  1. Hello there! I am A fish in the sea, and I am joining the TWP forums for a contest in TWP. The first round of the contest already ended, so it's ok for me to post the rules of it up here:

    *sips coffee*

The contest is open to any TWP nation who is interested. You may join the contest at any time as long as you follow the first steps.
This contest is designed to give future GamePlay stand-out players an idea of some of the skills they must be aware of to become sucessful GamePlayers and Delegates.

Older, more experienced players who wish to participate, please let the newer players take the lead and just go along for the ride.

There will be an overall winner and winners in several categories. Winners will have their names published in an announcement distributed to our allies and placed on our WFE.

Do not break game wide rules at any time during this contest. If you don't know the rules, ask.
You may ask any player for advice in IRC. You may telegram any player for advice. Try to keep RMB discussion to a minimum.

At the end of the contest we will have a Q&A session with several experienced players and the contestants.

    *pours second cup and sips*

    The Contest begins now

Step 1 : Make a puppet nation with your known name and the word contest either in the puppet name or the motto. Make a new one, don't use an old one. Move the puppet to TWP. Change the flag to that of TWP. Apply to join the WA, but do not accept the invitation. Send one telegram identifying yourself to the following three nations : Myself, BBD and your own Main TWP nation.

Remember, you can ask any player for help or advice.
This announcement will be repeated throughout the day and posted on the forum.

    Good luck!

So that's why I came here. I will not disclose the next part of the rules until it is finished.
  2. I so wish I wasn't on my phone. Would love to rant about some of the completely idiotic ideas floating around the forum right now.

Remember a very important fact, Llamas supporters: his plan requires a completely subservient delegate who does nothing but post polls and vet the votes received.

    This
    Will
    Never
    Happen

    Never

Feeder delegates are ego maniacal power mongers. We don't do subservient. Not in our nature.

    Umm...

    The Assembly

    • The Assembly would be handled using regional polls. Assembly polls will remain open to all WA members in the region, making sure that each person only gets one vote; however, votes cast by those who have been in the WA or region for less than a week would be discarded and not counted in the official tally, in order to prevent manipulation by switchers or people moving into the region just to vote before leaving.
    • The Delegate will be head of the Assembly, organizing debates and voting to keep it from getting out of hand.
    • The Assembly's main powers will be reserve powers. Rather than handle the day-to-day running of the region, the Assembly will be expected to serve as a check on the Senate's authority and to represent the will of the region as a whole, rather than just the forums. As most members of the region are not highly interested in the niceties of legislation, bills passed by the Assembly will not require their approval to become law.
    • However, if a petition is signed by at least 1/3 of the Senate supporting a referendum on a bill, it will be moved to a vote before the Assembly; should it receive more than 50% of votes cast there, the bill will pass.

    • The Delegate or the Prime Minister may move to recall one or more senators. In order to succeed, the motion must receive 2/3 approval in the Assembly.

    The Senate

    • In the future, the Prime Minister will be nominated by the Delegate and then confirmed by the Senate. The Senate shall have the authority to remove the Prime Minister or any Officer they appoint through the use of a vote of no confidence. The Prime Minister will also be the head of the Senate.
    • Senators will be appointed in one of two ways: Either the Prime Minister may propose a new Senator to the Citizen's Assembly, who will then ratify the choice, or the Delegate may propose a new Senator to the current Senate
    • Senators may be expelled from the body by a 2/3 majority vote in the Senate.
    • All bills passed by the Senate are subject to veto by the Delegate.

    Delegate:

    • head of Assembly
    • organizing debates and voting to keep it from getting out of hand
    • nominates Prime Minister
    • proposes new Senators to Senate
    • can veto bills

Yeah, I can see where Dark is coming from. I think the Delegate might need a little bit more power so that the Delegate role will actually match up to the Delegate. I'm still with you, Llamas! :P

A thought just popped into my head, Llamas. Why don't you change your flag to the Arizona llamas chase? Maybe if you don't win the election or something.

  3. I believe that the ambassador corps are an important thing that are in need of loads of rebuilding.

The army is great, but the ambassador corps are IMHO at least as important. I am starting a campaign to rebuild this noble establishment as it is an ESSENTIAL part of our suite of offices here on the TWP forums and presence internationally.

If I MYSELF must go to each region and request an embassy, I will do so.

If I must staff every embassy, every off-site forum, every anything that we need to support a wholesome and mutually beneficial relationship with the other regions, then I will do so.

In this way will I fulfill my duty to TWP.

If no one will take the ambassadors seriously then I will do it all myself.

I agree completely with you. We need to rebuild the ambassador corps first and foremost. Besides, what would you want, peace or war?
