MALLORCAN DELEGATION ENDS THE OLYMPICS IN STYLE.
Ladies and gentlemen, what a heart-pounding week this has been! At Saint-Josalyn, we have seen thrilling bursts of excitement, fast-paced events, close finishes, victory and defeat, and in the end, marble Mallorca departs with a grand total of 10 medals! (4 gold, 3 silver, 3 bronze)! So, without further a do, I say we look at all the events and mishaps that happened during the fantastic week!
    DAY ONE
Day one will be reminded by its incredible opening ceremony, other than Mallorca's incredibly spheric ceremony, so many events are to be remembered I don't even have time to name them all, yet my personal favorites would be Prince Marcarius triumphant arrival, Zoran's opening ceremony, that one could call "explosive" and finally Novasamita's infamous release of chickens upon their arrival! However, an opening ceremony is but a fraction of what happened at the olympics, now on with the events! The games started off with the 4x200 medley swim, where the Mallorcan team, composed of Rapidly Savsped, Choc Choclatè, Wospy Midwisia and Kinnowin Or-An-Ger, successfully qualified for the final and, although, they might only have achieved 5th place, what truly was remembered there was the cooperation between two rival athletes of two rival states: Kinnowin and Rapidly. Though Hop Jujum only got 15th in Archery, he probably will be seeking for redemption in the Marblympics 1420, which, however, will not be the case of Blizzard Gligali, who had announced its retirement in 1418 but had come back only for the olympics. Alongside Blizzard, on the other hand, was Smoggy Hazeren, who we could call the biggest disappointment of the games, who arrived 33rd out or 34, in the 400 meter run. It does seem like running events was not our team's strongest fit as Spade Blaja also, failed to notice himself with his 15th place in the 1500 meter. One athlete, however, did gain attention after his 6th place in the Canoe Slalom, Mallard Greduci, who will be competing in the ML alongside the other Green Ducks members.Meanwhile in Badminton, Echo and Fearo Teplas cruised their way through the first two round of badminton doubles unopposed.
    DAY TWO
The second day of the olympics started with a sense of disappointment due to Rojodos Rojrol missing the high jump final by only one spot. This disappointment was further amplified when Bombay Greduci obtained the dreaded 4th spot in the one-person dinghy race. However, this culminating sense of "MAM isn't gonna win any medals" was washed away when Echo and Fearo stepped on the second step of the podium, thus gaining Mallorca their first medal of the game.
    DAY THREE
Day three and four was the start of a new turn for the Mallorcan team, with the arrival on the field of Mallorca's most competent athletes as well as, of course, the arrival of Mallorca's leader, Nico Unordille, in the fencing event. The fencing event also saw the first-round defeat of Mandarin Or-An-Ger by none other than Glen Woods, who appeared to be the most competent athlete in fencing (at would later gain silver) whereas Unordille won all three matches, propulsing him into the semi-finals, three rounds further than anyone expected for someone who's full-time job is sitting in a parliament and making speeches. Finally, the arrival of Roy Rasprec, winner of the 1419 Marblelympics, along with Taffy Jabreku, into the semifinals of Tennis doubles revived the hope of Mallorcans in their national team.
    DAY FOUR
Day four is the day with the most medals gained, with 40% of the total medals earned at the halfway mark of the olympics. However, if the day had been the same as how it started, it probably wouldn't be the case. With the disappointing finishes of Yelley Meyella (3 meter springboard diving-13th), the unfortunate 5th place in the 4x100 relay and the double defeats of Spade Blaja and Quickly Savsped in the marathon, the medal count on day 4 was looking pretty dire. However, the whole situation shifted when the long jump started, with Cocoa Choclatè and Wospy Midwisia (ML 1418 winner) respectively gained silver and bronze, with Cocoa missing gold by only 0.02 m! (Bolty Thubol was also there but he got 16th so F). Mallorca's next surprise was in fencing, where underdog/head of state Nico Unordille gaining the first gold of the games in an action-packed final against none other than Glen Woods, who had notoriously defeated Mandarin the day before, after an incredible comeback in the fencing final (3-6 ---> 8-7)! Mallorca's 4th medal came in the colour of bronze after our beloved tennis double crushed T&C's tennis double in the game for third place. Also, despite not winning any medals, the performances of Clutter Baocao and Tangerin Or-An-Ger is truly one to be remembered.
    DAY FIVE
When come to think of it, day five was quite similar to day four, if only you replace the head of state winning a medal by a criminal condemned to 12 years in prison winning one (we'll come to that later). Day five, just like the day before started in disappointments, with (another) defeat of Yelley Meyella as well as the 5th place of Shore Oceic in the 10m diving platform, losing at the gates of the podium. But the disappointment did not stop there, after the14th place of Choc Choclatè in the 10k swim, the second medaless top five of the Green Ducks in the Canoeing 2-person 1000m sprint and the 5th place of Foggy Hazeren in the hurdles, it seemed like to morale and fate rested on three of the top athletes in the country: Starry Tegal, the literal face of Marble Sports in Mallorca, had gained the most points in ML 1417 by 20pts and still is in the top 3 for points gained all ML combined, Wuspy Midwisia, part of the Midnight Wisps, who emerged victors of the ML 1418 after an unthinkable comeback and Razzy Rasprec, were now side by side in the hurdles starting bloc. When seeing them together is when I realised: Mallorca had not given up yet. If it wasn't for Will Nankov (HEJ), they would have won the top three slots in the heat, yet what truly was marking was Starry's sub-13 seconds performance, giving him, after he had only gotten fifth in the 4x100m relay, an uncontested gold. The final medalist on day 5 was not the one people expected, out of the dozens of athlete present in Saint-Josalyn, no one probably expected the orchestrer of the largest digital robbery in the West Pacific's history, yet this is what happened after Vespa Horne, who had single-handedly hacked the 5 largest banks in Marble Mallorca, and was sentenced to 12 years (abbreviated to 10) in 1409, to win bronze in the Javelin throw, just goes to show you anything can happen in the olympics...
Be reassured Vespa was kept under strict surveillance by police officers during her stay Reçueçn, and kept away from any digital devices, yet still managed to hack the Reçueçn government website with the help of the connected device that was used to release the marble during the opening ceremony, and was noticed right afterwards, no harm was done.
    DAY SIX
The sixth day of the olympics saw to medals be added to the Mallorcan collection, we could only mention these two, but we wouldn't be Mallorca's top news source if we didn't go over every single one of them. The day started off with Choc's (third) defeat in the 1500m freestyle swim followed by Choc's (fourth) defeat in the 200m backstroke swim, but that time at least, Wospy Midwisia (ML 1418 champion) and Kinnowin Or-An-Ger (ML 1417 champion, second most points won in the ML) made it to the final, where Wospy swam to second, only behind Selu Quidedaduya from Zoran, this was then followed with the performance of Mallorca's youngest athlete Cruch Turslid, who made it to the second phase of hammer throwing only at 18 years old! However, with only a handful of events remaining and "only" seven medals to their name, the Mallorcan team was starting to get desperate to achieve their goal of 10 medals and needed a gold to go up in the standings, and this time, help would come from where it was needed most: on their fourth attempt, and with the team finally assembled and complete, the Green Ducks boating team launched itself against the event that made its reputation: the Rowing coxless fours. After what one could call a hesitant start, the green ducks sailed to victory in rowing, by winning the third gold of the competitions!
    DAY SEVEN
Day seven, however was another day without a medal, and since we are getting very short on time to film this I will do this quickly. The 200m freestyle swim having Quacky Greduci and Hazzy Hazeren qualifying but failing to get a medal while Rapidly Savsped and-

GOD DAMN IT CHOC HOW MANY TIMES ARE YOU GOING TO FAIL IN THESE OLYMPICS, I SWEAR TO GOD...HOW DID YOU EVEN GET SELECTED FOR ALL OF THESE I CANT EVEN...
    Camera cuts
Ahem, please excuse me for my sudden burst. Anyways, moving on, we then had Ducky Greduci go up on the rowing single sculls, yet it appears it is only united that the Green Ducks reach their full potential as he ended up 19th. Finally, in the last two events for Mallorca that day, both fighting events, Tumult Baocao and Diego Indista sure did put up an excellent performance. However, only Diego managed to pass the the quarter finals.
    DAY EIGHT
In the olympics penultimate day, Yellup Meyella represented our national colours in the final water event, the incredibly complex 200m butterfly swim. Sadly, he missed the finals by only one spot and a mere 5 hundreds of a second. This was the final straw for the Mallorcan team, they were still missing one medal to achieve their goal and Vespa was still in custody due to het hacking of the governmental website. With only four disciplines left for them and only two were they really stood a chance, every athlete gathered to watch the most emblematic event of the olympics: the 100m. Mallorca had gone all in for the event and sent four athletes for the races: Greeneye Craceye, Smoggy Hazeren, Yellah Meyella and Quickly Savsped (ML 1416 champion). In heat 2, Greeneye got 3rd while Smoggy placed dead last, none of those were enouhgh to make it to the final. Meanwhile in heat 3, Yellah ended 5th. Quickly, however, dashed to the finish line, over taking Kyle Senning (NTA) and James Bolt (LXA) by one hundredth of a second each, placing him in second and giving him the seventh out of 10 qualifying spots. Now alone in the final, Quickly had to do the best running of his life to win a medal. During the race, him and Venuska Benesch (TLN) drifted in front of the other 8 runners (who all ended within a tenth of a second of each other). However, the gold medal was up in the air until the final five meters, where Quickly finally managed to over take Benesch and win Mallorca's tenth medal and fourth golds by 4 hundreds of a second! The games were pretty much over at this point, but some performances, such as Diego Indista's 4th place in Wrestling as well as our athletes in the single tennis event : Mintyflav Minma, Roy Rasprec and Taffy Jabreku and Leap Jujum in the 10m air shooting
I would like to talk about the ML1420 coming tomorrow and how all our athletes are scrambling to get to Galactic city before it starts since approximately a third of athletes present in the ML were one continent away yesterday, sadly, my time is up for this news report, this was Rick O'Shea, for the Rollout news, until next time!

GRAND FINALE: Days 8 and 9

Jan Stebbelhaum live at the closing ceremony in Saint-Josalyn, here to give you a live broadcast of the ceremony and a summary of days 8 and 9! We were unable to broadcast the 8th day report due to a technical problem, so we apologize for the delay! Anyway, the past 2 days were fairly good for our delegation, and this closing ceremony is certainly a  for them and the Novasamitan fans here in Tara and Cambray! Here's a summary:
Day 8 - The 100 m run was not a very lucky event for Novasamita, with Viktor Sumaawalait failing to even qualify for the list. Kyle Senning was more successful, ending up 8th in the overall, and 10th in the final. Both are willing to compete next year, as they find the Olympics an event to enhance their skill. - For the Tennis singles, Ruth NaOnwe did well in the first round, defeating Sania Ahmed of Larxia, but was later defeated by Hedwig Blackcross of St. Mark in the second round. - The Novasamitan Roosters basketball team was defeated in the semifinals, against Hertfordia, by a slim 2 points. 74-72. - The Rugby Sevens team experienced no luck either, defeated by 2 points as well by Fujai. - The Volleyball team defeated Nieubasria in the semifinals, 105-97. Day 9
    - The Bronze Medal game for the basketball event wasn't very good for Novasamita, being defeated again by Nieubasria, 64-75.
    - Rugby sevens wasn't lucky either, with Giovanniland pounding our team, 31-7.
    - The volleyball team grabbed gold from Hertfordia, 107-102.
That's about it for our final report on the Olympics! Now let's watch th- lights cut off, followed by scream and smoke
[Cameraman] Oh sh*t, the lights are out!

[Jan] I know the lights are out!
[overlapping with Jan] Where's my medals?!   [from main studio, Ilirovia] Jan, you guys OK there?   [Jan] It seems that the lights went out and-there's smoke coming from the podium, folks! We-   broadcast cuts off, replaced by the following:
It seems we have had technical difficulties connecting with the crew. We will be back later for an update.

    16 June 1420
From an undisclosed location in Saint-Josalyn, a man sits in a hotel room watching the live feed of the Olympic events
I have been planning this theft for months, soon my time to strike will come. This will be my biggest theft yet...my fingers tingle with anticipation. I already have everything set up, all I have to do now is wait for the medal ceremony. I won't be able to steal from all of the athletes, but I will be able to steal from all the athletes of two countries...Hertfordshire and Zoran. I am CGZ, not the original CGZ from centuries ago but I am the latest incarnation of him. Soon the entire criminal underworld will know that the King of Thieves has risen again and that CGZ has returned. I have gone through intense training from my father and I have learned from the teachings compiled by all previous incarnations of CGZ to hone my skills. I started with petty thefts and small heists but this is my moment, this will be the time to show that CGZ is back.
Looks at his suitcase which contains the most modern and updated version of his family's infamous suit
Thankfully, the suit won’t leave any trace of my DNA and has a few gadgets that will help me in my escape should the Inquisitors of T&C come looking for me. It is made of multiple layers of graphene so it should grant me some decent protection against bullets and due to its flexible nature it shouldn’t restrict my movement. It also has some insulation to grant me some protection from IR should they use it, it isn’t much though because too much of it would reduce my maneuverability but it is just enough to buy me some time should something go wrong. My helmet mask has gas filters built into it that should block out any harmful gas they may use as well as night vision. Should I have to swim or hide underwater, I can switch the gas filters out for a rebreather. Modern technology has really allowed for me to be prepared should something go wrong but I know things won’t go wrong...nothing can stop CGZ.

Hertfordian Confederal Olympic Committee - Häřtferdien Ķenfedrel Ęlimpik Kęmitī
Hello and welcome to this handy guide to the monarchical system of Hertfordia. This has been penned in response to accusations of foul play within our qualification system that decides who will become an athlete for our nation. We wish to explain to those who get confused with the country's system in the best possible way we can. Strap yourselves in, folk!
    Part 1: The Monarchy
Hertfordia is a monarchy. That is only the tip of the story, though. Hertfordia runs a rather unorthodox system known as 'Confederal Parliamentary Elective Constitutional Monarchy' or CPECM for short. Basically, the monarchy of Hertfordia has existed since ancient times, when the country was first founded. Only recently in 1418 did the previous Prime Minister issue a proposal, which passed overwhelmingly in the Verkhovna Anglia, to abolish the hereditary monarchy and replace it with an elective monarchy.
To be able to run for the position of King/Queen/Tsar/Tsaress of Hertfordia (Formerly Grand Duke), a few requirements need to be met: 1) You must be 21 or over - 2) You must have completed all forms of mandatory education - 3) You must have taken a university course in politics and/or national history - 4) You must be born in Hertfordia to native parents - 5) You must not have ever committed a crime of any sort.
If you can meet all these criteria, them you can easily be accepted as a candidate, and then start convincing the people why you should be the head of state. There are reasons for each of these. 1 is purely traditional, we have always had elections where people can join from 21 years of age. 2 and 3 are to make sure the monarch is not just some bumbling fool who drives Hertfordia into the ground. 4 is to make sure only Hertfordians/Jammbians/etc. can rule Hertfordia and has the express purpose of preventing foreigners from being eligible for the Crown of St. Edmund. 5, well, who wants a convicted criminal in power?
Often, there are many different candidates, but only a few can be considered properly qualified.
To conclude, no, the King is not in power due to his lineage. He is in power because we, the people, have willed him to be in power, through his policies alone.
    Part 2: The Qualification Process
This will be a long part. Simply, our qualification process is open to everyone from Hertfordia with descent tied to the peoples of this nation. Wealth is not considered and access is equal. Both the King/Tsar and the Prime Minister entered because they wanted to be able to represent the country on a global sporting stage, and just like everyone else they have had to go through qualification to make sure they are suitable enough to be chosen.
The evidence is clear that these two were brought here on the merits of sporting talent, not some fictional reason relating to privilege. For proof, just look at their performances. King/Tsar Mečislavs Deben achieved third place in the Mountain Biking and as for the Prime Minister, well, Clarkov Clarkson has a gold medal in Javelin he would love to talk to you about, but we advised, no scratch that, TOLD him not to do that the almost certain grounds that everyone listening would literally die of boredom. We also have athletes from a poor background, so don't go lecturing us about privilege when even those in poverty can join in on the Olympic fun. It is not a good look.
Long story short, people have come on merit alone. Privilege plays absolutely no part, in fact the use of one's position to gain advantages of any form in selection is illegal under both HCOC rules and Hertfordian law. We do not want to act as a puppet of the rich and powerful. So we aren't.
We also must point out that Radovan, the war criminal, was not chosen by us. He smuggled in past security and if anyone was paying even the slightest bit of attention they would have noticed Radovan Artemovych being arrested by Cambrian 5-0 with help from Hertfordian law enforcement during the mountain biking event. He registered with us under the false pretext of qualification. Yes, we admit, our security measures are a bit awful, hence why Artemovych was even in the Olympic roster at all. We will therefore take measures to improve our security and make sure such a transgression does not occur again.
Conclusion: the claims of the FIF and specifically Haugen are twaddle. It is all a load of absolute rubbish and we will hear no more nonsense from our Fujar counterparts. We are in no mood to battle against baseless accusations, because we still want to be able to enjoy the Olympics without matters of so-called privilege infecting this proud period in sporting history. Frøydis knows nothing about us, our sporting scene or our nation and frankly he has no right whatsoever to go to a press conference and falsely slander the name of the HCOC! We will simply not tolerate lies on any level, and that is a fact!
The Confederal Olympic Committee of Hertfordia hereby requests a retraction of the lies made by Frøydis and the FIF. It is our opinion that they owe the accused, especially Hertfordia, an apology for the Fujai Idrottsforbund's blatant falsehoods broadcast to the world.
    Part 3: The Public Opinion
Okay, this will be a short part simply about what the public think. They believe that Fujai has got our system completely wrong and that Frøydis in particular clearly does not understand Hertfordia or the way we do things here. Some people reckon that it is because of political viewpoints. Hertfordia is perhaps one of the most nationalistic, most right-wing areas in the world and while that is not the cited reason, it does influence the reasons given. Many respondants to our previous question of what they think of Haugen's claims say that it is typical of someone from Fujai, considered the polar opposite of Hertfordia. Whereas Hertfordia is nationalistic and right-wing, Fujai is seen as a nation of socialist hippies by many citizens, both of which are very much frowned upon.
Obviously, we are in no position to confirm or deny these claims. It is up to Fujai alone to decide what it is. There we go, that is all.
We thank you for listening and joining in. Now, the news team will prepare the team sports review. Cheers and goodbye.
P.S. - If we decide to put new info into this post, we shall show you via an edit message below the post.
P.P.S. - "The problem is that most have lived their entire lives in the lap of luxury"?! What a joke! The King/Tsar has a luxurious life now, but before his reign, he was still a member of the middle class. Meanwhile, the Prime Minister is actually from a rural working class background and even as PM he has vowed to remain an ordinary, if slightly weird, citizen at heart. We had to clear that up for all you readers who have been watching us perform.

The Countess of Uia sipped her Special Royal Blend, savored the earthy sweetness, and placed her cup on its saucer.
She glanced again at Luke Waterman, something she found difficult not to do, and turned back to His Royal Highness.
Did you hear what that hammer thrower from Fujai had to say about our athletes, cousin? Essentially, he declared our delegation to be nothing but aristocratic dilettantes.
Now, Susan, we mustn't concern ourselves with the comments of the ill-informed and uneducated. Edward told me that this man didn't even know that I had already ascended to the throne two years ago, calling me the heir. Of course our athletes are from the upper classes, but not everyone is titled. Luke, here, for example won Gold in the 200 meter breaststroke, and although a gentleman of course, is hardly a Peer.
Luke Waterman, almost mythically handsome, flashed a smile and raised his cup.
Seven Golds, sir! Regardless of background, each of our athletes has worked hard to prepare for competition in these olympics. Our success speaks for itself.
Congratulations to the both of you. You make Saint Mark proud.

Giovannilandian Olympic Report - 6th and 7th Days
    1 Gold - 2 Silver - 0 Bronze
Hello at the Giovannilandian Olympic Report! Today we will cover both the sixth and seventh days of this great international sports event.
    6th Day:
1500 m Freestyle Swim: Yesterday, in this event, only Andreana Viriato from Giovanniland could qualify for the finals, but they did not succeed, as they were placed 7th overall. Our other athletes, namely Helena Vindemia, Edna Persona-Tommasi, and Vinikio Kaetano Emiliana, did not even qualify for the finals.
Volleyball: Now for some good news, Giovanniland won their last match against Fujai, and topped the group with 9 points. Our team advances to the quarterfinals!
    7th Day:
200 m Freestyle Swim: Only one athlete succeeded on the qualifiers, this time Milite Laroni. Other ones didn't do so well, as Valeria Yanseno got 21st, Teresa Ferrari got 24th, and Farlina Arruntio-Kommodo got 30th. However, on the finals, our athlete Milite brought the second silver medal to our country, as he finished 2nd overall!
Volleyball: Giovanniland won against the Unified Missourtama States on the quarterfinals! As other teams get eliminated, we hope our team succeeds on this event.
This is it for these two days! Although not much happened, we're happy to see another medal for our country and a successful road so far for our Volleyball team. More to come tomorrow, so stay tuned!

    Day 7 of the Olympics

Anne Krevelsted at the Athlete's Village in Saint-Josalyn, here to bring you another update on the Olympic games here! Today has been an incredibly lucky day for our team, gaining 4 medals in total today, which is fairly good in comparison to the previous days. The wins today has raised our total ranking to 7th place from 4th place. Here's the recap of events:
    - In the discus throw event, the first event with Novasamitan participation, we won our first silver medal thanks to Mikel Snowberg, narrowly beaten by Holly Lally of T&C. Paul Kringen, however, ended up 5th in the final tally.
    - We were even more luckier in the road cycling time trial event, with Kyla Uenssen grabbing the gold for Novasamita, at a speed of 34 minutes and 46 seconds.
    - Our Karate Kumite athletes Rosa Helmer and Art Sylvessen won bronze and gold respectively, thanks to their tireless training and preparation.
    - Finally in the Volleyball quarterfinals, Novasamita managed to defeat the Iradorian team in all but the second sets.
That's it for the daily update on the Olympics, see you tomorrow!

    Olympic Media Centre, Saint-Josalyn
A handful of cameras flash as Frøydis Haugen, hammer thrower and FIF delegate, addresses the press conference, standing in front of the other members of FIF’s governing council.
“–become a disgrace to these games. They see fit to come here under the spirit of honest athleticism and international cooperation as if they weren’t here by grace of their lineage. No fewer than four nations have sent relatives of high ranking political figures or those political figures themselves as athletes. You cannot honestly expect those of us who came here on sporting merit to believe that they are here for the same reasons,” they say.
A reporter from KBD Idrott seizes the brief pause, “Frøydis, what about those elites who did perform as well as others? Should they not get their chance?”
Frøydis takes a moment, “I appreciate the question, because it’s arguably the most important one. Yes we are certain that these people from Zoran, Saint Mark, Mallorca, and Hertfordia received special treatment in national athlete selection—it would be miraculous if they didn’t, but that is on them to prove, not us. At the same time, yes, some of them have genuine athletic talent.
The problem is that most have lived their entire lives in the lap of luxury. Prince Marcarius is the heir to an absolute monarchy—one of the most powerful nations on the planet. Three members of the Zoranian president’s family are here, Mallorca’s head of state, and Hertfordia’s king and prime minister. This is ignoring the fact that they sent a war criminal to these games.
Through their privilege, they all had infinitely more access to funding, training facilities, trainers, and anything else they could want, while the rest of us made our way through life on talent and hard work. They claim to represent their nations, but they represent only the systems which push down their own people.
FIF is especially disappointed in the National Athletics Clan of Zoran for their choices. As they claim to be a fellow egalitarian society, we find it hard to understand why they sent three high members of the Ani’-Wah’ family. Did the other clans and families receive that treatment? What of the people who they claim to represent, did they?
Fujais Idrottsforbund calls on the World Olympic Council to investigate these instances of blatant corruption and preferential treatment in national athletic selections, and pass more stringent rules on selection processes to ensure this does not happen again. As a National Olympic Committee dedicated to the cultivation of sport in all its forms, we cannot stay silent on this matter. Olympic athletes are determined by effort and talent—not by the circumstances of one’s birth.”
The assembled reporters from Fujai and elsewhere begin trying to ask questions as Frøydis steps away from the podium, back to the other delegates in attendance. Already in Fujai is the internet abuzz over FIF’s corruption allegations, and most seem to support them.

    Day 6 of the Olympics
Anne Krevelsted reporting live from St-Josalyn Track and Field, here to bring you a recap of Day 6! Our athletes are still optimistic despite losing to their respective opponents, and we also won 2 more medals! (Our editors were itching to change the medal tally for TV.) Here's the summary of events:
In the 1500 m Freestyle Swim event, Novasamita's athletes Mikel NaGrahe and Jan Hulsten performed not so good, being 8th and 27th, respectively in the overall rankings, while in the Gymnastics: Vault event, Marie Jenssen wins yet another medal for Novasamita, this time bronze. Her co-athlete Brien Klassen, meanwhile, was 9th placer. In the total all-around, Jenssen and Klassen ended up 7th and 22nd, respectively.
In the Karate Kata event, Jaekob Trannen managed to defeat Della Vancee of Nieubasria in the semis and Ollie Kassman of T&C for the gold medal match, managing to win another gold for Novasamita. Our volleyball team managed to defeat Teralyon in a slim victory against them, making their record so far 3 wins and 1 loss.
That's about it for today's report! Thanks for tuning in and hope to see you tomorrow.

Giovannilandian Olympic Report - 5th Day
    1 Gold - 1 Silver - 0 Bronze
Five days already! Today we present another Giovannilandian Olympic Report, and now we have a medal count as well to help you keep track of our medals. Let's review the events of yet another day in the Olympics!
10 Meter Platform Diving: Giovanniland had no luck on another diving event, as Lorentio Nakamura-Aureli got 15 place, Ivo Spindola-Terentio got 22nd, and Gabriella Santanna Prasini was close to last place with a 27th position.
Judo: Ulisse Yanseno was unlucky on both games, as he ended up on 4th place while Zoran claimed gold, bronze and silver medals.
Volleyball: Giovanniland won against Cambria, with 2 wins and 1 loss currently. The last match against Fujai will decide which teams will advance to the knockout stage.
This is it for today! Follow our Olympics Report for more news about our Giovannilandian athletes, and see you all again tomorrow.

Day 5 of the Olympics: Recap

Jan Stebbelhaum again reporting from the Novasamitan Embassy today, here to recap Day 5 of the Saint-Josalyn Olympics!
Karl Furhjel of the 10 meter platform diving event ended up 21st in the overall rankings, performing not so good. His poor diving attempt has made rounds across the Internet, and has become a meme on the chat boards Deddit, 5kun, Tumble, and 10joke.

Karl Furhjel achieved fame not in perfromance, but in failure, as a photograph by Olympics reporter Jan Krebels went viral.
His co-athlete in the event, Micheal Van Helsen, did not so good either, ending 23rd out of all.
In Gymnastics: Rings, Brien Klassen tied with Kristian Ringstad for 13th place, while gold medalist Marie Jenssen tying with 2 others for the 18th spot, with Kolchi Pencis and Kristian Bevan.
Jaekob Trannen of the Karate: Kata event defeated Dernie Minute from Recuecn, while our volleyball team suffered their first loss against Zoran!
That is about it for today! Jan Stebbelhaum again, reporting from the Embassy of Novasamita at Tara and Cambray today! See you in the next report!

Review - Day 4 of the Saint-Josalyn Summer Olympics | Rívjü - Dei 4 av đi Seint-Deeušalin Šame Ęlimpiks
If Day 3 was the best day so far, then Day 4 was undoubtedly the worst, with Hertfordia dropping to 4th in the medal table below Cambria and Bobki, who performed a coup on us and the Astoric Duo to go top of the table, with 5 gold medals and 1 bronze medal. Numerically, Hertfordia have 10 while Nieubasria and Cambria both have 14-15 each. We suspect home advantage is playing in Tara & Cambray's favour. You might have noticed that this official Olympic news broadcast from the Confederal Olympic Committee of Hertfordia (COCH/HCOC) claimed that we have 10 medals and you're probably thinking "Wait, 10 medals??? That seems rather off, wouldn't you agree?". Our answer to that is you're totally right, because here is our medal count for today!
ERROR 404 - MEDALS NOT FOUND
No, we are not making this up, Hertfordia achieved exactly 0 medals on the fourth day. While a few of our athletes did perform well, it wasn't well enough to get them into those coveted medal-rewarding positions. A few of our lot performed rather poorly aswell. In team sports, it was a lot better, as Hertfordia qualified for the Semi-Finals of Baseball, Basketball and Water Polo as group winners. In Basketball particularly, Hertfordia were edged out of a victory by just 3 points against Irador, but due to our overwhelming points difference advantage over the rest of our group, we still took first place with the highest points difference of the group stages. In Footbal and Rugby, Hertfordia were eliminated in the Group Stages. In Football, Hertfordia had pretty much no hope of qualification anyway, after two comeback losses in a row. So at least we were able to leave the Football competition on a high, as Hertfordia dispatched the host nation Cambria 2-0, finishing 3rd in the group, in which Giovanniland won with 7 points. In Rugby, the exit was more painful. Hertfordia defeated Cambria 24-10 to finish second in a group that Fujai won. However, Hertfordia could not join them, missing out by a PD of just 2 to Giovanniland, who qualified as the best runner up from Group A. Marble Mallorca found themselves in a similarly heartbreaking position, missing out by a PD of 1. Only 1! How close must it get?!
Because there were no medal winners, no one on this best to worst ranking list will get a description...

    And Now, The News...
As promised, here is the news! The news today is that the Hertfordian Constabulary have been contacted about the incident involving our news lorry and are now launching an investigation into the culprits, starting a hunt to apprehend and arrest the guilty party. This is music to our ears of course, especially since Hertfordian police officers are some of the least corrupt in the world. The nation takes law enforcement seriously, with a 'firm but fair before the law' approach which has seen success never before precedented in a country that has historically struggled with controlling crime, especially youth crime.
    ------------------------------------------------------------
On that mixed day it is time to end, thanks for coming, we'll see you tonight and now, a dejected goodbye!

    Review-The 4th day of the Saint-Josalyn Olympics
"Hi, I'm Ausrelian Ifanov and I'm going to review the 4th day of the Olympics. Today was the day where we won the most of the medals. We won 1 Gold and 2 Silver medals today. Making the total 2 gold, 3 silver and 2 bronze medals. Currently, we're in 6th tied with Fujai on the Medal Table. Now, let's move on to the matches, in 3m springboard, Calana Dezervin won a silver medal for us. In the Marathon, Zarem Liftue got 5th and Oliet Krinoryc didn't finish in time. In tennis doubles, we got the best record so far. Both of the teams went into the finals then Ertoir Corihis and Alon Urus won the gold and the Peyxs brother, Mihail and Sewent won the silver medal. In team sports, we did very terrible. We only made it in the semi-finals of Lacrosse. In Volleyball, we're currently in 2nd in group 3. Tomorrow, we're going to interview some of the players which participated in this Olympics."

Border Patrol Agents arresting the vandals. They are border patrol officers, yes. So what? We already have a fence on our border, a border wall if you will, that has more than enough officers on it. Why not transfer some officers from one station to another?
There are no excuses, we should have done this earlier. Either way, news now that the rioters have been apprehended and in news which will shock no-one, one of these crazy vandals turned out to be the wild fan that pestered Quiyakaso, the Zoranian news reporter, a couple of days earlier. He has now been taken in for police questioning, as have the rest of those vandals that so rudely tipped our van over.
The Team Rankings For Day 4

Friday 12th June 1420 - Preview of Day 5 of the Saint-Josalyn Summer Olympics | Přīvjü - Dei 5 av đi Seint-Deeušalin Šame Ęlimpiks

The Hertfordian Constabulary (Confederal Police Force of Hertfordia) borrowed this station near Saint-Josalyn for the Olympics and are currently interrogating the arrested vandals.
Day 5, it is nearly halfway through. Hertfordia, after Day 4's general failure, are on 10 medals - 3 gold, 3 silver, 4 bronze - and siting 4th in the medal table behind Bobki, Nieubasria and Tara & Cambray. Lacrosse goes beyond the group stages and into the Octo-Finals. There are multiple recgonizable athletes, all known extensively for their other professions, some of which are actually rather brilliant. As you saw in the caption, our law enforcement officers are doing their job and interrogating the rioting vandals that they arrested. We have nothing else to say, so now, the schedule for the fifth day of the Saint-Josalyn Summer Olympics.
Events/Ívents Athletes/Àølīts 10m Platform Diving Galeem Stefanovych, Archie Serhijovych 10km Marathon Swim Xavier Boichev, Davy Vladyslavovych 110m Hurdles Axel Teicāns, Will Nankov Javelin Throw Mina Alexandrov, Clarkov Clarkson Canoe 1,000m Sprint Dimentinov Alksnis, Bryce Iliev Equestrian Individual Jumping Michael Tinchev Gymnastics Rings Kokichi Pencis, Draco Myronovych, Milan Balkanski, Vojislav Petrovskis Karate Kata Individual Stage 1 Colin Hedanijovych Octofinals Lacrosse  Hertfordia Lacrosse Matchday 4 Baseball, Basketball, Football, Rugby Sevens, Volleyball, Water Polo Hertfordia Baseball, Hertfordia Basketball, Hertfordshire and Jammbo Football Federation, Hertfordshire and Jammbo Rugby Union, Hertfordia Volleyball Federation, Hertfordshire and Jammbo Water Polo Team Day 5, and approaching the halfway point, we have up to 15 events for us, including, confusingly, the Octo-Finals of Lacrosse. Yeah, we never heard of that either, but it is happening. We have many notable competitors today. The prime contestant in terms of notiecability is the Hertfordian Prime Minister Clarkov Ongo Jammbonev Clarkson, or Clarkov for short. He is the conservative nationalist leader of Hertfordia and is currently very popular for many reasons, which include his crackdown on political corruption, protection of the nation's people and their way of life and creation of the elective monarchy system that Hertfordia now runs on. In fact, that's how Mečislavs Deben became king. All this and he is still legally a child (Age unknown, estimates of his age are shown somewhere below) Mind you, inclusivity is nowhere to be seen, but inclusiveness is not a Hertfordian value. Clarkov is a national expert in throwing large spear-like poles over obscenely long distances that then wedge into the ground, or in other words, the Javelin Throw, which he is in alongside Mina Alexandrov. Question is, can he do it on an international level?
It would be a grave injustice to focus on only our PM, as we have others who are also notable. Mina Alexandrov is an 'older child' (no one knows the age of any of the Jammbonians, incuding Mina and Clarkov. The general guess of Mina's age is between 12 and 16, the general guess of Clarkov's age is 16), but is already a scientific genius on the levels of esteemed national heroes of the scientific profession. So frightening accuracy is almost completely guaranteed. Do realize that power is also needed for the Javelin Throw She is also very boring, so she would likely get along well with James May, who is very old. Galeem Stefanovych, one of the most beautiful, and most terrifying, woman in the country is here aswell. She is terrifying due to her incredible natural skill. Finally, Davy Vladyslavovych was picked up from a rickety old ship that never sinks and has fittingly ended up in an aquatics event, the 10km Marathon Swim. This is a day you do not want to miss!
*Disclaimer - Jammbian and Jammbonian are two different things. Jammbians are far more prevalent in Hertfordia.
On that describing, it is time to temporarily end our news broadcast of the Hertfordian Olympic Effort, until tomorrow, when the review of the individuals and then the review of the teams will be aired right here from the outer edge of Saint-Josalyn. Until then, we bid thee farewell, and goodnight!

Giovannilandian Olympic Report - 4th Day
Another day in the Olympics has passed! Today we will review the events of the fourth day and Giovanniland's performance in them.
3 Meter Springboard Diving: Giovanniland had no luck, as Amando Nivoso, its best player, only got a 5th place. The other athletes, Venusta Merkuria and Manuella Sevia, got bad finishes as 15th and 18th.
Judo: Not the best combination of events happened here, but there is still hope. Tamara Giakobo and Ernesto Ferrari got both eliminated by Zoranian athletes, but Ulisse Yanseno won both round of 16 and quarter-finals to be the only non-Zoranian athlete in the semifinals. Will he win?
Baseball: Surprisingly, an upset occurred, where Giovanniland defeated the group leader, Irador, with a large margin of points. This allowed the team to catch the 1st place in the group and advance to the knockout stage.

Basketball: Giovanniland wasn't so lucky in basketball. As they were eliminated already, even the close win against Bobki didn't save them, as group leader Nieubasria won another match to get 9 points.
Football: In a close match against Irador, the winning goal for Giovanniland came in the last minutes of the second half. The runner-up, Cambria, was unlucky and lost to Hertfordia, deciding the group and enabling the Giovannilandians advance to the knockout stage.
Rugby Sevens: Here, Giovanniland won against Nieubasria by such a large margin, but depended on other teams to get the best runner-up spot. Luckily, all runners-up from all groups had 3 points, however Giovanniland's +4 point advantage was a bit bigger than Marble Mallorcan Republic's +3 and Hertfordia's +2, earning a place on the knockout stage for our team.
Volleyball: Giovanniland lost to Nieubasria, but there are 2 matches yet to come. The situation's still unclear, but we hope for the best!
Water Polo: To finish with more good news, Giovanniland qualified to the Water Polo semifinals even with a loss to Teralyon, with a runner-up place being enough to secure a spot.
This is it for today! Be sure to follow our Olympics Report tomorrow for more news about our Giovannilandian athletes. See you all!

Of course Your Royal Highness knows best.
Edward had been puzzled why the prince had been doing so poorly, especially in the equestrian and fencing events, where he knew him to be second to none, but when he was eliminated from the Individual Jumping when his horse actually ran off the course!?! He knew something was drastically wrong. As it turned out, His Royal Highness has been ill and today almost passed out when he returned to his chambers. He had had a fever earlier, but at least that had broken about an hour ago and the prince was finally resting comfortably. He insisted, however, that the press not be told and that he would continue to compete and to celebrate the victories of his countrymen. His Highness was quite proud with Saint Mark's four Gold medals so far and had no intention of taking the focus off of those that had trained so hard. Keeping the spotlight on them was worth a little tarnished image.

"Hello Zoran! I am Quiyakaso and yesterday's events were phenomenal as always! Unfortunately, Uku was eliminated from the semifinals after a great match between him and Fredrik Jagred! However, he did win the bronze medal match and won another medal for Zoran! Our springboard divers didn't make it to the top three but they did make it in sixth, ninth, and nineteenth place! Our runners in the marathon had a similar situation as they came in eighth, twelfth, and twenty-second place! In gymnastics, our gymnasts are not doing so well with out gymnasts coming in at seventh, eleventh, fifteenth, and twentieth place. Hinola has not been performing well either as she came in twentieth place and it appears that whatever familial issue that is going on at home has really been affecting her, we can only hope that it won't affect her for much longer. Meanwhile in Judo, all three of our athletes have made it to the finals after three incredible matches where they defeated their opponents with ease! It is likely that one of our three athletes will bring home a gold medal, but we cannot let ourselves grow overconfident as the event still has to occur but we must cheer for out athletes as much as we can! Sadly our volleyball team lost another game yesterday but our football and rugby teams are still going strong as they won their matches yesterday! We must keep supporting our teams and cheering them on!"
    *sneezes into elbow*
"Sorry about that. Tonight on the fifth day of the Olympics, we will see our athletes perform the 10 m platform dive and we will see our swimmers perform the 10km marathon! We will also see the Canoe 1000 m sprint, I have no doubt in my mind that our canoers will do well due to our history with the canoe and the fact that our canoers trained going up and down the rivers of Zoran as well ad developing their strength! Today we will see our gymnasts perform on the rings, while their performance so far has not been stellar we should still cheer them on and pray that they will make a comeback here! We will also see the finals of the judo competition and see if one of our three athletes brings home the gold! We will also see our teams compete once more so let's support our volleyball, football, and rugby teams so they can win their matches! I will see you then Zoran!"

Day 4 of the Olympics: Another Gold For Me!
Hello Novasamita! This is Jan Stebbelhaum reporting from the Athlete's Village in Saint-Josalyn, and I'm here today to give you a summary of the events that happened yesterday!
In the 3 meter springboard diving event, Tylle Marke ended 4th, being beat by T&C, Irador, and St. Mark. Johanna Killassen met the same fate, although she had a much lower ranking, being the second to last. Our 4 x 100 meter relay team, comprising of  Viktor Sumaawalait/Kyle Senning/Jonas Nordhelm/Kristen Radwel (NTA) managed to finish 9th place, Jonas Nordhelm and Kristen Radwel ending 6th and 16th, respectively, in the Marathon event, and long jump athletes Emeri Laahanogu and Nicholas Janssen finished 5th and 18th.
Meanwhile, in the Gymnastics-Parallel Bars event, we once more won another gold! Marie Jenssen managed to finish 1st place in her game, thanks to the overwhelming amount of her family members and relatives attending. In our interview with her, she said "her confidence and the sheer number of fans attending gave me courage to reach for gold." Our lat remaining fencing athlete, meanwhile, Fredrik Jagred, was defeated in both Semifinal and Bronze games. Although losing, Jagred was smiling and laughing at the end of the matches, saying that the games were a blast for him and that he'd like to participate in the next Olymipcs.
Judo athletes, Kyle Rommen and Anna Kimarue, were defeated by Giovannilandian athlete Ulysses Yang. Novasamita's basketball team comes out with more success as they defeated Fujai, 70-94 in their latest game. The rugby sevens team is also experiencing success, defeating Larxia, 28-24.
That's about it for today's summary! Here's an athlete list for Day 4:

Novasamitan Athletes for Day 5 of the Olympics Athlete Event Karl Furhjel
Michael Van Helsen  10 m Platform Diving Richard Krungkonen Javelin Throw Marie Jenssen,

Gold and Silver! — Government Celebrates by Firing Sports Minister
Hong Kong was awarded its first medals at the Summer Olympics held at Saint-Josalyn. Amidst the celebrations in the streets, the Government has undergone a major cabinet reshuffle which saw the dismissal of Sports Minister Xavier Chun in reaction to its historically low approval ratings resulting from the passage of the Electoral Reform Act.
A collective roar of 300 people went up at the viewing party at Constitution Plaza in Victoria late last night when Bruno Tse and Gabrielle Fung raced to gold in the Team Sprint Division of the Track Cycling tournament at the first ever Summer Olympic Games. The dynamic duo, aged 24 and 22 respectively, were crowned winners in that tournament with a total time of 42.960 seconds, fending off stiff competition from the Reçueçian team, who placed second, and the Nieubasrian team, who placed third.
In what is a historic moment for the Commonwealth sports scene, Tse and Fung looked on teary-eyed as the Blue Bauhinia flag was raised and the National Anthem was played at the Saint-Josalyn Velodrome. Many Hongkongers congregated at Constitution Plaza and elsewhere in the nation wept openly at the sight, which is an affirmation of the Commonwealth's place in the international sports scene, an aspect of the nation's culture and pride which was so often overlooked during the Achinian Occupation.
Earlier in the day, Hongkongers were joyously celebrating when the "Nation's Sweetheart", 19-year-old Karina Choi, won Hong Kong's first ever medal at an international sporting tournament when she won silver at the windsurfing tournament. The athlete, hailing from Port South, Guandong, gave an emotional thank-you to her supporters in Hong Kong and abroad for giving her the strength and motivation to do her utmost. She pledged to train hard and do her utmost in future tournaments and expressed her hopes for even better performances in the future.
With the gold and silver medals awarded today, the Commonwealth now places 8th out of 17 participating nations at the Olympics, beating much larger nations such as Zoran and Hong Kong's northern neighbour, Giovanniland. Chairwoman of the Olympic Committee Ira Shuen commented through a written statement that "Hong Kong's achievement is a source of pride for the citizens of a small nation of six million, who have managed to establish their standing in the world."
Politicians were quick to pile on to the ensuing wave of jubilation. Prime Minister Isadore Chan Ching expressed her deepest congratulations to the medal winners and all athletes, and said that she "looked forward and will continue to look forward to the development of the Hong Kong sports scene." Leader of the Opposition Julian Pak remarked that "despite the failings of the government and the poor state of our nation's affairs, the victory we have achieved tonight gives us optimism." Pak continued to say that he supports the continuation of the development of Hong Kong's sports education, something he said "was lacking in the government's budget from the start".
However, the government's acts of congratulations were poorly-timed and resulted in another embarrassing incident for the Prime Minister. It was announced almost simultaneously with Karina Choi's second-place finish in the windsurfing competition that the government had undergone a major reshuffle and that many high-ranking politicians were removed from office in tandem with Prime Minister Chan Ching's plans to overhaul the Cabinet to reestablish public trust after the passage of the unpopular Electoral Reform Act. It was then announced, almost simultaneously with Bruno Tse and Gabrielle Fung's gold-medal achievement, that Sports Minister Xavier Chun was among the casualties of this reshuffle.
It was not long before the internet caught on with the news, and all through the night satirists mocked the government for being out of touch and "ungrateful" to the services of Sports Minister Chun. Sources inform the Metropolite that the decision was made by Chan Ching herself the day before yesterday, but was not processed and gazetted by the Cabinet Civil Service until late yesterday, hence the unfortunate timing.
During his tenure as Sports Minister, Chun greatly expanded the Hong Kong sports academies system, pioneering measures such as lowering the minimum age of student entry from 12 years of age to 6 years of age. He also established a network of sports education and introduced academies to the more rural provinces. He also proposed making physical education a compulsory subject in schools. However, it was widely reported at the beginning of the last month that Chun had fallen out of favour with the Prime Minister for having reservations about the Electoral Reform Act. He is one among 17 of 23 Cabinet Ministers to go last night.
The Prime Minister nor her team responded to comments about Chun's dismissal as of yet. Vice Premier Sylvia Leung is expected to meet reporters tomorrow to announce new picks for the Cabinet.
