Addendum: Haetonia is a democracy with a turbulent past, and has only began to grow significantly in the last 50 years - albeit continuing to be a developing country. Major industries are computer and appliance manufacturing, food processing, tourism and agriculture.

Short Paragraph:  Haetonia, officially known as the Republic of Haetonia, is a country in southwest Aura. The Barry Sea constitutes the whole western coast. It is a fledgling democratic state. Uniquely, extensive reclamation has been done to the coasts over the centuries, however it has sharply declined in the past few decades over environmental qualms. Despite its vast boundaries, Haetonia's population density is imbalanced, with the population mainly concentrated to the northwest and south, while the northeast is mostly uninhabited forest and mountain ranges, as well as the lush tropics of Ye-ha to the south. The country prides itself in having very preserved fauna and flora. Haetonia's capital and largest city is Yarataga.

GRAND FINALE: Days 8 and 9

Jan Stebbelhaum live at the closing ceremony in Saint-Josalyn, here to give you a live broadcast of the ceremony and a summary of days 8 and 9! We were unable to broadcast the 8th day report due to a technical problem, so we apologize for the delay! Anyway, the past 2 days were fairly good for our delegation, and this closing ceremony is certainly a  for them and the Novasamitan fans here in Tara and Cambray! Here's a summary:
    Day 8
    - The 100 m run was not a very lucky event for Novasamita, with Viktor Sumaawalait failing to even qualify for the list. Kyle Senning was more successful, ending up 8th in the overall, and 10th in the final. Both are willing to compete next year, as they find the Olympics an event to enhance their skill.
    - For the Tennis singles, Ruth NaOnwe did well in the first round, defeating Sania Ahmed of Larxia, but was later defeated by Hedwig Blackcross of St. Mark in the second round.
    - The Novasamitan Roosters basketball team was defeated in the semifinals, against Hertfordia, by a slim 2 points. 74-72.
    - The Rugby Sevens team experienced no luck either, defeated by 2 points as well by Fujai.
    - The Volleyball team defeated Nieubasria in the semifinals, 105-97.
    Day 9
    - The Bronze Medal game for the basketball event wasn't very good for Novasamita, being defeated again by Nieubasria, 64-75.
    - Rugby sevens wasn't lucky either, with Giovanniland pounding our team, 31-7.
    - The volleyball team grabbed gold from Hertfordia, 107-102.

That's about it for our final report on the Olympics! Now let's watch th-

[overlapping with Jan] Where's my medals?!

[from main studio, Ilirovia] Jan, you guys OK there?

    Day 7 of the Olympics

Anne Krevelsted at the Athlete's Village in Saint-Josalyn, here to bring you another update on the Olympic games here! Today has been an incredibly lucky day for our team, gaining 4 medals in total today, which is fairly good in comparison to the previous days. The wins today has raised our total ranking to 7th place from 4th place. Here's the recap of events:

    - In the discus throw event, the first event with Novasamitan participation, we won our first silver medal thanks to Mikel Snowberg, narrowly beaten by Holly Lally of T&C. Paul Kringen, however, ended up 5th in the final tally.
    - We were even more luckier in the road cycling time trial event, with Kyla Uenssen grabbing the gold for Novasamita, at a speed of 34 minutes and 46 seconds.
    - Our Karate Kumite athletes Rosa Helmer and Art Sylvessen won bronze and gold respectively, thanks to their tireless training and preparation.
    - Finally in the Volleyball quarterfinals, Novasamita managed to defeat the Iradorian team in all but the second sets.

That's it for the daily update on the Olympics, see you tomorrow!

    Day 6 of the Olympics

Anne Krevelsted reporting live from St-Josalyn Track and Field, here to bring you a recap of Day 6! Our athletes are still optimistic despite losing to their respective opponents, and we also won 2 more medals! (Our editors were itching to change the medal tally for TV.) Here's the summary of events:

In the 1500 m Freestyle Swim event, Novasamita's athletes Mikel NaGrahe and Jan Hulsten performed not so good, being 8th and 27th, respectively in the overall rankings, while in the Gymnastics: Vault event, Marie Jenssen wins yet another medal for Novasamita, this time bronze. Her co-athlete Brien Klassen, meanwhile, was 9th placer. In the total all-around, Jenssen and Klassen ended up 7th and 22nd, respectively.

In the Karate Kata event, Jaekob Trannen managed to defeat Della Vancee of Nieubasria in the semis and Ollie Kassman of T&C for the gold medal match, managing to win another gold for Novasamita. Our volleyball team managed to defeat Teralyon in a slim victory against them, making their record so far 3 wins and 1 loss.

That's about it for today's report! Thanks for tuning in and hope to see you tomorrow.

Day 5 of the Olympics: Recap

Jan Stebbelhaum again reporting from the Novasamitan Embassy today, here to recap Day 5 of the Saint-Josalyn Olympics!

Karl Furhjel of the 10 meter platform diving event ended up 21st in the overall rankings, performing not so good. His poor diving attempt has made rounds across the Internet, and has become a meme on the chat boards Deddit, 5kun, Tumble, and 10joke.

    hqdefault.jpg.e5cac217b27502800374f14072e4e2c6.jpg
Karl Furhjel achieved fame not in perfromance, but in failure, as a photograph by Olympics reporter Jan Krebels went viral.

His co-athlete in the event, Micheal Van Helsen, did not so good either, ending 23rd out of all.

In Gymnastics: Rings, Brien Klassen tied with Kristian Ringstad for 13th place, while gold medalist Marie Jenssen tying with 2 others for the 18th spot, with Kolchi Pencis and Kristian Bevan.
Jaekob Trannen of the Karate: Kata event defeated Dernie Minute from Recuecn, while our volleyball team suffered their first loss against Zoran!

That is about it for today! Jan Stebbelhaum again, reporting from the Embassy of Novasamita at Tara and Cambray today! See you in the next report!

Day 4 of the Olympics: Another Gold For Me!
Hello Novasamita! This is Jan Stebbelhaum reporting from the Athlete's Village in Saint-Josalyn, and I'm here today to give you a summary of the events that happened yesterday!

In the 3 meter springboard diving event, Tylle Marke ended 4th, being beat by T&C, Irador, and St. Mark. Johanna Killassen met the same fate, although she had a much lower ranking, being the second to last. Our 4 x 100 meter relay team, comprising of  Viktor Sumaawalait/Kyle Senning/Jonas Nordhelm/Kristen Radwel (NTA) managed to finish 9th place, Jonas Nordhelm and Kristen Radwel ending 6th and 16th, respectively, in the Marathon event, and long jump athletes Emeri Laahanogu and Nicholas Janssen finished 5th and 18th.

Meanwhile, in the Gymnastics-Parallel Bars event, we once more won another gold! Marie Jenssen managed to finish 1st place in her game, thanks to the overwhelming amount of her family members and relatives attending. In our interview with her, she said "her confidence and the sheer number of fans attending gave me courage to reach for gold." Our lat remaining fencing athlete, meanwhile, Fredrik Jagred, was defeated in both Semifinal and Bronze games. Although losing, Jagred was smiling and laughing at the end of the matches, saying that the games were a blast for him and that he'd like to participate in the next Olymipcs.

Judo athletes, Kyle Rommen and Anna Kimarue, were defeated by Giovannilandian athlete Ulysses Yang. Novasamita's basketball team comes out with more success as they defeated Fujai, 70-94 in their latest game. The rugby sevens team is also experiencing success, defeating Larxia, 28-24.

That's about it for today's summary! Here's an athlete list for Day 4:

Day 3 of the Olympics (LIVE from Saint-Josalyn)
Hello Novasamita, I'm Jan Stebbelhaum reporting to you live from the Saint-Josalyn National Stadium in Tara and Cambray! Our team, despite suffering losses, is still pretty confident! Here's a quick summary of the events that transpired today:

Lars Nordhelm tied with Tracy Renoir of Fuentana in the Pole vault competition, both reaching 5.75 meters. Jan Nagrotte of the Individual Dressage competition ended up being 9th place, and Brien Klassen and Marie Jenssen were dead last.

Meanwhile in the fencing event, Fredrik Jagred beat Michael Guardian of Saint Mark, 10-9, Bartholomiu Granden defeated Marcus Meinhardt as well, 13-12, and Josef Erdhart was beat by Morgan Yip of the Commonwealth, 14-15.

Jagred and Granden went on to beat Nieubasria (Jagred v. Miltone, 12-11) and Teralyon (Granden v. Kristic, 14-12). Granden was eliminated in the quarterfinals against Glenn Woods of Nieubasria, 10-13, but Jagred endured, beating James Preston of Larxia,

Our lacrosse team, though, suffered another loss, this time to Tara and Cambray, 10-9. The coach of the team said the players will "need some beefing up and training to do". Baseball hasn't been so lucky for Novasamita either, with our team losing to Hertfordia, 4-1. Novasamita has the lowest ranking in both sports currently.

Basketball seems to be more of our forte, as the national team still heads the rankings of Group 2, with Novasamita recently beating the UMS team, 72-58. Same goes for volleyball, where the national team defeated Bobki's team, holding the lead for all sets but the second.

And that's about it for the daily Olympic update! Now, back to the studio where Anna and Josef discuss about the newly-implemented welfare reforms.

Day 2 of the Summer Olympics - Review
The second day was not very abundant for the Novasamitan delegation, especially those in the single events. Shot put athletes Peter Rubensen and Jonas Nordhelm were both in the lowest 5, Brien Klassen was narrowly defeated by Halona Ani'-Wah' of Zoran , Janna Kircholmsen getting 17th place and Luis Venne getting defeated by Rachel Cordina of T&C. Novasamita's lacrosse team suffered another loss as well, and the team for baseball lost too.

Most of the successes today were by team groups, though. Novasamita's basketball team rose to 2nd place in the second group rankings, defeating Fuentana 73-68. The Rugby Sevens team absolutely pounded the Marble Mallorcan Republic's team, 7-40, as well as the volleyball team, who won against the Iradorians.

The rest of the Novasamitan delegation, especially the teams who qualified for next rounds, are hopeful tomorrow will bring more wins.

Novasamitan Spectator Hyperventilates After Shot Put Ball Nearly Misses Him By Inches, Rushed to Hospital
Sports enthusiast Karl Druslau was watching the shot put event at the Saint-Josalyn Track and Field, 9th of June, when a shot put was accidentally thrown onto the net, and barely missing Druslau. The 58-year old, known to have asthma, hyperventilated rapidly, causing him to have difficulty breathing. His friends noticed this and immediately rushed him to the hospital, where he is currently being treated. He will be sent home to be taken care of further at his hometown of Mittelbache. Stadtholder Vredgaar has sent him a bouquet of flowers and an inhaler.

    2 Novasamitans Get Gold!
In today's Canoe and Kayak Slalom events, two of our athletes, Pyter Kollen and Jan Rudek, succeeded in being barely quicker than the rest of the participating athletes, with Jan getting 85.03 seconds in Canoe slalom, and Pyter getting 84.99 in the kayak slalom.

"Never thought I'd get that far," said Jan after being interviewed by Channel 5's team during the award ceremony. "Real great to win a medal for our country! Wish I could replay that moment of glory a hundred times!" He walked off being cheered by Novasamitans.

Pyter Kollen's inspiration was his father who taught him how to kayak. "He's in the ICU back in Novasamita right now, so I decided to lift his spirits by dedicating my win to him."

As of today, these are the only 2 medals Novasamita has so far.

Day 1 of the Summer Olympics: A Tale of Chickens
Many Novasamitans are thrilled for this year's Summer Olympics, to be broadcast on Channel 2 and the Nysportessen channel. Novasamitan Airways reported a surge in flight bookings to Saint-Josalyn in the days preceding the opening ceremony, with about 50,000 in the span of 2 days. Novasamita's delegation arrived in Saint-Josalyn a day before the opening, looking forward to the Olympics.

The athletes waved Novasamitan flags as they went by during the parade of nations, but as the next team emerged, the delegation sent 50 chickens loose, causing quite a ruckus among the spectators and the next team. The athletes made a run for it as security guards were dumbfounded, and confused on what to do. As they hurriedly rushed to the exit in order to evade security, they released even more hens on the street, causing traffic jams and in some instances, minor collisions. The team agreed to pay reparations to authorities and apologized. They are currently staying in the east part of the city at the Kingdom Hotel, and they practice at a nearby gym facility.

The delegation is determined to bring pride and fame to Novasamita by winning as much medals as they can. Stadtholder Vredgaar has shown great support to the team and has sent regards to them. He is set to attend the entire event to cheer on the candidates. As of current, it is expected that there are 100,000 Novasamitans currently in Tara and Cambray to attend the Olympics, and the TV viewership in the duration of the event is expected to be nearly 5 million at best.
