in the arena. Watching the team's performance was like attending a fine ballet. It's unfortunate that the team couldn't somehow have saved this score for the finals, as it would have earned them a gold. As it turned out, they finished with the bronze medal.
This team continues to gift its audiences with gorgeous displays. Fine work, Saint Mark!

    Amelia Springstein Collapses!

Amelia Springstein, shining star of the Saint Mark Esferic diving team, collapsed after her 3m Springboard medal dive and was rushed to the Kharventhin Teaching Hospital. It was discovered that she suffered a ruptured appendix, but is now resting comfortably after emergency surgery.
Ms. Springstein had been heavily favored to win this event and performed brilliantly in her first heat. She looked to be in some sort of discomfort during the semifinals, but according to sources, shrugged off the concerns and advice of her trainer. In the finals, Ms. Springstein grabbed her side and half dove, half collapsed off the diving board (and still finished eighth). She had to be pulled from the pool and revived before being helicoptered to the hospital.
We applaud her courage and pray for a full recovery.
Ms. Springstein asks that in lieu of flowers, well-wishers donate to the Kharventhin Teaching Hospital.

Giovannilandian Esferiad Report - 2nd Day
    1 Gold - 1 Silver - 1 Bronze
Hello again, Giovannilandians! I am Karlo Nakamura-Edrense, the host of the Giovannilandian Esferiad Report. Today I will present the retrospective of the 2nd day of Esferic events, and briefly talk about the ones of the 3rd day that will start soon today. Firstly, we'll talk about yesterday's events in Kharventhin!
The 3 m Springboard Dive, just like all other aquatic events, happened in the Rano Aquatics Centre. Three of our athletes competed: Amando Nivoso, Venusta Merkuria, and Guillermo Vindemia-Tamudio. While Amando and Venusta could not get past the semifinals, Guillermo made a very strong performance! He ended up 4th in the final, barely missing the podium, but his effort is nevertheless praised.
Following that, we had the best event for Giovanniland in the 2nd day: the 1500 Freestyle Swim. Andreana Viriato, Taide Polari-Annabella, Zutrina Frateriana, and Paulo Varguntio Silva all participated, with Andreana and Zutrina qualifying for the final round. Zutrina earned Giovanniland its first gold of the II Summer Esferiad, while Andreana achieved the bronze! They both shared the podium with none other than our neighbors Blue Bubble, represented by Kaetana Makado.
In the Beach Volleyball event, our pair of Alessander Elessiano-Savora and Elisabetta Santi had some time to rest as they were given a bye. There were also some unfortunate results, however, such as our Taekwondo athlete Amandita Gaudino-Ferenna losing the bronze medal match to Blue Bubble's Takondwa Cardoso. Another example was our Water Polo team sadly losing to Larxia 5-11.
Furthermore, the Sailing Windsurfing and 10 m Air Rifle events also took place, but as I said yesterday, Giovanniland decided to not compete in them. We've seen that our Blue Bubble neighbors performed nicely in them, so congratulations to them!
Meanwhile, in Quorivo, four more events happened. Similar to Beach Volleyball, our Basketball team had a bye, and will hopefully use this to prepare to win their next games as they lost the first one. In Baseball, however, our team won against Dilber and now stands in 2nd place of its group! Our Equestrian Dressage team performance was not that good, finishing 7th of 8 teams in the final; while in Tennis Singles we had a good start as both Karlo Herbario and Saulo Urydesi Afraniano qualified to the next round.
Time to talk about upcoming events now! Here's the list for Kharventhin tomorrow, broadcasted on channels 206 to 210:
    200 m Backstroke Swim featuring Yesse Gilvano-Altada, Lavanda Aselliana, Gigero Neuriano Vitale, and Klodio Giovanni-Santi;
    Judo Stage 1 featuring Alberto Montemorano, Tamara Montemor-Verdi and Raimundo Ligustio;
    Matchday 3 of Water Polo (team event);
    Matchday 3 of Beach Volleyball featuring Alessander Elessiano-Savora and Elisabetta Santi;
Like other days, due to the limit of 150 entries, Giovanniland chose to not participate in a few events: the next ones in which this will happen are Sailing Multihull and Trap Shooting. Meanwhile, the following are the events in Quorivo, broadcasted on channels 201 to 205:
    100 m Run featuring Kyro Velsio-Sousa, Humberto Takeda, Telles Arpineyo, and Roberto Arvale;
    High Jump featuring Frankina Savorana-Lauro, Vanda Kupienno, and Konrado Trieste;
    Equestrian Eventing Individuals featuring Klementina Regio-Amanda and Ivone Lauro Hamada;
    Tennis Singles Finals featuring Karlo Herbario and Saulo Urydesi Afraniano;
    Matchday 3 of Baseball (team event);
    Matchday 3 of Basketball (team event);
That is the schedule for the third day of Esferic events! You can watch live events on the channels 201 to 210, and for members of our monthly subscription, we also have recordings in our website sportsreport.com.gl/esferiad/ii/events if you aren't able to check them live. See you tomorrow for another report!

    FHAENGSHIA TAHDAONI AE ESFAERIADH
    Fhaengshia Esferiad Committee

Flying from Fhaendhaw to Quoriv aboard chartered flights for the setting up and the opening ceremony, the Fhaengshian Esferiadians and support crew flew on larger foreign made jets capable of carrying larger amounts of passengers further distances than the locally made Juortiel J-8's that flew the Fhaengshian First XI Cricket team to Larxia. Though all were under the National flag carrier of Air Fhaengshia.
The delegation was proud to parade in the national colours during the grand opening ceremony before dispersing between the two cities for the upcoming events. Swimmers and Sailers left for Kharventhin in Blue Bubble, Keppoeni Ianjid came close to qualifying for the semifinals of the 200m freestyle on day 1, but both Joilstuim Mourtnad and Kolstae Murei qualified for the one person dinghy sailing finals also in the Blue Bubble city, though both failed to reach the podium in the final. In team sports the Water Polo team had a rocky start, but the Basketball team in Quoriv was more successful.
Day 2 saw the windsurfing participants struggle in a large pack of competitors, and the Water Polo and Basketball teams both suffered losses. Day 3 sees more sailing and swimming, the start of track and field events and continuation of the team sports, the athletes are keen to get the nation onto the medal tally as more events open up during the 2 week event.

The Bauhaus Novel - Conversation Street - Episode 4: Character Roster

The Conversation Street jingle plays while a silhouette image shows Hammond hitting Clarkson over the head with a bottle. Clarkson later said "that really hurt, just to be absolutely clear with you that really really hurt". Yeah, the intro froze before the good bit, sorry.
Jeremy Clarkson: Hello and welcome to a special edition of The Bauhaus Novel. Actually, hang on, why is it special?
James May: It's special because you two won't be around to be in it.
    Richard Hammond: Hang on, what?
Jeremy Clarkson: James, is there any way in which we can help?
James May: I know how you can help me, why don't you two go away?
    Richard Hammond: Oooooo, alright.
Jeremy Clarkson: Alright fine, we'll leave you to it.
    James May: Thank you.

Jeremy & Richard eventually leave James to it, but not before mucking about with a car's onboard camera. Yeah, we're filming this one outside.
James May: Alright, now that we're alone viewers, it's good news! I have managed to get the HNJEK character roster (it's actually athlete roster but who cares?) ready for publication. Admittedly, the images proved much too large for the station to take originally so the quality is a bit ham-fisted. Now who's ready to see it, actually don't answer that I'm sure you all are. So this is goodbye from me but I'll still be here if any questions come through the fax machine. In the next episode, we shall be introducing a brand new feature headed by Richard Hammond. Take care, goodbye.

So May got his alone time in the end, as brief as it was because Clarkson & Hammond burst in to mock him for his slowness and need to put 6 hour pre-flight checks on everything. Either way, time to depart for the time being. Some say we know why Blue Bubble have utterly dominated this Esferiad so far... but we don't, and that we also know how Arifiyyah have managed to report from our Prime Minister... but again we don't.  All we know is, we're the HNJEK and we bid you farewell.

SAINT AIADEN (SAS) - Ancient Crusader Sword Found By Scuba Diver Off Basric Coast
A Basric scuba diver has salvaged an ancient sword off the country’s Cabotian coast that experts say dates back to the Crusaders. Nieubasria's Antiquities and Relics Office said Tuesday the man was on a weekend dive in northern Nieubasria when he spotted a small trove of ancient artifacts that included coin, pottery and a meter-long sword. The diver reported the location of the trove was only 100 meters off the coast and barely five meters deep.
Experts say the area may have provided shelter for ancient ships and could home to many archaeological treasures, some dating back 3,000 years. Fearing his discovery might be buried by the constantly shifting sands, the diver took the sword ashore and delivered it to government experts. The weapon is estimated to be 900 years old, approximately dated around the time of the First Dalimbari Crusade.
“It was found encrusted with marine organisms, but is apparently made of iron,” said Máel Sechlainn, an inspector in the Office’s robbery prevention unit. “It is exciting to encounter such a personal object, taking you 900 years back in time to a different era, with knights, armor and swords.”
The sword is to be cleaned and further analyzed, while the diver, identified as Climent Gwil, was given a certificate of appreciation for good citizenship.
The Antiquities and Relics Office have taken custody of the sword and have dispatched professional marine recovery units to the reported discovery location.

    2ND DAY OF SUMMER ESFERIAD
Greetings everyone, the results of the second day have come out, 6 athletes and one Arifiyyah team have been in action.
Pandalela Renang and Nur Dhabitah competed in the 3m springboard diving event. Pandalela made it to the finals, and finished in 11th place. Meanwhile, Nur Dhabitah, the 18 -year -old national diver, failed to qualify for the semifinals after finished at 7th in heat 5.

    3m springboard dive final result

For the 1500m free style swimming, Albert Soffian and Lee Kuan Cheng both failed to qualify for the semi-finals after finished at 5th and 7th in the heat. And also with Nabil Ahmad failed to qualify for the windsurfing final.

It was also an unfortunate day for the national basketball squad after once again losing to the H&J national squad with a final point of 85-67. The national squad is currently at the bottom of group B without any point. "So, these two games are very difficult for us. However, we still have a chance to get at least 1 victory. We will strive to get a victory for all Arifians",said the national team captain,

and this is the latest ranking of medals by country.

Blue Bubble still on the top with 4 gold 6 silver and 5 bronze, follow up by Hertfordshire and Jammbo with 3 gold and 1 bronze. Meanwhile Arifiyyah still without any medal.

We hope the best for tomorrow. Reported from Quoriv, Giovanniland. See you next time.

    HEADLINES – DAY ONE
    - Jesper Herre makes it past the first heat of the 200-meter freestyle, with a time of 1:58.45. However, he places 15th in the semifinal, cutting him out of the competition.
    - Ingrid Mundahl, despite all eyes being on her, flops with a time of 2.00.95, not making it past the qualifiers.
    - Axelle Reverdin, despite routinely beating Mundahl in training sprints, fares even worse with a time of 2.04.20. David Donnet clocks in at 2.03.84.
    - Kai Haagen places 15th in dinghy sailing. Fellow athletes Jonathan Stuart and Julia D'Amboise place 22nd and 23rd, respectively.
    - Evelyn Asplund and Jane Offerdahl, the beach volleyball pair, lose to Nieubasria, 13/16-21/21.
    - The Orandian water polo team loses to Fujai, 11-10. Very close!
    - The Orandian basketball team loses to Dilber, 89-65.
    - The Orandian artistic swimming team places ninth.
No medals so far. We hope to change this in Day Two!

COMMENTARY (by Lex Lascar, reporter for the Esferiad Committee)
"Especially with her bearing the flag with Amanda last night, the nation has been cheering so hard for Ingrid. Qualifying for two events in the Esferiad, no matter how closely related, is no small task. When asked about her less-than-impressive 200-meter run, she insisted she has always been a better distance swimmer than sprinter, and that this failure will only push her further to succeed when she takes on the 1500-meter freestyle tomorrow.
"Jesper Herre has captured the hearts of many Orandians today, as the only athlete thus far to qualify for a semi-final. He admits to not expecting this degree of success–he was genuinely surprised to hear he had placed third in his heat. And despite his low placement in the semifinals, he remained a good sport. At the end of the race, he could be seen exchanging a few kind words with the athletes in adjacent lanes. We here at the Esferiad Committee are very proud of him, and I'm sure much of Orandia is too.
"And Axelle Reverdin, placing last in her heat, seems to have hurt a muscle in her leg during training exercises. Whether it came from a desire to stay ahead of Ingrid, I can't say, but I certainly hope she's back in peak form when she returns to the pool for the relay event."

    LOOKING FORWARD TO DAY TWO
    - The Orandian beach volleyball team takes the stage.
    - Therese Hoyland and Jarle Overbay compete in Windsurfing.
    - Ingrid Mundahl has her second and final chance at a medal in the 1500-meter freestyle. Also in the event are Viggo Knutsen and Livia Bengescu.
    - Headline-making diving star Amanda Orvik performs in the 3-meter springboard dive. Also in the event is Oliver Hougen.

The Bauhaus Novel - Conversation Street - Episode 3: Review of Day 1

Jeremy Clarkson: Hello and welcome to the newly named news department of the HNJEK, The Bauhaus Novel!
Richard Hammond: Yes, we have a refurbished new look including quotes from certain athletes taking part for our country and we will kick things off with a bang! So now let's all check our mirrors, and make a smooth left into Conversation Street. [cheeky smile holding back laughter]

The Conversation Street jingle plays. It is a very jazzy jingle.
Jeremy Clarkson: Why was I in high heels?
Richard Hammond: Oh, you must have gone through James' shoes by mistake.
Jeremy Clarkson: *slowly descends into laughter*
James May: I heard that you pillocks!
Richard Hammond: Did we say you could speak?
Jeremy Clarkson: Yeah, honestly James, you need to hurry up with the roster, now back to work.
    James May: *light grumbling*
Jeremy Clarkson: Right, now where were we?
Richard Hammond: We were going to reveal the results of each athlete and team on Day 1. We won 1 gold with Rantaro Antonenko setting a new record in Equestrian Individual Dressage while both sharpshooter Ringo Romanyuk, former mafia boss Diavolo Kucherenko and our Artistic Swimming team all came agonisingly close to winning medals as well. Interestingly co-hosts Blue Bubble took all 3 podium places in 10m Air Pistol Shooting and since Hertfordshire & Jammbo is a nation that likes to challenge the dominance-quo so to speak, Ringo being beaten by just 0.4 points by Meklit Guntur really hurt.
Jeremy Clarkson: Hmm, yeah, but no matter, for we shall do better in the following days!
Richard Hammond: That I hope we shall, so Jeremy, where are the results files?
Jeremy Clarkson: Ah, well, you see...
    Richard Hammond: Oh god.
Jeremy Clarkson: Me and Kramer were so busy sorting out the new format for our news show that we kind of forgot to actually do the results files. So I think we're going to have to do those tomorrow.
James May: What did I tell you Richard? I knew Jeremy would cock up at some point.
Richard Hammond: Amazingly, I actually regret not listening to your advice.
James May: Your kind words are received in full.
Richard Hammond: Anyway, that is the end of Conversation Street. We were going to have it longer but a certain shaved ape in a shirt can't do paperwork or manual labour.
Jeremy Clarkson: I'm allergic to manual labour, you know that.
    James May: Shut up Jeremy.
Richard Hammond: Keep watching the screen for the events and Hertfordian/Jammbian participants of Day 2. Until next time, goodbye!
James May: Oh chaps, hang on, I finally completed the character roster!
    Richard Hammond: About time!
Events/Ívents Athletes/Àølīts 3m Springboard Diving Jack Borisov, Gankyo Kostova 1,500m Freestyle Swimming King Valchev, Hank Hordiyenko, Jonathan Deeustä Equestrian Team Dressage Rantaro Antonenko + Klug Nankov Windsurfing Sailing Zeo Ȩbis, Suu Strashilova 10m Air Rifle Shooting Karen Kovalenko, Rita Dacheva Tennis Singles Stage 1 Mina Medne, Feli Petruk Individual Taekwondo Finals Naho Sotirova, Vekar Griķis Baseball Matchday 2 Hertfordia Baseball Beach Volleyball Matchday 2 Frisk Dachev + Robert Spïďwagen Water Polo Matchday 2 Hertfordshire and Jammbo Water Polo Team Basketball Matchday 2 Hertfordia Basketball The schedule for Day 2 is here displayed on the screen. The organizers remembered to put Basketball in the correct slots this time so that's good.

So with James correcting his blunder and Jeremy swiftly replacing it with his own, the wait was now on for what Richard would mess up. We all know the wait won't be long. Now let's move on to leaving for the day. Some say that our files can dance like today's Conversation Street intro, and that Prince Marcarius uses our floor tiles for his transports brakes...
Richard Hammond: You're making this stuff up mate! Wha-
Jeremy Clarkson: That's what you do. To get in the papers, you just make up statistics, they get printed and you sound really good.
...O...kay then. Anyway, all we know is, we're probably being sued for libel. Goodnight!

Paul Emberfell, the nephew of The Archbishop of Sanctus Leo, is a rising star in international archery. Although Prince Marcarius bested him at the Saint Markan Regionals, Mr. Emberfell has risen to the top here on Lavender Island. He is the third son of Archibald Emberfell, professor of history at the Markan Institue of the Arcane, and engaged to fashion designer, Mariah Gale. Mr. Emberfell has been devoted to archery since his childhood and has won First Place in The Auran Games and Silver in the Saint Markan Regionals.
This is a proud day for our nation. It is hoped that these three medals will be the start of many more. Huzzah for Saint Mark!

Jak: Well, all, I have to take a moment.
    James nods solemnly
Jak: We are a nation of low expectations, we understand it's our first games.
    James: but here we are.
Jak: here we are. End of day one.
James: top of the leaderboard, baby! Oh, yeah!
James punches the air as Jak wipes a tear from his eye
Jak: I know it's early but oh all above, beyond, and within this is just great to see
    James: absolutely wonderful
    Jak: absolutely.
They take a moment to get themselves together then grin at the camera
Jak: To look into today, and for the rest of the games, we have Kasper Petrovikan as our inside on the other side. Hello!
Kasper: Hello! Thanks for the opportunity. I can't wait to share my opinions on sports I don't know about
    Jak: thank our supervisor!
    They all laugh
James: so let's start with you. That silver win.
Kasper giggles into a sigh, grinning as he holds it up
    Kasper: this one?
Jak: that's the one! What happened when you realised that you'd be on the medal table?
Kasper: my heart stopped, all I could think was that my sister was right there like right behind me in the seating area. She is a very private person, but like I felt that pride, that love. So, taking a look at her, and have her almost jumping to hug me. Ugh, She's my biggest supporter, no matter what political thing is happening, she is there for my competitions. It's a lot. This is a lot. I'm glad I got silver and that Jana got bronze.
Jak: You really just love to see it, honestly. Everyone is proud of you both.
James: You know who else I am proud of, the pistol team.
Kasper: Oh my god, yes! All 3 metals. Such a power play.
Jak: and a new world record!
Kasper: Kass is back in Blue Bubble now, so she is celebrating with them or something. I don't know.
James, trying not to laugh: What do you mean you don't know?
Kasper: I'm the fun sibling, she is all like blah blah diplomatic relations
    Jak tries not to laugh
Kasper: I shouldn't say that on TV, should I? MOVING ON, the rest of the sports for today?
James: Decent. Like, we came forth in some... but shame about the sailing, honestly.
Jak: I was hoping we would do better with that, but... at least we expected the baseball.
Kasper: I actually love our baseball team, they won't take this as a sore loss.
James: Very true. Shall we look at tomorrow's events?
Jak: Fab Idea, do the thing Kasper!
Kasper: So Tomorrow is still going to be fun - 3 m Springboard Dive, we have Vasilyev and Patel. I am expecting them to be comfortable - nothing special from them.
Then the 1500 m Freestyle Swim, we have Marritt and Line again - Line came 4th today, and Marritt did not get past the heats. I am hoping for some claw back, but I am not holding out there. Now, Sailing Windsurfing, I had some High Hopes for Gawa and Ichimo, but after today's result - I am just unsure. 10 m Air Rifle, I am wishing for a decent score from those 3, but They aren't as strong as today's team. Maybe a 3rd place will do. I like the sound of that. We have two in the Tennis Singles, I am not expecting record breakers with them, just a clean performance. Oh yeah, you must watch the Taekwondo Finals, looks to be Blue Bubble VS Hertfordshire knockout if I can read correctly- I am confident in them, they did wonderful today. We will also be in tomorrow's Water Polo and Beach Volleyball events - again, a bronze will be nice. Overall, I predict some slight rain and maybe a rainbow or two - average all round, with one or two medals if we have the push.
James: Thank you, Kasper, for your thoughts. Now over to our highlights of the day!

"I'm Lex Lascar, reporting live from the Grand Esferic Stadium in Quoriv.
"The Opening Ceremonies of the Second Summer Esferiad went off without a hitch! I'm sure everyone enjoyed the incredible performances put on by the host nations. I don't know about you, but I always like a good story of reconciliation. And the music was, of course, flawless. But I'm sure what you all tuned in tonight to hear about was our own Orandia's presence in the parade of nations on this opening night! We'll take you right to the center of it."
[The camera cuts to another reporter next to two athletes wearing loud suits in Orandia's national colors. Between them, the athletes are holding the Orandian flag.]
"Thank you, Lex. I am Angela Dalca, and these are our lovely flag-bearers. The only Orandian athletes to take on two individual events this year, it's Amanda Orvik and Ingrid Mundahl! Ladies, what has being here tonight and bearing the flag been like?"
    [Amanda Orvik–Springboard and Platform Diving]
"To be honest, Angela, it's like a dream come true. I've been wanting to do something like this since I was a little kid. I'm really proud of all the work I've put in, and everyone who's supported me. I think getting to hold the flag with Ingrid is like the cherry on top. It's all been a magical experience."
    [Ingrid Mundahl–200 and 1500 m Freestyle]
"Like Amanda said, it's a dream. There are lots of people and flashing lights, but getting to represent Orandia like this is definitely worth it. I've been kinda dazzled by it this whole time, Amanda has been guiding me through it. [Laughs] It's definitely been fun."
"Well, I won't keep you any longer, ladies. I'm sure it's been a long night for everyone, and good luck on your flag-bearing duties. Back to you in the studio, Lex."

embubbleblue reacted to Tupmonia in II Summer Esferiad Roleplay/IC
    The Tupmonian Times
Concluding the day 1 results of the II Summer Esferiad, Tupmonia put on a disappointing show to say the least. The teams placed in the bottom rankings for nearly every sport they participated in. Most notably the Tupmonian basketball team. Tupmonias basketball team lost 74-67 to Team Fuentana in a thrilling game. Chris Randle, the team captain had a upsetting night, putting up only 12 points, 6 rebounds, and 4 assists. Julius Paul commented on the team performance saying, "We gotta do better out there. The people of Tupmonia put us to a certain standard and we let them down, and the king down. We gotta keep our heads up and bounce back." Although the team suffered a depressing loss they're confident for the games to come.
Tupmonia's best performance came in Individual Archery where Hindro Lingbuw and Larry Culfin both finished in the top sixteen.
Tupmonia looks to recover from their frustrating performance in the days to come. Additionally, King Joseph VII has arrived to Giovanniland shortly after the conclusion of the first day of the games.

embubbleblue reacted to Larxia in II Summer Esferiad Roleplay/IC
    October 25th, 1421
Mario: Greetings fellow Larxians, I am Mario Ruiz, and I bring you the news of Esferiad currently being hosted by Giovanniland and Blue Bubble. I believe that most of y'all have been following the Esferiad Games live, on our sister-channels LSPN 1 through 4. If you're not watching the live telecasts, and need a short summary of what happened, you are in the right place. The first day of the Esferiad was quite eventful for nations like Larxia, Blue Bubble, Saint Mark. Blue Bubble, the co-hosts of the competition started the Esferiads with a big haul of 5 medals on Day 1. Saint Mark had a haul of 3 medals, while Larxia, Nieubasria and Santos-Dominius added two medals to their tallies, with the three nations winning a gold medal and a bronze medal each. Onto news regarding Larxia, we won a gold, which was brought to us by Michael Phillip, who in doing so, also equalled the Esferic record for 200 m Freestyle Swim. Isn't that an achievement to be proud of. This was the 19 year-old's first Esferiad appearance, and he managed to snag a gold in his primary event. Needless to say, all eyes will be on him as we will see him in action in the other swimming events. Our on-location crew tried to get an interview with Phillip, but he replied that he could not come on air as he had to practice for the remaining events, but has promised us time after the Esferiads have culminated. Our other medal came in Artistic Swimming. You could see the amazing coordination between the team-mates. This event also saw the first Gold-Medal tie of the II Esferiad, between Nieubasria and Santos-Dominius. I will now pass over the "torch"(exaggerated air quotes) to Natasha Diaz in Quoriv. Over to your Nat.
Natasha: Thank you Mario, I'm here in Quoriv, where Larxian fans have flocked to the stadiums to support our athletes. You could see atleast one Larxian flag every 2-3 rows of stands. The turnout has been completely overwhelming, and the athetes have shown in their performanes, how much the supporters' presence means to them. Moving onto the status of the competition here in Quoriv, the Larxian Baseball team managed to overcome the team from United Adaikes, in a close match, ending 5-2. The Basketball team also managed to handily defeat their counterparts from Fujai 75-51. Archery was a little underwhelming for our nation, as archer Alex Garcia fell short of qualification by one position. That is all the news related to Larxia here in Quoriv. Back to you Mario.
Mario: Thank you Nat. Now we will move onto the events taking place in Kharventhin. The report in Kharventhin will be brought to you by our on-field team, led by my colleague, Jamie Olivier. Over to you Ollie.
Jamie: Thanks a lot Mario, and welcome to Kharventhin, where our very own Michael Phillip has tied the Esferic record for the 200 m Freestyle Swim. It is definitely a moment to be proud of, as a Larxian has made a mark in the history books of the sport. Also, both the medals won by Larxia on Day 1 were won here, in Kharventhin. It would seem that our treaty and friendship with the Glenpavians is our lucky charm. In other news in Kharventhin, the Beach Volleyball duo of Davide Garcia and Max Velasco lost a close defeat to the duo from Teralyon, losing both sets 21-19. Considering how close this match was, I would say that our dynamic duo have a really good chance of making a comeback. In the 10 m Air Pistol event, Larxia's Riley Brooks lost out on qualifying for the finals even though she had the same amount of points as the last qualifying person, Nine Leiffson from Dalimbar. We do not have the full knowledge as to what the rules are in case of something like this, but Riley has accepted what has happened with her, and is looking towards the future, probably making sure she qualifies safely, so such a situation doesn't arise again. Our Water Polo team suffered a really close defeat to the Cambrians, losing 8-6, which is not that bad. They definitely have a shot at qualification. I believe that is all for today, thank you, and back to you Mario.
Mario: Thank you Jamie for the updates in Kharventhin. Thank you for tuning in to the show. We'll meet again tomorrow, same place same time. Till then, Adiós, Auf Wiedersehen, Goodbye.
