DPY: The Half Report
By Nakamura Gou (@GomuraOfficial)
TEN - Yamamoto of Ten Navigators hits a homerun versus Daito Metros
We're in the middle of the 1420 season! Let's make a quick overview of the action in both AKA and AO league.
A⮈ HALF REPORT
Team P W D L For Ag +/- Pts 1 Kuji Pioneers 54 37 0 17 302 218 +84 111 2 Hamaguchi Galaxy 54 27 0 27 221 253 -32 81 3 Tsurishima Orcas 54 26 0 28 255 241 +14 78 4 Hanto Argonauts 54 25 0 29 228 248 -20 75 5 Kuyama Kodiaks 54 24 0 30 240 256 -16 72 6 Kurooka Blackbirds 54 23 0 31 231 261 -30 69
Kuji demonstrated once more their power with a brilliant display of small ball talent. With a rampant +84 run difference, there’s not so much danger for the “Big green” on the first spot. The surprise of the season came in the form of the newly reformed Hamaguchi Galaxy. After hiring prospect pitchers Minato Hiroshi and Kanegae Masahiro, the team propelled itself into a unexpected second position. Their run differential was still damaging, but even with the team playing unreliably, they found themselves at the very top of the table.
Tsurishima Orcas and Hanto Argonauts have a fight of their own in the center of the table. With 53 more games to go, the teams are already thinking about the Star Series. Tsurishima is clawing their right to be part of the playoffs, but Hanto is right behind them. Will the Islanders win, or will the pride of the port take the spot?
Kuyama and Kurooka are at the very bottom; however, one place was way more surprising than the other. Kurooka struggled from the beginning, with rumors of team rebuild in the close future. On a different footing, the sinking of the Kodiaks killed many fan’s bets on the season. The reason of the results are not clear at all, judging by their roster, packed with Veteran power who made the team a top tier squad in both leagues.
⮝K⮝ HALF REPORT
Team P W D L For Ag +/- Pts 1 Kozan Diggers 54 32 0 22 260 207 +53 96 2 Ten Navigators 54 32 0 22 230 209 +21 96 3 Daito Metros 54 27 0 27 259 260 -1 81 4 Taiyou Goldstars 54 25 0 29 222 246 -24 75 5 Fukutani Bisons 54 24 0 30 216 237 -21 72 6 Hozen Zenith 54 22 0 32 225 253 -28 66
The new season started with a big rivalry on the east side of the country. Daito Metros trailed behind their eternal rivals, Kozan Diggers, when Ten Navigators started a brutal campaign that ended with a tie into the first place by points. Diggers power potential was the only thing that separated Kozan with the more aggressive smallball playing Navigators, who nonetheless accumulated a +21 run differential.
In the lower half of the table things are also surprising. Taiyou Goldstars managed to surpass both their expansion mates and the older Hozen Zenith, who suffered in the bullpen side. All three teams have negative run differentials, suffering huge loses in their series between the top three of the table.

Work in progress. The league will have a two-way simulation: The forward simulation, with current, up-to-date seasons, and the "Backward machine" simulation, where we relive what happened in the DPY until we catch up to the starting year. The thread will be build over time, and some things may change with the backward results.DPY
--- DASKEL PRO YAKYUU ---Daskel Pro Yakyuu (Dasukeru Puro Yakyuu) or DPY, is the top professional baseball league in Daskel, TWP. The league started in 1360 SM with 8 teams. After the regular season, the best four played in a three-game per series playoffs. After that inaugural season, the league had many reformulations. Nowadays, the DPY is conformed by a two-league system; The AO (Blue) and AKA (Red) leagues. It's a common debate if one of the leagues should incorporate the DH rule, but until now, the DH is not employed in any kind of daskelian baseball. Both leagues have their share of historical teams, contrasting with the newest clubs.
In current system, each team play versus their league rivals 18 times; six 3-games series in total. They also play 3 times vs teams of the other league. After the regular season, the DPY hold the Star Series, a championship play-off tournament to decide the top pro team in Daskel. Each league top team is automatically qualified for the Star Series in their league arc. The second spot in each league arc is decided by a 5-game series between the second and the third place of each league. After that, the championship continues with 7-games series until the finals.A⮈ LEAGUE
AO league, also known as Nishipuro (West pro), is composed by six teams aligned in the west and center side of the country. In terms of club ages, AO has older teams than the AKA league. Historically, baseball developed early in the west side of Daskel.

WBC49: Daskies wins vs Sarzonia, miss the spot
By Nakamura Gou (@GomuraOfficial)
This year was a brilliant display for Daskel's baseball team. However, the Group 2 of the WBC49 was unforgiving, and Daskel couldn't clinch for the playoffs in Newmanistan.
"You know, this hurts in many levels, but the worst feeling is that we couldn't make Shintaro play" Told us Kojima Takeshi, ace pitcher of the team.
Shintaro Nobuhiro is the catcher of Team Daskel. The alumni of University of Daito was injured at series 7 vs Banija, after a close play directly on the plate that ended with Daskel's tie at 8th inning.
"I'm obviously frustrated with this outcome, but I have to learn that my health come first. This injury will take months to heal. Nothing serious, but I have to take care of it.
After Shintaro left the team with a leg injury, Team Daskel lost the next series against Kohnhead 3-0. Back-up catcher Eidome Yōichi placed a public apology for the result.
"I replaced a giant on the field, and I failed. I did the best I could, but we lost the series in terrible fashion. I promise to be 100% better next series against Sarzonia" Ended the words of the young catcher. Series 9 against Sarzonia were, by far, a surprise. The first series against them was a victory for the Daskies, and this time, our national team did it again. The team, even after losing a qualification spot, were grateful and answered Eidome's statement, with words of encouragement and future.
The next series is the last for this WBC, confronting Daskel with Liventia on the Daito Kyujo. Let's cheer once more for our Daskies!

If this zone is not claimed yet, I'd like to make a land claim
Nation name: Republic of Daskel
Discord name: Narkov #0029
A short paragraph about your nation:
Daskel is a rising, seafaring land. Democracy is a big part of the nation's civil culture. Years ago, civic participation in politics was fading away, but current government's blunt move on civic education raised the percentage of active voters. The current goal of Daskel is to turn into a reference of inclusion and culture in their many forms. The national animal of Daskel is the Orca. The sighting of these mammals are fairly common on daskelian shores, and a welcomed presence for the nation's citizens.

@Overthinkers I completed it? Maybe I did something wrong. May I send it again? Just checking to avoid double entries
Edit: Done!

Hi from the lands of Daskel! We are a developing nation, with a capital city and province called, unironically (I swear I did this before joining NationStates!) Astor City. Currently working on civil rights, the nation strives to be a place where inclusion and culture is the key. We love killer whales with passion! (Also love dachshunds with passion, but oh well, let's call those little legged friends our "off of record" national dog?). I am new in this game, but I'm learning the ropes of this diverse user made universe.

POSTCARDS - A travel through Daskelian Prefectures
PREFECTURE OF KUYAMA
LIFE
Once a full rural area, Kuyama now have a couple of big cities. The capital of Kuyama is Koma, which burst with life even in the night. Even with the surge of technology, and the trend towards office work, Koma does still have a strong local economy with old, artisan shops that are part of the country's cultural heritage. Apart of Koma, the second biggest city is Torishima. Both cities are connected to the sea plan area.
In the past, Kuyama was a distant place from the biggest, most populated cities. Now, the prefecture is well connected to the city area of Hanto and Kuji via train. The SWD Line run across Kuji, Hanto, Sankai and Kuyama, with possible extensions to Nishimizu in the future.
