  1. Definitely a fun liberation. It was nice to work with TWPAF!
  2. Nation Name: Chairman Wow Are you a Revolutionary Party member? If not, do you intend to apply? I've just applied and the application is pending. What are your qualifications for the role? I'm an op-ed columnist for The Rejected Times and I used to maintain my own paper, The Miniluv Messenger. How active will you be in the coming weeks in TWP? Fairly active. I'm bored and there's a lot to do here without many restrictions. How active are you on the TWP RMB? Not very active yet but I've just moved a nation here. To be clear, I'm interested in the Secretary of Media position.
  3. I just went ahead and started doing it because I was bored. But yeah, happy to integrate into an official department if the PM wants to do that.
  4. It looks like this has dropped off again for the most part. I'll be happy to start posting the resolutions for discussion and voting.
  5. I'd like to join. Main Nation*: Cormac Stark TWP Nation: Chairman Wow * I don't really have a main nation, as such. My main usually rotates to whichever nation I'm most active on at any given time.
  6. Signing in. http://www.nationstates.net/nation=chairman_wow
  7. I'm not sure what principles Osiris is supposed to have betrayed. Given that you've stated this not only here but on our RMB, forcing me to cut RMB cross-posting for the first time since it was implemented, would you care to elaborate, or would you prefer to continue speaking in vague generalizations that don't mean anything but make it sound like you have the high ground? Additionally, we haven't attempted to push anyone into a war for our side. We have simply asked regions to remain neutral, rather than dismissing what we've been saying as silly and petty in public while preparing to go have a serious, substantive, and secret discussion about the war with our enemy. We're not asking anyone to take our side, we're asking our supposed "friends" not to turn their backs on us, or perhaps more appropriately, not to stab us in ours when we're not looking.
  8. Clear as crystal, Delegate. Osiris has closed its embassy with The West Pacific and we consider relations between our regions terminated. You may close our embassy whenever you wish. I'm sorry that it has come to this. We enjoyed the strongest relations our regions have ever shared under your predecessor, but your preference for our enemies has unfortunately reversed all progress that was made.
  9. Statement from the Osiris Fraternal Order On the 2014 Regional Sovereignty Conference It has been brought to the attention of the Osiris Fraternal Order that the first three days of the 2014 Regional Sovereignty Conference, to be hosted by the People's Republic of Lazarus and scheduled to begin today, will focus on the war declared against the People's Republic by the Fraternal Order just days ago on 28 August 2014. The Osiris Fraternal Order has warned since the day this conference was announced that this conference is not about regional sovereignty, but about bolstering the Lazarene dictatorship. The devotion of the first three days of this conference to a war in which several conference attendees wish to remain neutral has confirmed the truth of that warning. Having become clear that this conference will not be about the broader topic of regional sovereignty, but very specifically about the sovereignty of the Lazarene dictatorship, the Osiris Fraternal Order urges all planned attendees to reconsider their participation. It is not the fault of planned attendees that the People's Republic has given them no input into the conference's agenda, but it will be the fault of every attendee if they allow themselves to be roped into an agenda that will force them into alignment with one side of a complex conflict. It must be emphasized that the Osiris Fraternal Order does not and cannot consider closed door war planning with the People's Republic of Lazarus representative of a neutral position in regard to this war. Should regions with which the Osiris Fraternal Order maintains relations choose to attend the 2014 Regional Sovereignty Conference, the Fraternal Order will evaluate the status of relations with such regions on a case by case basis according to the strength of our relations as well as the status of relations between such regions and the People's Republic. To clearly communicate this message, this statement will be delivered to the embassies of all planned conference attendees with which the Osiris Fraternal Order maintains relations. As we have made clear in communication to friends and allies, the Osiris Fraternal Order will respect a position of neutrality in regard to this war. We do not seek to pressure non-aligned regions to enter this conflict. Nonetheless, we will not tolerate behind the scenes planning with our enemy, the Lazarene dictatorship, and maintain any pretense of friendship with regions involved in such planning and seeking to strengthen ties with the People's Republic of Lazarus. You do not have to be with us, but we will not tolerate maintenance of relations with those who choose to align against us. Pharaoh of the Osiris Fraternal Order
  10. I'm still around! I actually was never supposed to be the Osiran ambassador to TWP, but due to leaves of absence and such always ended up posting to this embassy in my capacity as Scribe of Foreign Affairs.
  11. How about the Independent tag? Although there's an argument to be made that TWP's flavor of independence is already covered by the Game Player tag, without the other political connotations attached to Independent. But it might be a discussion worth having.

  13. Severance of Diplomatic Relations Between the Osiris Fraternal Order and the People's Republic of Lazarus It has come to our attention that the world at large, and particularly our enemies and the enemies of our allies who are one and the same, may be unclear in regard to the political orientation and military alignment of Osiris. We want to clarify this in unambiguous terms. The Osiris Fraternal Order is, and has been since its inception, imperialist in political orientation and raider in military alignment. Each Pharaoh of the Osiris Fraternal Order has enthusiastically advanced this imperialist orientation, and several have also had extensive military careers as raiders. On the current Hedjet, or Cabinet, are several imperialists and raiders, and the Deshret, our legislature, is comprised of many imperialists and raiders while welcoming those of other backgrounds who can accept the political orientation and military alignment our region has chosen. This is not a mistake or an accident. Indeed, we have quite intentionally chosen to adopt an imperialist political orientation and raider military alignment. It was imperialists and raiders who stood the most strongly behind Osiris last December, when we threw off the chains of oppression imposed upon Osiris by the pseudo-defenders and opportunists who comprise the organization known as Empire. More importantly, the Osiris Fraternal Order has decided that Osiris will never again be the fragile, timid region it was during the days of the Kemetic Republic. We will project our power on the world stage, we will take any military action that is in our region's interests, we will defend and advance our region's interests wherever and whenever we deem fit. We will offer no apology and we will not equivocate. We will not back down under pressure from the faux morality of defender ideologues, who will never be satisfied by anything less than complete conformity to their views and subjugation of regional sovereignty to super-regional organizations led by an elitist oligarchy. Regrettably, the People's Republic of Lazarus has taken a position of rabid anti-imperialism. Government officials within Lazarus have stated that it is in the PRL's interests to extend friendship to Osiris, and yet the path to friendship with Balder remains closed. Indeed, some high profile Lazarenes and the PRL overall have not ruled out the use of direct force against imperialist regions, including Balder, and have pledged to fight a propaganda war against our allies in Balder, The Land of Kings and Emperors, The New Inquisition, Albion, and presumably other friends and allies of the Osiris Fraternal Order that defenders have correctly or incorrectly identified as comprising the imperialist sphere of influence. This commitment to hostility against our closest allies, particularly our twin sister Sinker, is simply intolerable. While we remain distinct from our allies with a unique political and social culture as well as external interests specific to our region, the Osiris Fraternal Order states unequivocally that we will not tolerate this stance of open hostility toward our allies and pretend that the aggressor is a friend to Osiris. Any attack upon our allies, whether through the use of misinformation or through actual force, is an attack upon the Osiris Fraternal Order. We cannot, nor will we, tolerate such attacks. Indeed, we cannot support nor lend credibility to a regime which finds it in its interests to engage in open hostility with most, if not eventually all of our allies. We will meet all acts of hostility against our allies in equal measure and in collaboration with allied regions, up to and including the use of military force. Given the hostile stance of the PRL toward our allies and given that the PRL will not rule out the use of direct force against even a fellow Sinker, as we did in ratifying a non-aggression pact with The Rejected Realms, we cannot move forward with relations with the PRL while maintaining full knowledge that we may be compelled due to the PRL's refusal to respect the sovereignty of other regions to defend our allies against PRL aggression. Effective immediately, the Osiris Fraternal Order severs all relations with the People's Republic of Lazarus. We will maintain no ties to a regime that threatens our allies or our own principles. Moreover, we offer this warning to any region considering a position of open hostility toward or outright attack upon our twin sister, Balder, or any of our allies: If you believe we, who drove Empire from Osiris when others were too timid, are the weak link in the bond of friendship that unites imperialist and raider regions, you are very wrong. We seek peace and cooperation with regions that will respect our sovereignty and the sovereignty of our allies, but if a fight is brought to us, a fight it will be, and the Osiris Fraternal Order has never and will never back down and betray our principles or our allies in the face of adversity. Severisen Isaraider Pharaoh of the Osiris Fraternal Order Cormac Somerset Vizier and Scribe of Foreign Affairs
  14. Indeed. I'm still leaning toward extended April Fools' joke, but I'm really still not sure.
  15. As a very unofficial update to the above article, because the Messenger staff hasn't had time to approach anyone for comment or further investigate, two days after April Fools' Day the Founder nation of Gatesville Inc remains under the control of Noctaurus, the High Council has not been reinstated, and the WFE has not been restored -- though the ejected and banned High Council members have been unbanned. On Tuesday night, Nevadar noted on the Gatesville Inc RMB that Noctaurus had been in possession of the password to the Founder nation only "in case of emergency."
  16. Big Brother is watching Gameplay Editor-in-Chief: Cormac Somerset Managing Editor: Venico April Fools? Gatesville Inc High Council Purged High Queen Nevadar and other High Council members are ejected and banned by "Supreme Overlord" Noctaurus. By Cormac Somerset GATESVILLE - Less than an hour ago, Gates the great, Founder of Gatesville Inc, ejected and banned High Queen Nevadar and all but one member of the Gatesville Inc High Council from the region. Other High Council members purged from Gatesville Inc include Forum Administrator Kraut Killers, General of the Army Sudros, and Propaganda Minister Eviscerator X. The remaining member of the High Council is Noctaurus, the World Assembly Delegate of Gatesville Inc now listed in the regional World Factbook Entry as the region's "Supreme Overlord." The pre-title of Gates the great has also been changed to "The Protectorate of Noctaurus," indicating that Noctaurus now has control of the region's Founder nation. Noctaurus has also cleared all High Council and Middle Council members from the header of the Gatesville Inc off-site forum and has posted the following statement on both the forum and Regional Message Board: It is possible that the purge of the Gatesville Inc High Council is an April Fools' Day prank, but given the history of the Gatesville regional community this story is being taken seriously for the time being by The Miniluv Messenger. Gatesville, the predecessor of Gatesville Inc and original home to its regional community, was purged of all nations by Gates the god in February 2011. More on this story as it develops. Stay tuned to this post for updates. Tips for The Miniluv Messenger? Interested in joining our staff? Contact Cormacville.
  17. With a Malicious Meeting taking place, Co-Hosts Koth and Venico invited a guest onto the fifth Malicious Broadcast. Zeorus joins the usual duo and a chaotic recording ensues. Sit back and enjoy this wonderful work of art. Leave any feedback below and until our next installment, spread some Malice. *WARNING* Contains crass language and general debauchery. Not for the faint of heart.
  18. Correction: The Miniluv Messenger erred in its reporting on the difference between the Dichotomy Act and the Identity Act. Both contain the language against "unjustified invasions," but the Identity Act does not declare The East Pacific to be "non-aligned." We regret the error.
  19. Big Brother is watching Gameplay Identity Crisis: The East Pacific Poised to Repeal Defender Act Unibot, author of the Defender Act, joins other lawmakers in proposing legislation to repeal the controversial law. By Cormac Somerset THE CONFEDERATED EAST PACIFIC - Less than three weeks after passing the controversial Defender Act, the Magisterium of The Confederated East Pacific appears poised to repeal that law. Originally proposed by Magister Unibot, a prominent defender, the Defender Act defines The East Pacific as a defender region and the East Pacific Sovereign Army (EPSA) as a defender army. The law passed the Magisterium on 7 February 2014 by a vote of 7-1-1 with two Magisters not voting and was subsequently signed by Delegate Bachtendekuppen. It has since prompted much controversy within The East's regional community, including a statement by former Delegate and current Arbiter Todd McCloud, a former raider, that he was considering leaving the region. In recent days, scrutiny of the Defender Act has intensified as an inquiry has been brought before the Conclave, The East Pacific's regional judiciary. Arbiter Jurisdictions posted an Opinion of Recommendation to the Conclave early this morning recommending that the law should be voided as unconcordant (unconstitutional) for various violations of the Concordat of The East Pacific, the regional constitution. According to The Daily Issue, two other Arbiters have also stated that they oppose the Defender Act which suggests that there may be a majority of the Conclave in favor of voiding the law as unconcordant -- though it is unclear whether all three Arbiters were prepared to void the Defender Act or had simply expressed their personal opposition. Over the past several days, competing proposals have been introduced before the Magisterium aimed at revisiting or repealing the Defender Act. On 19 February, Magister Old Federalia proposed an amendment to the Concordat that would identify the region as a defender region in order to present the question to the entire citizenry of The East as a referendum. Magister Babiana, known elsewhere as Chasmanthe, proposed the Dichotomy Act on 22 February, which would declare The East Pacific to be "non-aligned," repeal the Defender Act, and forbid the use of certain regional tags. Magister Unibot today proposed the competing Identity Act, which claims that The East "stands for the protection of innocent regions against unjustified invasions" while also repealing the Defender Act and forbidding the same tags that would be prohibited by the rival Dichotomy Act. Magister Nalt, known elsewhere as Topid, today proposed yet another competing proposal that would simply repeal the Defender Act without forbidding the use of any regional tags or otherwise defining The East Pacific's regional identity. It is unclear at the time of this writing which of these proposals, if any, will emerge as the Magisterium's preference, but what does seem clear is that The Confederated East Pacific is poised to repeal the Defender Act. The Miniluv Messenger will bring you more as this story develops.
  20. The Brotherhood of Malice is a separate region (here) with a population of 118 as of right now. The confusion probably stems from our being listed on the Osiris WFE after establishment of the OFO, but we are in fact a separate region founded in September 2012.
  21. Requesting an embassy for The Brotherhood of Malice.
  22. Good Lord, are you Jolly Ole Saint Nick? It's official, literally everyone has a puppet in Christmas.
  23. From my own raider perspective, I think the best alternative is to leave the Liberation resolution in place. Warzone Slavia sounds like a blast.
  24. Big Brother is watching Gameplay Malice is Helping GCRs Again? Coup attempt is thwarted and brought to light in The North Pacific thanks to The Brotherhood of Malice By Venico Date of Initial Publication: 19 February 2014 About three hours after the last major update, Venico and Koth of The Brotherhood of Malice received a telegram from an anonymous nation. It stated that its main nation was about 150 endorsements away from McMasterdonia, TNP Delegate, and asked them if they would be interested. Venico played along in order to find out who this actually was in order to bring the information to light and to see if these claims were true. After being added on Skype, the conversation continued and the nation revealed their true identity. It was Haafinger and Hjaalmarch. The claims were verified then as H&H was indeed 141 endorsements away from the delegate and only 34 away from the vice. This threat was serious and if it landed in the wrong hands, an operation could have caused The North Pacific a huge headache. As the conversation progressed, it was eventually uncovered that this person was claiming to be the original region crasher, Sythia. Bringing this information to McMasterdonia, Venico chose his friends at TNP. His comment on foiling a raiding forefather was this, "I believe in raider unity. I was torn about how I should feel, selling out one of the original raiders. But I discovered the very reason I was torn was also the reason why I did the right thing. The North Pacific is currently aiding The Brotherhood of Malice in the raid of St. Abbaddon. They are our friends and brothers in arms. I cannot allow attacks on my allies, nor will I allow a threat to grow. I believe in raider unity, it's not my fault that Sythia doesn't." In a statement given by McM, he states "Attempts to undermine the elected Government and topple the elected Delegate cannot be tolerated. It is imperative that we remain alert to preserve constitutional order in the region, and take immediate action to eliminate any threats it faces." After banning H&H, McMasterdonia was forced to rescind this ban as there was some contention over whether or not the delegate followed proper procedures. An indictment has been granted and hopefully we'll soon see a case being presented at the court. Due to this show of good faith, The North Pacific has opened in game embassies with BoM and is opening forum embassies in the near future. Hopefully this will lead to continued military cooperation and a strong bond between the two regions. It wasn't so long ago that Malice was leading the charge in Osiris in establishing democracy and unifying the region. Despite taking the field with malice in their hearts, it seems they might have a soft spot for GCRs there too. Telegrams Full Skype Chat Apologies for the previous bad formatting on the above. For whatever reason the forum occasionally refuses to center anything in my posts.
  25. Big Brother is watching Gameplay Milestone: Equilism Celebrates Tenth Anniversary Westwind: "And now it's been ten years. Equilism continues through good times and bad." By Cormac Somerset-Holland EQUILITY - Equilism kicked off its tenth anniversary celebration today, a reminder to the broader NationStates community of the longevity and success that user-created regions can enjoy. Equilism has been a pioneer region in NationStates gameplay, once a leading member region of the Alliance Defense Network (ADN) with the E-Army showcased as the third largest military in NationStates in 2004 and a military powerhouse for some time after. During the gamewide activity slump of 2006, Equilism controversially underwent The Schism in an effort to kick-start activity in the region and in NationStates more broadly even as many of their friends and allies were fading from the game. Activity has been a hallmark of the philosophy behind Equilism, its government and culture, with the region playing a leading role in defining independence as a regional philosophy and advocating a shift toward independence in the post-Influence age. Westwind, one of the longest serving and most prominent citizens of Equilism, offered his thoughts on this milestone for Equilism in a speech to commemorate the region's ten year anniversary. "And now it's been ten years. Equilism continues through good times and bad," he said. "Always with strength in our diversity, and respect for each other. Through activity and inactivity. From Founder to Founder. From Generation to Generation." Westwind has previously served as Founder of Equilism and in many other roles and remains as root administrator of the Equilism forum, respected by regional citizens as a Father of Equilism. "We're thrilled to have made it this far, and very proud of all of our members throughout the years who have helped us get this far," Astarial, Equilism Director of Marketing (Officer of Foreign Affairs), told The Miniluv Messenger. The region's ten year anniversary celebration features contests, games, recollections by longtime citizens, historical information, and a new regional map unveiled today and designed by Astarial. The festivities are scheduled to run from 11 January to 18 January.
