  4. I have updated the procedures, after taking feedback from a number of members.
  5. For now, I'm gonna change the procedures a bit this afternoon, to streamline stuff
  6. Hey... It's been a while since I posted here! Damn!
  7. A few months ago, one of NPO senators, Laws and Bylaws (also known as LAB or Paul) discovered he and his wife had issues to have kids. So they made a lot of sacrifices and got themselves an InVitro fertilization and she was then pregnant with twins, which was probably the happier moment of their lifes. On 12th of March, the boys were borh, 4 and a little bit months earlier, and with the obvious health complications this brings. Here is a brief of the current status of the babies: They are in dire need or your help. This is not a joke nore a scam. I have been supporting LaB through the internet, which isn't much, and they need both your support and some assistance. If you can find in your heart the small part that will drive you to help them, please do so here: http://www.gofundme.com/teambabydj ANY little bit you can add will help, and I'm sure Paul and his wife Sarah will be ever grateful. I'll keep praying. Thanks Comrades.
  8. I wholeheartedly agree that the Speaker and the PM should be combined into a single position
  9. General Election Guidelines Act Effective as of 11-March-2015 Updated 11-April-2015 1. Any and all elected positions defined by the legislation of the HGA shall be elected following the guideliness in the General Election Guidelines Act. 2. The members of the Regional Assembly, hereafter referred to as the RA, may hold nominations for the open position for 3 days. Nominees may begin campaigning as soon as they have accepted their nomination. 3. Nominees for any position must satisfy the following criteria: a. They must have held a forum account for 1 month; b. They must have been a member of the RA for 2 weeks; c. Any other requirement explicitly stipulated by the law or act that governs the position to be elected; 4. After the nomination period, a 5 day plurality vote shall be held in the RA to determine the election result. There shall be the option for voting RA members to abstain. RA members are required to state their votes in posts for them to be counted. Multiple positions can be voted for in the same election. a. If there is only one accepted nomination, a consent vote shall follow the same principle of requiring a plurality vote; b. In the event of a tie, a run-off election shall be held starting 3 days after the election results are given; the candidates tied up can campaign during this time but no other candidates are allowed to continue campaigning; 5. Only members of the RA at the start of the voting period are eligible to vote during the election; in case that a run-off election is required, new members who joined the RA after the original voting period will remain ineligible to vote. 6. The periods and election dates of eligible positions shall be dictated by the laws that create or govern those positions, and this act only describes and rules the election process to be held for those positions. 7. Article 1, of "The Role of the Prime Minister of the Regional Assembly Act" shall be modified as follows: a. Section 2 shall read "The Prime Minister of the RA will be elected following the guidelines established on the General Election Guidelines Act"; b. Sections 3 to 5 are rendered null and void; Previous Version, before 11-April-2015
  10. The man just spoke for me... But you are basically advocating against ALL of TWP allies, as I think ALL of them identify themselves as one of those or other...
  11. I think I may not have expressed my opinion. While I see how can the current civil code not be 100% totally perfectly fitted to TWP's overall reality, I think there is value on its current existence and creation, as both grant us a base to start crafting a more deliberately suited code of laws or conduct for TWP. Now, fully repealing it will simply leave us with nothing, and I see that as a worst scenario than what we currently have. Hence, instead of repealing it, I'd like to see it improved
  12. Voting for this is open: http://www.westpacific.org/forums/index.php?/topic/1256-voting-open-general-election-guidelines-act/
  13. As per my proposition and the support of Arch, Pez, LS, Llamas and Feux this will be moved to vote as soon as the 7 days period of formal discussion ends, and since that period has already ended, then I will be moving this to vote within a few minutes!
  14. Stupid mobile phone >_> I tried to say that the PM does not even exists in current legislation, and I see no need to bloat our government with more people that does less. What is the actual work of the PM in your proposal? Is he just a glorified global moderator?
  15. I think at this point it would be hard to find a commitment area between our two positions. I do agree that since the power of the community is the assembly, then the head of the assembly, the speaker, should have the authority over the executive council, specially if the executive is going to be executing those tasks that the assembly as a whole deems required.
