Nope. If they can't be arsed to get here in the time scale of the election, then tough.
I think the world is about to end. Everyone get ready.
-
I say we just extend the polls for 24 hours. I am aware of at least one person who would like to vote who hasn't had the chance yet.
Then they should have made time to be present within the last five days.

I have sent a message to the Delegate asking her input on my opinions. I would like to await her response before making any decisions.
That said, I am not in favor of any further elections for the Prime Minister position, regardless of timescale.
-
No, that's not the way I'd handle it. I'm expecting to make it like this:
1. Elected upper house on the forums which handles day-to-day normal stuff, passing laws, etc.
2. Assembly of all individuals in the in-game region which directly represents the peoples' will and balances the forums' power.
I believe #2 is called the Regional Message Board.

How are we open to NPO influence?*sighs*
You know what? I'm absolutely sick of this.
Why? I repeatedly have said: I admire TWP. I love its tenacity, its lightheartedness, its spirit of individuality and uniqueness. What I don't like is parts of how our government work and the fact that we're too open to NPO influence.
The Delegate and Guardians protect TWP. I have known most of them for a very, very long time and know that they are strong willed individuals that would not consider subservience to any other region.

I think the name of the body will be determined through the course of a convention on the subject. Since this is not a bill it should not be treated as such.
I support the idea of a full constitutional convention taking place since it is becoming increasingly apparent that certain parties are unhappy with the current government structure.
I also agree with Arch regarding the title. Prime Minister implies authority that simply just doesn't exist within the confines of this body.
-
Are you really so ignorant and out of touch? Just because I oppose you in this election you think that justifies disparaging the entire governmental structure on the NS Gameplay forum? You even include part of your supposed platform as a reason I voted for Elegarth in the complaint there? I like how you are already spreading your incompetence to the rest of NS on our behalf.
-
This isn't a constitution. It's a normal law.
I believe it is being suggested that this is a constitution and that the current laws be replaced in entirety.
-
My main concern with your candidacy is that you don't seem to have a firm grasp of how our system actually works.
It would appear that you will win this election, but it may be the case that some will leave the Assembly and form an opposing government or simply go with Arch and try out a new constitutional convention to create something different.
Who knows. What I do know is that I am surprised that so many people are voting for someone to uphold the ideals of a system that he doesn't seem to support.
-
I look forward to your draft.
-
It's bare, I think.
I am all for the abolishment of the current legal structure but will insist on maintaining the Delegate's decision to keep the offsite community and ingame governance separate.
-
Milo is rather good at dodging IPs though so he certainly could be.
Considering that the Pacific Senate currently consists of the Emperor and two Senators, both of which were old men in the NS world before Milograd was conceived, I sort of doubt he has much influence at present.

It builds ties between the in-game and the forum, helping them work together, and also improves trust by allowing the forum government to have at least a bit of power in-game to serve as a counterbalance to the other Guardians' authority.
I believe Eli was pointing out that this is an incorrect way to look at the position of Prime Minister.
To be honest, even if you win this election, as it seems you might, I am not so certain having you take up the role would be in the best interests of the community since you clearly are seeking to undermine the ultimate reason for the role to begin with.
The PM can not have an ingame component in TWP because the Delegate has stated that it can not be so. This has been clear from the onset.
-
Perhaps, if that's what you believe. I can hardly force you to pick a specific person as Guardian; however, I believe that it would be a good idea for the Delegate to allow the PM to exceed the endorsement cap.
Why?
-
Is Milo still in TP?
He may have a puppet nation in the region but I am fairly certain he is not a part of the government on any level.
-
do you think the Prime Minister should have any role game wise?
I was about to post a similar question.
I believe I know the answer since it has been stated several times that the Prime Minister should be a Guardian within this thread but I would like to know for certain what other role Llamas envisions.
I personally see this as the problem with the entire idea of a Prime Minister. It was all well and good to have a Speaker for the Assembly but a PM implies a certain level of regional authority that this offsite community was not ever meant to possess under the current structure, in my opinion.

Unfortunately, I can not speak to that. I was personally on LOA for this entire event and upon my return my associate in The Pacific seems to have immediately begun addressing this issue in Gameplay. It would appear that Feux made some private deal with AMOM about NPO reinstatement which didn't pan out and resulted instead with a senate appointment in the NLO.
What I can say definitively, based on my own sources and investigation, is that regardless of AMOM's post, and any dispatch (which I have yet to see), AMOM was not ever reinstated into the Pacific Senate for any moment. He never had access to anything relating to NPO government.
As to why this was not addressed, from what I can tell certain parties were contacted privately to disavow this position. But, it seems that the NPO's primary diplomat resigned in protest and the secondary person for that role was busy in Lazarus. If you couple that with the apparent lack of communication internally that seems to have occurred between what the NLO was planning and what was shared with the NPO you get a nice big clusterf*ck such as we have seen here.
-
I really do miss the days when players like this actually played the game.
...Anyway, I thought AMOM was in the Pacific Senate at the time he made his statement. I'm old and don't pay as much attention as I used to, but wasn't he in the Senate at that time?
No, he was not. He was never reinstated and his statement regarding this was a lie.
Also, at least one such player has decided to take up an active role again.

"Until further notice, please Endorse Regent Pierconium instead of Feux.
There is going to be a lot of changes in the next few days, keep an eye on our forums, WFE and Regional TG's.
Disregard any other correspondence that is not from myself, Pierconium or Aleisyr."
Krull just sent this to every Pacific nation and posted it on the RMB
Yes, it would appear that acting against the will of the Emperor has consequences in The Pacific.
-
-
I say we wait and see, maybe, but I oppose them controlling anything but the pacific.
I believe the new Regent of The Pacific has a similar point of view.
-
I have it on good authority that some of the errors that have taken place in the handling of the Lazarus situation on the NPO side of things are being handled.
I believe TWP has maintained a good relationship with The Pacific for a long time now and personally do not wish to see that thrown away over what some in the NPO are calling an overreach by certain parties and a blatant clusterf*ck by others.
-
Unless someone in the NPO of higher authority than AMOM posts a clarification of AMOM's retorts, we can only believe that AMOM's comments represent the will of the leadership of the NPO.
I don't know what else we have to contradict that.
To clarify then, AMOM is not a member of the Pacific Senate at all and therefore does not speak for The Pacific at all. AMOM was a member of the Lazarus Senate and since the majority of the NS world seems to think that is somehow below the status of the former then any clarification from any person in the NPO by default supersedes it, which my source certainly is.
