Flauschi918 Posted March 2 Posted March 2 Edict 1 27th February 1425 6:04 pm “Are you completely sure this will be a good idea sir? I mean, the environmental consequences would be astronomical. There- There’s just no way we can-“ “Yeeees I am sure. I’ve gone it through thousands of times with the Minister of National Security. There is no threats to be posed by the edict, only economical success and the betterment of our country.” “Sir, I must really insist. Either you go through it with the Ministry of EP and Greenery or there will be unforseen consequences. This is way too much. You can’t just throw everything into our rivers!” “Now now, calm down. I know what I am doing, besides what cinsequences can emerge from something like that? Our rivers are pristine I tell you…” A small suspense hang in the air around the office of Kerglom Hafth, Fauthurian Head of Government. The Walls beige, adorned with medals and placards of Mottos and Quotes of the Democratic Party. “Okay, you know what. I’ll go through with that damn ministry. Although, I don’t expect much.” Hail the lords, if there are any, thought Jenus Klett, personal advisor of Hafth. Visible relief showing in his face. Afterall, he has to be present day in and out during Hafth’s idiotic decisions and also helped avoid the one or other catastrophy. “Wait, I have a better idea, i’ll go consult with them later. What if we just dump all that stuff in the oceans? After all, it won’t do us much of a favor if it remains here in the country.” “I have to agree, anything better than here. Although please, i beg you, don’t involve any country or regions other than ourself if you have to do your statement. We can’t afford more international attention after that debacle with Aftokratoria lately.” “Don’t worry, it will all be handled excellently” A smug smile cut through his face. The meeting ended, both Hafth and Klett made their way towards the evening break, given to all government personnel from 6:30pm to 7pm. It was rather cold outside, maybe from the evening sun setting in, clouds standing before the uv rays of it. Shortly before the end of the break, an intermittent humming, shortly followed by a loud screech lit up the building. It was the PA system, always making you want to rip your ears off whenever it sounded. “All personnel with security clearance 8 and higher to room 282-b this instant” Security clearances are simple, the higher of a job you possess in the government, the higher your security clearance is. Security clearance 8 here refers to all present ministers and above. A quiet commotion, mumbling, whispering and even muffled laughter can be heard in the room once the whole workforce has materialized more or less quicky. “Ok gentlemen, as you may have heard, a big thing is in the works, the biggest one yet and I want to make clear with you all on this fine evening.” Present were the ministress of National Security, the minister of Infrastructure, the minister of EP and Greenery, the minister of Economy, Hafth, his advisor, and lastly , the minister of national and international shipping. An amalgamation of people that were to be notified about the edict, prior to it being announced. Conveniently, they all were assigned overtime a day prior, so any unnecessary people weren’t present. “It has come to my attention, that the economy is in dire need of an upgrade, an advancement of sorts. The ongoing reformation in the garbage sector, or whatever it’s called is stifling the opportunities to expand. We don’t know where to with the stuff we don’t need, and we can’t sell it either.” Bored faces were showing of the poeple there, already being home if it weren’t for the forced overtime. Glances being exchanged in between them. “So” Hafth continued, “it is necessary to take that stuff, and put it somewhere else, do you agree gentlemen?” Most ministers nod. “How are you going to get rid of it then, we can’t just dump it into our neighboring states just like that”, the minister of EP and Greenery came to word, almost bombing Hafth’s words out of the room. Quite ecstatic. “We talked about this, Hefning” Hafth said, in a tone of slight hate. He couldn’t stand that ministry and everything in and surrounding it. It is a thorn in his eyes, but sadly necessary for the democracy Fauthur wants to be, and he can’t change it as much as he wanted to. Yes, he’s democratic, wants the “best for the people” and all that stuff. Though, you could almost see nothing about the environmenvon the parties website or pledges. Most of all, Hafth hated Hefning, purely due to the name. He vaguely remembered someone with that name denouncing every act of his in the government, though, now six feet under due to old age. “We’re going to dump it where the sun don’t shine, kilometers under the sea. Swimming with the fishes if you will.” The commotion in the room gets louder, one gasp was audible for a second. “This is appalling, quite frankly. Ever thought about the animals living in the oceans? Ever thought about the environmental implications of this Endeavour, ever thought-“ Hefning was cut off, Hafth didn’t want to hear that piercing voice. Though, happy the Minister of Infrastructure cut him off. “This is for the best of our nation, the beet for the economy and a great relief for the “garbage sector” and the building capacity for the economy.” The minister of Economy nodded along, a slight smile. He wasn’t a man to talk much and noted everything down. One could muster he writes down almost too much for anyone to legibly read on one page, still he was concentrated and could read his notes. The minister of Infrastructure was quite the role model for the Ministry if Economy he thought. Maybe the should switch roles.. nonetheless, he’s taken a liking to Klaus Iop, minister of Infrastructure. “Right, exactly that” Hafth supports Iop. “Might I add, where do you want to take the capacity to sink all that stuff in the sea, it needs to be transported. I doubt we have enough ships ready for that- that hellish plan.” Hefning was mad as a bull, though he tries his best not to show it. It is unavoidable when talking that he gets very euphoric if a subject touches him. “Also, you know you can’t just pollute the oceans. The edict must be made public afterall. Are you not worried about the heavy international backlash this will cause?” The minister of national and international shipping, Hesur Fest, cuts in before Hafth can answer, much less to the delight of Hefning. “It has all been dealt with. We still got some obsolete freighters and ships from bygone times. Just a little cleaning, some adjustments and done are the garbage freighters. You know what, I love the sound of that.” Fest loses himself in daydreaming about ships. Ships and shipping and all that is naval always amazed him as a kid, he wanted to make that dream real, thus he’s now sitting here as one of the most important people of the country, with a pay that could drown someone in minutes if materialised. “A whole flotilla of garbage ships… great.. you kno-“ “And as for your other statement, Hefning. I have already been thinking about that, and we’ll just fly some aftokratorian flags, or flags from other places we don’t like, modify transponders or just completely cut out their comms equipment, no one will suspect it was us and all we can say is that these weren’t our ships. I know, the edict will be made public. But if we don’t officially do it, we never did it at all. We can just say that we dumped it in a landfill on a remote place for recycling and other purposes. Genius.” Hafth began to smile, as he was confident it would work, no matter Hefning being present. Hafth knew he could do nothing about it. As the clock struck 1 am, all ministers were dismissed, having had a glass of wine each… or multiple, one could not know. But one thing is sure, it wasn’t in the presence of Minister of Environmental Protection and Greenery, Hefning. As soon as the ministers were done talking, Hesur Fest, minister of national and international shipping sent forth the signal to repurpose a whole flotilla of garbage ships. It was 15 ships numbered. All rigged up with signal jammers and transponders thrown away. Most of them flying under Aftokratorian flags, some none and one ship flying under a still secretive flag, which will probably reveal itself later. One after the other, being packed with radioactive waste, bio wastes, scrap and other metals, heavy metals, chemicals and whatnot to make space for economic progress, they set sail in groups of 3 to the middle of the Viatic sea and in front of the Aftokratorian water boundary. “It is quite nice that no one governs international waters, it’s all free game” Hafth leans back in his chair, relaxing in the quietness of his office. Zoran Posted March 2 Posted March 2 OFFICIAL DECLARATION FROM THE DESK OF QUEEN ATSILA ANI'-WAH' I The Kingdom of Zoran, through its intelligence and maritime enforcement agencies, has obtained irrefutable evidence that the United Republics of Fauthur is conducting these illegal dumping operations under the guise of commercial shipping activities. The findings include: Emergency Edict and Covert Authorization – Classified intelligence has revealed that the government of Fauthur, under an emergency decree, has secretly authorized state and private vessels to dispose of hazardous waste into the Viatic Ocean and into the waters of neighboring countries. False Flag Operations – Surveillance and intercepted communications confirm that Fauthurian ships have been disguising their true origin by flying false Aftokratorian flags and using falsified registration documents to evade accountability. Coordinated Nighttime Dumping – Satellite imagery, naval reconnaissance, and drone surveillance have tracked multiple Fauthurian vessels operating at night, dumping vast quantities of industrial and chemical waste under cover of darkness to avoid detection. Harm to Neighboring Waters – Reports from multiple nations have confirmed a surge in contaminated waters, poisoned marine life, and coastal damage, directly linked to the waste originating from Fauthurian sources. Given this overwhelming proof of deliberate environmental sabotage, and in light of the United Republics of Fauthur’s attempt to conceal its actions and mislead the international community, the Kingdom of Zoran hereby declares the full imposition of economic sanctions against the United Republics of Fauthur, effective immediately. ECONOMIC SANCTIONS AGAINST THE UNITED REPUBLICS OF FAUTHUR Issued on this day of 01/03/1425 (DD/MM/YYYY), by Order of Her Majesty Queen Atsila Ani'-Wah' I and the Government of the Kingdom of Zoran Whereas the United Republics of Fauthur has willfully engaged in reckless and unlawful environmental practices by permitting the unregulated dumping of pollution and waste into international waters, as well as into the territorial waters of neighboring states; Whereas such actions constitute an egregious threat to the health and safety of marine ecosystems and pose severe economic and humanitarian consequences for coastal nations and global maritime commerce; Whereas diplomatic efforts to encourage the United Republics of Fauthur to cease its environmental negligence and adopt responsible waste management policies have been met with disregard and noncompliance; Therefore, the Kingdom of Zoran, in unwavering commitment to the protection of global environmental security, international maritime integrity, and the economic well-being of affected nations, hereby declares the full imposition of economic sanctions against the United Republics of Fauthur, effective immediately. Terms of Sanctions: Total Trade Embargo – All imports, exports, and financial transactions between entities within the Kingdom of Zoran and the United Republics of Fauthur are immediately and indefinitely suspended. Asset Freezing – Any financial assets, reserves, or holdings owned by Fauthurian government institutions, corporations, or individuals within the jurisdiction of the Kingdom of Zoran shall be frozen. Prohibition on Business Relations – Zoranian companies, financial institutions, and investors are forbidden from engaging in any commercial or financial dealings with Fauthurian entities. Ban on Maritime and Air Transport – All Fauthurian-flagged vessels and aircraft are denied entry into Zoranian ports, territorial waters, and airspace. Diplomatic Measures – The Kingdom of Zoran shall seek international cooperation to impose additional measures against the United Republics of Fauthur. These sanctions shall remain in full effect until such a time as the United Republics of Fauthur ceases all polluting activities, enacts verifiable environmental reforms, and provides reparations for the damage inflicted upon the affected regions. The Kingdom of Zoran stands resolute in its commitment to environmental responsibility and will not waver in holding accountable those who endanger the shared natural resources of the world. Nalibia Posted March 3 Posted March 3 The United Republics of Fauthur is breaking news this evening, as Kerglom Hafth, Head of the Fauthur Government has enacted an emergency edict to allow for unregulated industrial waste dumping into oceans not inside thier naval borders. The edict allows for any industrial waste, that means nuclear, textiles, colors, acids and non usable materials to be disposed of, offshore into the Viatic Ocean. Emperor Adebimpe Similola address the nation this evening stating, "We cannot stand idly by while the seas that cradle our lands are poisoned," he declared, "The actions of The United Republics of Fauthur are a blight upon the very essence of our shared world, and we must act to protect not only our own shores but the global ecosystem as a whole. It is water that gives us life, we depend on it not only for liesure on our lakes and beaches, but the very food it provides and the rain it carries over our lands." Empress Azaliah Tamar when asked, if other nations would support actions being taken against The United Republics of Fauthur. Responed, "The Kingdom of Zoran as enacted harsh sanctions against Fauthur, we plan to mirror these sanctions, and are calling on our allies and neighbors to collectively condemn the actions of The United Republics of Fauthur. Together, we will impose these sanctions with the full force of our combined economies. The United Republics of Fauthur will learn that there is a cost to their recklessness, and that the world will not tolerate their disregard for the sanctity of our oceans." Imperial Queen Ammani Xianyuan, was in the Imperial Press room to answer questions concerning both the impact of the sancions aginst Fauthur and the impact of such waste being dumped into our shared waters. Imperial Queen Ammani Xianyuan: "The health of our oceans is vital to the prosperity of Nalibia," she assured the crowd. "The sanctions are a necessary step to ensure the well-being of our citizens and the preservation of our planet's delicate balance." NBN (Nalibia Broadcast Network) Reporter: "Your Highness, how will these sanctions affect our economy? Won't the citizens of Nalibia suffer?" Imperial Queen Ammani Xianyuan: "While we anticipate some short-term challenges, we are a resilient nation. We have diversified trade partnerships and the wisdom of EUEI to guide us through this turbulent time. Our economy will adapt. The true cost would be the destruction of our environment and the health of our people, should we remain silent in the face of such egregious violations." INA (Imperial News Agency) Reporter: "What of the potential retaliation from Fauthur?" Imperial Queen Ammani Xianyuan: "Our empire has weathered storms before. We stand firm in our belief that our actions are just, and we will do whatever it takes to protect our lands and our people." IJ (Independant Journal) Reporter: "Your Highness, can you elaborate on the potential effects of Fauthur's waste dumping on Nalibia's coastline and ecosystem?" Imperial Queen Ammani Xianyuan: "The illegal dumping of industrial waste, including nuclear materials, will not only disrupt marine life but could lead to widespread contamination of our fishing grounds and coral reefs. The ocean is a delicate web of life, and if even one strand is torn, the entire ecosystem may unravel. The long-term effects are incalculable, but we do know that our citizens' health and livelihoods are at stake." Queen Ammani's expression grew solemn as she considered the gravity of the question. "The consequences can be dire, but it is important to remember. Fauthur has not yet dumped waste into the Viatic Ocean and most importantly, not into our gulf yet. We are merely making The United Republics aware of our stance and our willingness to take actions against their activites." Iruka: We will keep you informed of new developments on this, and other news affecting our great Empire. Zoran, Nouveau, Staneburg and 1 other 4
Nouveau Posted March 4 Posted March 4 Bureau du Président Citadelle de la République 1000 Rue Hautlieu Pointe-d’Espoir, Trebec 10000-01 République de Nouveauterre --- Transcription of Statement on Harmful Waste Dumping Activities in Viatic Ocean by President Guy Laclare March 3rd, 1425 The United Republics of Fauthur has begun operations to dump hazardous waste into the Viatic Ocean four days ago, according to intelligence shared with us and our own intelligence services. Ships bearing flags of different nations sailed out into international waters, and with the aim of dumping various waste materials in the ocean. It will take considerable time for waste material to drift towards the Nouveauterran coast, on the scale of years. However, this waste material will have catastrophic effects on ocean and human health. Ocean animals often die in direct contact with waste, and struggle to repopulate areas unless extensive cleaning is undertaken. Long term exposure to industrial waste in people can lead to birth defects, increased cancer risk, and overall health decline. The Nouveauterran government unequivocally condemns the dumping of industrial waste undertaken by the United Republics of Fauthur. Esferosians have known for decades that industrial waste must be properly contained in order to protect life. Here are the actions we will take in response to these activities: We support the Kingdom of Zoran, and the Empire of Nalibia, and levy sanctions against the United Republics of Fauthur. These sanctions include: the prohibition of the buying of industrial goods from Fauthur. The prohibition of money transfers involving government owned corporations and government actors involved in dumping, such as the Ministry of National and International Shipping. Lastly, the sanctioning of individual members of government who are integral to the dumping effort. These sanctions include escalator clauses. If the United Republics of Fauthur does not cease dumping activities, further sanctions will be implemented against wider parts of the economy. If the United Republics of Fauthur attempt to use retaliatory tariffs, government acts, and/or sanctions in order to pressure us or our partners into backing down on our policy, we will invoke more sanctions as well as the dissolution of diplomatic ties. A Working Group, composed of the Ministry of the Environment, the Ministry of Homestead and Development, the Coast Guard, and the Ministry of the Navy, will be formed to monitor the situation continually. This Working Group will also perform research and generate plans of action for Nouveauterran communities as well as the government. Their reports, an impact projection, and a national action framework, will be released to the public when they are completed. The United Republics of Fauthur are a persistent trading partner with our nation. Sanctions will negatively affect both nations. But, these sanctions are necessary to show that such a relationship is meaningless if parties take actions that negatively impact the current and future health of one another. If the United Republics of Fauthur continue to dump waste in the ocean in spite of sanctions, we will discuss with our partners on whatever next course of action is necessary for health and national security. Flauschi918 Posted March 5 Author Posted March 5 March 5th, 1425-West West Fauthur Halls It has now been 6 days since the Fauthurian edict to boost the economy was given. Sanctions from Zoran, Nouveauterra and Nalibia have already taken effect and are showing signs of weakening the Fauthurian economy slightly, as the sudden sanctions imposed, even by a few nations for now, are reaching far into already established processes of the country. Therefore, in a reactionary event, the government of Fauthur, mainly the congress, has urged Hafth to take a statement for the broader Esferos, and to take steps of preserving the economy. One bill is passed after the next almost in unison, as social reforms and environmental protection suffer in the light of stabilising the economy from coming sanctions. Preventive actions being taken. Now, on the midday of the 5th of the 3rd month of 1425, Hafth has once again spoken before the masses, before the greater eyes of Esferos, before leaders on their televisions and intelligence agencies, before Zoran spy satellites and all dissidents that care to watch and listen. “This hereby serves as an official statement from Kerglom Hafth, Head of Government, United Republics of Fauthur, democracy, national unity and unwavering loyalty.” Said his secretary and personal adivsor, Jenus Klett, as he stepped away from the microphone into the shadows of the much imposing flag banners hanging from the ceiling of the hall, making way for Hafth himself. “Hello citizens of Fauthur. With grave concern and misunderstanding, I hereby speak to you to present facts, rather than assumptions. Our situation on the economic front is turning bad due to unprecedented sanctions and embargoes from the countries of Zoran, Nouveauterra and Nalibia and more to follow. I tell you people, the democratic party stands for democracy, for a unified and honest Fauthur,” a brief pause before he continues to speak. “For a better world, future and diplomacy. These countries imposing sanctions on us, barring us from their economies, seizing our assets, is just aggression. Aggression without a base. They say we dump stuff into the ocean, only because the edict allows it. I assure you, we, as the people and government of Fauthur, have nought to do with such faceless and corporate controlled entities. We have done nothing wrong, we have abstained from doing anything to the oceans, to our precious waters, to the nature itself. The edict only says so for completeness, everything is stored in secure facilities on Fauthurian ground. And we for sure know, it’s the Aftokratorians, the Nalibians, the Nouveauterrans and the Zoranian people that accuse us of such vile acts, just to cripple our unity, our democracy and our economy. It is laughable that they have reports of Aftokratorian flagged vessels originating from our ports. We would never allow such vessels to enter our ports. We as the people, and I urge all of you, citizens of foreign lands, Fauthurian people, governments and other entities to see through their lies. To see, what they do to our country, to stand defiant against their warmongering practices and condemn and denounce their actions. For we have done nothing wrong. We have not officially, nor unofficially done anything to the pristine Esferosian water reserves, for we drink, for we fish, for we accumulate our precious resources from them. Thus, we won’t let them ruin our country. I say, let those sanctions come, let them defile our ways and truths, for we know, we are not doing anything wrong, we stand in defiance. Remember, for democracy, unity, and future!” As Hafth steps away, the crowd, captivated by his speech, is roaring, cheering and clapping. At the same time in the minister conference room, a resolution is drafted, a very own resolution, condemning the actions of embargoing nations on a faceless basis, lying to the public, in the name of democracy, closed to the public eyes and any technology, as it is written with pen and paper, sealed in a letter with a wax stamp and stowed away for future use.
