What do I want from my Delegate - well this:
Unfortunately he's not only been at home, he's invited him in for a few beers and then taken him for a slap-up meal at Mrs Miggin's Cake Emporium and Knocking Shoppe.

Thank you Elegarth, you have restored my faith in sanity. I was logging in to post a motion to recommission the Voice and its Charter. I believe it is a workable system given a bit of time and effort from this community. I agree with you completely there.
I also believe that the Delegate unilaterally declaring it void as Fujai said was a violation of trust between that office and this community.
Count me in!

Hamlet Act III Scene II - a most appropriate quote by Queen Gertrude.

Yup, you got the point exactly
Forget exploding turtles, here come the exploding marsupials !
More cruelty to marsupials? Although a reformed character and no longer on the roo fur and eucalyptus oil these days, I still retain a small soft spot for these much maligned and misunderstood creatures.

It's only one opinion, but it's an opinion that has been formed by nearly 12 years of being in TWP. Therefore, I think I can say with a degree of certainty what is true to the nature of TWP and what isn't.

Why does everyone think I'm called Hairy... It's pronounced 하리.
It's something Glenda once mentioned.... never mind.
Hi DH, welcome to TWP. I'm BBD - in charge of wine, dancing girls and snark.

Okay. This might sound inappropriate, but I am actually concerned about the relation between Vlagh and Mr. Ivan Moldavi, a.k.a. Pierconium, Emperor of the NPO.
Personally I think you have every right to be concerned. Don't get me wrong I have a lot of respect for Vlagh/Pieconium/Ivan and his achievements in the NS universe.
Trust him? Not so much.

An apology is a good start, but soft words butter no parsnips. I'll put my little rebellion on hold for now and wait and see what transpires.
Um... okay. I gotta ask: What does Vlagh have to do with Mr. Ivan Moldavi, a.k.a. Pierconium, the emperor of the NPO?
No mean Machiavelli is ingenious Ivan Moldavi.
And if you can name the movie I paraphrased that from without going to the Internet, I'll buy you a beer.
Actually, the role is unique to TWP and was created by Darkesia to do exactly what URA just explained. So, this is the MOST TWPIAN thing you can get, one of the many unique things we have. While would you be proud of our uniqueness and then ask (under the wrong assumption that this is NOT TWPian) one of those things unique to us to be gone???
Most TWPian thing? I beg to differ and I've been around here a lot longer than most. It is a most un-TWPian thing. Most of our off-site governments have not had or needed a buffer or fuse between the Delegate and the government.
Please don't try and sell this as something it isn't.

Expect the unexpected. And booze, lots of booze.

Aaargh, a marsupial!
Hi KK.

Welcome to TWP, home of the free form government and the paragraph. I'm Bhang Bhang Duc, former Delegate, current rabble-rouser and imbiber of fine wines and beers.

TSP's that-a-way >
We've been that way ourselves in the past. Thankfully we moved on.

I miss Indycar Racing.
He was good - top bloke.
Well this is encouraging. Ideas from the citizens. The Delegate and Guardians sounding like they're listening and willing to work on/improve the systems we have.
Fundamentally I am not against dissolving a system of government - but not until it has been shown to be unworkable. And an agreed path forward from that position is also required, not one that's imposed and which the citizens of TWP have no stake in.
-
Give me one good reason why not, because so far you have displayed a stunning lack of leadership on these forums.

The Government of TWP is in your hands people. It is not Vlagh's or URAP's to dissolve at their whim. Do not be sheep. Fight for your right to maintain a government you voted for.
Were there problems? Yes, no doubt. The solution is not to have a hissy fit and chuck everything out. Look at the issues, work with people and find a path forward.
Instead we're going to get some half-baked plan imposed.
The revolution starts here!

Unfortunately some people have forgotten that the principle of separation between in-game and off-site is a two way street. While the off-site does not tell the Delegate what to do in-game, likewise it has been custom and practice for the Delegate not to tell the off-site what to do either.
Up until now there has always been a spirit of co-operation between the two. Unfortunately URAP has made a right pig's ear of that.
Another point: the in-game government is the Delegate, not the Delegate and the Guardians. The Guardians are not the Delegate's Praetorian Guard, they are there for the security of the region. They are there to protect the region from external and internal threats. An internal threat has always included a Delegate who is ineffective or who has lost the confidence of the region.
