Etymology

The common word "Zoran" comes from the zoranian word, sowani, which is of unknown origin and meaning. The first appearance of the use of the word sowani in written record dates back to 400 BF. Before this, Aniyvwiyai'i was used to refer to the ancient Empire of Zoran before the Markan conquest.
