March 1, 2021; 9 PM Polaris Eastern Time; New Thraproy Sports Complex Main Stadium

The Nieubasrian national team are running around the pitch, celebrating and hugging, as if not believing that they won the 1st World Cup of Football. The action-filled (and close) match ended in 1-0. The technical and utility units of the United Adaikes World Cup of Football Organizing Committee were busy preparing the podiums and the stage riser in the middle of the pitch for the awarding and closing ceremonies. United Adaikes President Luke Salazar, after congratulating the Nieubasria Ambassador in the VIP box, went down with him and the Larxian Ambassador to the field to congratulate the players.

When everything was in place, the United Adaikes Football Association Head Myron Lillakis started, "Before we continue in congratulating and awarding the champions of the 1st World Cup of Football that is hosted in our very own nation," he turns to Salazar, "Mr. President, I would like to congratulate and give awards to individuals who performed exemplarily during this tournament. First off, the Golden Glove award is given to the best goalkeeper we have seen in this tournament, and after allowing 5 goals only since their first match in the group stage until bagging 3rd Place in this tournament, congratulations to the Tara and Cambray Union Football goalkeeper Stefan Keller!" As Keller climbs the stage riser, he slaps his chest three times, points and looks to the sky before receiving the award from United Adaikes Sports Commission Chief Pouria Barr.

"This next award," Lillakis continued, "is given to the player who scored most in this tournament, and though they lost today, he drove his team on top of Group B and helped his team tie with the most goals scored in the group stage. They have the most scored goals in the tournament with 20, and he scored every goal that mattered in the knockout rounds. Help me in congratulating him, from Federacion de Futbol Larxia, winger Leo Messy!" Though grateful with the award presented to him by the Larxian ambassador and smiled for the cameras, the look on Messy's face can be seen that he thought he should have done more.

"Lastly," Lillakis read from his cue cards, "this next award is given to the best player of the tournament, voted by football fans here and abroad from the start of the knockout rounds up to the semi-finals, selected by the international sports media, and chosen by the United Adaikes Football Association from the pool of players that came from the votes of the fans and selection of the media, who nonetheless, shown great character, sportsmanship and the best of football during this World Cup, help me congratulate Nieubasria forward Camdyn Cartwrighte!" Upon receiving the award from the Nieubasria ambassador, he clenched his fist, kissed it, pointed and looked to the sky and mouthed, "For you, Earc." "Once again", Lillakis said before stepping off from the podium, "congratulations to the winners!"

United Adaikes Sports Commission Chief Pouria Barr then went to the podium and spoke. "Mr. President, esteemed guests, players, and to the fans here and around the world watching, out of the 24 teams that entered this tournament, they won a feat only dreamed by few, help me in congratulating our Runner-ups in this tournament, the Federacion de Futbol Larxia!" Everyone in the stadium clapped hard, with all fans in the stadium shouting in unison "Larxia!" repeatedly before the team went off the stage.

As Barr stepped off from the podium, United Adaikes President Luke Salazar went to the opposite side of the riser to his Executive Podium, "I will not make this long, I know, you want to celebrate with your team and everyone, but I would like to thank all participating nations for the trust in our country to host the 1st World Cup of Football. This won't happen without your earnest cooperation. To the Football Association, a job well done for heading in the organization of this event. To the Sports Commission, our work is not yet done. We need to continue to improve the state of our competitive sports in the country to be at par with our international counterparts. And expect the utmost cooperation and participation of the Federal Republic of the United Adaikes to other international sports tournaments that will happen in the future. I'm sorry if I made that long - so, without further ado, ladies and gentlemen, your 1st World Cup of Football champions, the Sovereign Estates of Nieubasria!"

United Adaikes survives Nagaraningrad scare, falls to 2nd place in the group despite the win.

The NNF surprised the Panthers and their fans when Jaka Wiranagara scored from a free kick in the 11th minute. The United Adaikes National Football Team had not scored in the first half but ensured strengthened defensive plays and better ball possession before the first half ended. Just five minutes after the start of the second half, Panthers captain Billy Jordan scored from an interception in the transition field during a counter-attack when he passed it forward to Kolton Dale only to return it to Jordan for a powerful kick to goal inside the penalty area. The woes from the visiting Nagaranites continued when Collin Maddox scored a header from a Van Burgess cross in the 67th minute and never let them possess the ball again in the remainder of the game. With that loss, the Nagaraningrad National Football fell to 5th place and hope to bounce back in their remaining games to ensure a seat in the knock-out rounds.

Hosts take last minute goal to draw!

Bringing the confidence they had from their win in their last game, the Fujai Landslag made the hosts sloppy with their snappy ball possession as well as timely tackles to intercept the ball from the Panthers. The about 40, 000 United Adaikes fans in the Main Stadium of the New Thraproy Sports Complex were stunned as Fujai scored first in the 29th minute with a well-placed goal after a feint that deceived United Adaikes goalie Dexter Marsh. The home fans were silent during the rest of the first half while the Panthers were trying to regroup.

Fresh legs and pep talk from UA Manager Dylan Burke in half time were the key when the United Adaikes National Football Team played with renewed vibrancy and alertness, with other pundits saying they saw a different team in the second half compared from the previous half. While the fans were getting restless and impatient when the home team will score with only 7 minutes remaining, a perfectly-timed tackle by Peter Knight to a Fujai player with the ball was picked up by Benson Schroeder. A pass to Billy Jordan initiated the counter attack as a header by Kolton Dale in the 84th minute coming from a high cross from Jordan tied the game. The goal reignited the spirits of the United Adaikes fans and were just elated and relieved that they managed to get a goal and a draw in this match and still in contention for a place in the knockout rounds.

Breaking News: UA Sports Commission Press Conference in light of the recent allegations in the WCF 1

Pouria Barr, the Chief of the United Adaikes Sports Commission held an abrupt press conference to give light on the stance of the host country in the allegations of other nations against the controversial Auran nation, Dilber.

The highlights were on the allegations of doping and cryptocurrency in and by the Auran nation. Barr revealed, "We have accepted the calls from concerned nations about these allegations, and we assure them and everyone that we will do everything in our capacity to ensure a fair tournament with outcomes everyone can be proud of. To be specific, for the first allegations, we have collected urine and blood samples from all players and staff of the Dilber team hours after their second game. Their head of state actually called President Salazar about it and initiated that the team be tested. The collected samples are currently being tested in our laboratories and we shall apprise everyone of the results tomorrow."

"On the second allegations of cryptocurrency, our Department of Finance will be conducting an independent investigation and has created an ad-hoc Task Force for the investigation. I was also told that they have also tapped native assets, both local and in abroad, as well as gathering information and resources from their international counterparts, to speed up any hindrances that this investigation might bring."

The hosts take win in opener!

After at least an hour after the opening ceremony, the United Adaikes National Football Team swayed with the cheers they received from the fans in the 70,000-seat Main Stadium in New Thraproy Sports Complex. Teralyon opened the first half but it was the Panthers who scored first in the 18th minute with a Collin Maddox volley from a Billy Jordan assist. Teralyon evened the scores before half time with a well-placed goal in the 44th minute that nearly silenced the crowd for a few seconds.

With the restart of play in the second half, the Panthers controlled the possession of the ball most of the half. Whenever Teralyon intercepted, United Adaikes just displays wondrous defense and regains possession. Jordan finished the scoring for the Panthers in the 78th minute coming from a Kolton Dale miss hitting the lower left goal post.

The next opponents for United Adaikes will be the Fujai Landslag who also won in their opening game against Fuentana. Teralyon will be facing K66, who drew with Nagaraningrad with a goal apiece in their game.

All the captains of the 24 participating nations are present in the opening ceremony of the 1st World Cup of Football in the Main Stadium of the New Thraproy Sports Complex, with around 69, 000 fans in attendance to watch the 1st game of United Adaikes and Teralyon which will happen in the next hour. "Before the declaration of the President of the United Adaikes to formally open the 1st World Cup of Footbal," coming from the stadium speakers, "may we call the captain of the United Adaikes National Football Team, Billy Jordan, to give the Oath of Sportsmanship, which will also be repeated by the team captains of the participating nations of the 1st World Cup!" A thunderous roar and applause was heard in the mention of Jordan's name as he walked to the designated podium and read the Oath.

"To the team captains of the participating nations," Jordan started, "please repeat after me. 'I', state your name," with the other captains following Jordan in declaring the Oath of Sportsmanship, "'representing my team and my country, a participant of the 1st World Cup of Football, do hereby solemnly swear and agree to abide, adhere and uphold all conditions, agreements, rules and regulations of football. As a competitor of this game, I hereby swear and agree to play the game in the highest forms and standards of discipline and sportsmanship, no matter if I win or lose. What counts most is how I conduct myself and play my game in the spirit of belongingness, peace and enjoyment with my competitors. I now therefore declare to preserve the tenets and precepts of a true sportsman in thought, in word and in deed in the true spirit of sportsmanship, for the glory of the sport and for the honor of my country.'"

Another thunderous roar and applause when Jordan finished reading the Oath and returned to his place with the other team captains, but a louder one when they saw the President of the United Adaikes Luke Salazar went to his Podium. "I do not want any diplomatic incidents," Salazar started, turning to the Zoranian team captain, while the others gave a nervous laugh, "but I just want you, your team, your fans present here, in your nation and everywhere, every one, to enjoy and relish the experience of international football. With that, I declare the 1st World Cup of Football here in our good country, the United Adaikes, open!" Another thunderous roar and applause from the 69, 000 fans in the arena. The stadium is now being entertained by performers in the pitch, while the President shakes the hands of the captains of the participating nations, with the Presidential Security Service near him.

After shaking hands with them, the President was escorted to the VIP box of the Main Stadium by the United Adaikes Football Association head Myron Lillakis. The team captains of Alchera, Fhaengshia, Giovanniland, Irador, Santos-Dominius and Zoran were escorted to the helipads and onto separate choppers each to ensure that they can return to their respective stadiums for their first game on time. The other captains were escorted to the VIP car park and onto separate vehicles for them to be escorted to where their teams are waiting for their next game.

Billy Jordan has not imagined in his wildest dreams that he will be shaking the hand of the President of the nation it represents in the 1st World Cup of Football and being hosted in their very own nation, standing in the Millennium Hall of the most secured building in the United Adaikes. "Mr. President, " Jordan started, "it is an honor to meet you and represent all those who love the sport of football in our country." "Do not fail your country, Billy," Salazar replied, with the United Adaikes Football Association Head Myron Lillakis standing beside Jordan, and United Adaikes Sports Commission Chief Pouria Barr beside Salazar, while the Presidential Press Corps photographers are taking every angle they can from the meeting. "Shall we, Mr. President?" Barr ushered, extending his hand pointing to the direction to the door.

As they all exit out of the Millenium Hall going out to the grounds of the Red Palace, they find a gray plinth with a ball on top covered with a red and green fabric beside the Executive Podium of the President of the United Adaikes. "Have you seen it?" Salazar whispered to Jordan. "No, I haven't, Mr. President", Jordan replied.

"A good morning to everyone," Salazar stated, now in the Podium, "and a good weekend so far here in our country. We have seen the delegates of the participating nations arriving in this historic and inaugural World Cup of Football. Today, we will be unveiling the official match ball to be used in all the games in this World Cup, which will start tomorrow morning. I also hope to see everyone in its Opening Ceremony tomorrow before the kick-off between our very own national team against Teralyon, of which, I have also been briefed, are also a good team." Looking at the only cue card in the podium, he continued. "The official match ball, which we call Ging, means Fire in the runic alphabet. As you will see later, it has red and green panels, which describes the color of flames depending on the temperature. This means that with this ball, we hope that it would give out the best in each players in every kick, pass, dribble, and throw, playing with passion and dedication to the sport. Without further ado, I present to you, the official match ball of the 1st World Cup of Football, Ging."

  8. After a thorough review of applications received to join the 1st World Cup of Football, we regretfully announce the disqualification of entry by @Sufys for the role play ban currently enforced until April 2021. The disqualified nation will be replaced by Alchera.

A tough decision brought about by the OOC host, yours truly, @United Adaikes, along with the Loremasters @Aelitia and @Fujai, and the RP Admin @Bran Astor.

  9. February 18, 1421; 10:30 AM Polaris Eastern Time

After a grueling 60-game-per-team inaugural league that ran for 10 months and ended in the last week of January 1421, United Adaikes National Football Team Manager Dylan Burke, also the manager of the recently-crowned champions of the Adaikes Premier Football League, the Gasple Dynamic, has finished selecting his 23-man roster from the 35 players of the different teams in the League he invited in the New Thraproy Sports Complex Main Stadium. The other 12 who did not make the cut will still be with the team and will surely be replacements for any injuries that might happen from any of the players in the 23-man roster. The 23-man roster list was rumored to be distributed to the local media later in the evening.

Billy Jordan, the team captain and top scorer of Gasple Dynamic, the winner of the APFL Player of the Year Award, was getting frustrated that he can't get back to practicing in the pitch, with a number of media personalities asking for an interview about the preparations of the team. "We are making sure we are at the top of our games, much higher than our performances in the leagues," Jordan has shared. "Coach Dylan has selected the best 35 players from the league which he thinks will not let the nation down. And we are also grateful for the opportunity, trust, and investment given by the federal government to the growing sport of football in United Adaikes."

  10. With 24 participating nations, they will be divided into four (4) groups with six (6) nations each. Nations will play with all nations found in their group. A win is given three (3) points, a draw is given one (1) point, and a loss is given zero (0) points. Four (4) nations with the most number of points in their group will progress in the knockout rounds. When points are tied, goal difference, goals scored, and matchup results between the tied teams are checked to break the tie.

Results are given at 9PM ET, with a cut-off for role play at 8PM ET the next day.
