    Friends of The West Pacific.

I have decided to leave nationstates. This decision was not taken lightly, but it had to be made. I am trying to start a business and of course. it takes up most of my time now, which leaves me little or no time to for me to tend to my nationstates nation and my TWP duties.

I would like to say thanks for making my stay here in The West Pacific a pleasant one and fun and to everyone I met, it was nice meeting all of you.

    Long Live The West Pacific!

  3. .Deadpool was great, so glad I went and saw that one.  Don't really see any other movies I'm absolutely just waiting to see...we'll have to wait and see what happens.  Oh, almost forgot: the new X-Men.

I'm not a fan of comic book character movies myself. Not saying they are bad, I just have never watched them, with the exception of the very first batman movie that came out many moons ago (Am I showing my age yet? :D)

  4. It's a byproduct of the database crash we had in December and I still haven't narrowed down exactly what's causing it...your post does go through (almost right away), it's just the script in Invision doesn't send back the OK signal in the ajax request.  So it just sits there forever.  If you reload the page you'll find your post has been posted.

This has been discussed quite a bit in the admin request thread part trois already.

Ahh..I didn't think of reading that thread, but thanks for the reply Winni :)

  5. Whenever I post here, these forums take forever to load. It takes a refresh before I am able to see my new post.

I haven't experienced this on other websites (some with forums where I post), just this one.

I have not been able to isolate whether this is a internet problem or a forum software problem (I suspect it is the latter, since this does not occur anywhere else, as previously mentioned).

I am currently on Chrome and this issue also occurs on firefox and microsoft edge on windows 10.

  6. when the offsite government attempts to impose its will upon the Delegate, that never works.

I'm ok with the Delegate being Chief Executive, the Guardians being the 'cabinet' and having the Voice be the legislative body.

I agree with what Eli has proposed, but where would the Deputy Advocate and Assistant DA's fit in under this structure?

I think it would help us with running an open government, which in turn, will hopefully drive up participation and activity levels on the off-site.

  7. I agree with nearly everything said above. However, I am dismayed at the lack of participation in what we do here. It appears as though TWP is not interested in an offsite community. I've seen some criticism, but not too many offers to help from members that do come here.

I think you have hit the nail in the wall with that observation. Seems like those who criticize are not willing to step up to the plate or offer any solutions that will solve the problem.

Where do we go? I think the big thing, as hard as this may sound, is to engage the nations of TWP that are not involved with the voice. How? That is a good question and a question I do not know the answer to.

  8. The reason was that it was seldom ever required and hence seemed easier to create a system based on need. When we need a judicial thing, we choose someone and deal with it. The rest of the time, we don't need someone sitting in an inactive position

Elegarth hit the nail on the head. Another problem with establishing an office that seldom is used; whomever is appointed falls into inactivity long before they are needed. So in effect, the only activity the judiciary ever saw was appointing new officers of the court.

    Valid points.

Would we need to write legislation to make this happen?

  9. According to the Charter, we will establish arbitors on a case by case basis as needed. And since it isn't used much that may be a good system.

With that being said, debate is a good thing! What was the reasoning for writing the judiciary in this manner when creating the Charter?

I will defer this question to one that can answer...since I was not the one that wrote the previous legislation on the judiciary :)

  10. Fellow Voice members of TWP,

TWP has not had a functioning judiciary for a very, very long time and as a member of the voice, I would like to see if it would be worthwhile bringing back the judiciary of TWP.

Granted, when we did have the judiciary, it was not used very much, but it was there in the event we needed to use the judiciary.

New legislation would have to be written (which I am more than willing to undertake), since the judiciary was functioning under another government structure.

I think that for a government to function properly, we need a functioning judiciary, no matter if it gets used often or once in a blue moon.

Questions, comments, gripes and complaints are welcome of course

  11. Agree with PD, off-site activity has always been a problem in my years here.

On-site solution appeals to more users than an off-site solution ever could.

    I have seen it too.

I agree with PD, we ought to try an on-site solution first, maybe...on-site activity may spur on off-site activity.

Cormac Banishment from The West Pacific Forum

Description: Seeking to banish Cormac from the realms of The West Pacific Forums,

Convinced that all citizens of The West Pacific are free to live and participate in the government structure where they see fit and without undue interference from external sources.

Herewith, this proposal seeks to banish Cormac  and any/all of his NS Nations from participating within The West Pacific Forum, due to his past and recent transgressions within The West Pacific forums.
Note that this is for banishment from The West Pacific Forum and does not include banishment from The West Pacific Region (Which is a separate matter not before us as members of the voice).

Conclusion, This proposal shall either be voted upon by current members of the voice and/or approved by the current delegate, after which it shall be enforced.
