This is actually the first April Fool's Day stunt that has me at all interested. Probably the last as well. I'm a gamer, i like playing games, and i like games that require me to do stuff. This is fun...but our population is zombified!

Of course it is. Making sure that the region is secure is critical. You don't want to wake up one day and a non-Guardian is in power and you have no idea what they'll do.

Intelligent Holograms...I'm going to do something that may surprise some. I hold great respect for Eli and Darkesia, but in this I cannot stand with them. It's true I have been involved in usurped governments (aka the Crimson Order) but by and large I have supported the ruling regimes within the feeders. I believe that Eli and Dark are overstepping here and are choosing to do this versus talk with Yy and the rest of us about how to improve things. I told you all before, if Eli one day decides to go in one direction, that's pretty much where we'd be force to go. Well, I say we should stand up and defend our delegate's right to exist and not be under the thumb of the whim of eli or the previously chocolately "goodness" of Darkesia. Yy and Westwind, count me on your side!

This was just a test of the waters to see if we were paying attention. Frankly, with multiple guardians it would be pretty difficult to go undetected in this region. But - I can't blame 'em for seeing if that was the case.

NationStates Republic is now a misnomer. The original idea i had was for a Star Wars like republic; a confederation of regions. That idea was not met with a lot of, shall we say, agreement. It's now an alliance and I would say the membership is presently zero as until region's ratify the constitution, we're effectively non-existent.

Ah...didn't see this post. WOF Democratica is PD's RL Wife. After years of begging, pleading, and prodding she randomly decided to join the game. Woo hoo...now to see if we can get her to stay!

What about a system that incorporated all of the choices above? Go with me for a second...but let's say we have political parties who align themselves with a particular form of government. One monarchy, one anarchy, one democracy, and so on. Each of these groups would create "governmental documents". Periodically, the region would vote on which party to place in power based on their foundational documents aka governmental system. Once elected, the party's system would become the ruling system of the day, but only temporarily. In say 4-6 months new elections would occur amongst the parties and a new party would be selected. Yes, the ruling party could be elected again, but the other parties will have a chance to win their way to power. Thoughts?

Yeah, I don't like 6 at all. I'd be just fine removing it.

This is in 'draft' form so please do feel free to comment. I should also note that we have decided at the NSR that we will only go forward with the regions that sign this document. If regions do not sign the document they will no longer be part of the NSR. We are doing this because of an activity drought and we wish to move forward with regions that also wish to move forward with us.

The NSR has drafted a new constitution. Thoughts?

Milograd...you could probably convince me of that plan. I like crazy. But, I'd bet a large some of money you'd never be able to convince Eli of such a plan. The guardians have really built something here and just blowing it up to blow it up, doesn't seem to make a lot of sense to me. What I do think makes sense is to invite people to these forums to talk, but let's be clear, the region TWP is not dead - only these forums on. Yy4u is active, talkative, and approachable to new nations. That's what you need in an in-game delegate. He has chosen to spend his time there and I think that's fine. In his post above, he's open to something new. But, anarchy does not seem to be the solution.

We've come up with a revised Constitution. Let's discuss. We're looking for member regions who wish to continue with the alliance to affix their name to this new document.

I'd love to try a monarchy in a feeder. That would be quasi-new.

Nah, no one would reject an embassy...but i think - and my memory might be hazy - one of our embassies was closed down in a feeder due to inactivity. The simplest way to get some activity is to hold a constitutional convention. And now with Yy's ability to telegram the region we could create a telegram invitation. We didn't have this capability before, but I think this could be a great way to get people on the forums in general.

An interregional allince with that many posts isn't dead. We have Region Inc. & Skyrim diplomacy. We came close to getting even more and this was when TWP was the head of the Republic. I think ED and I would argue with you that it failed. A number of great relationships were built, a Warzone was taken, and regions were joining the republic as late as November. Oh, this isn't personal. I just think you do not have sufficient data to determine the success or failure of the Republic.
