Another car found with fake "Sovreign Kingdom of Perenesia" License plate: It's the
second this month

NESIA MARITTIMA -  Local police were caught by surprise when on the 4th of October, a parked car near the Nesia Marittima city
center was found with a fake "Sovreign Kingdom of Perenesia" license plate, as the medieval state was a thing of the past.
Nevertheless, the car owner was found and asked to remove the license plate. Today, October 28th, police were shocked to find a
moving vehicle sporting another fake license plate. The standard Fluvian license plate was nowhere to be found on the rear of the
car. Police asked the driver to pull over, and they obliged. When questioned, the driver, who identified himself as "His Royal Highness,
King Percense VIII", simply answered that "The Sovreign Kingdom of Perenesia is a real thing, and that it's unjustly unrecognized
by the majority of Esferos". Percense VIII tried to convince the police, but still ended up with a hefty fine and a notice to remove the
plate immediately, or else he would face harsher consequences.

"Let's just hope that Percense is the last one", added Mattiseo Persenni, the Nesia Marittima chief of police, who agreed to be
interviewed today. "Let me be clear, adding stickers or similar modifications to your vehicle is in no way illegal, but obstructing or
driving without front or rear license plate definetely is".

Endemic deer species thought to be "more than likely extinct" spotted on a hiking trail
by a tourist, experts still skeptical

COLLE CASTANO - The last sighting of the Fluvian Deer, a small, endemic animal that lived in the forested areas of Rivalfiume, was four
years ago. Most experts agreed that the species had probably gone extinct. But recently, a photo has started to spread on the
Internet, depicting what looks like an adult exemplar crossing "Pas dea Forèa Sibillina", a famous hiking trail found in the small mountain
village of Colle Castano, Department of Estre Nort. The photo was taken by a tourist, that was there by chance and decided to take a
quick photo of the animal, without knowing that she could've found a lost species. She then posted the photo to her social media
account, and that's when the photo became viral. Experts are divided on the matter: Some say that there's a chance that the animal is
actually a Fluvian Deer, and that the Government should send a small group of researchers near Colle Castano to try and find the
animal, while others say that the photo is too blurry and low quality to be sure, and that it'll be a waste of precious time and resources,
considering the poor infrastructure of the northernmost, rural Departments. As of now, we still don't know what the government is
going to do to solve this problem. Expect updates soon on the website!

Today's Sport Snippet: National Chess Championship held in Nesia Marittima, Basamia
Department, "Way more partecipants than last edition", organizers say

NESIA MARITTIMA - Another year, another edition of the Fluvian National Chess Championship! This time, the event is held in Nesia
Marittima, the city randomly drawn from the FNCC Eligible Cities List. Compared to last year, tournament registrations have increased
considerably, with this edition becoming the most popular of them all. "This is going to be the Chess Renaissance we were waiting for!"
exlaims GM Paresco Picchi, who agreed to be interviewed today. "I think we are assisting to a Chess golden age. Tournament
registrations have been promising, and I can't wait to see what the youngsters of Rivalfiume can do! The ones we should be on the look
out for? Carès Talismari and Otomeo del Prado. Both really young and talented. I reckon they're going to go far".
For those of you that are interested in joining, the registration can also be made online on the FederSciamat website.

Major highway closed due to landslide near Barsè: 11 injured, 4 in critical condition

BARSE' - Tragedy struck yesterday, as around 11:30 pm, a large piece of rock broke off the side of a mountain, collapsing onto the Super-tratta Montana, an important stretch of motorway that runs alongside the mountains of Rivalfiume. Although it was late, and the flow of traffic was minor, the landslide still caused considerable damage: 11 people injured, 4 of whom in critical conditions, who were flown with extreme urgency by a helicopter to the municipal hospital of Barsè. The recent severe weather conditions might've been the cause of the accident: the north was recently hit by heavy rain after a period of dry spell. The Grand Directory has issued an immediate closure of the highway until the road is cleared of all debris and it is deemed safe.

Plans to expand and invest on national railways Ferrovie Fluviane's network

GRANKASTELLO - The Grand Directory has recently approved the plan to expand on Rivalfiume's Public Transport industry, focusing mainly on the state-run Ferrovie Fluviane, sadly known for being unreliable and lacking key personnel. The budget will be mainly spent on buying new trains and wagons to boost the already existing network. There is also the long-term plan of expanding the network with new railway lines, reducing the length of time of the route from one city to another, allowing faster service and the circulation of more goods and people. The Grand Directory has reassured the fluvian citizens that the proposed new lines and tunnels will not interfere with Rivalfiume's many natural parks and protected areas.

Today's Sport Snippet: Marselio Tesmett appointed to be Rivalfiume's Coach for this year's World Cup, "La Selesione" will be announced soon

GRANKASTELLO - The Fluvian Football Federation has selected Marselio Tesmett, ex-midfielder, coach and club legend of Lupidimare PM, as
Head Coach of the Swans
"I hope to bring great joy to the citizens of Rivalfiume this year", admitted Tesmett in a recent press conference. "We've begun scouting young prospects in preparation of the first group trainings. The official list of chosen players will be out soon. This year, we are switching to a more unconventional formation and tactic, at least for our standards. I think we must change our "philosophy" in order to create winning chances, and not rely on a defensive approach. If you ask me, organizing friendlies with neighbouring countries would be a good idea, too".

Sports Special: World Cup of Football draws to a close! Rivalfiume out in the group
stages, Nieubasria defends the title!

GRANKASTELLO - The World Cup of Football has officially ended! And wow, it sure was interesting! This year's WCF host was Hertfordshire and Jammbo, a small nation on the other side of the Great Pacific Ocean. Even though Rivalfiume was knocked out of the competition in the group stages, the players have showed their worth and some international action is surely going to take place for the Swans. Despite the many losses, most of the matches played were very close, usually with goal differences of just one.

"It's a shame that the Swans lost at the group stages, I'm sure that with a bit of luck, we could've advanced to the rounds of 16", said Tesmett in a recent press conference held in Porto Mei. "The group had lots of tough contenders, namely Nieubasria, the previous (and most recent!) edition champions. Many congratulations to a solid team, they deserved it. Sospestan also had a nice run, so congratulations to them as well! Who knows, the Nur National Teams could pull an upset and get themselves to the semifinals or even the finals! That would surely be interesting. If you ask me, I think that the team tried their best, and we will try our luck next time."

"Hey, even though we lost, I gladly watched the rest of the matches!" said Frese Pajetta, a sports commentator and football enthusiast, who bought the tickets to go and watch the matches live. "Even though the weather was as chilly as in Altipì, the atmosphere in the stadium was a whole 'nother thing. People celebrating and enjoying the sport. Such a warm feeling! It's beautiful that this sport unites us all."

Fluvian Schools: The Saturday Debate

BAJAMAJORE - It is known that Fluvian Schools are considered demanding, even by international standards. Especially the schedule, as when students go from Middle School to High School (14 years old and onward) they are met with a sudden increase in school hours. That's because the majority of Fluvian High Schools are also open on Saturdays. The reasoning? Most would say "To spread school hours as evenly as possible", but that reasoning doesn't satisfy most Fluvian students. People think that teenagers deserve more free time to socialize and to spend with friends and family. Other parents also brought up interesting "cons" to Saturday Schools: Upkeep costs. since schools are open six days of the week, they consume precious energy and resources. On the flipside, teachers and school principals alike agree that closing the schools on Saturdays will make the other days longer, since the ~36 hours/week target must be met. And that will mean less concentrated and tired students.

"Think of the average Fluvian attention span! They wouldn't last without Saturdays!" Says Marus Tisselli, the principal of the School of Chemistry and Technology of Bajamajore. "My school is attended by many students, that come from all over the Province of Bajamajore! Hell, I would even say the whole Department! How would those people do in a five day/week situation? They would need to get up very early only to get home at dusk! I would rather go an extra day, because after a day of school like that, I'd be too tired to spend precious time with family or friends!"

Are you a student of a Fluvian School? What do you think of the School situation of Rivalfiume? If you'd like to, you can send a form to forms.common@vivalfiume.rf and let us know! We'll show a graphic of what the average Vivalfiume reader thinks of the Saturday Debate.

Cooking special: Have a look at these delicious traditional Fluvian Foods, just in time
for the Chiaritura!

GRANCASTELLO - Today we are taking a look at traditional Fluvian Foods that you must try if you visit Rivalfiume during the Chiaritura
(lit. the "Lightening"
), when Fluviani welcome the milder seasons (though some tourists might still consider them colder than average!)

The Hungry Fluvian's Ideal Meal | By AuRi.rf, the #1 fluvian recipes website

Starters
Pan de' Picchi
- Pan de' Picchi is a staple of Fluvian cuisine. Most Fluviani would consider it a starter, but I could see it served in breakfasts
as well! It consists of Barley Bread/Black Bread with "Cace de' Picchi" cheese (a tangy, earthy spreadable cheese made with sheep milk.
The cheese has to come from specific areas of Rivalfiume to be considered authentic Cace de' Picchi.) honey and crushed nuts. Its name
means "Bread from the peaks" because most of the "ingredients" are readily found in the rural, mountainous areas of Rivalfiume.
Below is a more reinvented version, which also includes fresh fruit such as apples or pears.

Crostini di pane ai cereali con toma, pere e miele - Molino Chiavazza

Main Course
Majestrau -
Majestrau is a hearty traditional soup, perfect for every weather, be it the colder months, or be it during the ChiarituraMany
majestrau recipes are found all over Rivalfiume, but one of the yummiest and oldest recipes of all is the Majestrau Borgherese (lit.
Bòrgheri-style Majestrau). It's mainly made of vegetables. Most common are cabbage, chard, leek, potato, onion, carrot, celery, and
last but not least, a bit of beans! Bonus points if you also use leftover bread. That's because Majestrau originally was a "poor man" recipe,
before it hit the mainstream and became popular.

ribollita toscana

Second Course
Fish - Bacaléi -
Bacaléi is cod that has been preserved by coating it in salt (the salt drains the fish of all its moisture and is one of the most
ancient methods to preserve food). To make a perfect Bacaléi, it's important to "de-salt" the fish properly: it should be flavourful, but
not too salty. As with Majestrau, there are many recipes that involve Bacaléi. Below is one of the simplest: Bacaléi Delicato (lit. Delicate saltfish).

Merluzzo al forno con peperoni – Le Ricette Di Nai
Meat - Stufeto di Ajéo Piccaro | Costeto di Ajéo - If you're not a fan of seafood, this should do the trick: Stufeto di Ajéo is a delicious lamb stew. Below is one of my favourite iterations.
Roast lamb stew with garlic and rosemary - Recipes - delicious.com.au

Not a fan of stews either? Can't go wrong with a good old rack of lamb! Below is a typical Costeto di Ajéo, with crust of herbs and breadcrumbs.

Dessert
Tortìn Nevebianca - I - and many other Fluviani - can assure you that despite the name, the Tortìn Nevebianca (also known as Spruce tip cake)is absolutely divine. Spruce tips have a very typical, strong flavour that pairs nicely with sweet stuff (be sure to also check out Fluvian spruce-tip
sugar!). If you're going foraging for spruce tips, always remember to follow sustainable foraging rules and check the Fluvian Foraging Manual
available on the state's website www.visitrivalfiume.gov.rf/rivalfiume/to-do/the-1422-fluvian-foraging-manual
Otherwise, enjoy this delicious cake inside Rivalfiume's many bars, hotels and cafés. Best enjoyed with a herbal tea.

Cafè Barlotto - Last but not least, we have Cafè Barlotto (Barley Coffee). Barley Coffee is supposed to be a substitute of regular Coffee.
Before the globalization, coffee was considered a rare and precious item here in Rivalfiume, and so Barley Coffee was sold as a cheap
alternative. Note that the Barley Coffee doesn't have the same properties as normal coffee and thus won't help you if you're feeling sleepy -
a nice treat nonetheless, if you appreciate the milder flavour.

Dear readers, we hope you enjoyed this display of delicious Fluvian Cuisine! If you want to enjoy all of this and much more, come and visit

Poll Results: Saturday School, yay or nay?

GRANCASTELLO - Over the past week we've collected answers from our readers about the "Saturday Debate" (want to read the article? here
you go:
www.vivalfiume.rf/archive/november-issues/local/fluvian-schools-the-saturday-debate)
And here are the results, after almost two weeks of polling:

image.png.b4d07e4bfc572e18b27b1cf144ed264e.png

That's a close one! But let's check the answers of those that, in the poll, disclosed that they were people between 14-17 and 18-25:

image.png.629821c7467071ffaccb62e95344f88e.pngimage.png.7943fc9d7f3e9599ac7bc1503f1b8a90.png

We are aware that polling like this isn't the most reliable source of information, but if most of the people (...that truthfully answered the poll!) that
are of school age believe that
it's worth going to school five days/week, maybe more politicians should think about reforming it.

Laensio Mendini approves of NCC's new license plate regulations and
encourages further cooperation

WEST FAUTHUR - Fluvian representative and Minister of Transport Laensio Mendini signed the NCC (Nuran Cooperation Commission) legislation, proposing standardized license plates for safer travel between complying countries. He also added that "This is a big step forward", and hopes that "more countries will adhere to the regulations".

What does this mean for the average Fluvian?

The only difference between the old and new license plate is the addition of the so-called "Red Strip", in compliance with the new NCC regulations. This strip includes important information that eases car identification, such as the state flag and 3-letter code. Cars registered with the old license plates can still be used within the borders of Rivalfiume, but if you wish to travel abroad you're required to get a new license plate within five years. The cost for changing the license plate has been set to 100 ƒƒ, although additional fees may apply depending on the Department that you reside in.

As to comply to the regulations, All produced cars sold in Rivalfiume will be provided with the new license plates, beginning in July of 1423.

The license plates shown below are the standard version for commercial and passenger vehicles and the squared version, used by high power motorcycles and vehicles with square license plate holders.

New RF-Alert test drills expected tomorrow

BARSE' - Tomorrow, precisely at 12:00 (IAT +5) all cellphones connected in the Department of Barsè will simulteanously receive a message. It will be a test issued by the National Department of Civil Defense to make the most of the technology at our disposal.

"RF-Alert" is a public Emergency Alert System that aims to reach and protect citizens that find themselves in a potential emergency situation. The system has already been tested last year on a local scale in the districts of Barsè and Altipì respectively.

"The test in the Department of Barsè will be the first of Departmental scale - explained Civil Defense's Departmental Representative Tonia Ribbo - The message that the Barsediani will receive will be a drill, but if it works, we'll have a powerful tool available in real time, more precious than ever in the event of natural disasters or other serious events. We will follow the outcome of the test very carefully. I urge all citizens to not be alarmed, to follow the instructions and to give their feedback on the outcome of the drill".

The message that the residents of Barsè will receive is the following: "This is a TEST MESSAGE of the Public Fluvian Emergency System. Once active, it will warn you in case of emergency. For further information, visit the website www.rf-alert.rf and fill in the questionnaire on the outcome of the test".

Other drills will follow in the Departments of Estre Nort, Vajo and Lungogesi Baso throughout the rest of the year.

Sekiyan F1WC Team Eckhard-Walter confirm signing of Oldo Miuli

SONNENFELD - Promising young talent Oldo Miuli has been officially signed by Eckhard-Walter's F1WC division. Eckhard-Walter is a name that is easily recognized by Nuran motorheads, as they are one of the most dominant motorsport teams, having numerous wins in local and even international competitions.

Miuli will be joined by teammate Konstantin Stein, another very talented driver from Sekiya. With these two crucial signings, one can only hope that the team's efforts will further estabilish Rivalfiume and neighboring Sekiya as motorsport powerhouses.

Leaked stunning E.C. Vajo kits after surprising promotion

VAJO - The kits of E.C. Vajo that are destined for the 1423/1424 season were recently leaked on the Internet. E.C. Vajo, after 11 years of permanence in the Lega Superiore, Rivalfiume's second tier of the Fluvian Football League, got a shocking promotion to the Lega Majore, after winning the Play-Off final against Borgo Novocomoro, the team that was predicted to win it all.

The new kits are a big improvement: The iconic royal purple home shirt has been adorned with a pattern remeniscing traditional Vajan wool clothes and carpets. The same pattern can be found on the shirt's sleeve cuffs. The Football Club also filed new sponsorship deals with local car dealership CAV, staying true to its roots. Let's hope that the Violeti and their iconic home kit manage to stay in the top flight!
