My fiance and I recently bought a new house. It was beautiful, it was eye-catching. Our house was the talk of the town. However, it was old. Very old. Not your standard built in the 1960's home. It was built in colonial times and stood in the exact spot ever since. When we first moved it, it was a bit unusual. Besides the hole in the attic, it seemed all normal. At the beginning we heard footsteps in the attic, but we later dismissed it because we are not superstitious people. Later, My fiance would feel like she was being groped at night. I assured her it was nothing at first and she soon fell asleep. But, as it progressed, weeks and weeks later, more unusual things would happen. She would wake up with bruises on her chest and face, and her bed clothes would be torn. We soon grew fearful of the house we lived in, and what sinister forces lurked inside. One night, she cried out in pain, someone was taking advantage of her! I pulled out my pocket knife I keep in my dresser and stabbed above her. I struck air, I stabbed again. I struck flesh. The room was silent. I turned on the light. A man was laying in a pool of blood on the floor. The only thing about him I recognized was the orange jumpsuit he wore. On the back it said: California State Penitentiary. I suddenly remembered something. A year ago, a man escaped from California State Penitentiary. The man was Joseph Cypresa, a notorious serial rapist and murderer. It all came together in my mind. He had escaped and had been living in the house even before we moved in. He didn't die in his blood like he deserved to. He was arrested and put on death row for lethal injection. A fate too humane for a sick man. My fiance and I soon married after the fact. My wife and I are still traumatized to this day.
