  1. Wonderful offer, Fujai, thank you and I hope you get lots of business! Don't want you wasting your time doing RL stuff now, do we?
  2. When it is ready please pass it to Elegarth, now that the RO system allows him to issue region-wide mass tgs. Thus the tg is issued under his name as Delegate rather than me as Interim Delegate.
  3. Why so glum Hariko? Oh, maybe you thought that I had only mentioned my 8 and that was the selection pool! I would presume that The Occidental would make the cut, but that would be up to somebody else and, in any event, the poll result might not be the last word on the matter
  4. I have the following: The Western Union The West Pacific Star The Snark The Westerly Setting Sun The Western Mail The Western Post The Western Banner The Snarky Sun BBB, if you would like to select up to a max of 8 possible titles, when you think you have got all you think you're going to get, and advise me then I will set up a Regional Poll
  5. I knew that those ROs were up to no good
  6. I have already spoken to Autonomica who did much work on Z-3 last year and this was his response to me yesterday: 'Hey Medio, Yes! I have been meaning to get in touch with you and the other active players for the last few weeks. I've also been pretty swamped and had less time that I would like to plan for Z-4. But, yes I am definitely in to put on an even better showing this year. My scripts should still work without major changes, I will still throw up the webpage and host the target list. It's probably still going to be the same crappy HTML-only interface but it's better than nothing. I have to pull a recent roster to see what kind of numbers we're talking about this time around and figure out how long the full refresh cycle will take. I know that NS has been more aggressive at removing inactive regions, this will probably be a good thing for us. Now that we've seen the mechanics twice around I believe in order to get the absolute best returns this go round we need *every* nation in our region to only research a cure. No one can be researching TZES and we should *never* send out the kill squads. Here is my rationale, at the top of every hour during the Z-Day a triggered event seems to occur and passively affect your Survivors/Zombies/Dead based on what you are researching. If we have people researching TZES, some of their zombie population will be turned into dead at the top of the hour. We can't afford this so we need everyone to set Cure as soon as they can so we don't accidentally lose any possible survivors to these passive triggers. Though the highest zombie population = most bang for our buck on cure missiles, I believe it's the *ratio* of zombies:survivors that will actually affect how well we'll perform in the long run. I ran a quick calculation for this last year that was kind of out of whack so I will try to fix that. If the zombie ratio is too high I think people start dying. So some of the tiny regions may need more support up front so we don't lose them all as dead. At the same time the only tactic we should be using against the Zombie Empires is also Cure-only. If we kill them we lose the survivors. Again, at the top of the hour these guys will get more zombies, but at least we can turn them into survivors again and neutralize the threat for another hour. If we are aware and have enough cooperation we can take these guys out pretty quickly and every time they get whacked with a Super Weapon they get hit with the freeze, so they won't be able to send out hordes. We can continue to deal with unauthorized TZES(which is *any* TZES at this point, much easier to track on the regional happenings) and Zombie Empires as we have before, by booting those regions. Additionally I will go through the data and try to pick out the Nations that were building zombie empires last year so we can pre-seed the ban list with them if they made their way back the TWP. I think in addition to making clear this course of action by sending out a mass message and updating the RMB header page- we should try to get volunteers from every, or at least as many overlapping time zones as we can to coordinate efforts on the RMB, point people at the targeting webpage and report any Zombie Empires or TZES activity for anyone who has missed the mass telegram and notice on the RMB header. A full list of active users and their timezones would be helpful too, I will try to throw a webpage together that people can register against. I am in the US East Daylight Savings timezone(GMT -4) myself. Ideally we would also have someone that is capable of banning nations available for the full 36 hours but, that may not be feasible. As long as we have enough active friendlies in each overlapping timezone we should be able to minimize our losses. So the executive summary is: Everyone researches Cure, NO TZES this time Cure the most overrun regions first Cure the most populous regions next Ban all un-corrected TZES activity(we cannot fix the dead) Ban all Zombie Empires (not *required* per se since we can fix zombies, but helpful to get our cure % higher and cut down on wasted effort) Try to get a straw poll of all participants and their timezones / Designate volunteers for every time zone to keep focused and direct newcomers to the targeting page Try to have a delegate or other guardian available for the duration who can ban the non-compliant nations. I'll see what I can do about getting a registration page up, I think NS provides an authentication API, so we can have people verified by NS account but, I haven't used it yet so we'll see. I'll also start up a dry run of the targeting page. Autonomica" Have not had time to absorb much of this but maybe we can draw out some details for a first mass tg to the region about our plans for Z-4?
  7. I should have known better than to have asked Nice one Drak!
  8. Have just seen the first batch of daily issue info/data on the sub-forum Are you going to be able to somehow have the issues listed/linked numerically because having 450 or so issues in a random order might prove to be slightly problematic. Maybe this is asking too much of you and we just see how it goes at this time?
  9. The Mass Telegram Office is at your disposal, BBB
  10. Okay, not too concerned but as you are the real delegate, I will arrange to alter the location to be under your jurisdiction
  11. It depends on the type of correspondence and whether you are talking to him in person if your enquiry was serious, of course! If this was not the case BBB, just bow very deeply and grovel to him as he is now earning much more than you are
  12. Answers: 1. Would you like one? Personally, I think it would be needed 2. What is 'stickied'? 3. Maybe a new entity under The West Pacific Cultural Center entitled 'Ministry of NS Daily Issues' with one of the threads for general discussion entitled 'Got Issues with NS Daily Issues'? To be honest, I do not know how you set up these things up This is very much your baby and just tell us what you want and we'll see what can be done.
  13. I have been waiting for other inputs but my personal view is that this should be an in-game delegate-appointed position and as Ele has also expressed this wish, that makes the decision final. So, Drachmaland, you are hereby appointed as the Minister for NS Daily Issues I will put out a short mass tg, if you would so wish me to do announcing your appointment, and I will also place a post on the rmb. If you would like to either: draft an introductory message explaining your vision of your ministry, we can put it out as a regional mass tg with a link to your dispatch, or you can just start the ball rolling by creating a dispatch which will be linked to our WFE, Just let me know your preference.
  14. I nominate Somebody. Somebody needs to update the membership list of the Voice because there are 11 applications outstanding and who knows how many on the list should not be on it. The last update recorded is the 4th July, 2015 People who have applied to join but have not yet been accepted will not be allowed to nominate a candidate or vote in the election which will make some players very annoyed/angry. Until this list is updated the nomination process should either be extended, or we recommence the nomination process once the list has been updated. We do not want a repeat of one of our previous Voice votes.
  15. I have been pondering about the need for a new 'Minister' position for Daily Issues. There are always hew players arriving in TWP who continually try to talk about daily issues on our rmb and are basically told to "be quiet, we don't talk about such things here!" I have talked to Drachmaland who has a great interest and knowledge in this field of NS gameplay, and he has agreed to take on the role should the position be established. I provide below his cogent arguments, which echo my own feelings, on this matter: "I'd really love to assume said position, because I strongly believe it can be instrumental in increasing participation in the region from the part of the newer players. This approach is perfectly aligned with my own 'hierarchy of needs' in a GCR: by making new players able to discuss what's important to them (i.e., how to deal with daily issues) you increase retention (i.e., they stay in the region), connection (they like it here, because they get help) and participation (you can later bring them off-site, as well). Now, it is true that there are many places with content relating to NS Issues, yet (1) these places are partially outdated (it's difficult to find anything for most of the recent issues), (2) they're imprecise (they provide generic information that does not take into account the kind of nation that wants to see how it'll be affected), (3) they're impractical (i.e. easily confusing a new player), and (4) most new players will seek (and need) an in-region outlet for getting answers to their questions (and our having established that will help us become more attractive to newbies)." This matter really comes under the Deputy Advocate of Internal Affairs, however, at this time, this position is unfilled so I look to our present Advocate, PD, to take this matter further, or let others discuss as they think fit
  16. I believe that (8) the terms of service for the Advocate as written is ambiguous and should read: "The Advocate can serve any number of total terms of four months, but if terms are consecutive, then no more than two may be served in that sequence." I also suggest that the period of service should be increased from 4 to 6 months, for the sake of continuity.
  17. 5 hours ago: Federated European Nations resigned from the World Assembly. 2 hours ago: Untied European States was admitted to the World Assembly. Seems to be genuine then?
  18. Vlagh, thanks for spotting President Eden's possible multiple WA identity
  19. This is tail-end Charlie also welcoming you to the region
  20. Not sure about whether legitimacy enters the matter or not. We had this discussion over Fish and his various guises and came to the decision that we banned him from the Voice and that if we suspected that he had come back as another entity that we could get admins to check on his/their IP.
  21. Respectively, yes you were and your puppet got banjected today, and no we don't.
