Welcome to another episode of our Cricket Report, and today we will talk about the Giovannilandian game against the Dilberian team. Although we were already eliminated from the next stage at this point, it's still nice to not come back home with nothing! What I mean is that we won against our Auran neighbors in Dilber, and in this report we will tell you about how this game went, as well as the future of the T20 World Cup. "Unlike our two previous games, this time our opponents fielded first. The Dilberian team managed to score a total of 122 points in 20 overs while losing only 6 wickets, a fair amount but not enough to beat our team. Then, after their overs ended, Giovanniland took the offensive and managed to outdo Dilber in just 15 and 5/6 overs, scoring 125 points at that time. We did lose two more wickets than our opponents, but in the end our score was higher and we won the match." Karlo Nakamura-Edrense: "With the win in the match that my colleague Vanessa just described, Giovanniland now sits in third place in Group C, as the group stage ends and the top two nations of each group advance to the Super Eight. In the other match of Group C, our Auran neighbors in Saint Mark were able to defeat the Andolian nation of Fhaengshia, although the latter still qualified in second place as they had two wins in the previous matches." "Meanwhile, Dilber—who lost their last match to us—was not able to achieve the slight chance they had of qualifying and is now at the bottom of Group C. The final scores in our group were Saint Mark with five points, Fhaengshia with four, Giovanniland with two, and Dilber with one. Therefore, even though our team didn't qualify, it also didn't completely fail since it was able to win one match. This was predicted by many around the world since cricket is not a popular sport in Giovanniland, but we at the Cricket Report are happy that our country showed up and had some fun playing."

Vanessa Desniana: "Good morning Giovanniland! It is time for another Cricket Report with me and my colleague Karlo Nakamura-Edrense about the latest game played by Giovanniland, this time against our fellow Auran nation of Saint Mark. Just like the previous game against Fhaengshia, our team fielded first and today they scored 144 points in 20 overs, losing only 6 wickets. This was marginally higher than our amount of points in the first game, however it was not enough to win as the Saint Markian team scored four more points than us while losing the same amount of wickets. Furthermore, they were able to do it in just 16 and two thirds of overs, thus automatically ending the game as a win for them and a loss for us. This unfortunate result makes a Giovannilandian advancement to the Super Eight impossible, and in the review of our entire group." Karlo Nakamura-Edrense: "After another defeat, now giving us a score of 0 wins, 0 draws and 2 losses resulting in no points as well, Giovanniland is sadly eliminated from the tournament. In the other game of Group C, the Andolian nation of Fhaengshia was able to defeat another opponent, this time Dilber, which will be our opponent in the last round. Therefore, the current state of the group has Fhaengshia with 4 points at the top, Saint Mark with 3 points, Dilber with one point, and ourselves with none. This makes impossible that we advance to the Super Eight, since a win only awards two points and, even winning against Dilber, we would not reach the 3 points held by the 2nd place nation. "That way, the results our last game against Dilber will not matter much for us, although it's expected the Dilberians will fight for the win and hope for Saint Mark to lose so that they qualify for the next round. Saint Mark, meanwhile, guarantees a place simply by winning, or even losing to Fhaengshia if Dilber doesn't win against us. Finally, Fhaengshia is already qualified for a spot at the Super Eight, although the last games will see whether they advance in first or second place. Anyways, that is all for today! Today, myself at the Larxian city of La Marina and my colleague Karlo Nakamura-Edrense back home at Giovannia will present you a brief review of our first game in the T20 World Cup. The game was played against the Andolian nation of Fhaengshia, our neighbors just across the Darkesian Sea, whose team is named the Bounty Hunters. Our team fielded first and only lost six wickets, but we weren't able to gain score much as the final result was only 141 points. The Fhaengshian team then played after the Giovannilandians, and even though they lost one more wicket than our team, they were able to score 144 and ultimately won the game. Some highlights from the match were the performances of Liviana Volseno, Renato Velita-Amanda and Gaio Fagundo-Tertio in their roles of wicket keeper, batsman and bowler respectively, while other players were okay." Karlo Nakamura-Edrense: "After our defeat to Fhaengshia, Giovanniland now sits in the bottom of Group C while our opponents are first, and the Saint Markian and Dilberian teams are tied for second place due to a tie in their first game. Due to the small amount of only 3 games, this could mean that another loss would result in an early elimination for Giovanniland. Therefore, our team must win against our fellow Auran neighbors of Saint Mark if it wants to have a chance of entering the next stage called the Super Eight." "In an interview, coach Giustiniana Tarquinio-Anni mentioned that, whichever the result of the next matches and whether our team advances to the Super Eight or not, she's still happy that Giovanniland has participated in the tournament with good sportsmanship, given that cricket is not a popular sport in Giovanniland and is often overshadowed by others such as rugby, football and volleyball. Did you miss us from the Football World Cup?" *crowd roars* "That's great! Now, I am here to report the exact moment in which our national team is coming. Look, the airplane is landing!", Vanessa exclaimed. She continued to talk: "Our cricket team started their flight back home at the International Emperor Giovanni II the Great Airport in our capital Giovannia, and they are now arriving in the Larxian capital of New Larxia to attend the opening ceremony in the King's Circle Stadium. After the ceremony it is expected that they travel to La Marina, where they will play their Group C games in the King Julius International Stadium." *landing airplane noises* "Watch out! The airplane has landed and now you can see the players disembarking. One by one, the eleven main players and the four reserves leave the airplane as they enter the inner airport and travel to a site where they will prepare for the opening ceremony. First the wicket-keepers, then the all-rounders, the batsmen, and finally the bowlers! Oh, look, my daughter Marta Desniana has just left the plane!" Vanessa then gets emotional after seeing her own daughter, before finishing her live coverage. "Stay tuned for the opening ceremony, which our channel will also give a live coverage of. For now, I give the floor to my colleague Karlo Nakamura-Edrense where he will speak some more about our team. Goodbye!" *Vanessa disappears from the screen and is replaced by Karlo* "Alright, so you have just watched live coverage of our national team arriving in Larxia, and now you will see interesting information about our team's games and more!", says Karlo while interesting graphs appear on the screen. "Our team is part of Group C, together with the Andolian nation of Fhaengshia and the Auran nations of Dilber and Saint Mark, all of which will play in the city of La Marina throughout this first stage of the T20 World Cup. The first match will happen tomorrow and will be against the Fhaengshian team, after which we will play against the Saint Markians and finally the Dilberians." He sips a cup of water before continuing to talk: "In this sport called cricket, wins are awarded two points while draws are awarded one and losses, of course, are awarded none. If Giovanniland manages to get either first or second place in Group C, our team will advance to the Super Eight phase, where two groups of four teams each have three more matchdays. Finally, if our team also wins or is runner-up of this group, it will participate in the semi-finals and then the grand final or 3rd place match." It is then time for the brief overview to finish. "Alright viewers, that is all for today! Tomorrow we'll have a report on the Giovannilandian match against the Fhaengshian team. See you then!", completes Karlo.

May 7, 1420 12:30 AM International Atomic Time / 01:30 AM Over Time Unknown dark alley in Yemiduga City, Fisheros, Zoran Three days after the Senato of Giovanniland had decided to switch the country's support from the Grand Defense Council to the Monarchists, there were already a dozen Giovannilandian intelligence officers across Zoran in order to keep the government updated of any important happenings. Some of them stayed in Monarchist-controlled lands and were the main channel for contact between Monarchist leadership and the Giovannilandian government, but others were spying on the enemy factions. Two of them, named Teodoro Violetino and Ulisse Margavio, were tasked with staying on the Corporate-dominated city of Yemiduga in order to try to retrieve any important information from the Corporates. For the past two days they spent time locating the houses and apartments of high-ranked Corporate executives, as well as tracking their movements around the city. They hoped to steal an office key card from one of these executives, as that would be the only plausible way of breaking into the National Zoranian Banking Clan Tower and finding secret information. It was past midnight, and they believed it was finally the time to strike. "My friend Ulisse," Teodoro quietly whispered, "I think it's finally time. Most Corporate executives have already gone to sleep or are spending time on gentlemen's clubs or restaurants." "That's good news," replied Ulisse, "it means we finally have the chance of finding out secrets kept by those evil capitalists. Tell me, where is the nearest of these executives' houses or apartments?" "I think it should be around 200 meters to the east of where we currently are," said Teodoro. "Let's go there quietly, there's no time to waste." After arriving there, Teodoro spotted two security guards. "Damn it! It seems this evil capitalist has spent quite a lot of money to keep his apartment secure," Ulisse said. Teodoro nodded, and they proceeded to go southwest in the hopes of finding the house of Corporate executive that was a tad more careless. Ten minutes later, they arrived near another house they had located a day earlier. Seeing as there was no visible security guard, they managed to bypass the electric fence and entered the front yard. Ulisse quietly celebrated, "Success! Now to break into this evil capitalist's house and proceed with our plan." However, they were dismayed to find that the front door was locked. "Ulisse," ordered Teodoro, "please walk to the back yard and see if there is any door open, while I stay here to watch if anyone comes to stop us." Luckily, nobody came as most people in the city were asleep, and Ulisse ended up finding a hidden open door that gave access to the executive's bedroom. "Teo," Ulisse whispered with joy in his walkie-talkie, "I've found an entrance, and there seems to be nobody in here! This careless evil capitalist must've gone into one of these clubs you mentioned. Please stay cautious right where you are while I search for his office key card." After sweeping through the rooms of the house and searching everywhere, Ulisse found the office key card. "Huh, they are more forgetful than I thought", he muttered to himself, "and now they will pay dearly for their mistake." He notified Teodoro of his find, and the two quietly found their way out of the house about 20 minutes after they arrived. May 7, 1420 01:45 AM International Atomic Time / 02:45 AM Over Time National Zoranian Banking Clan Tower; Yemiduga City, Fisheros, Zoran Teodoro and Ulisse finally arrived at the National Zoranian Banking Clan Tower after tiptoeing through Yemiduga City for almost half an hour in order to not be caught. "Here, my friend," told Teodoro to Ulisse, "please wear this corporate uniform just in case. We ought to be as discreet as possible now that we are so close to our goal." Ulisse nodded, and the two broke into the tower, conscious that one slip could doom their entire operation and risk their lives. They proceeded to quietly go up the stairs, checking if there was any security guard watching them. Fortunately, the half-asleep guard they met was convinced and let them pass when, after stopping the pair, Teodoro grabbed the executive's stolen office key card and lied, saying that he had forgotten something in Kunagadoga's office. "Victory," he whispered to his colleague Ulisse after the guard was out of their view. Finally, they arrived at Kuna's office and Ulisse started to rummage through all the drawers and desks, in the hopes that any secret information would be there, while Teodoro stood near the door to keep an eye on the outside. They were starting to lose their hope after spending almost 20 minutes without any new find, but in one drawer was an alarming map that stood out from the rest. It was a map of the Zoranian islands and Lavender Island to the south, with some badly-drawn lines pointing to Blue Bubble and Giovanniland. "This is... outrageous!", thought Ulisse to himself as he was frightened by the map. "These evil capitalists haven't even won the civil war yet, but if they do, our homeland will be in great danger! Our families, our friends, and the entire peoples of Lavender Island would be enslaved by this corporate empire! I am speechless..." Teodoro then saw Ulisse staring at the map while searching in some other files, and then went to comfort his friend as tears of anger ran down his friend's face. "My friend, I am aware it's horrible," whispered Teodoro as he also sought to contain his anger, "but we can't waste time. Let's take some photos of this map and leave as soon as possible, because this is already enough information for now." After both were calm again and took the photos, they quickly sent them to Gavio Edrense-Otakilio, the Giovannilandian Minister of Intelligence. "We can't risk failing to send the information after we found it out, just because someone finds out we are here," Teodoro said, and Ulisse nodded. They went down the stairs and in some minutes were out of the tower and back to the dark alleys of Yemiduga City, seeking a refuge somewhere so they could continue their operations in the following days. May 7, 1420 7:30 AM International Atomic Time / 8:30 AM Over Time Giovannia Capital City, Giovanniland As the Prime Minister of Giovanniland, Amore Gile Albrente, had just woken up in her official residency and went to take care of pressing internal and external affairs, one of her aides rushed into her room. "Your Excellency, the Minister of Intelligence wants to bring important news," said the aide. "Send him in," Amore replied. Gavio Edrense-Otakilio then entered the room and started to deliver the information. "Your Excellency, two of our intelligence officers have brought disturbing news right from Yemiduga City in Zoran. Teodoro Violetino and Ulisse Margavio, as they are called, found out some hours ago that the Corporate faction plans to invade Lavender Island if they win the civil war." "Oh my, this is horrifying news!", replied the Prime Minister. "We ought to support the Monarchists more than ever, and maybe even send some arms and funds there to help their cause. Thank you for this information, Minister." Guillermo nodded, and then he left Amore's room, as she prepared to change her plans for the day. One hour later, Amore went to meet the Senate Speaker and Deputy Speaker, Aurelio Quavilla and Elisabette Martino-Treboni respectively. She instructed both to craft a bill with the intent of sending funds, arms, and assistance with espionage to aid the Monarchist cause; and then present it to both houses of the Parliament as soon as possible. They both nodded, and by the end of the day, the bill passed with a fair majority in both houses, the main opposition coming from the Republican and Patriot parties who ironically wanted to ally Giovanniland with the very faction that sought to invade their country if they won the war.
