  1. I thank you for the offer Tweedy and I would be happy to help in any way I can.
  2. I do not represent a clique and neither am I a member of one. I am disappointed that you think I am doing this just so I can put myself in position as Delegate; this is not the case. I am speaking now to try and revive TWP, you have all said either on this forum or the last that there needed to be more activity so I am curious as to why you oppose me and what I'm trying to do so vehemently. Your post suggests that you are happy with the status quo of low activity and a region that doesn't interact with themselves instead of an active region that gives more than game offers by itself. Without offsite forums, all regional activity would have to be on the RMB and via TG, two things which hardly involve as many people as possible. I also find your comment hypocritical in that all members of the WA in TWP are 'encouraged' to endorse the Delegate and are subject to the endorsement cap, the punishment for ignoring said cap is probably banjection. That is a group of people imposing themselves on a region, not what I am trying to do. For the most number of nations in NS, democracy is not a given thing as in nearly all GCR's, the founder ultimately holds the reins. I only suggested that the highest voted in the RA becomes Delegate as that is the system that most in NS employ, it could easily be changed so that the WA Delegate (as elected by WA nations) becomes the head of the offsite government. But only if that's what most people want. As for the power-grab thing, no. It is a democracy I'm advocating, not a dictatorship. If at the end of all of this I'm elected to Delegate, great; but I'm not going to accept a position that I know that I can't hold in the best way for TWP. Try to do something constructive and get accused of trying to seize power.
  3. Democracy. The others can't offer hope for a sustainable TWP future. Democracy is only a weak sham if it is made that way, see my post here: Link.
  4. Ooookay. It is in all of our interests to find a system that works for everyone as opposed to the few (the current system). I don't believe that you truly don't care what type of government we have as it will effect this region (including yourself if the Guardians are eternal) for years to come. By building a stable legislature with real power, TWP could become a powerhouse on the world stage with an influence to rival even the most powerful of regions. TWP could either rise in glory or fade into relative obscurity in the NS World. The RA may have been a "bunch of whiney jackasses" but that was only because they were allowed to become so. The old system of apply and be admitted was, clearly, ineffectual and in need of an overhaul to something more constructive. Regional Elections may be the best direction in that, say, 5-10 RA slots are up for grabs and they can only be taken by citizens (not inactive members) when they gather enough votes. Voting campaigns, messaging, talking, legislating. All of these things can be achieved by the method I've laid out and, more importantly, interest is stirred up in the region for current TWP affairs and the rest of the world starts to take notice that TWP is up for business. The WA Delegate will be the RA member that acquired the most votes. These elections could be held every three months to keep things active (1 year is a very long time). If necessary, distinguished members of TWP (Guardians) can form a House of Lords with a reduced power compared with that of the elected House. An integral part of this is utilising the new TG regional system to inform the entire region (4562+ nations) of what is happening and how they can get involved. TWP cannot stay as it currently is. It wont be able to function soon and TWP's influence will be significantly reduced. Unless something is done now. None of what I've just said is perfect and it can all be improved, but talking is the key. These debates have stirred a great deal of interest in the past few days and I hope they continue to do so. My problem with the RA thing is that PD seemingly turned up, said "RA's not working. Get rid of it," and it was done before any attempt was made to reignite interest.
  5. I know, but surely it's not a good thing for the parts of NSR that count to be hidden from view? *Reshuffles papers and continues bickering*
  6. Thank you for your support, Dark. I am currently writing a regional telegram that Yy can send out to the region to try to bring people in on the discussion. Whatever we eventually decide on doing, it needs to be a regional thing involving as many people as possible. Although I do like the idea of a parliamentary system.
  7. If it didn't fail, what did it achieve? You cannot state merely having regions as a way of proving that NSR was active; NSR was supposed to be more than the loose alliance of regions that it turned out to be. Oh yes, that highly populous, active and well-known region Skyrim. You would have to find ED before he could come and argue the case of NSR. Who? The spiralling number of in game embassies that TWP has? The forum embassies? Or the regions that TWP does a great deal of work with? Nothing says a successful pact between regions than the taking of a Warzone. I have enough information. Although, a survey could be carried out in NSR regions...
  8. What else can you do to get your nation back? Is there anything we, as a region, can do?
  9. What could you have possibly done to them to get such a response?
  10. Indeed. An active forum is one of the defining features of a region (many regions require you to have one before accepting embassies), without one, TWP will be left behind in the ever evolving NS world.
  11. It will never die, true, but its activity certainly can.
  12. And what a great addition to the region you'll be tomorrow, next week, next month and forever and ever amen. Your forum is empty and (therefore) your regional activity is at an all time low. That is a crisis.
  13. You may have had the regions, but did they actually do anything? Signing on the dotted line is a lot different to working together as a stable unit. Pardon me, I forgot this got personal. I'm not just thinking it, it did fail. The truth is NSR didn't achieve the goals you set forth because what large, powerful region would want to bow down and worship TWP when they can quite happily run things by themselves? You and I both know NSR needed big regions for it to work. 60/86 members have less than or equal to 5 posts. That's hardly an active majority.
  14. If you're not willing to do anything, why accept the title "Guardian"? "Guardian" denotes a trust that in times of crisis a "guardian" will act to protect TWP. This is a crisis. If you are the only stable force in the region, you have to take the decisions to get people involved. New members are not going to want to join in with a discussion with a bunch of "old" members that talk about things that happened years ago. Promoting the forum could have been a good first step. Buckle up, it's here.
  15. I would disagree with this. NSR barely even got off the ground before it fell into inactivity, I would give it two months at most. A confused leadership and a confused direction will do that to a budding alliance.
  16. @PD: Are you saying that you do not find fault with the current system? The empty forum? The unheard voices of thousands of TWP members? Are you saying that you are glad that the current ineffective system is in place? I find fault with this statement due to the fact that there are only 7 guardians yet there are 4'557 TWP nations. No one, save your enclave, has any idea of what's going on and no one can influence the region. This statement shows a level of corruption that I didn't think existed in TWP. @God-Emperor: I believe that this is the beginning of what will eventually lead to a new TWP and I thank you for your support.
  17. If I'm correct, it was you that proposed "giving up the ghost" that was the RA. Taking umbrage is pointless, it was you that put the forces in motion to disband the RA, effectively turning the TWP into a dictatorship, a nice one but a dictatorship nonetheless. Especially if this: is what actually happens. I am perturbed by the notion that nothing could be done to save or adapt the RA system employed by TWP, as nearly all other regions (feeder, sinker and UCR) have found something for their members to do (I point to your activity in TNP, PD as, surely, your position and title are not the signs of a region that has lost the ability to act). If it was ineffectual, do something to change it instead of simply discarding it as another failed project - you have a strange way of being legislating friendly. You don't have to drive the bus, but most people would get out and push if the bus gets stuck in the mud. The way I see it, the bus (to continue your metaphor) is seriously stuck in the mud at the moment and it will take help and work to get it going again. Surely, being TWP's oldest members and guardians, you will help this bus get moving again; surely you will help to get TWP operating again; surely you don't want to see years of TWP history that you all helped to build and make go down the toilet because you couldn't be bothered to do something. That's great, but they're not doing anything. I mind keeps coming back to this. This appears, correct me if I'm wrong, to suggest that the people that run TWP simply "go along" with whatever the Delegate wants to do. That's wrong. No wonder TWP has stagnated if the Delegate has sole power over a region of nearly 5000 and a team that simply does what he says; where's the discussion, the innovation? I'm beginning to wonder what the world view of TWP (at the moment) must be.
  18. A good question, but you're are not in exactly the same position. TWP has a more than good chance of revival (I would save that revival is probable as opposed to possible), whilst NS Republic needs serious work or it will die soon. NSR needs to be taken seriously by all regions involved, something that I don't believe has happened yet, for it to succeed.
  19. Viva la revolution! I'm always up for a rebellion. Seriously though, I'm not the only person that believes something has to be done, am I?
  20. Let's hope it works. Though any potential new regions will need to see massive change in NSR before even considering applying for membership.
  21. Indeed. I believe it is time for the wheels of change to begin turning once more. We must either adapt the current system or start anew. One involves compromise but is easier to achieve the other is more likely to work completely in our favour but it will be hard work. There are difficult questions that need to be answered ahead.
  22. I amazed TP is still going on under Krull. I thought they would have got rid of him by now.
  23. Endorsement caps can be useful, but as you said, not the ridiculously low ones. They impede development and change, both of which are vital to maintaining an interesting community. The Pacific, perhaps?
  24. A shame, it could have been great and a force of the like that NS has never seen before.
  25. I've always thought that if a WA feeder Delegate doesn't have enough endorsements (endorsements=support of the people) to hold the region by themselves, they don't deserve the delegacy because they lack the support from the people. This also amuses me because Yy has enough endorsements to hold the region, he doesn't need guardians.
