If TWPs military is in rebellion against the Delegate they'll get banjected. Just like any other tawdry miscreant. If they're in rebellion then they aren't TWPs military but someone else's. If that's the case why have one at all? I have to agree with Vlagh, there is no legitimate role for the forum govt. with the military, it is solely a game function. If the Delegate wants to allow them to frolic without direction then I would defer to the Delegate, otherwise they need to follow the Delegate's orders or move somewhere else.

Real Democracy for All - A Plan for the West Pacific's Government
Eli replied to Llamas's topic in Constitutional Convention
The WA elects a Delegate, not a Counselor or legislator. Me thinks you don't understand the game Frat, the Delegate is the Ruler of the region. There is a HUGE difference between the forum government working with the Delegate toward a desired goal and ordering the Delegate to do something. Were you or the forum govt. to order me to do anything you'd be visiting Unibot in his fantasy world democracy, that you may depend upon. -
we've had 'defender' and 'invader' forces both in the same forum before here so I'm not saying I'm not still for anarchy. there was an 'invader' that supported me for Delegate back when, and when I didn't turn the region full out invader he was offended, thought he'd been double crossed. Actually I asked for his support, when he asked if I would support him, I said I wouldn't oppose him. There is a big difference in my mind between support and a lack of opposition. But other players not so much apparently. *shrugs* nuance can be important

I would prefer that the Voice (nice terminology) would only express it's misgivings or recommendations (by a vote) about treaties that the Delegate may wish to enter into Surely any Delegate that wanted to maintain their position would work with the Voice to come up with a solution to any such issue without a vote in the first place. Likewise I would advocate that any in game military be ultimately subservient to the Delegate, if the Delegate so desires. But otherwise, I must say I'm quite impressed. Cormac you have done well with this.

Goodbye Offsite forum government - A revolution
Eli replied to punkdaddy's topic in Constitutional Convention
We do have elections for Delegate in game, but we use the rules of the GAME to have them. That election is ongoing and it never ends. We, the Guardians, have done the political work in the region to get positions of influence and power. We have worked night and day for years to accumulate that influence and to get the power to set the rules. Every time I send a telegram asking for an endorsement, and I've likely sent 100s of thousands over the years, I ask that nation to endorse my Delegate. When I'm Delegate I ask them to endorse my Guardians. We do the work, we ask people for their support and they give it. The truth is we have an elected Delegate and that Delegate has been chosen by the WA member nations in our region and if they didn't want her as Delegate nothing we could do would stop the WA nations from turning her out. Oh there would be all the usual BS about outside this and oligarchies and blah blah blah, but the will of those with votes would prevail. We worked with our benefactor Winnipeg to set up a forum that is independent of the game. Any player in the region can come here and form a RP government, they can build influence with other players, they can make their case to the Delegate for any policy. They can not dictate to the Delegate because the Delegate is independent of the forum, but likewise the Forum is independent of the Delegate. It was setup that way so the players have a home to voice their opinions, build a community, exchange ideas. I can't imagine that a player that becomes Delegate could possibly keep the support of the Guardians without the support of the forum community. As Delegate you're done if the Guardians are against you, because they have too much influence. so all that rambling nonsense amounts to, do the work and gain the influence and you'll get it. set up a rp forum govt that reflects the game and it'll be more fun. get everyone involved the best you can and you can become Delegate and be there for as long as your energy holds out. -
I did notice it before I pressed 'post' decided it was appropriate

Real Democracy for All - A Plan for the West Pacific's Government

How would the forum compel the Delegate to offer any specific poll for consideration? I know how I would react to anyone telling me I have to do anything when I was Delegate. It would not remind anyone of campfires and kumbaya. -

there can be no forum law that dictates to the Delegate, then any delegate is subservient to the forum and then the game is subservient to the forum which is idiocy and an invitation political upheaval, That is what the false democracies do and claim
