RepublikAufTexas
Hey guys i had a question are you shocked or amused by the amount of Communist,Socialist, And Facists states. When i frist got on here i was amazed at the amount. Now my country says im a Democratic Socialist which is far from true.Im a beileve in a full free market with little to no government involvment. The government in my eyes should be a Libertarian one,but im not about to get in to any ones business on how they run they're country or how to run it. Morpheus
Nationstates has always been, especially through issues, a randomiser. It gives a random title to what 1, 2 or 5 issues (depending on how inactive you've been) you have decided upon for your nation. You could vote accordingly to your beliefs and could turn out a fascist bastard!
God-Emperor
I don't even answer issues anymore.
Papercuts and Skittles
I rotate through about 3 or 4 classifications depending on what issues were popping up, but it's always a corporate paradise with no political rights, the only things that really changing is my social rights for the most part. Silentium
You do have to understand that NationStates isn't a true political simulator. What you though would give you a free capitalist society may just give you the opposite. And you can thank all of this on the little depth to the actual game. Every issue gives you a few options, and each option usually increases one part of your government while decreases another. That's just how it goes. I would personally love to have a more socialist state with some capitalism, except the options only give me socialism or corporatism (not even "real" capitalism). The best thing, in my opinion currently as I'm typing this up, would be to only answer the issues that would get you closer to your goals and hope for the best. Me personally, I just answer almost all issues. They're quite interesting, and it's also intriguing to see how your actions affect your country. Maybe sometime down the road I'll actually be a little more serious with my country.
Papercuts and Skittles
I wish dismissing issues effected something, but I dismiss a lot because I really couldn't be bothered to care about that
Westwind
I dismiss most issues, but occassionally I pay a bit more attention to them. NS is it's own world that doesn't translate well into RL.
Eli
it is sarcasm and unintended effects to the max, did I say Max??, you know in that regard it is pretty consistent with Real Life, which we should all banject, you make a decision and then all the unintended results happen...
