  1. The idea of building something upon a framework appeals to me more than taking a constitution and changing it just because this could be the rebirth of a new, active TWP with a new way of doing things instead of merely adapting what has been already created. Building, to me, also seems to be a more interesting way of getting people involved. As I've said before, I'd be happy to help in anyway you need me to. I'm currently also preparing a survey to send to all members of NSR, so expect that soon. I'm not pointing fingers, I merely observed that when TWP's activity collapsed until only the Guardians were active, nothing was done to properly reignite activity. Until now. I am glad that there is hope for TWP's activity yet and I await the glorious day when TWP rises from it's ashes to retake it's position on the global and home front. Just curious, but how do you fight against MOD inactivity?
  2. Game mechanics sounds like an interesting topic and one that I would enjoy learning about. Influence does seem like a strange concept, especially for GCR's. That in game influence does not have to translate into forum or governmental power though.
  3. Sounds like a good idea, although, I don't like the Delegate being referred to as king. I do understand that this concept can be turned into whatever we want whilst maintaining its basic form which is a bonus. It still sounds like the guardians are being awarded far to much power and I believe that they should act much like the House of Lords in the British Parliamentary system as opposed to benevolent overlords.
  4. I am warming to this idea but I wonder how this would look on the world stage. TWP lowers all defences and virtually invites every government in NS to come and have a go at "saving" TWP from raiders; it would be an opportunity they would be foolish to miss. Even then, anarchy could get quite tiresome after a while. One ruler comes along and the region accommodates them, changes the rules to their liking, then a new one comes and everything has to be changed again. True. It's all or nothing now.
  5. That is the Guardian I was referring to. _____ Will talking work though? The previous forum was abandoned due to lack of activity and TWP has been talking (quietly) ever since, but nothing has changed. There's all sorts of problems with anarchy that couldn't be settled just with the Guardians on stand-by though. TWP would be under constant threat of invasion and where is the line drawn between an anarchic Delegate and an invasion force? _____ @Phanari: You sound like me about a week ago. We are trying to improve the situation; this thread is here to try and find ways of encouraging more activity.
  6. It's not a bad idea and it could work. I'm not sure, though, whether or not the Guardians would relinquish power that easily - some have blatantly said that they wouldn't.
  7. Welcome to our humble forums Phanari! *Points to the famed TWP liquor cabinet* - Help yourself. Don't forget to join in with the conversations in this forum! IH
  8. *Handel's Hallelujah Chorus begins playing over the TWP sound system* __________________ I'll start a debate on this topic on the RMB when the RMB activity is at it's next high point.
  9. I will endeavour to do what is needed. I believe it is necessary to take some of this discussion to the RMB (sorry Tweedy) to get the average TWP member involved in the discussion and to hopefully drum up some members for the forums. Does anyone object to doing this?
  10. Welcome to TWP, your Holiness! *Unloads Chippendale chairs* *Moves towards bar*
  11. Democracy also generates conflict, but within the system.
  12. Can the damages be reversed? All of you have been in TWP much longer than I, have you ever seen TWP recover from activity this low?
  13. Work with the Pope Delegate or for the Pope Delegate?
  14. How long will this vote be open for? The results look quite conclusive.
  15. Roque legislators? Where? If I see any, I'll let you know so you "can assume the reigns as Delegate once again and ban" them. Why didn't you voice this opinion before (Delegate opinion), instead choosing to declare it when TWP needs a system like the one proposed most? What I proposed was not perfect and it needs to adapted to make it as good as it can be, if this includes changing how the RA works with the Delegate then that is not a problem. Every system can be improved. I realise that I may have insulted you with my tirade on the Guardians and for that I am sorry but that is not a reason to completely disregard everything I have to say.
  16. It will be my aim to achieve a harmony between the two so that they are both extensions of each other rather than the forums just being an afterthought that doesn't really do anything.
  17. I thank you for the offer Tweedy and I would be happy to help in any way I can.
  18. I do not represent a clique and neither am I a member of one. I am disappointed that you think I am doing this just so I can put myself in position as Delegate; this is not the case. I am speaking now to try and revive TWP, you have all said either on this forum or the last that there needed to be more activity so I am curious as to why you oppose me and what I'm trying to do so vehemently. Your post suggests that you are happy with the status quo of low activity and a region that doesn't interact with themselves instead of an active region that gives more than game offers by itself. Without offsite forums, all regional activity would have to be on the RMB and via TG, two things which hardly involve as many people as possible. I also find your comment hypocritical in that all members of the WA in TWP are 'encouraged' to endorse the Delegate and are subject to the endorsement cap, the punishment for ignoring said cap is probably banjection. That is a group of people imposing themselves on a region, not what I am trying to do. For the most number of nations in NS, democracy is not a given thing as in nearly all GCR's, the founder ultimately holds the reins. I only suggested that the highest voted in the RA becomes Delegate as that is the system that most in NS employ, it could easily be changed so that the WA Delegate (as elected by WA nations) becomes the head of the offsite government. But only if that's what most people want. As for the power-grab thing, no. It is a democracy I'm advocating, not a dictatorship. If at the end of all of this I'm elected to Delegate, great; but I'm not going to accept a position that I know that I can't hold in the best way for TWP. Try to do something constructive and get accused of trying to seize power.
  19. Democracy. The others can't offer hope for a sustainable TWP future. Democracy is only a weak sham if it is made that way, see my post here: Link.
  20. Ooookay. It is in all of our interests to find a system that works for everyone as opposed to the few (the current system). I don't believe that you truly don't care what type of government we have as it will effect this region (including yourself if the Guardians are eternal) for years to come. By building a stable legislature with real power, TWP could become a powerhouse on the world stage with an influence to rival even the most powerful of regions. TWP could either rise in glory or fade into relative obscurity in the NS World. The RA may have been a "bunch of whiney jackasses" but that was only because they were allowed to become so. The old system of apply and be admitted was, clearly, ineffectual and in need of an overhaul to something more constructive. Regional Elections may be the best direction in that, say, 5-10 RA slots are up for grabs and they can only be taken by citizens (not inactive members) when they gather enough votes. Voting campaigns, messaging, talking, legislating. All of these things can be achieved by the method I've laid out and, more importantly, interest is stirred up in the region for current TWP affairs and the rest of the world starts to take notice that TWP is up for business. The WA Delegate will be the RA member that acquired the most votes. These elections could be held every three months to keep things active (1 year is a very long time). If necessary, distinguished members of TWP (Guardians) can form a House of Lords with a reduced power compared with that of the elected House. An integral part of this is utilising the new TG regional system to inform the entire region (4562+ nations) of what is happening and how they can get involved. TWP cannot stay as it currently is. It wont be able to function soon and TWP's influence will be significantly reduced. Unless something is done now. None of what I've just said is perfect and it can all be improved, but talking is the key. These debates have stirred a great deal of interest in the past few days and I hope they continue to do so. My problem with the RA thing is that PD seemingly turned up, said "RA's not working. Get rid of it," and it was done before any attempt was made to reignite interest.
  21. I know, but surely it's not a good thing for the parts of NSR that count to be hidden from view? *Reshuffles papers and continues bickering*
  22. Thank you for your support, Dark. I am currently writing a regional telegram that Yy can send out to the region to try to bring people in on the discussion. Whatever we eventually decide on doing, it needs to be a regional thing involving as many people as possible. Although I do like the idea of a parliamentary system.
  23. If it didn't fail, what did it achieve? You cannot state merely having regions as a way of proving that NSR was active; NSR was supposed to be more than the loose alliance of regions that it turned out to be. Oh yes, that highly populous, active and well-known region Skyrim. You would have to find ED before he could come and argue the case of NSR. Who? The spiralling number of in game embassies that TWP has? The forum embassies? Or the regions that TWP does a great deal of work with? Nothing says a successful pact between regions than the taking of a Warzone. I have enough information. Although, a survey could be carried out in NSR regions...
