  1. Would someone be able to change the name of the Office of the Interior Ministry (of the Imperium) to the Office of Internal Affairs to reflect new management? Also, does the Minister of Make-Believe have any jurisdiction in Internal Affairs? Terran Borealis doesn't seem very active on the forums from what I've noticed, so I'm not sure if he/she still has that position. The message underneath the name Office of the Interior Ministry says this: Could someone change the “Interior Ministry” part to “Office of Internal Affairs” as well? If someone could do that, it would be appreciated. Thank you!~
  2. Hello, for those of you that do not know me, my name is Hariko, and the Advocate Big Bad Badger has appointed me as Deputy Advocate of Internal Affairs. My job will be to manage events on the forums and to collaborate with Mediobogdum for in-game activities, recruit active in-game players onto the forums, and to take assignments from the Voice and the Advocate. I welcome suggestions for events, so if you have one, you can contact me via my profile page, or send an in-game telegram. If you have questions, again, just send me a message and I'll do my best to reply in a timely manner. So, TWP, have fun in the Clubhouse or really get into a Roleplay thread!
  3. Journalists: Please send me any topics or incidents that you want to cover in the upcoming edition so that Russo and I can start planning the layout of the first issue. Also, I am open for people to send me rough/uncompleted drafts. You don't need for them to be done for me to review them. Of course, BBCoding will be for when you send in your article for final editing. Fish: Would you be able to do an advertisement for the fiction festival this summer?
  4. Hello, if you have any questions, feel free to ask. Our current advocate is Elegarth, I'm the deputy advocate of internal affairs, and Darkesia is the Delegate of the in game region. Anything you're interested in participating in? We have roleplay, game threads, and a government you can participate in. Oh, and people are writing stories for the upcoming fiction festival.
  5. Reçu, your article has been edited and BBCoded for. Contact the Editor-in-Chief for a link.

  8. The soldier chokeholded Teukero, pushed him up against the other lavatory door, and handcuffed him before handcuffing his ankles and shoving a gag into his mouth. “Maldra sanot!” she shouted. “Ja, halum aeroplane sano,” someone said in the cockpit. That person then came out with Sobehido similarly restrained, and the two of them were carried out of the plane. A jeep appeared on the tarmac, and it took the four of them to a helicopter nearby, which they were thrown into like a sack of potatoes. “Bilang suguto el-Harikees halum el-Sock?” the pilot said. “Ja, halumu el-Harikees el-Sock, i halum ud el-Kapitalbilding,” she said. The helicopter took off, and the island was now completely empty. Silent. Dark.
  9. OOC: Tracking chip? Sounds like either an invasion of privacy or overprotective allies. Lol.
  10. With that, the Harikenes went to their plane, walking down the hallway. “Why is our plane parked so far away from everyone else's? The other countries' planes are right next to the conference room, but ours is on the opposite end of the building,” said Teukero. “I don't know, security or something,” replied Sobehido. As they walked down the hallways, it was eerily quiet. The surveillance cameras would follow the Harikenes as they walked down the halls, making a quiet, electric whining sound as they followed the two men. But, it wasn't any passive scanning of the hallway. Teukero noticed that they were actively following them. “Sobehido, walk faster,” Teukero said. There was one more sound breaking the silence. A faint footstep every once in a while, just enough to arouse Teukero's suspicion. The farther they walked, the more frequent the footsteps were. They also got louder. When the Harikenes were within 100 metres of the gate, the footsteps sounded more like running. “We need to go. Now,” Sobehido said. With that, they began to run. Each potted plant scared them, because someone could be hiding behind it, and the shadows in the room put them on edge. The lights in this wing of the building were off. The footsteps were certainly closing the gap between them. They sounded more like stomping, as if a man in a suit was sprinting down the hallway. By the last 5 metres, they heard a click. They sprinted, terrified for their lives. Knocking over armchairs and tables, anything in their way as they ran straight for the gate. A Tommy gun began firing off, miraculously missing them as they ran into the jetway and onto the plane. The jetway was pitch black, and the door into the room behind them slammed shut. Teukero frantically flung open the door to the plane, and then locked it and barricaded it. He then ran to the back of the plane to lock the rear doors. Sobehido opened the cockpit door to tell the pilot to take off immediately. When Teukero locked the rear doors, he heard Sobehido shout, “Dead!” What!? Who!?, he thought. Terrified, he ran into the stewardess' chamber, and opened the door to one of the lavatories, only to see a disfigured body crammed into the toilet. He vomited right then and there. Panicking, he turned around and opened the other lavatory door, and saw a woman in camo uniform pointing a handgun between his eyes. “Occupied.”
  11. So, I've gotten sick with some sort of viral infection that makes me drowsy and have a sore throat, as well as a few other symptoms. It's going around town. #BanIRL. Because I'll be asleep a lot, not really able to follow what's going on, I'll be absent for a while. Thanks for waiting! *sneeze* I have made a surprisingly quick recovery. Carry on.

  13. “I suppose so. Oh, Thorhalli Armod asked me to give this to you.” Sobehido took a small box out of his pocket. It looked like a glasses case, but sturdier. “Armod asked me to not let it get wet or shaken. I think it's some gadget, or it has something in it. I don't know; I didn't look inside. Well, I must be going now. It was nice seeing you. Teukero, we're going.” The Harikenes then walked down the hall, and the light to the conference room behind Gi turned off. Gi hadn't seen a device like this in person before, but he definitely knew what it was. “Clever, Armod, clever,” said Gi. With that, he left for his plane.
  14. Do you like my profile background? :D

  15. “Oh. In Hariko, we hide our smartphones underneath the conference table, haha,” said Sobehido, “but you're probably looking for something more subtle.” “Yeah, Sobehido's glasses are actually Google Glasses, so he was reading online comics the whole time!” chuckled Seutipan. Sobehido glanced at Teukero before turning back to Gi. “...He's new.”
  16. Lo es gracioso, ¿no?
  17. Sobehido remarked, “Yes, that is a good idea. Um, Gi-ssi, what are you doing with your hand?”
  18. What are the rules for subject-verb inversion? I know that in general, Spanish has a Subject-Verb-Object sentence order, but when to change it to Verb-Subject-Object still confuses me. From what I know about Germanic languages, Verb-Subject-Object is used for yes or no questions, V2 verb order is usually used in Germanic languages other than English, and English uses a strict Subject-Verb-Object sentence order. VSO: Are bananas a type of food? SVO: Bananas are a type of food. V2: Een banaan is een groente niet. [«Un banano no es un vegetal.» The first verb in a V2 sentence goes between the subject and object, while a secondary verb goes at the end of the sentence, and an auxillary verb goes after the main verb.] Would you be able to explain that for me? ¡Gracias!
  19. “Teukero was asking if the El Sock representative would feel safer travelling with us. We all know what their...tendencies are, and we're hoping to take some of the heat off of the Reçuecians.” “I don't think they will take up our offer, Sobehido.” “Me neither.”
  20. So I know that there are two distinct flavours of Spanish, each with their own dialects and accents, those being Latin American Spanish and European Spanish. My problem is that my school decided it would be a great idea to teach us Latin American Spanish, but throw in a medley of Iberian words just to trip us up. So, my question is which of these words are the preferred word for Latin American Spanish, ignoring words specific to one area of Central or South America. Some of these might not even be from different dialects, which just shows how confused I am. ¿Camarero o mesero? ¿Judías o frijoles? ¿Computadora o ordenador? ¿Banana o plátano? Side note: What is the difference between «querer» and «desear»? Also, country names in Spanish. And how to pronounce «ll» and «ce». ¡Gracias, Elegarth!
